• .NET Weird character encoding issue

  Our globalization mechanism stores error messages in a SQL 2005 DB. Some of the error messages are used as subjects on email messages sent to the development team. Recently, with no clear reason, we started receiving emails with strangely encoded subjects, such as: =?utf-8?B?Qm1mQm92ZXNwYS5Qb3NUcmFkaW5nRXNwZWNpZmljYWNhbyAtIFN1Y2Vzc28gbm8gcmVwcm 9jZXNzYW1lbnRvLiBEYXRhIFByZWfDo28gPSAzMS8wMy8yMDEwIDAwOjAwOjAwIC0gTsO6bWVyby BkbyBFdmVudG8gZGUgTmVnw7NjaW8gPSAxMDAyIC0gQ8OzZGlnbyBOYXR1cmV6YSBkYSBPcGVyY cOnw6NvID0gQyAtIFNlcn... We don't have any clue on the reason this is happening, nor which encoding pattern is being used here (maybe utf-8?). I'd really appreciate some help.

  I have been approached to create a website using Sabre Web Services to power the reservations system. All documentation I have seen refers to .NET or Java solutions, I was in doubt whether PHP can be used as access is performed using SOAP. I have found no further information about this, I assume the answer is yes, but wonder why there is not a single reference to this being possible - all solutions seem to be .NET Any suggestions? Is there any way to configure git to have fast forwarding off by default? The fact that there's an --ff option would seem to imply that there's a way, but I can't seem to find it in the documentation.

• Provide a URI as a parameter for an ODBC or OleDB provider connection string?

  Is there any way of specifying a URI (rather than a physical path) as the "Data Source" parameter in an OleDB connection string, or the "Dbq" parameter in an ODBC connection string, such that the default ADO.Net providers will work with it? I've tried file://, and it's a no go, so I just wanted to confirm whether or not this is possible. I'm guessing not, but any confirmation or documentation links would be appreciated.

• Qwt setAxisScale() locks up application when given numbers less than 2e-07 and greater than 0

  I'm using Qwt for some scientific graphing, and I'm working with some fairly small numbers, the smallest being around 1.0e-22. I'm trying to call setAxisScale(xaxis, xmin, xmax) //xmin = 0, xmax = 2.0e-10 But when I do, the application locks up. I haven't found anything in the documentation that refers to a minimum value. Xmin and xmax are both doubles, so that shouldn't be a problem. Is this a bug in Qwt, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance
