  • Force content generated by javascript to reveal itself.

    Hello, I'm generating some content through an API, accessed by javascript, and I cannot grab the source code of what is plainly displayed, post-load, on the browser. I can highlight the text and view the source of selected text (which is a firefox feature), but I will be using CURL to capture the data automatically with php... How can I capture the data? Is there a way to update the source(maybe through a DOM update) so it displays some how? Any help is appreciated.

  • Mysql - wondering about scaling a twitter-like application ?

    Hi, I'm developing an app that is vaguely similar to twitter, in that it allows users to follow one another. I wanted to do this using google app engine, for its scalability promises, but it's proving kind of difficult to get running for a few different reasons. I'd basically like to have a _users table, and a _followers table. Users go into the users table, follower relationships go into _followers. The problem is that each row in the users table will probably have like 100 corresponding records in the _followers table as users start following one another. So the number of rows is going to explode quickly. Using app engine, the volume [shouldn't] be a problem. If I go with mysql, and I do actually start to get some traction, how do I scale this up? Am I going to just end up moving to a distributed database in the end anyway? Should I fight it out with google app engine? I read that Twitter was using mysql, and they've run into this problem, and are now switching to cassandra. Thanks

    Hi, I develope an application in C#.Net 2.0, Windows. The App has a RSS Feed Reader for specific sites (to collect the biggest news). I found a very nice DLL for this in which I can very easy read the RSS. But my problem is the design, I tried a lot, how to display easy, quick and nice, but it sucks like hell, I tried nerly every control in the toolbox and fill it with the RSS Feeds and it looks ugly. So knows anybody a control to display RSS feeds nicly? I know its an copy, but no one answers there.

Only use it if the name cannot be inferred from the association. has_many :subscribers, :through = :subscriptions will look for either :subscribers or :subscriber on Subscription, unless a :source is given.   • Can you call FB.login inside a callback from other FB methods (like FB.getLoginStatus) without triggering popup blockers?

    I'm trying to set up a pretty basic authentication logic flow with the FB JavaScript SDK to check a user's logged-in status and permissions before performing an action (and prompting the user to login with permissions if they are not)... User types a message into a textarea on my site to post to their Facebook feed and click's a 'post to facebook' button on my site. In response to the click, I check user's logged in status with FB.getLoginStatus In the callback to FB.getLoginStatus, if user is not logged in, prompt them to login (FB.login). In the callback to FB.login I then need to make sure they have the right permissions so I make a call to FB.api('/me/permissions') -- if they don't , I again prompt them to login (FB.login) The problem I'm running into is that anytime I try to call FB.login inside a callback to other FB methods, the browser seems to lose track of the origin of execution (the click) and thus will block the popup. I'm wondering if I'm missing some way to prompt the user to login after checking their status without the browser mistakenly thinking that it's not a user-initiated popup? I've currently fallen back to just calling FB.login() first regardless. The undesired side effect of this approach, however, is that if the user is already logged-in with permissions and I'm still calling FB.login, the auth popup will open and close immediately before continuing, which looks rather buggy despite being functional. It seems like checking a user's login status and permissions before doing something would be a common flow so I feel like I'm missing something.   • PGU HTML Renderer can't render most sites

    I am trying to make a web browser using pygame. I am using PGU for html rendering. I am guessing the reason for this is that the if statement that checks the type of the input and creates the e variable didn't match anything. I added a line to print the _type variable and I got 'hidden' when i tried google and apple. Is there any way to render form items that have the type 'hidden' with PGU?

  • iPad --- managedObject problem when [self.tableViewSection reloadData]

    Hi , I am creating a news aggregator application that fetches a xml feed every 4 minutes. After the xml is loaded, I clear everything by deleting all the objects in the database, then save the new objects back into the database. I then call [self.tableViewSection reloadData]; to reload the tableView. Thats when I get a problem. As soon as the code gets to a section where i access the new [[managedObject valueForKey:@"event_text"] description] content it fails with a : * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSObjectInaccessibleException', reason: 'CoreData could not fulfill a fault for '0x4b3f6a0 '' Now from the flow I described on top, it seems odd to me that the tableView is populated properly the next time i launch the application, with the "new" data I fetched in the previous session. So its not that data thats corrupt , but seems to me something goes wrong when I refetch the managedObject after saving new data. Also keep in mind thats this app runs fine on the iPhone, its the iPad thats is giving me this problem.

And nothing ever gets posted to my wall on FB. Perhaps I'm not waiting long enough? How long should I need to wait before it shows up?

  • Passing report values to a query

    I'm a novice with Microsoft Access as my background is mostly .NET. I'm sure what I'm trying to accomplish is dead simple but I need some direction. I have a report and a query. The query returns a single numeric value based on a single numeric criteria. Select total from table where id = [topic] I have placed a text box on my report so I can feed the id to this query and in return get the total. It seems like DLookUp is what I want but no matter how I construct it, I get an "#Error" in the text box when I run the report. Currently my DLookUp looks like this (I just hard-coded now for simplicity): =DLookUp("[total]","myquery","[topic] = 3") How can I pass a value from a field on my report to a query so I can return the query's single numeric value?
