    I have been attempting to implement the Entity framework into my project and unfortunately it seems like mapping an XML result set from SQL is not something that is supported. I also have issues with returning multiple result sets, though I understand that the EFExtensions was created to try to mitigate that issue. Is there a way to take a FOR XML EXPLICIT result from a SQL Stored Procedure and map it using the Entity Framework?

    I have a database project that goes through iterations (only one so far) and I need to deploy a testing version to a live server. I'm not sure how to go about this. I can make all the changes in a copy and then remake those changes in the live version. That doesn't make sense. Is there a way to change a server name to an existing server?     I remember when I was developing in C++ or Java, the compiler usually complains for unused methods, functions or imports. In my Django project, I have a bunch of Python files which have gone through a number of iterations. Some of those files have a few lines of import statement at the top of the page and some of those imports are not used anymore. Is there a way to locate those unused imports besides eyeballing each one of them in each file? All my imports are explicit, I don't usually write from blah import *

  • Remove Chrome Loading Notification?

    I am working on a project that runs in Chrome in full-screen mode and displays data that can be edited and interacted with. It makes AJAX calls(using jQuery) frequently that cause a loading notification in the lower left-hand corner on the bottom of the screen to pop up. These notifications are distracting when you are viewing the display and I would like to remove/prevent Chrome from displaying these loading notifications at all. Is it possible to prevent these notification by any means, or perhaps even mask the javascript that causes these notifications?

    I am working on localization project and when i change the language the UI gets disturbed because some translations are large. For example say there is button with text "Select All". But when this is localized in french it reads as "Sélectionner tout". That is larger than Select All and hence the gui gets affected. Is there any way to localize the gui as well.

  • Objective C @autoreleasepool directive

    I am reading a book which says (if I am not getting it wrong) wrapping some code with @autoreleasepool statement enables the ARC. First of all is this the case ? My second concern is when I am doing some iOS example programs, although I enable ARC when creating a new project, I never see this directive being used anywhere (in the automatically generated code). Does this mean that ARC is not being used ? Any ideas/pointers is appreciated.

  • how do i do very fast inserts to SQL Server 2008

    I have a project that involves recording data from a device directly into a sql table. I do very little processing in code before writing to sql server (2008 express by the way) typically i use the sqlhelper class's ExecuteNoneQuery method and pass in a stored proc name and list of parameters that the SP expects. This is very convenient, but i need a much faster way of doing this. Thanks.

    When call setImageWithURL, it fails with following, [UIImageView setImageWithURL:placeholderImage:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x149a20 2011-12-14 18:11:38.060 [781:707] Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[UIImageView setImageWithURL:placeholderImage:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x149a20' I can confirm I have included SDWebImage project and required headers correctly as I can use the SDWebImageManager successfully.
