  • Hyperlinks in VS2008 Test Result Details

    - by Red XIII
In case when resulting string in "Test Result Details" (TRD) is very long, the Visual Studio 2008 crashes. I fixed this by sending the result data into a file. There is a problem, however, because there isn't a simple way to open such file. Of course, I can manually open folder and then the file, but it isn't very efficient. Now, to the questions part. Is there a possibility to include in the "Error Message" part of TRD a hyperlink to a file? (something similar to what we can already find in the stack trace part) If not, is there any way to add such functionality (easy opening of a file) to TRD? If not, are there any ways to expand the default reporting of VS? Thanks for any help.

  • Beginners PHP / mySQL question

    - by Reg H
I'm brand new to PHP & MySQL, and one function I'm creating needs to access a large table or database. I've created the database and it's currently in a MySQL table, which I'm accessing with no problem. The table is 11,000 rows in length, with 8 columns (all text less than 8 characters long) - it's static, and will never change. Without getting too particular, my users will hit a button which will trigger scripts to access the data, say 500 times or more. So in general would it be better practice to include all of this data in a big 'switch' or 'if... then' conditional right in my scripts, rather than opening and accessing the database connection hundreds, or maybe even thousands of times? It just seems like that might be a bottleneck waiting to happen. Thanks!

  • Stopping users posting more than once

    - by user342391
Before posting my form I am checking the database to see if there are any previous posts from the user. If there are previous posts then the script will kick back a message saying you have already posted. The problem is that what I am trying to achieve isn't working it all goes wrong after my else statement. It is also probable that there is an sql injection vulnerability too. Can you help??4 <?php include '../login/dbc.php'; page_protect(); $customerid = $_SESSION['user_id']; $checkid = "SELECT customerid FROM content WHERE customerid = $customerid"; if ($checkid = $customerid) {echo 'You cannot post any more entries, you have already created one';} else $sql="INSERT INTO content (customerid, weburl, title, description) VALUES ('$_POST[customerid]','$_POST[webaddress]','$_POST[pagetitle]','$_POST[pagedescription]')"; if (!mysql_query($sql)) { die('Error: ' . mysql_error()); } echo "1 record added"; ?>

  • Location inheritInChildApplications kill debugger?

    - by chobo2
Hi I am wondering is this normal when you add this into your web.config <location path="." inheritInChildApplications="false"> </location> The debugger should stop working. Like when I add this to my site and try to run in debug mode it won't activate any of my debug points nor will it lock up Visual studios 2008. I can have it running and still make edits to my C# code. I take the line away and I get the debug mode back and it locks up VS2008.

  • files get uploaded just before they get cancelled

    - by user1763986
Got a little situation here where I am trying to cancel a file's upload. What I have done is stated that if the user clicks on the "Cancel" button, then it will simply remove the iframe so that it does not go to the page where it uploads the files into the server and inserts data into the database. Now this works fine if the user clicks on the "Cancel" button in quickish time the problem I have realised though is that if the user clicks on the "Cancel" button very late, it sometimes doesn't remove the iframe in time meaning that the file has just been uploaded just before the user has clicked on the "Cancel" button. So my question is that is there a way that if the file does somehow get uploaded before the user clicks on the "Cancel" button, that it deletes the data in the database and removes the file from the server? Below is the image upload form: <form action="imageupload.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" target="upload_target_image" onsubmit="return imageClickHandler(this);" class="imageuploadform" > <p class="imagef1_upload_process" align="center"> Loading...<br/> <img src="Images/loader.gif" /> </p> <p class="imagef1_upload_form" align="center"> <br/> <span class="imagemsg"></span> <label>Image File: <input name="fileImage" type="file" class="fileImage" /></label><br/> <br/> <label class="imagelbl"><input type="submit" name="submitImageBtn" class="sbtnimage" value="Upload" /></label> </p> <p class="imagef1_cancel" align="center"> <input type="reset" name="imageCancel" class="imageCancel" value="Cancel" /> </p> <iframe class="upload_target_image" name="upload_target_image" src="#" style="width:0px;height:0px;border:0px;solid;#fff;"></iframe> </form> Below is the jquery function which controls the "Cancel" button: $(imageuploadform).find(".imageCancel").on("click", function(event) { $('.upload_target_image').get(0).contentwindow $("iframe[name='upload_target_image']").attr("src", "javascript:'<html></html>'"); return stopImageUpload(2); }); Below is the php code where it uploads the files and inserts the data into the database. The form above posts to this php page "imageupload.php": <body> <?php include('connect.php'); session_start(); $result = 0; //uploads file move_uploaded_file($_FILES["fileImage"]["tmp_name"], "ImageFiles/" . $_FILES["fileImage"]["name"]); $result = 1; //set up the INSERT SQL query command to insert the name of the image file into the "Image" Table $imagesql = "INSERT INTO Image (ImageFile) VALUES (?)"; //prepare the above SQL statement if (!$insert = $mysqli->prepare($imagesql)) { // Handle errors with prepare operation here } //bind the parameters (these are the values that will be inserted) $insert->bind_param("s",$img); //Assign the variable of the name of the file uploaded $img = 'ImageFiles/'.$_FILES['fileImage']['name']; //execute INSERT query $insert->execute(); if ($insert->errno) { // Handle query error here } //close INSERT query $insert->close(); //Retrieve the ImageId of the last uploded file $lastID = $mysqli->insert_id; //Insert into Image_Question Table (be using last retrieved Image id in order to do this) $imagequestionsql = "INSERT INTO Image_Question (ImageId, SessionId, QuestionId) VALUES (?, ?, ?)"; //prepare the above SQL statement if (!$insertimagequestion = $mysqli->prepare($imagequestionsql)) { // Handle errors with prepare operation here echo "Prepare statement err imagequestion"; } //Retrieve the question number $qnum = (int)$_POST['numimage']; //bind the parameters (these are the values that will be inserted) $insertimagequestion->bind_param("isi",$lastID, 'Exam', $qnum); //execute INSERT query $insertimagequestion->execute(); if ($insertimagequestion->errno) { // Handle query error here } //close INSERT query $insertimagequestion->close(); ?> <!--Javascript which will output the message depending on the status of the upload (successful, failed or cancelled)--> <script> window.top.stopImageUpload(<?php echo $result; ?>, '<?php echo $_FILES['fileImage']['name'] ?>'); </script> </body> UPDATE: Below is the php code "cancelimage.php" where I want to delete the cancelled file from the server and delete the record from the database. It is set up but not finished, can somebody finish it off so I can retrieve the name of the file and it's id using $_SESSION? <?php // connect to the database include('connect.php'); /* check connection */ if (mysqli_connect_errno()) { printf("Connect failed: %s\n", mysqli_connect_error()); die(); } //remove file from server unlink("ImageFiles/...."); //need to retrieve file name here where the ... line is //DELETE query statement where it will delete cancelled file from both Image and Image Question Table $imagedeletesql = " DELETE img, img_q FROM Image AS img LEFT JOIN Image_Question AS img_q ON img_q.ImageId = img.ImageId WHERE img.ImageFile = ?"; //prepare delete query if (!$delete = $mysqli->prepare($imagedeletesql)) { // Handle errors with prepare operation here } //Dont pass data directly to bind_param store it in a variable $delete->bind_param("s",$img); //execute DELETE query $delete->execute(); if ($delete->errno) { // Handle query error here } //close query $delete->close(); ?> Can you please provide an sample code in your answer to make it easier for me. • C++ Declaring an uninitialized variable without a null constructor

Consider the DUPoint class, whose declaration appears below. Assume this code appears in a file named DUPoint.h: #include <string> class DUPoint { public: DUPoint (int x, int y); int getX () const; int getY () const; void setX (int x); void setY (int y); void print(); private: int x_; int y_; }; Is it true that you cannot declare an uninitialized DUPoint variable with a statement such as DUPoint P; using this class as currently configured because it has no null constructor?

  • Adding a subject line to mail address in ReCaptcha Mailhide

    - by bongman1612
I'm not sure if this can be done. I was looking to for a way to add a subject line to an email address hidden via reCaptcha Mailhide. Usually we have a mailto tag which include a subject like so:- <a href="mailto:[email protected]">The text of your link</a> However when we use recaptcha mailhide, we encrypt the email address and the reCaptcha decrypts it for us on completion of the captcha (sort of) So nowhere am I actually setting the subject of the email. Is there a workaround for this?

  • Different sizes of same strings - Telnet programming

    - by tommyogp
Hi all, I have been trying to create an iphone app sending telnet command. However what puzzling me is that the sizes of certain strings are so much different, particularly when they include \n or \r. I listed out a few examples. Please assist. const char *a = "play 25\n"; int sizeBitA1 = sizeof(a); // 8 units int sizeBitA2 = sizeof("play 25\n"); // 9 units const char *b = "\r\n"; int sizeBitB1 = sizeof(b); // 8 units int sizeBitB2 = sizeof("\r\n"); // 3 units

  • PHP: "Footer function"?

    - by Ricket
I have a project. It has a good number of PHP files. Each of these files includes a standard header. They don't include a standard footer. Now I want to do something just before the end of every page. I can go through each page and add the footer code, but I was wondering if there is an easier way (and I think I've seen something like it before, though I might be mistaken). Is there a way to set a "hook" or "trigger" function that will be executed at the end of a page, from the included header PHP script? I'm thinking of something like set_error_handler but to handle a page close event. Or like C's atexit function.

  • Is LocalDB supported by Visual Studio 2010 in Entity Framework 5?

    - by Mathias Lykkegaard Lorenzen
Is LocalDB supported by Visual Studio 2010 in Entity Framework 5, on .NET 4.0? Or am I doing it wrong? I'm getting a "The network path can't be found" issue when instantiating my model container with a connection string for LocalDB. Here's the connection string: var connectionString = "metadata=res://*/Model.csdl|res://*/Model.ssdl|res://*/Model.msl;provider=System.Data.SqlClient;provider connection string=\"data source=(localdb)\v11.0;initial catalog=fablelane_com_db;integrated security=SSPI;multipleactiveresultsets=True;App=EntityFramework\""; Edit 1 I'm receiving the following error when connecting, more specifically: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server). Edit 2 I just figured out that changing to Visual Studio 11 beta doesn't work either. Still receiving the same error-message.

  • The best way to store username and password without a database

    - by Mokuchan
Hello everyone, I want to build a simple single user login "library" in PHP, but I'm facing the following dilemma: how should I store username and password if I'm not using a database? A simple plain text file could be easily read and then the password could be easily decripted so that's not an option. If I create a php file with just <?php $Username= "username"; $Password= "password"; ?> then no one should be able to read it and I could simply include this file where I need it, but I'm not really sure you can't find a better way to do this! So what's, in your opinion, the best solution to this problem (and why)? Thanks

  • Expanding a row in a div-based table

    - by magneticMonster
I have a stack of <div> elements that show a name. I'd like to include a + link off to the side that, when clicked, expands the <div> and adds more detailed information (from a RoR controller). After poking around on the net, I found link_to_remote and related RoR stuff, but I can't seem to get the right combination to work together. Can someone point me to a tutorial or show what the controller and view interaction should look like? Thanks!

I have tried shell "su - " can switch current user, can this command help me in my C++ code? Don't laugh at me if my question is very stupid, I'm a true freshman on linux. :) Thanks!

  • Not sure how to use Decode, NVL, and/or isNull (or something else?) in this situation

    - by RSW
I have a table of orders for particular products, and a table of products that are on sale. (It's not ideal database structure, but that's out of my control.) What I want to do is outer join the order table to the sale table via product number, but I don't want to include any particular data from the sale table, I just want a Y if the join exists or N if it doesn't in the output. Can anyone explain how I can do this in SQL? Thanks in advance!

  • How can I get Ruby to treat the index of a string as a character (rather than the ASCII code)?

    - by user336777
I am checking to see if the last character in a directory path is a '/'. How do you get ruby to treat the specific index of a string as a character rather than the associated ASCII code? For example the following always returns false: dir[dir.length - 1] == '/' This is because dir[dir.length - 1] returns the ASCII code 47 (rather than '/'). Any thoughts on how to interpret 47 as '/'? Or is there a completely different way to handle this in the first place? thanks.

  • Binding an Element to a Control Property (string)

    - by 108980470541437452574
so, i've found a way to bind a label to a property on current Control i give it a name: <UserControl x:Class="WpfGridtest.GridControl" x:Name="GridControlControl1"> and than bind to property of this control: <Label Content="{Binding ElementName=GridControlControl1, Path=Filter}"></Label> I can see the default value i put in that property. I am guessing that this isn't working because i am binding to String property which doesn't implement INotifyPropertyChanged?? is there some other type i should be using for this property instead of String auto notify my label of changes, or am i going about this the wrong way?

  • Inter-project dependencies

    - by Mike Hordecki
Hello! I'm doing some Delphi (2010) work this summer, and I've stumbled upon this problem: My project consists of reusable backend library and a bunch of GUIs that tap into its interface. In this circumstances I've decided to make the backend and GUIs separate projects within single project group (I hope my train of thought is correct). The problem is, how can I include units from the backend in a GUI project? I've tried to modify Project Options > Directories and Conditionals but compiler still complains about being unable to find proper .dcu's. Any ideas? Your help will be appreciated.

  • C++ Char without Limit

    - by Lienau
I'm pretty well versed in C#, but I decided it would be a good idea to learn C++ as well. The only thing I can't figure out is chars. I know you can use the string lib but I also want to figure out chars. I know you can set a char with a limit like this: #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main() { char c[128] = "limited to 128"; cout << c << endl; system("pause"); return 0; } But how would I make a char without a limit? I've seen chars with * but I though that was for pointers. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • How to split the definition of template friend funtion within template class?

    The following example compiles fine but I can't figure out how to separate declaration and definition of operator<<() is this particular case. Every time I try to split the definition friend is causing trouble and gcc complains the operator<<() definition must take exactly one argument. #include <iostream> template <typename T> class Test { public: Test(const T& value) : value_(value) {} template <typename STREAM> friend STREAM& operator<<(STREAM& os, const Test<T>& rhs) { os << rhs.value_; return os; } private: T value_; }; int main() { std::cout << Test<int>(5) << std::endl; }
