  • Delphi Application using COMMIT and ROLLBACK for Multiple SQL Updates

    - by Matt
Is it possible to use the SQL BEGIN TRANSACTION, COMMIT TRANSACTION, ROLLBACK TRANSACTION when embedding SQL Queries into an application with mutiple calls to the SQL for Table Updates. For example I have the following code: Q.SQL.ADD(<UPDATE A RECORD>); Q.ExecSQL; Q.Close; Q.SQL.Clear; Q.SQL.ADD(<Select Some Data>); Q.Open; Set Some Variables Q.Close; Q.SQL.Clear; Q.SQL.ADD(<UPDATE A RECORD>); Q.ExecSQL; What I would like to do is if the second update fails I want to roll back the first transaction. If I set a unique notation for the BEGIN, COMMIT, ROLLBACK so as to specify what is being committed or rolled back, is it feasible. i.e. before the first Update specify BEGIN TRANSACTION_A then after the last update specify COMMIT TRANSACTION_A I hope that makes sense. If I was doing this in a SQL Stored Procedure then I would be able to specify this at the start and end of the procedure, but I have had to break the code down into manageable chunks due to process blocks and deadlocks on a heavy loaded SQL Server.

  • Automation Error when exporting Excel data to SQL Server

    - by brohjoe
I'm getting an Automation error upon running VBA code in Excel 2007. I'm attempting to connect to a remote SQL Server DB and load data to from Excel to SQL Server. The error I get is, "Run-time error '-2147217843(80040e4d)': Automation error". I checked out the MSDN site and it suggested that this may be due to a bug associated with the sqloledb provider and one way to mitigate this is to use ODBC. Well I changed the connection string to reflect ODBC provider and associated parameters and I'm still getting the same error. Here is the code with ODBC as the provider: Dim cnt As ADODB.Connection Dim rst As ADODB.Recordset Dim stSQL As String Dim wbBook As Workbook Dim wsSheet As Worksheet Dim rnStart As Range Public Sub loadData() 'This was set up using Microsoft ActiveX Data Components version 6.0. 'Create ADODB connection object, open connection and construct the connection string object. Set cnt = New ADODB.Connection cnt.ConnectionString = "Driver={SQL Server}; Server=onlineSQLServer2010.foo.com; Database=fooDB;Uid=logonalready;Pwd='helpmeOB1';" cnt.Open On Error GoTo ErrorHandler 'Open Excel and run query to export data to SQL Server. strSQL = "SELECT * INTO SalesOrders FROM OPENDATASOURCE('Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0'," & _ "'Data Source=C:\Database.xlsx; Extended Properties=Excel 12.0')...[SalesOrders$]" cnt.Execute (strSQL) 'Error handling. ErrorExit: 'Reclaim memory from the connection objects Set rst = Nothing Set cnt = Nothing Exit Sub ErrorHandler: MsgBox Err.Description, vbCritical Resume ErrorExit 'clean up and reclaim memory resources. If CBool(cnt.State And adStateOpen) Then Set rst = Nothing Set cnt = Nothing cnt.Close End If End Sub

  • How do you keep the text selection on a DataGridView?

    - by fneep
I'm running C# 2.0, and I've written an application with a DataGridView in virtualmode and a TreeView in the same form, but in different panels of a SplitContainer. My application has a "find all" function that finds all instances of a certain string, and adds them as the child nodes to a new node to the TreeView (it's a tree view because you can have multiple search results by having different root nodes). That idea is that when you click on one of those search results in the TreeView, that it would select the specific text of that result in the DataGridView (Virtually the same as Notepad++'s find all function) When I click on the TreeView, it does set the selected cell of the DataGridView and highlight the specific text, but it loses that specific text selection instantly (but keeps the cell selection) because by clicking on the TreeView the DataGridView loses focus. Here's the code for the AfterSelect of the TreeView: private void Tree_Results_AfterSelect(object sender, TreeViewEventArgs e) { if (e.Node.Level > 0) { SearchResult SelectedItem = (SearchResult)Tree_Results.SelectedNode.Tag; DataViewMain.CurrentCell = DataViewMain[SelectedItem.TypeIndex, SelectedItem.LineIndex]; DataViewMain.BeginEdit(false); DataGridViewTextBoxEditingControl SelectionData = (DataGridViewTextBoxEditingControl)DataViewMain.EditingControl; SelectionData.SelectionStart = SelectedItem.HighlightStart; SelectionData.SelectionLength = SelectedItem.HightlightLength; } } If the DataGridView were a text box I could possibly set HideSelection to false, but DataGridViews have no such property (and changing the Hide Selection for the EditingControl does nothing) Any ideas? I'm receptive to a different control instead of a TreeView that would allow my DataGridView to retain focus.

  • Problem with .Contains

    - by Rene
Hello there, I have a little problem which i can't solve. I want to use an SQL-In-Statement in Linq. I've read in this Forum and in other Forums that I have to use the .Contains (with reverse-thinking-notation :-)). As input i have a List of Guids. I first copied them into an array and then did something like that : datatoget = (from p in objectContext.MyDataSet where ArrayToSearch.Contains(p.Subtable.Id.ToString()) select p).ToList(); datatoget is the result in which all records matching the Subtable.Id (which is a Guid) should be stored. Subtable is a Detail-Table from MyData, and the Id is a Guid-Type. I've tried several things (Convert Guid to String, and then using .Contains, etc), but I always get an Exception which says : 'Linq to Entities' doesn't recognize the Method 'Boolean Contains(System.Guid) and is not able to Translate this method into a memory expression. (Something like that, because I'm using the German Version of VS2008) I am using L2E with .NET 3.5 and am programming in C# with VS 2008. I've read several Examples, but it doesn't work. Is it perhaps because of using Guid's instead of strings ? I've also tried to write my own compare-function, but I don't know how to integrate it so that .NET calls my function for comparing.

  • HELP with XML to XML transformation using XSLT.

    - by kaniths
Am a rookie trying XSLT and XML tranformations for the first time. To start off, i tried a simple sample programs. I expected the Output in Tree format (maintaining the hierarchy) instead i just get " KING" in single line... What could be the problem? PS: I use XMLSpy. Any guideline would be great full. Thanks :) Input XML: <ROWSET> <ROW> <EMPNO>7839</EMPNO> <ENAME>KING</ENAME> </ROW> </ROWSET> XSL used for transformation: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes" omit-xml-declaration="no"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <Invitation> <To> <xsl:value-of select="ROWSET/ROW/ENAME"/> </To> </Invitation> </xsl:template>

  • Blocking on DBCP connection pool (open and close connnection). Is database connection pooling in OpenEJB pluggable?

    - by topchef
We use OpenEJB on Tomcat (used to run on JBoss, Weblogic, etc.). While running load tests we experience significant performance problems with handling JMS messages (queues). Problem was localized to blocking on database connection pool getting or releasing connection to the pool. Blocking prevented concurrent MDB instances (threads) from running hence performance suffered 10-fold and worse. The same code used to run on application servers (with their respective connection pool implementations) with no blocking at all. Example of thread blocked: Name: JMS Resource Adapter-worker-23 State: BLOCKED on org.apache.commons.pool.impl.GenericObjectPool@1ea6b4a owned by: JMS Resource Adapter-worker-19 Total blocked: 18,426 Total waited: 0 Stack trace: org.apache.commons.pool.impl.GenericObjectPool.returnObject(GenericObjectPool.java:916) org.apache.commons.dbcp.PoolableConnection.close(PoolableConnection.java:91) - locked org.apache.commons.dbcp.PoolableConnection@1bcba8 org.apache.commons.dbcp.managed.ManagedConnection.close(ManagedConnection.java:147) com.xxxxx.persistence.DbHelper.closeConnection(DbHelper.java:290) .... Couple of questions. I am almost certain that some transactional attributes and properties contribute to this blocking, but MDBs are defined as non-transactional (we use both annotations and ejb-jar.xml). Some EJBs do use container-managed transactions though (and we can observe blocking there as well). Are there any DBCP configurations that may fix blocking? Is DBCP connection pool implementation replaceable in OpenEJB? How easy (difficult) to replace it with another library? Just in case this is how we define data source in OpenEJB (openejb.xml): <Resource id="MyDataSource" type="DataSource"> JdbcDriver oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver JdbcUrl ${oracle.jdbc} UserName ${oracle.user} Password ${oracle.password} JtaManaged true InitialSize 5 MaxActive 30 ValidationQuery SELECT 1 FROM DUAL TestOnBorrow true </Resource>

  • Custom listbox sorting

    - by Arcadian
I need to sort the data contained within a number of listboxes. The user will be able to select between two different types of sorting using radio boxes, one of which is checked by default on form load. I have created the IF statements needed in order to test whether the checked condition is true for that radio button. but i need some help to create the custom sort algorithms. Each list with contain similar looking data, the only difference in the prefix with which each line starts. For example each line in the first listbox starts with the prefix "G30" and the second listbox will be "G31" and so on. There are 10 listboxes in total (G30-G39 in terms of prefixes). The first search algorithm has to sort the lines by the number order of the first 13 chars. Example: This is how the data looks before sorting G35:45:58:11 JG07 G35:45:20:41 JG01 G35:58:20:21 JG03 G35:66:22:20 JG05 G35:45:85:21 JG02 G35:64:56:11 JG03 G35:76:35:11 JG02 G35:77:97:12 JG03 G35:54:29:11 JG01 G35:55:51:20 JG01 G35:76:24:20 JG06 G35:76:55:11 JG01 and this is how it should look after sorting G35:45:20:41 JG01 G35:45:58:11 JG07 G35:45:85:21 JG02 G35:54:29:11 JG01 G35:55:51:20 JG01 G35:58:20:21 JG03 G35:64:56:11 JG03 G35:66:22:20 JG05 G35:76:24:20 JG06 G35:76:35:11 JG02 G35:76:55:11 JG01 G35:77:97:12 JG03 as you can see, the prefixes are the same. so it is sorted, lowest first, by the next pair integers, then the next pair and the next but not by the value after "JG". the second sort algorithm will ignore the first 13 chars and sort by order of the value after "JG", highest first. any help? theres some rep in it for you :) thanks in advance

  • handling DATETIME values 0000-00-00 00:00:00 in JDBC

    - by Jason S
I get an exception (see below) if I try to do resultset.getString("add_date"); for a JDBC connection to a MySQL database containing a DATETIME value of 0000-00-00 00:00:00 (the quasi-null value for DATETIME), even though I'm just trying to get the value as string, not as an object. I got around this by doing SELECT CAST(add_date AS CHAR) as add_date which works, but seems silly... is there a better way to do this? My point is that I just want the raw DATETIME string, so I can parse it myself as is. note: here's where the 0000 comes in: (from http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/datetime.html) Illegal DATETIME, DATE, or TIMESTAMP values are converted to the “zero” value of the appropriate type ('0000-00-00 00:00:00' or '0000-00-00'). The specific exception is this one: SQLException: Cannot convert value '0000-00-00 00:00:00' from column 5 to TIMESTAMP. SQLState: S1009 VendorError: 0 java.sql.SQLException: Cannot convert value '0000-00-00 00:00:00' from column 5 to TIMESTAMP. at com.mysql.jdbc.SQLError.createSQLException(SQLError.java:1055) at com.mysql.jdbc.SQLError.createSQLException(SQLError.java:956) at com.mysql.jdbc.SQLError.createSQLException(SQLError.java:926) at com.mysql.jdbc.ResultSetImpl.getTimestampFromString(ResultSetImpl.java:6343) at com.mysql.jdbc.ResultSetImpl.getStringInternal(ResultSetImpl.java:5670) at com.mysql.jdbc.ResultSetImpl.getString(ResultSetImpl.java:5491) at com.mysql.jdbc.ResultSetImpl.getString(ResultSetImpl.java:5531)

  • Why do I have to unserialize this serialized value twice? (wordpress/bbpress maybe_serialize)

    - by 55skidoo
    What am I doing wrong here? I'm serializing a value, storing it in a database (table bb_meta), retrieving it... OK so far... but then I have to unserialize it twice. Shouldn't I be able to just unserialize once? This seems to work, but I'm wondering what point about serialization I'm missing here. //check database to see if user has ever visited before. $querystring = $bbdb->prepare( "SELECT `meta_value` FROM `$bbdb->meta` WHERE `object_type` = %s AND `object_id` = %s AND `meta_key` = %s LIMIT 1", $bbtype, $bb_this_thread, $bbuser ); $bb_last_visits = $bbdb->get_row($querystring, OBJECT); //if $bb_last_visits is empty, add time() as the metavalue using bb_update_meta if (empty($bb_last_visits)) { $first_visit = time(); echo 'serialized first visit: ' . $bb_this_visit_time_serialized = serialize(array($bb_this_thread => $first_visit)); bb_update_meta( $bb_this_thread, $bbuser, $bb_this_visit_time_serialized, $bbtype ); //add to database, bb_meta table echo '$bb_last_visits was empty. Setting first visit time as ' . $bb_this_visit_time_serialized . '<br>'; } else { //else, test by unserializing the data for use. echo 'last visit time already set: '; echo $bb_last_visits->meta_value; echo '<br>'; //fatal error - echo 'unserialized: ' . $bb_last_visits_unserialized = unserialize($bb_last_visits[0]->meta_value); echo '<br>'; echo 'unserialize: ' . $unserialized_visits = unserialize($bb_last_visits->meta_value); echo '<br>'; echo 'hmm, need to unserialize again??: '; echo $unserialized_unserialized_visits = unserialize($unserialized_visits); echo '<br>'; echo 'hey look, it\'s an array value I can finally use now. phew: ' . $unserialized_unserialized_visits[$bb_this_thread]; }

  • Database Design Question regaurding duplicate information.

    - by galford13x
I have a database that contains a history of product sales. For example the following table CREATE TABLE SalesHistoryTable ( OrderID, // Order Number Unique to all orders ProductID, // Product ID can be used as a Key to look up product info in another table Price, // Price of the product per unit at the time of the order Quantity, // quantity of the product for the order Total, // total cost of the order for the product. (Price * Quantity) Date, // Date of the order StoreID, // The store that created the Order PRIMARY KEY(OrderID)); The table will eventually have millions of transactions. From this, profiles can be created for products in different geographical regions (based on the StoreID). Creating these profiles can be very time consuming as a database query. For example. SELECT ProductID, StoreID, SUM(Total) AS Total, SUM(Quantity) QTY, SUM(Total)/SUM(Quantity) AS AvgPrice FROM SalesHistoryTable GROUP BY ProductID, StoreID; The above query could be used to get the Information based on products for any particular store. You could then determine which store has sold the most, has made the most money, and on average sells for the most/least. This would be very costly to use as a normal query run anytime. What are some design descisions in order to allow these types of queries to run faster assuming storage size isn’t an issue. For example, I could create another Table with duplicate information. Store ID (Key), Product ID, TotalCost, QTY, AvgPrice And provide a trigger so that when a new order is received, the entry for that store is updated in a new table. The cost for the update is almost nothing. What should be considered when given the above scenario?

  • jQuery Autocomplete & jTemplates - handling response

    - by Diegos Grace
Has anyone had any experience with using jTemplates to display autocomplete results. I have the following $("#address-search").autocomplete({ source: "/Address/SearchAddress", minLength: 2, delay: 400, focus: function (event, ui) { $('#address-search').val(ui.item.name); return false; }, parse: function(data) { $("#autocomplete-results").setTemplate($("#templateHolder").html()); $("#autocomplete-results").processTemplate(data); }, select: function (event, ui) { $('#address-search').val(ui.item.name); $('#search-address-id').val(ui.item.id); $('#search-description').html(ui.item.address); }); and the simple jtemplate holder: <script type="text/html" id="templateHolder"> <ul class="autocomplete"> {#foreach $T as data} <li>{$T.name}</li> {#/for} </ul> </script> Above i'm using 'Parse' to format results, I've also tried the autocomplete result method but not having any luck so far. The only success I've had is by using the private method ._renderItem and formatting the data that way but we want to render the output using the jTemplate. Any advice appreciated.

  • how to 'scale' these three tables?

    - by iddqd
I have the following Tables: Players id playerName Weapons id type otherData Weapons2Player id playersID_reference weaponsID_reference That was nice and simple. Now I need to SELECT items from the Weapons table, according to some of their characteristics that i previously just packed into the otherData column (since it was only needed on the client side). The problem is, that the types have varying characteristics - but also a lot of similar data. So I'm trying to decide on the following possibilities, all of which have their pros and cons. Solution A Kill the Weapons table, and create a new table for each Weapon-Type: Weapons_Swords id bladeType damage otherData Weapons_Guns id accuracy damage ammoType otherData But how will i Link these to the Players ? create Weapons_Swords2Players, Weapons_Guns2Players for each weapon-type? (Will result in a lot more JOINS when loading the player with all his weapons...and it's also more complicated to insert a new player) or add another column to Weapons2Players called WeaponsTypeTable, then do sub-selects to the correct Weapons sub-table (seems easier, but not really right, slightly easier insert i guess) Solution B Keep the Weapons table, and add all the fields i need to it. The Problem is that then there will be NULL fields, since not all Weapon-Types use all fields (can't be right) Weapons id type accuracy damage ammoType bladeType otherData This seems to be pretty basic stuff, but i just can't decide what's best. Or is there a correct Solution C? many thanks.

  • autocommit and @Transactional and Cascading with spring, jpa and hibernate

    - by subes
Hi, what I would like to accomplish is the following: have autocommit enabled so per default all queries get commited if there is a @Transactional on a method, it overrides the autocommit and encloses all queries into a single transaction, thus overriding the autocommit if there is a @Transactional method that calls other @Transactional annotated methods, the outer most annotation should override the inner annotaions and create a larger transaction, thus annotations also override eachother I am currently still learning about spring-orm and couldn't find documentation about this and don't have a test project for this yet. So my questions are: What is the default behaviour of transactions in spring? If the default differs from my requirement, is there a way to configure my desired behaviour? Or is there a totally different best practice for transactions? --EDIT-- I have the following test-setup: @javax.persistence.Entity public class Entity { @Id @GeneratedValue private Integer id; private String name; public Integer getId() { return id; } public void setId(Integer id) { this.id = id; } public String getName() { return name; } public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } } @Repository public class Dao { @PersistenceContext private EntityManager em; public void insert(Entity ent) { em.persist(ent); } @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") public List<Entity> selectAll() { List<Entity> ents = em.createQuery("select e from " + Entity.class.getName() + " e").getResultList(); return ents; } } If I have it like this, even with autocommit enabled in hibernate, the insert method does nothing. I have to add @Transactional to the insert or the method calling insert for it to work... Is there a way to make @Transactional completely optional?

  • C#+BDE+DBF problem

    - by Drabuna
I have huge problem: I have lots of .dbf files(~50000) and I need to import them into Oracle database. I open conncection like this: OleDbConnection oConn = new OleDbConnection(); OleDbCommand oCmd = new OleDbCommand(); oConn.ConnectionString = @"Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" + directory + ";Extended Properties=dBASE IV;User ID=Admin;Password="; oCmd.Connection = oConn; oCmd.CommandText = @"SELECT * FROM " + tablename; try { oConn.Open(); resultTable.Load(oCmd.ExecuteReader()); } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.Message); } oConn.Close(); oCmd.Dispose(); oConn.Dispose(); I read them in loop, and then insert into oracle. Everything's fine. BUT: There is about 1000 files, that I can't open. They raise exception "not a table". So I google, and install Borland Database Engine. Now everything wokrs fine....but no. Now, when I'm reading files, on 1024 file exception raises: "System resource exceeded". But I have lots of free resources. When I remove BDE, everything's fine again, no "system resource exceeded" error, but I cant read all files. Help please. PS: Tried using ODBC but nothing changes.

  • using indexer to retrieve Linq to SQL object from datastore

    - by fearofawhackplanet
class UserDatastore : IUserDatastore { ... public IUser this[Guid userId] { get { User user = (from u in _dataContext.Users where u.Id == userId select u).FirstOrDefault(); return user; } } ... } One of the developers in our team is arguing that an indexer in the above situation is not appropriate and that a GetUser(Guid id) method should be prefered. The arguments being that: 1) We aren't indexing into an in-memory collection, the indexer is basically performing a hidden SQL query 2) Using a Guid in an indexer is bad (FxCop flagged this also) 3) Returning null from an indexer isn't normal behaviour 4) An API user generally wouldn't expect any of this behaviour I agree to an extent with (most of) these points. But I'm also inclined to argue that one of the characteristics of Linq is to abstract the database access to make it appear that you're simply working with a bunch of collections, even though the lazy evaluation paradigm means those collections aren't evaluated until you run a query over them. It doesn't seem inconsistent to me to access the datastore in the same manner as if it was a concrete in-memory collection here. Also bearing in mind this is an inherited codebase which uses this pattern extensively and consistently, is it worth the refactoring? I accept that it might have been better to use a Get method from the start, but I'm not yet convinced that it's completely incorrect to be using an indexer. I'd be interested to hear all opinions, thanks.

  • How to move the Windows 7 bootloader to the Windows 7 partition?

    - by pauldoo
I recently installed Windows 7 in a triple boot setup alongside XP and Linux. When I was finished and was in the process of restoring the bootloader for Linux I discovered something strange about what Windows 7 had done. I discovered that Windows 7 had not installed a bootloader to it's own partition, and instead had instead set up a bootloader on the pre-existing XP partition that offers a choice between 7 and XP. This behaviour has been noticed by others. Now my booting is slightly odd. I have GRUB on the MBR which lets me choose between Linux and Windows. When I select Windows I have Grub boot to the XP partition where I get the 2nd choice between 7 and XP. Why doesn't the Windows 7 installer put the Windows 7 bootloader on the Windows 7 partition like all previous MS OSs? This is now going to be a real problem for me, as I now want to wipe the XP partition and install something else there (probably another non-MS OS). How can I move the bootloader for Windows 7 onto the Windows 7 partition, thus making it bootable and allowing me to safely wipe the XP partition?

  • jeditable not updating browser display - leaves "click to edit..." after succesful edit

    - by Enoch
    I am using jeditable fairly simply and it all works fine, updates the database, etc. The only problem I have is after the user types the new value data and hits enter it doesn't update the field in the browser to show the new value - instead it puts "Click to edit..." in place of it. Am I missing something like a return value from my php file? the php fucntion just takes the args and updates the database - and it works fine. Enoch the jquery\jeditable code $('.edit').editable('update.php',{ id: 'field', name: 'val', indicator: 'Saving...', tooltip: 'Click to edit...', select : true, submitdata : { db : "pers", kn : "key", rec : "?php echo $rec; ?" } }); the div <div class="edit" id="svc_ad1"><?php echo $row-svc_ad1; ?>< /div> i also have a css class for pEdit edit{ float:left; width:200px; height:15px; margin-bottom:5px; border-bottom:1px solid #aaaaaa; }

  • What permissions do I need to grant to run RavenDB in Server mode?

    - by dalesmithtx
I'm reading through Rob Ashton's excellent blog post on RavenDB: http://codeofrob.com/archive/2010/05/09/ravendb-an-introduction.aspx and I'm working through the code as I read. But when I try to add an index, I get a 401 error. Here's the code: class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { using (var documentStore = new DocumentStore() { Url = "http://localhost:8080" }) { documentStore.Initialise(); documentStore.DatabaseCommands.PutIndex( "BasicEntityBySomeData", new IndexDefinition<BasicEntity, BasicEntity>() { Map = docs => from doc in docs where doc.SomeData != null select new { SomeData = doc.SomeData }, }); string entityId; using (var documentSession = documentStore.OpenSession()) { var entity = new BasicEntity() { SomeData = "Hello, World!", SomeOtherData = "This is just another property", }; documentSession.Store(entity); documentSession.SaveChanges(); entityId = entity.Id; var loadedEntity = documentSession.Load<BasicEntity>(entityId); Console.WriteLine(loadedEntity.SomeData); var docs = documentSession.Query<BasicEntity>("BasicEntityBySomeData") .Where("SomeData:Hello~") .WaitForNonStaleResults() .ToArray(); docs.ToList().ForEach(doc => Console.WriteLine(doc.SomeData)); Console.Read(); } } } It throws the 401 error when on the line that makes the PutIndex() call. Any ideas what permissions I need to apply? And where I need to apply them?

  • Read alphanumeric characters from csv file in C#

    - by Prasad
I am using the following code to read my csv file: public DataTable ParseCSV(string path) { if (!File.Exists(path)) return null; string full = Path.GetFullPath(path); string file = Path.GetFileName(full); string dir = Path.GetDirectoryName(full); //create the "database" connection string string connString = "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;" + "Data Source=\"" + dir + "\\\";" + "Extended Properties=\"text;HDR=Yes;FMT=Delimited;IMEX=1\""; //create the database query string query = "SELECT * FROM " + file; //create a DataTable to hold the query results DataTable dTable = new DataTable(); //create an OleDbDataAdapter to execute the query OleDbDataAdapter dAdapter = new OleDbDataAdapter(query, connString); //fill the DataTable dAdapter.Fill(dTable); dAdapter.Dispose(); return dTable; } But the above doesn't reads the alphanumeric value from the csv file. it reads only i either numeric or alpha. Whats the fix i need to make to read the alphanumeric values? Please suggest.

  • Quering container with Linq + group by ?

    - by Prix
public class ItemList { public int GuID { get; set; } public int ItemID { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public entityType Status { get; set; } public class Waypoint { public int Zone { get; set; } public int SubID { get; set; } public int Heading { get; set; } public float PosX { get; set; } public float PosY { get; set; } public float PosZ { get; set; } } public List<Waypoint> Routes = new List<Waypoint>(); } I have a list of items using the above class and now I need to group it by ItemID and join the first entry of Routes of each iqual ItemID. So for example, let's say on my list I have: GUID ItemID ListOfRoutes 1 23 first entry only 2 23 first entry only 3 23 first entry only 4 23 first entry only 5 23 first entry only 6 23 first entry only 7 23 first entry only Means I have to group entries 1 to 7 as 1 Item with all the Routes entries. So I would have one ItemID 23 with 7 Routes on it where those routes are the first element of that given GUID Routes List. My question is if it is possible using LINQ to make a statment to do something like that this: var query = from ItemList entry in myList where status.Contains(entry.Status) group entry by entry.ItemID into result select new { items = new { ID = entry.ItemID, Name = entry.Name }, routes = from ItemList m in entry group m.Routes.FirstOrDefault() by n.NpcID into m2 }; So basicly I would have list of unique IDS information with a inner list of all the first entry of each GUID route that had the same ItemID.

  • Dojo Widgets not rendering when returned in response to XhrPost

    - by lazynerd
I am trying to capture the selected item in a Dijit Tree widget to render remaining part of the web page. Here is the code that captures the selected item and sends it to Django backend: <div dojoType="dijit.Tree" id="leftTree" store="leftTreeStore" childrenAttr="folders" query="{type:'folder'}" label="Explorer"> <script type="dojo/method" event="onClick" args="item"> alert("Execute of node " + termStore.getLabel(item)); var xhrArgs = { url: "/load-the-center-part-of-page", handleAs: "text", postData: dojo.toJson(leftTreeStore.getLabel(item), true), load: function(data) { dojo.byId("centerPane").innerHTML = data; //window.location = data; }, error: function(error) { dojo.byId("centerPane").innerHTML = "<p>Error in loading...</p>"; } } dojo.byId("centerPane").innerHTML = "<p>Loading...</p>"; var deferred = dojo.xhrPost(xhrArgs); </script> </div> The remaining part of the page contains HTML code with dojo widgets. This is the code sent back as 'response' to the select item event. Here is a snippet: <div dojoType="dijit.layout.TabContainer" id="tabs" jsId="tabs"> <div dojoType="dijit.layout.BorderContainer" title="Dashboard"> <div dojoType="dijit.layout.ContentPane" region="bottom"> first tab </div> </div> <div dojoType="dijit.layout.BorderContainer" title="Compare"> <div dojoType="dijit.layout.ContentPane" region="bottom"> Second Tab </div> </div> </div> It renders this html 'response' but without the dojo widgets. Is handleAs: "text" in XhrPost the culprit here?
