  Hi we are developing a skinned application, and under vista/windows 7, on some machines, skinned applications sometimes loses their skin. here's an example for the problem, and here's how the application looks when it's good. this happens to us whether we develop with native Win32 API or in QT. It happens spontanously, with no event that might explain it. btw, we see it happens sometimes to some other applications, too we solve it by repainting everything every 2-3 seconds. but this is an ugly hack... any ideas why this could happen? thanks _very_much_ for any lead - Lior

• Multiple MCs, Single Listener, AsBroadcaster

  I'm currently working trying to have multiple MCs inside a container MC which when they mini MCs are clicked will broadcast a message so that I can act upon them. This would be simple in AS 3 as it would be mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, obj); however, this is AS 2 and so I am semi-forced to use the broadcastMessage('myMessage'); and mc.addListener(obj); event handler. The main problem is that the broadcaster isn't broadcasting any messages. The second problem is that there are 5 MCs and when I click one of them, I get 5 trace messages about the click. I can't seem to keep the MC clicks unique even though they are all given separate instance names vie the properties panel. Any help would be appreciated. • How2 display Image from DB in datagrid?

  Hope it's not yet been answered, but I've googled for quite a long time, and I've not been able to get it working. In brief, I've a SL4 page with a DataGrid filled accordingly to parameters passed from the previous page, so I fill the context in code, with a "RIA" query (w/parameters as well). So far, so good. I get the XAML declared columns as expected but the Photo templated column, which holds just an image control. I think I can use the LoadingRow event, but can some1 give me some code on how to get my goal (image is in in the context from DB)? Thanks in advance

• jQuery Validate - resetForm() Not Behaving as Expected

  Site in question is http://epraxadev.com/kw/palisade-palms/ "Click here for brochure" and "Learn More about Palisade Palms" both bring up a lightbox with the same HTML form to be filled out...the "learn more..." link also changes some of the HTML in the form (the value for a hidden form field, and the fields required). I'm using Colorbox for the lightbox, and for its onClosed event, I have this to reset the form: onClosed: function() { $('#brochure-form label em').remove(); $('#brochure-form').data('validator').resetForm(); } Now here's the problem: User tries to submit the "brochure" form, but it fails validation. User closes the lightbox. User opens up the "Learn more" lightbox, and tries to submit the form...now, instead of using the correct validation rules (only requiring e-mail and referrer), it requires all fields to be filled out (as is the case with the "Brochure Form") Is there something that I can add to the onClosed function, to clean up all the validation rules? • Why does xdebug crash apache on every XAMPP install I've tried?

  I've installed the Windows XAMPP package on three separate computers, 2 running Windows Vista 32 bit ( 1 Ultimate / 1 Home Premium ) and 1 running Windows Vista 64 Home Premium. After enabling xdebug in php.ini and restarting apache, viewing the default XAMPP localhost index causes apache to crash in the same way every time, reporting 'php_xdebug.dll' as the Fault Module Name. • Expanding all items of a NSOutlineView that loads data from a data source

  First of all I'm new to cocoa development so I suppose I'm probably trying to do this the wrong way, but here goes: I have a NSOutlineView which loads the data from a NSOutlineViewDataSource imnplementation. I want all the items to be expanded after they are loaded, but i can't seem to find an event fired when the data has finished loading, so I can send a [outlineView expandItem:nil expandChildren: YES] to it. I looked into the NSOutlineViewDelegate protocol but I was unable to find a sutable place for this call. What would be the best approach for this problem ?

In other words, without adding x:Class to the top of Generic.xaml and thus creating a code-behind file for it, which I assume you wouldn't want to do, how do you handle events for elements in your xaml that don't have a Command property (which is just about everything other than a Button)? Should LooklessControl have it's own XAML file (much like what you get when you create a new UserControl) associated with it that Generic.xaml just pulls in as a MergedDictionar as its default template? Or is there some other acknowledged way to do what I'm trying to do?

• How can I stop IIS7 from using HttpHandlers?

  I'm having a bit of a play around with IIS7, just trying to catch events manually in global.asax and skip the ASP pipeline entirely. To this end, I've set <httpHandlers> <clear/> </httpHandlers> <httpModules> <clear/> </httpModules> but when I call the server I get a YSOD [HttpException]: No http handler was found for request type 'GET' at System.Web.HttpApplication.MapHttpHandler(HttpContext context, String requestType, VirtualPath path, String pathTranslated, Boolean useAppConfig) at System.Web.HttpApplication.MapHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) What do I need to do to completely prevent IIS from handling things? What I want is just to do Response.Writes in event handlers and async methods set up in HttpApplication.Init

• backgroundDisabledColor error when upgrading from Flex3 to FlashBuilder 4

  I've upgraded a FlexBuilder3 project to FlashBuilder4, and I am seeing many compilation errors regarding unsupported tag attributes: The style 'backgroundDisabledColor' is only supported by type 'mx.controls.TextInput' with the theme(s) 'halo' Here is the offending mxml element: <mx:TextInput x="245" y="86" id="code1" maxChars="15" change="enableButton(event)" cornerRadius="9" borderStyle="solid" backgroundDisabledColor="#7977b6" /> ...what is the best workaround for this particular error? I was able to easily resolve a similar error with the "backgroundColor" attribute by changing it to "contentBackgroundColor", and was hoping there was a simple workaround for backgroundDisabledColor as well. I realize I can apply a css style, but I'd rather have a simpler solution as there are many many other attribute errors similar to this one.

  I'm using .NET WebBrowser control. How do I know when a web page is fully loaded? I want to know when the browser is not fetching any more data. (The moment when IE writes 'Done' in its status bar...). Notes: The DocumentComplete/NavigateComplete events might occur multiple times for a web site containing multiple frames. The browser ready state doesn't solve the problem either. I have tried checking the number of frames in the frame collection and then count the number of times I get DocumentComplete event but this doesn't work either. this.WebBrowser.IsBusy doesn't work either. It is always 'false' when checking it in the Document Complete handler.

• Why does DataSet.HasChanges() return true if called in the same function as change but false otherwi

  Assuming that the buttons are being clicked in order, the following code modifies row 1 in a .net DataSet, then row 0. HasChanges returns true, but GetChanges only gives me the change for row 0. If I comment out the line in the button2 click event that modifies row 0, then HasChanges returns false. Can anyone explain to me why HasChanges() and GetChanges() only return true when they are called in the same function as the change to the DataSet? • Problem in getting Contact Info

  Hi, I m working on application in which i have to send all contacts from Android mobile to other mobile through SMS. I don't have any problem in getting contact information but when I send those Contacts after few messages there is Alert Window pop up saying "A large number of message have being send" and ask if you want to send or not. I am testing this application on HTC Hero. Is this problem is for specific mobiles or for all? I don't know what should i do to avoid this window because I cant get SMS Sent event. Please help me with any ideas that i can implement........ Thanks

  Without paging function, i can loop through the gridview by using var sum = 0; var gridViewCtlId = '<%=timesheetView.ClientID%>'; var grid = document.getElementById(gridViewCtlId); var gridLength = grid.rows.length; so with gridLength i can loop through the gridview to sum all rows. However, when I use paging event of gridview, i use the page size to loop through all rows, but it occurs errors because the last page may not have enough rows. So would you please to help me how to get the rows in the each page of gridview?

• C# - Layout problem on Windows XP professional

  I am developing a C# application with .NET Framework 2.0. The problem is, that on my client's PC, the controls get expanded, layout changes (positions of the controls gets changed), sometimes buttons get missed entirely. It happens even on Forms with 2-3 TextBoxes, 2-3 Buttons and some Labels. I tried a lot of investigations. I tried to show a message in the form's resize event. But it doesn't get called. After digging a bit more, it seemed that in Designer.cs file even though ResumeLayout (false) is being called for the form, but this causes the the expansion/disposition of the controls. My Client is using Windows XP professional on his Dell laptop. He is able to reproduce the issue on other laptops with Windows XP professional. But not in other OSes (like Windows XP Home or Windows Vista). In my desktop with Windows XP professional, it is not reproducible. How can this issue be resolved?

• Databinding race condition

  I have a login form (using ChildWindow) and have implemented a Keyup event handler on the passwordbox. If the key is enter then it sets the ChildWindow ResultDialog to true. What seems to be happening is the databinding on the Passwordbox is not happening before the childwindow is closed so the Password property on my Login control is null. I've tried using KeyUp and Keydown, as well as using a buttonAutoPeer to invoke a click on the Ok button.   I found this useful regex code here while looking to parse HTML tag attributes: (\S+)=["']?((?:.(?!["']?\s+(?:\S+)=|[>"']))+.)["']? It works great, but it's missing one key element that I need. Some attributes are event triggers that have inline Javascript code in them like this: onclick="doSomething(this, 'foo', 'bar');return false;" Or: onclick='doSomething(this, "foo", "bar");return false;' I can't figure out how to get the original expression to not count the quotes from the JS (single or double) while it's nested inside the set of quotes that contain the attribute's value.

• Locking on an object...

  I often see code like that which is shown here, ie where an object is allocated and then used as a "lock object". It seems to me that you could use any object for this, including the event itself as the lock object. Why allocate a new object that does nothing? My understanding is that calling lock() on an object doesn't actually alter the object itself, nor does it actually lock it from being used, it's simply used as a placeholder for multiple lock statements to anchor on. So my question is, is this really a good thing to do?

• C# run Javascript from button click

  I have a button on my .aspx interstitial page. When I click it the onClick event fires off and it does a bunch of validations in the code. I have a javascript function that I need to call/run AFTER these validations are performed. This javascript function closes the interstitial page. How can I call the javascript function from my C# code? I've tried adding a script manager and a client script but neither work. What else besides these two options do I have?
