  • Mac OSX: Adobe Flash player 10.1.85.3 text issue

    Running Flash Player 10.1.85.3. on OS-X 10.6.4 I've run into a very strange issue with Adobe/Macromedia Flash. Text in dialogs sometimes is not displayed, and the containing boxes are distorted. It occurs in all browsers. This is best demonstrated on YouTube in some of their ads, as well as in Google Analytics overlays on graphs. You can see the issue here: As you can see, where I have moused over the high point, there should be a dialog with some text, but instead it is quite broken. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Flash plugin several times, reinstalling Google Chrome, validating my fonts with FontBook (removed all dupes/ fonts with warnings). Also as a last resort I checked/ repaired perms on my disk. What should I do?

  • External USB Fingerprint Reader for Pre-boot Authentication for Dell Laptop

    My company just purchased several Dell Latitude E6500 laptops with docking stations and external monitors. These laptops have a fingerprint scanner located next to the keyboard. DOCKED users who prefer to use the included fingerprint scanner for pre-boot authentication are forced to open their laptop in order to access the scanner. This is an inconvenience when the laptop is docked. We are looking for an external, usb fingerprint scanner, that will work with the current preboot authentication setup. I assume that this scanner would have to access the existing credentials for authentication....wherever they are stored. So we would require something that would work PRE-BOOT, use the existing credentials, and not interfere with usage when the machine was not docked, such as when the laptop is being used at home. Does anyone have experience with this scenario? Thanks.

    I went to the apple store today to discuss a problem with my iPhone battery, and they plugged it into one of their macs and used an application that interpreted the logs stored on my phone. So, my question is, does anybody know the name of the application that reads the logs, and if so, where it is available? Since it is a diagnostic tool, I'm guessing it won't be openly available, but I thought i would ask anyway.

  • Adobe Encore CS4 DVD Menu Button Not Functioning

    Hello, I've built a DVD in Adobe Encore CS4, and everything works great in the preview. However, when I go and burn to DVD, we have one issue. On the DVD menu, there are two text buttons, with no background when unselected, and have a background when selected. That allows the user to know which is selected. Like I said, everything works great in the preview, but the background that is supposed to appear when the button is selected does not. The buttons work, but there is no background when selected.   • Adobe software does not save to network share

    I'm running Windows 7 inside virtualbox on a linux host. I have shared my linux filesystem so it's accesible in Windows under \vboxsvr\sharename. I've mounted this share on S:. For most software, it works fine. Adobe software like Photoshop has problems with it though. I can read from S: just fine, but if I try to save something it gives me the message "There are no more files". How can I make it able to write to the share?

  • Printing Booklet Page Size in Adobe Reader 4-in-1

    So I have a 70 page pdf document that I'm trying to condense to a small booklet. I tried creating a formula to manually to perform it but it got ugly fast. 35,36,34,37,17,54,16,55,33,38,32,39,15,56,14,57,31,40,30,41,13,58,12,59 29,42,28,43,11,60,10,61,27,44,26,45,9,62,8,63,25,46,24,47,7,64,6,65 23,48,22,49,5,66,4,67,21,50,20,51,3,68,2,69,19,52,18,53,1,70 Once I print the booklet I should be able to cut the sheets in half and set the bottom half behind the top and staple it for a simple book. Which means Page 1 should have pages 35,36,17,54,34,37,16,55 Page 2 should have pages 33,38,15,56,32,39,14,57 And several pages later Page 9 should have pages 19,52,1,70,18,53 But manually doing this is a headache and it seems like the booklet function should contain functionality that can perform this. I'm using a commercial Konica Minolta C452

  • alternatives to accessing google reader with oauth?

    I'm really new to this oauth stuff. I want to access a user's google reader liked items feed. This blog says that oauth doesn't work (yet) with google reader. The working way seems to be to get the user's google credentials (email, password) directly, and login directly to google. This also gives me access to the rest of their services. Is there a better way, or must the user trust me with their google credentials?

  • Adobe Reader unable to open downloaded file in IE6

    I'm working on a web app that allows users to downloaded dynamically generated PDF files. This works fine in IE8 and Firefox but fails in IE6 with Adobe Reader giving the message "there was an error opening this document. this file cannot be found" If I save the file to disk first then it opens fine in Reader. I've given the file a simple short filename, without spaces so not sure what else to try. Any suggestions are very welcome.

  • Is Adobe Flash 11.2 working with Nvidia hardware again in 12.04?

    I installed the newest Nvidia-Linux drivers version number 304.43 on 12.04 installation and all Flash Videos now show me "accelerated video rendering". Previous Nvidia drivers + Adobe Flash only rendered in software, at least since Adobe officially said they turned off "hardware acceleration" for Linux, because of unstable and unsecure drivers. Has this changed? Is hardware acceleration really back? Can anyone verify this as well? The Nvidia driver 304.43 patch notes said: Fixed a bug that caused VDPAU to hang when expanding the YouTube Flash Player. Hardware: Nvidia 8600M GT

  • Adobe premiere CS5 problem with the display driver

    This error is really hindering our project. I get an error, it started showing-up June 16th 2010. There are no windows updates at the on the same date as the error, other than (Windows Defender) Seems to happen when working with Image overlays. ERROR: "The NVIDIA OpenGL driver detected a problem with the display driver and is unable to continue. The application must close." We opened the side of the case in the possibility there is an over heating problem. Nvidia Driver ver 8.16.11.9175 (nVidia Quadro FX 1700) I am running: Windows 7 x64 Adobe premiere CS5 Production nVidia Quadro FX 1700 (MRGA14L) 4 Gig ram RAID 10 2 750GB drives Duo core 3.0 6MB L2 Cache This is at least three other people that have come across this error: NVidia Forum EVGA Forum NVidia Forum UPDATE: Having the case open did not help. I also installed New Nvidia drivers now I get a different error: *ERROR:*Your hardware configuration does not meet minimum specifications needed to run the application. The application must close. I ran Windows Update and installed all four updates so now I am waiting to see if the error occurs again. Anything beyond this I am out of options.

    I am able to successfully get the SID (SessionID) for my Google Reader account. In order to obtain the feed and do other operations inside Google Reader, you have to obtain an authorization token. I'm having trouble doing this.     Hello I'm creating a simple AIR app with resize-functionality. Of course i need to position a resize-arrow to the bottom-right corner.   • [Adobe Air] Can I catch a mouseUp event of an mx:Window that did not fire hte mouseDown?

    Hi, In an AIR application, I have one mx:TileList with several images. What I need to do is let the user drag and drop one of the images on the desktop, giving a feeling of a desktop widget. Firstly I tried to implement this using dragStart etc, but in the end I think it is easier to handle mouseDown and mouseUp on the TileList. In general the whole setup works as desired. When a mouseDown is detected on the TileList, I create a transparent mx:Window containing the corresponding image, and call the startMove() on the Window to simulate a dragging behavior. If I release the mouse, the Window stops moving as desired. My problem is that now I want some visual feedback during dragging. It works while the Window is moving, however I can't find a way to stop it when the user releases the mouse. The mouseUp is not fired from the TileList, nor from the s:WindowedApplication. I also tried to add a listener to the Window itself, but still with no luck.     Brief history domain.com was associated with a blogspot. domain.com changed to an institutional site and features a small code instructing which file should be retrieved by RSS readers. <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" href="http://domain.tumblr.com/rss" /> Google Reader didn't update the RSS to the new blog. domain.com/blog retrieves the posts correctly because it was never used for that purpose in the older blog. How is it possible to force Google Reader to update the cached information? I tried using another RSS reader and it worked perfectly with the new domain. However, when I tried to follow domain.com in another Google Reader account, it still showed the posts from the older blog. It's been almost a month that the aforementioned changes were made.
