  • Continuous Integration or Publishing System

    - by Chris M
I've been testing Hudson for a few days now and for PHP projects it seems ok; What I need though is a system that will allow me to publish an SVN tag to an FTP folder without adding a pile of rubbish on the end; hudson gets overexcited and adds a pile of folders to the export. Are their any other decent systems; it needs to be simple to use as this will eventually fall under the control of 'admins' in order to meet sox compliance (aka the man with the gun cant pull the trigger). Basic Requirements: Must be free and downloadable to a server (FTP's internal only here) Needs to be able to interact with SVN Needs to be able to publish to FTP Needs matrix login permissions (or AD if its something that can go on IIS) Needs to be auditable (logging) Tell me if im not being clear enough here; thanks. • SVNKit's SVNCpoyClient method not working properly

    - by Gabriel Parenza
Hi Everyone, I am having trouble copying file using SVNKit. After copying the files from source to destination files end up one folder above the intended folder. For ex: When copying files from "https://example.com/svn/repos/trunk/project/src/ex.txt" to "https://example.com/svn/repos/branches/PackageN/project/src", files end up in "project" folder inside PackageN while my intention is to move it to "src" folder inside "project. Code I am using: svnCopySource svnCopySource[] = new SVNCopySource[]{}; SVNCommitInfo svnCommitInfo = SVNClientManager.newInstance(null,"", "").getCopyClient().doCopy(svnCopySource, dstURL, false, false, false, commitMessage, null); // SVNCopySource[] sources // SVNURL dst // boolean isMove // boolean makeParents // boolean failWhenDstExists, // String commitMessage, // SVNProperties revisionProperties

  • How to turn off project mirroring from SourcForge to launchpad?

    - by C.W.Holeman II
I have project Emle in Launchpad. I set it to import from emle.svn.sourceforge.net. My intention was to do a single import of the files from SourceForge. EmleBranches2.0 shows that what I actually did was set it to mirror the SourceForge project. Import details Import Status: Reviewed This branch is an import of the Subversion branch from https://emle.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/emle/trunk. The next import is scheduled to run in 35 minutes. Last successful import was 5 hours ago. Import started 5 hours ago on russkaya and finished 5 hours ago taking 30 seconds — see the log Import started 12 hours ago on neumayer and finished 12 hours ago taking 30 seconds — see the log Import started 20 hours ago on russkaya and finished 20 hours ago taking 30 seconds — see the log How can I turn off the mirroring?

  • Mac OS X bash prompt bug?

    - by Memo
I am trying to set my bash prompt to display the time and current directory in bold: export PS1="\[\e[1m\][\A] \w \$ \[\e[0m\]" This does apparently work, but when I use the command history (ctrl-r), after finding the command I was searching for and pressing enter, this line is not displayed correctly. Here is an example: [21:58] ~/Wyona/svn-repos/zwischengas $ (reverse-i-search)`ta': tail -F logs/log4j-cnode1.log becomes, after pressing enter: [21:58] ~/Wyona/svn-repos/zwischengas $ -F logs/log4j-cnode1.log Of course, this is not "really" a problem, since the command does work correctly, but it is still annoying. Does anybody know why this happens? And, more importantly, how to prevent/fix it? Thanks, Memo

  • Robust C# Plugin System

    - by Pete Kirkham
I am writing a tool which communicates with more than one version control system, either subversion or clearcase, and has various utilities which can be plugged into it. I though of using MEF to load the version control providers, and utiilities, both of which have interfaces definied for them. I've started to use MEF for this. But if loading any plugin fails (on half my clients machines, the ClearCase COM bindings won't be present, so loading will fail, on the other half SVN won't be installed, so the SVN plugin won't load) though, MEF throws an exception and no plugin works; I was hoping that the rest of the plugins would load. [ImportMany(AllowRecomposition = true)] public IEnumerable<IVersionControl> RegisteredProviders { get; private set; } Instead, if any providers fail to construct themselves, then RegisteredProviders is null. Is there a simple way of configuring MEF to achieve this (reporting exceptions but loading other instances), or do I have to change the interface to delay their intialisation failure until after MEF has instantiated the objects?

  • In Subversion, I know when a file was added, what's the quickest way to find out when it was deleted

    - by Eric Johnson
OK, so suppose I know I added file "foo.txt" to my Subversion repository at revision 500. So I can do a svn log -v http://svnrepo/path/foo.txt@500, and that shows all the files added at the same time. What's the fastest way to find when the file was deleted after it was added? I tried svn log -r500:HEAD -v http://svnrepo/path/foo.txt@500, but that gives me "path not found" - perhaps obviously, because the file "foo.txt" doesn't exist at "HEAD". I can try a binary search algorithm going forward through revisions (and that would certainly be faster than typing this question), but is there a better way?

  • Eclipse 3.5 and Ubuntu 9.10, subversion client does not work

    - by Cédric Girard
Hi, I had installed Eclipse 3.5 Yoxos on my Ubuntu 8.04 for month, and run fine. I had upgraded to 9.10 last week, and the subversion plugin does not work since upgrade. When I try to update or commit, Subversion work for hours without any progress in console or progress bars. I can delete files or add them to SVN, but commands wich involve network just hang. SVN run fine using command line. I have already patched the GDK problem. Since this I can cancel update/commit without crashing Eclipse. Regards Cédric

  • How do I get Tycho?

    - by Jens Schauder
Tycho is supposed to be a plug-in for maven for building eclipse plug-ins. I have found various blogs and other articles about it, but the contained links to Tycho are all dead or not accessible for the general public, for example: http://www.sonatype.com/people/2009/04/tycho-040-roadmap/ The only thing I found is a project proposal on the eclipse site, but it doesn't reference any downloads: http://www.eclipse.org/proposals/tycho/ I found a svn repository, but it seems to be extremely dated: http://svn.codehaus.org/m2eclipse/tycho/trunk/ So my question is: where do I get tycho from? Or is it dead and I should stop bothering? I doubt it's dead, since I found out there is a talk about it on JAX2010 ...

  • Problem with truncation of floating point values in DBSlayer.

    - by chrisdew
When I run a query through DBslayer http://code.nytimes.com/projects/dbslayer the floating point results are truncated to a total of six digits (plus decimal point and negative sign when needed). { ... "lat":52.2228,"lng":-2.19906, ... } When I run the same query in MySQL, the results are as expected. | 52.22280884 | -2.19906425 | Firstly, am I correct in identifying DBSlayer as the cause of this effect? (Or the JSON library it uses, etc.) Secondly, is this floating point precision configurable within DBSlayer? Thanks, Chris. P.S. Ubuntu 9.10, x86_64 Path: . • Setting Mercurial's execute bit on Windows

    - by Joe
I work on a Mercurial repository that is checked out onto an Unix filesystem such as ext3 on some machines, and FAT32 on others. In Subversion, I can set the svn:executable property to control whether a file should be marked executable when checked out on a platform that supports such a bit. I can do this regardless of the platform I'm running SVN on or the filesystem containing my working copy. In Mercurial, I can chmod +x to get the same effect if the clone is on a Unix filesystem. But how can I set (or remove) the executable bit on a file on a FAT filesystem?

  • Is there a nice XSL stylesheet for client-side DocBook rendering?

    - by Steven Huwig
I want the DocBook documents in my SVN repository to look nice if someone looks at them in a web browser. I've started to write a CSS stylesheet, but I think that it will have significant limitations -- particularly ones regarding hyperlinks. There is a large body of DocBook XSL stylesheets at the DocBook site , but they don't seem to be appropriate for browser rendering. I don't want to generate static documents and put them into SVN. I want them to be basically readable for other developers without much hassle. I could write my own browser-appropriate XSL stylesheet to convert DocBook to HTML, but it seems like someone else must have already done this. I just don't know where to find it.

  • How do I build mDNSResponder?

    - by Alex
I have tried checking out the mDNSResponder source from Apple's SVN host, with the thought of compiling it and tweaking it. This failed miserably. Here is the last line of the output of cd trunk SRCROOT=. make I get the same error for several tags in the SVN tree, so I'm not sure if there is something on my end wrong? The following build commands failed: mDNSResponder: CompileC mDNSResponder.build/mDNSResponder.build/Objects-normal/i386/mDNSMacOSX.o /Users/myname/Desktop/mDNSResponder/trunk/mDNSMacOSX/mDNSMacOSX.c normal i386 c com.apple.compilers.gcc.4_2 PhaseScriptExecution "Run Script" /Users/myname/Desktop/mDNSResponder/trunk/mDNSMacOSX/mDNSResponder.build/mDNSResponder.build/Script-D284BE6C0ADD80740027CCDF.sh mDNSResponder debug: CompileC "mDNSResponder.build/mDNSResponder debug.build/Objects-normal/i386/mDNSMacOSX.o" /Users/myname/Desktop/mDNSResponder/trunk/mDNSMacOSX/mDNSMacOSX.c normal i386 c com.apple.compilers.gcc.4_2 Build Some: PhaseScriptExecution "Run Script" "/Users/myname/Desktop/mDNSResponder/trunk/mDNSMacOSX/mDNSResponder.build/Development/Build Some.build/Script-FF045B6A0C7E4AA600448140.sh" (4 failures)

  • Is this scatter-brained workflow realizable in Git?

    - by Luke Maurer
This is what I'd like my workflow to look like at a conceptual level: I hack on my new feature for a while I notice a typo in a comment I change it Since the typo is completely unrelated to anything else, I put that change in a pile of comment fixes I keep working on the code I realize I need to flesh out a few utility functions I do so I put that change in its own pile Steps 2, 3, and 4 each repeat throughout the day I finish the new feature and put the changes for that feature in a pile I push nice patches upstream: One with the new feature, a few for the other tweaks, and one with a bunch of comment fixes if enough have accumulated Since I'm both lazy and a perfectionist, I want to be able to do some things out of order: I might correct a typo but forget to put it in the comment fix pile; when I prepare the upstream patches (I'm using git-svn, so I need to be pretty deliberate about these), I'll then pull out the comment fixes at that point. I might forget to separate things altogether until the very end. But I might /also/ have committed some of the piles along the way (sorry, the metaphor is breaking down …). This is all rather like just using Eclipse changesets with SVN, only I can have different changes to the same file in different piles (having to disentangle changes into different commits is what motivated me to move to git-svn, in fact …), and with Git I can have my full discombobulated change history, experimental branches and all, but still make a nice, neat patch. I've just recently started with Git after having wanted to for a good while, and I'm quite happy so far. The biggest way in which the above workflow doesn't really map into Git, though, is that a “bin” can't really be just a local branch, since the working tree only ever reflects the state of a single branch. Or maybe the Git index is a “pile,” and what I want is to have more than one somehow (effectively). I can think of a few ways to approximate what I want (maybe creative use of stash? Intricate stash-checkout-merge dances?), but my grasp on Git isn't solid enough to be sure of how best to put all the pieces together. It's said that Git is more a toolkit than a VCS, so I guess the question comes down to: How do I build this thing with these tools?

  • Visual Studio keeps changing resx files

    - by CFP
Hello everyone ! I'm working on a VB.Net project and using SVN. I noticed that every time I use my main form, Visual studio slightly modifies my .resx file, which means that I keep having to re-commit it, which is quite an annoying thing. Has anybody experienced such problems? A diff file can be seen at http://synchronicity.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/synchronicity/trunk/Create%20Synchronicity/MainForm.resx?r1=272&r2=359&pathrev=359 Has anybody ever heard of this? Thanks, CFP.

  • How to get reference to SqlConnection (or Connection string) in Castle ActiveRecord?

    - by VoimiX
    how can I get reference to current SqlConnection or Sqlconnection in config? I found http://svn.castleproject.org:8080/svn/castle/trunk/ActiveRecord/Castle.ActiveRecord.Tests/DifferentDatabaseScopeTestCase.cs and code private string GetSqlConnection() { IConfigurationSource config = GetConfigSource(); IConfiguration db2 = config.GetConfiguration(typeof(ActiveRecordBase)); string conn = string.Empty; foreach (IConfiguration child in db2.Children) { if (child.Name == "connection.connection_string") { conn = child.Value; } } return conn; } But I cant understand where I can find "GetConfigSource" implementation? Is this standart Castle helper function or not? I use these namespaces using Castle.ActiveRecord; using NHibernate.Criterion; using NHibernate; using Castle.Core.Configuration; using Castle.ActiveRecord.Framework;

  • How to use pom.xml/Maven to initialize a local thoughtsite (App Engine sample) project in Eclipse?

    - by ovr
This sample app ("thoughtsite") for App Engine contains a pom.xml in its trunk: http://code.google.com/p/thoughtsite/source/browse/#svn/trunk But I don't know what command to run in Maven to set up the project locally. (The README doesn't mention anything about Maven.) I tried to just import the project code directly into Eclipse but it doesn't look like it's in an appropriate format for a direct import. So I assume I need to do something with Maven to get it set up correctly. I haven't really used Maven before so I'm not sure what command I would need to run to set everything up. The pom.xml seems like it downloads a bunch of dependencies for the project like the Spring jar files which I don't see anywhere else in the svn repository.

  • What Are Basic Tools For A New Project?

    - by Morgan Cheng
For a long time, I thought that to start a new project we only need 3 basic tools. 1) A Build System (e.g. Maven & CruiseControl) 2) A Version Control System (e.g. CVS & SVN & GIT) 3) A Bug Tracking System (e.g. Bugzilla) Yesterday, a senior guy told me that we need at least one thing more. That is KPI(Key Performance Index). Without KPI, it is impossible to measure whether the project is progressing well or not. KPI is kind of SOFT tool compared to Maven/SVN/Bugzilla. I believe since I missed SOFT tools, there must be some other kind of tools I missed. So, anybody get some ideas what other basic tools necessary for a new project?

  • How can I save the schema of a SQL Database to a file?

    - by Eric
I'm writing a software application in C#.Net that connects to a SQL Server database. My C# project is under SVN version control, but I'd like to include my database schema in the SVN repository as well. An answer to a previous question of mine suggested storing the scripts to generate the database in version control. Is there a way to automatically generate these scripts from an existing database? I'm very new to SQL Server, but I noticed in management studio that the SQL commands to create a table can be generated automatically by right clicking on the table and clicking "Script Table As". Is there an equivalent command that would work with the entire database?

  • Project organization in perforce

    - by Chupa
Hello. I created several web applications that use the same static files (css, js, images). When I use svn for version control, I use an external repository (svn: externals) to add files to the current project. For example: - Project_1 ---- Webapp -------- Static (external to static's repo) - Project_2 ---- Webapp -------- Static (external to static's repo) I could easily use it in their web pages by adding a link like /static/ ... But now our company has moved to perforce. How can I support the current structure? We also use maven, I think to pack these files as a jar and use as a dependency, but then my editor (idea) does not see that this dependence are js-scripts and styles. And i need to repackage and deploy jar file when create minor changes. How to use maven correctly?

  • In Jenkins, how to checkout a project into a specific directory (using GIT)

    - by viebel
Sorry for the 'svn' style - we are in a process of migration from SVN to GIT (including our CI Jenkins environment). What do we need is to be able to make Jenkins to checkout (or should I say clone?) the GIT project (repository?) into a specific directory. We've tried some refspecs magic but it wasn't to obvious to understand and to use successfully. Furthermore, if in the same Jenkins project we need to checkout several private GitHub repositories into several separate dirs under a project root. How can we do it please? We have GitHub plugin installed. Hope we've phrased the things right.

  • Hudson jobs won't call javac?

    - by Dissonant
Hi, I have just set up Hudson on my server. For some reason, my build will not call javac to compile my builds...? I have set the path to the JDK in the Manage Hudson area, and it seems to recognise it (doesn't give me a warning). Is there something else I'm supposed to do? Here's a sample console output of one of my jobs (note how javac isn't called at all): Started by user admin Checking out svn+ssh://myhost.com/Project1 A /src/Program.java A build.xml U At revision 119 no change for svn+ssh://myhost.com/Project1 since the previous build Finished: SUCCESS
