  Problem: I installed ruby, but it is not recognized correctly. I'm following the deploying to VPS: https://github.com/railscasts/335-deploying-to-a-vps I am setting my server on ubuntu 12.04 LTS to deploy my rails app. I'm following the railscast on deploying to a VPS, and trying to install ruby through rbenv. It seemed everything was installed correctly, but when I tried to check the ruby version, it gave me errors. • How to distribute the android reusable code in a package?

  Hi, I have developed some reusable android component which is basically a class . This class has some resource dependencies e.g. some png drawables, some xml layouts etc. So this class referenced the auto-generated R file.I would like to distribute this code in a single package like jar file to other developers for use in their applications. I have read that the only possible solution is to distribute code together with all my resources, which others have to copy to their "res" folder (source). So I created a jar file having the class file (say MyClass which is in the package com.xyz.android.app) and resources and tried to use this in my new application. So I added the jar file to my new applications build path using add external jars option in eclipse and copied all the resources to my new application's res folder. (The activity class say MainActivity of my new application is in com.abc.myapplication package, just for the case if it may helpful) But when I run this new application there is java.lang.ClassCastException in the MyClass class. I tried to debug the application and then I found that in the MyClass class, there is "R cannot be resolved" problem. Then I changed MainActivity's package to com.xyz.android.app (which is not the way, other developers will be happy to do), But again the same problem. But When I just copy the source java file such that both MainActivity.java and MyClass.java are in com.xyz.android.app package then application runs fine. So if I need to distribute such that other users need not to bother these package naming things, how can I accomplish this? Please help !!

Ultimately, I'd like it to be well-parsed for JSON. I use the jquery library, if that helps.

• ResourceFilterFactory and non-Path annotated Resources

  (I'm using Jersey 1.7) I am attempting to add a ResourceFilterFactory in my project to select which filters are used per method using annotations. The ResourceFilterFactory seems to be able to filters on Resources which are annotated with the Path annotation but it would seem that it does not attempt to generate filters for the methods of the SubResourceLocator of the resources that are called. @Path("a") public class A { //sub resource locator? @Path("b") public B getB() { return new B(); } @GET public void doGet() {} } public class B { @GET public void doOtherGet() { } @Path("c") public void doInner() { } } When ran, the Filter factory will only be called for the following: AbstractResourceMethod(A#doGet) AbstractSubResourceLocator(A#getB) When I expected it to be called for every method of the sub resource. • Why is my searchable activity's Intent.getAction() null?

  I've followed the SearchManager documentation yet am still having trouble making one of my app's activities searchable. • Hibernate 3.5.0 causes extreme performance problems

  I've recently updated from hibernate 3.3.1.GA to hibernate 3.5.0 and I'm having a lot of performance issues. As a test, I added around 8000 entities to my DB (which in turn cause other entities to be saved). These entities are saved in batches of 20 so that the transactions aren't too large for performance reasons. When using hibernate 3.3.1.GA all 8000 entities get saved in about 3 minutes. When using hibernate 3.5.0 it starts out slower than with hibernate 3.3.1. But it gets slower and slower. At around 4,000 entities, it sometimes takes 5 minutes just to save a batch of 20. If I then go to a mysql console and manually type in an insert statement from the mysql general query log, half of them run perfect in 0.00 seconds. And half of them take a long time (maybe 40 seconds) or timeout with "ERROR 1205 (HY000): Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction" from MySQL. Has something changed in hibernate's transaction management in version 3.5.0 that I should be aware of? The ONLY thing I changed to experience these unusable performance issues is replace the following hibernate 3.3.1.GA jar files: com.springsource.org.hibernate-3.3.1.GA.jar, com.springsource.org.hibernate.annotations-3.4.0.GA.jar, com.springsource.org.hibernate.annotations.common-3.3.0.ga.jar, com.springsource.javassist-3.3.0.ga.jar with the new hibernate 3.5.0 release hibernate3.jar and javassist-3.9.0.GA.jar.   I'm working on getting an MVC app up and running via AD Membership Provider and I'm having some issues figuring this out. I have a base configuration setup and working when I login as [email protected].com + password. <connectionStrings> <add name="MyConnString" connectionString="LDAP://domaincontroller/OU=Product Users,DC=my,DC=domain,DC=com" /> </connectionStrings> <membership defaultProvider="MyProvider"> <providers> <clear /> <add name="MyProvider" connectionStringName="MyConnString" connectionUsername="my.domain.com\service_account" connectionPassword="biguglypassword" type="System.Web.Security.ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider, System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" /> </providers> </membership> However, I'd LIKE to do some other things and I'm not sure how to go about them. Login without typing the domain (i.e. the "@my.domain.com"). I realize that this could only work if I limit myself to just one domain - that's fine. Organize users in up to N different OUs within a single OU. As you can tell from my current connection string, I'm authenticating users in my Product Users OU. I would LIKE to create OUs for various companies within this OU and put the users into those OUs. How can I authenticate across all of these different OUs? I'm trying to figure out how the Active Directory Membership Provider ties in with the Profile and Role providers. Are there AD versions of those too or am I stuck with SQL, home-grown, or finding something somebody else has coded up? Many thanks!!

  I have a web app that create groups. Each group gets their own discussion board. I would like to add the feature of allowing users to send emails to their "group" within the web app to start a new discussion or reply to an email from the "group" to make a new post in an already ongoing discussion. For example, to start a new discussion a user would send: From: BillFake@gmail.com To: group1@example.com Subject: Hey guys! Meet up on Tuesday? Body: Yes? No? All members of the group would receive an email: From: BillFake@gmail.com Subject: Hey guys! Meet up on Tuesday? Body: Yes? No? Reply-To: group1@ example.com And, the app would start a new discussion with: Author: Bill Fake Subject: Hey guys! Meet up on Tuesday? Body: Yes? No? This is a pretty standard feature for Google Groups and other big sites. So how do us mere mortals go about implementing this? Is there an easy way? Or do I: 1. Install postfix 2. Write scripts to create new accounts for each new group 3. Access the server periodically via pop3 (or imap?) to retrieve the email messages sent to each account? 4. Parse the message for content If it's the latter, did I miss a step?

• What VC++ compiler/linker does when building a C++ project with Managed Extension

  The initial problem is that I tried to rebuild a C++ project with debug symbols and copied it to test machine, The output of the project is external COM server(.exe file). When calling the COM interface function, there's a RPC call failre: COMException(0x800706BE): The remote procedure call failed. According to the COM HRESULT design, if the FACILITY code is 7, it's actually a WIN32 error, and the win32 error code is 0x6BE, which is the above mentioned "remote procedure call failed". All I do is replace the COM server .exe file, the origin file works well. When I checked into the project, I found it's a C++ project with Managed Extension. When I checking the DLL with reflector, it shows there's 2 additional .NET assembly reference. Then I checked the project setting and found nothing about the extra 2 assembly reference. I turned on the show includes option of compiler and verbose library of linker, and try to analyze whether the assembly is indirectly referenced via .h file. I've collect all the .h file and grep all the files with '#using' '#import' and the assembly file itself. There really is a '#using ' in one of the .h file but not-relevant to the referenced assembly. And about the linked .lib library files, only one of the .lib file is a side-product of another managed-extension-enabled C++ project, all others are produced by a pure, traditional C++ project. For the managed-extension-enabled C++ project, I checked the output DLL assembly, it did NOT reference to the 2 assembly. I even try to capture the access of the additional assembly file via sysinternal's filemon and procmon, but the rebuild process does NOT access these file. I'm very confused about the compile and linking process model of a VC++/CLI project, where the additional assembly reference slipped into the final assembly? Thanks in advance for any of your help.

  I want to implement a web-service that uses the same interface as the Lists web service in sharepoint. I do not want to run this through sharepoint. What is a good way to get started in this? I have tried to use the wsdl.exe tool to generate some wrapper classes but the generated wrappers seem to have punted on the structure parameters and just specified them as XML. For example below is the generated wrapper for GetList - it should return a structure which has the information in the list, but instead it is returning XML. • Security header is not valid - using curl php

  Hi all, Im implementing the Express Checkout, Paypal API using PHP. I have no problem with the first step:SetExpressCheckout. I a have awk=success. But in method GetExpressCheckout I get "Security header is not valid". I try to figure out the problem and i think found out maybe it was the curl not working well.. What i did i copy the whole URL: https://api-3t.sandbox.paypal.com/nvp?USER=sanbox_1276609583_biz_api1.gmail.com&PWD=1276609589&SIGNATURE=AYVosblmD7khKkvvb.bNxvFT0OQ2A8GopwByEuC.CfMHt65VaUmvAEy-&VERSION=62.0&token=EC-3YG18670X88588437&METHOD=GetExpressCheckoutDetails and paste it to the browser. • regular expression for emails NOT ending with replace script

  I'm currently modifying my regex for this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2782031/extracting-email-addresses-in-an-html-block-in-ruby-rails basically, im making another obfuscator that uses ROT13 by parsing a block of text for all links that contain a mailto referrer(using hpricot). One use case this doesn't catch is that if the user just typed in an email address(without turning it into a link via tinymce) So here's the basic flow of my method: 1. parse a block of text for all tags with href="mailto:..." 2. replace each tag with a javascript function that changes this into ROT13 (using this script: http://unixmonkey.net/?p=20) 3. once all links are obfuscated, pass the resulting block of text into another function that parses for all emails(this one has an email regex that reverses the email address and then adds a span to that email - to reverse it back) step 3 is supposed to clean the block of text for remaining emails that AREN'T in a href tags(meaning it wasn't parsed by hpricot). Problem with this is that the emails that were converted to ROT13 are still found by my regex. What i want to catch are just emails that WEREN'T CONVERTED to ROT13. How do i do this? well all emails the WERE CONVERTED have a trailing "'.replace" in them. meaning, i need to get all emails WITHOUT that string. so far i have this regex: /\b([A-Z0-9._%+-]+@[A-Z0-9.-]+.[A-Z]{2,4}('.replace))\b/i but this gets all the emails with the trailing '.replace i want to get the opposite and I'm currently stumped with this. any help from regex gurus out there? MORE INFO: Here's the regex + the block of text im parsing: http://www.rubular.com/r/NqXIHrNqjI as you can see, the first two 'email addresses' are already obfuscated using ROT13. I need a regex that gets the emails ohhellzyeah@ribute.com and [email protected]

  I'm using an external bindings file when using jaxb against an XML schema. I'm mostly using the bindings file to map from the XML schema primitives to my own types. The error is : com.sun.xml.stream.ZephyrParserFactory cannot be cast to org.codehaus.stax2.XMLInputFactory2 I find a way to resolve it, but it is for jetty : http://tynamo.org/tapestry-resteasy+guide The solution seems to be to add a system properties to declare : javax.xml.stream.XMLInputFactory = com.ctc.wstx.stax.WstxInputFactory But i don't know how to do this for Tomcat. • Webserver sending corrupt or corrupting served files

  EDIT: Looks like the problem was a rootkit that corrupted a bunch of low level linux commands, including top, ps, ifconfig, netstat and others. The problem was resolved by taking all web files off the server and wiping it. A dedicated server we operate is having a strange issue. Files are not be sent complete or are showing up with garbage data. Example: http://sustainablefitness.com/images/banner_bootcamps.jpg To make matters more confusing this corruption does NOT happen when the files are served as https, (I would post a link, but I don't have enough rep points, just add an 's' after http in the link above.) When I throw load at the server, I get dozens of (swapd)s in top this is the only thing that really jumps out. I can't post images but ( imgur.com / ZArSq.png ) is a screenshot of top. I have tried a lot of stuff so far, I am willing to try anything that I can. A dedicated server we operate is having a strange issue.
