  • jquery datepicker and aspx TextBox visible problem

    - by senzacionale
    $(".inputTypeDate").datepicker({ dateFormat: "dd.mm.yy", changeMonth: true, changeYear: true }); <asp:TextBox ID="txtBirthday" runat="server" CssClass="inputTypeDate" Visible="false" ValidationGroup="urgent"></asp:TextBox> in aspx we have some component set to Visible="false" then we change visibility to true. But jquery datepicker calendar does not work in this component. If Visible="true" by default then works. Why and how to fix that. I think that problem is in changing visibility.

  • Asp.Net - Can a LinkButton.CommandArgument be typed?

    - by Stimul8d
    Okay so given a LinkButton inside a the ItemTemplate of a Repeater declared like this - <asp:LinkButton ID="restrictionDelete" runat="server" CssClass="restrictionDelete" Text="Delete..." OnCommand="lnkDeleteRestriction_Command" CommandName="Delete" CommandArgument="<%# Container.DataItem %>"></asp:LinkButton> Now,..the repeater is being bound to a list of Restriction objects so when the lnkDeleteRestriction_Command is fired I'm expecting that I can cast the CommandEventArgs.CommandArgument which is an object to my Restriction type. This doesn't seem to be so,..I just get the fully qualified type name as a string. Can I receive a typed command argument at all and if not, why is it an object? Thanks in advance,

  • Selecting radiobuttons populated within asp.net RadioButtonList with jQuery

    - by user194881
    Hello and thanks in advance for the communal help I always find here. I have been tinkering around with what should seem a pretty straight forward task even for a jQuery newb as myself. I have a radiobuttonlist control bound to a collection: <asp:RadioButtonList ID="radBtnLstPackageSelector" runat="server" CssClass="PackageS"> </asp:RadioButtonList> My form does have several other controls of the same type; Now, the challenge is to select and wire up a on Click event for every radiobutton from the radBtnLstPackageSelector. I have tried several approaches such as: var results1 = $(".PackageS").children("input"); var results1 = $(".PackageS").children("input[type=radiobutton"); var results1 = $("table.PackageS > input[type=radiobutton"); with no luck... Your help would be great right now! ~m

  • Issue with Multiple ModalPopups, ValidationSummary and UpdatePanels

    - by Aaron Hoffman
    I am having an issue when a page contains multiple ModalPopups each containing a ValidationSummary Control. Here is the functionality I need: A user clicks a button and a Modal Popup appears with dynamic content based on the button that was clicked. (This functionality is working. Buttons are wrapped in UpdatePanels and the partial page postback calls .Show() on the ModalPopup) "Save" button in ModalPopup causes client side validation, then causes a full page postback so the entire ModalPopup disappears. (ModalPopup could disappear another way - the ModalPopup just needs to disappear after a successful save operation) If errors occur in the codebehind during Save operation, messages are added to the ValidationSummary (contained within the ModalPopup) and the ModalPopup is displayed again. When the ValidationSummary's are added to the PopupPanel's, the ModalPopups no longer display correctly after a full page postback caused by the "Save" button within the second PopupPanel. (the first panel continues to function correctly) Both PopupPanels are displayed, and neither is "Popped-Up", they are displayed in-line. Any ideas on how to solve this? I'm running Visual Studio 2008 through the Virtual Server. I just put a button: <asp:Button ID="btnRegister" runat="server" Text="Register" CssClass="bt_register" onclick="btnRegister_Click" /> On a login user control, the onclick event is just a simple response.redirect Response.Redirect("~/register.aspx"); Debugging the project, it isn't even hitting the btnRegister_Click method anyway. I'm not sure where to even begin with debugging this error. Any information will help. I can post all the code I have, but like I said, I'm not sure where this error is even being thrown at. Edit It has nothing at all to do with the button click event. I got rid of the method and the onclick parameter on the aspx page. Still coming up with the same error problem found Okay so this is for a school project and its a group project. Some one in my group thought it would be a good idea to wrap a form tag around this area telling it to post. Found it doing a diff with a revision on Google code.

  • How to programmatically set the ContextKey of an AutoComplete Extender placed in a gridviews footer

    - by rism
    As per the thread title I want to programmatically set the ContextKey of an AutoComplete Extender placed in a gridviews footer row. Background is I have a data model that has Territory and Journey Plans for those territories. Customers need to be added to the journey plans but only those customers that belong to the Territory that owns the Journey Plan. In the footer row of my grid I have added a textbox which allows a user to enter account code of customer. Attached to this textbox is an autocomplete extender. I need to do a select against the db for customers with account code like prefix where customer in territory. But there is no way to provide territory id. I thought I could just: <asp:TemplateField HeaderStyle-Width="100" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Left" HeaderText="LKey" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Left" ItemStyle-Width="100"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:Label ID="lblLKey" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("LKey") %>' /> </ItemTemplate> <FooterTemplate> <asp:TextBox ID="txtLKey" CssClass="sitepagetext" runat="server" MaxLength="15" Width="60" /> <cc1:AutoCompleteExtender ID="Autocompleteextender1" MinimumPrefixLength="4" CompletionInterval="1000" CompletionSetCount="10" ServiceMethod="GetCompletionList" ContextKey="<% this.Controller.TerritoryId %>" TargetControlID="txtLKey" runat="server"> </cc1:AutoCompleteExtender> </FooterTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> for the relevant field in the grid but when the page is run I get the following markup for the autoextender: Sys.Application.add_init(function() { $create(AjaxControlToolkit.AutoCompleteBehavior, {"contextKey":"\u003c% this.Controller.TerritoryId %\u003e","delimiterCharacters":"","id":"ctl00_ctl00_mainContentHolder_serviceContentHolder_qlgvJourneyPlanCustomers_ctl03_Autocompleteextender1","minimumPrefixLength":4,"serviceMethod":"GetCompletionList","servicePath":"/Views/CRM/JourneyPlans/CustomersEditor.aspx","useContextKey":true}, null, null, $get("ctl00_ctl00_mainContentHolder_serviceContentHolder_qlgvJourneyPlanCustomers_ctl03_txtLKey")); }); //]]> </script> ContextKey value doesnt get evaluated. It just uses the literal text. Any thoughts?

  • __doPostBack is not working in firefox

    - by Dan Williams
    The __doPostBack is not working in firefox 3 (have not checked 2). Everything is working great in IE 6&7 and it even works in Chrome?? It's a simple asp:LinkButton with an OnClick event <asp:LinkButton ID="DeleteAllPicturesLinkButton" Enabled="False" OnClientClick="javascript:return confirm('Are you sure you want to delete all pictures? \n This action cannot be undone.');" OnClick="DeletePictureLinkButton_Click" CommandName="DeleteAll" CssClass="button" runat="server"> The javascript confirm is firing so I know the javascript is working, it's specirically the __doPostBack event. There is a lot more going on on the page, just didn't know if it's work it to post the entire page. I enable the control on the page load event. Any ideas? I hope this is the correct way to do this, but I found the answer. I figured I'd put it up here rather then in a stackoverflow "answer" Seems it had something to do with nesting ajax toolkit UpdatePanel. When I removed the top level panel it was fixed. Hope this helps if anyone else has the same problem. I still don't know what specifically was causing the problem, but that was the solution for me.

  • Cannot cause $(this).find("a").click(); to fire using JQuery

    - by Ali
    Hi Everyone, I have a small question which should be very easy for the jquery experts out there. I am trying to follow http://aspdotnetcodebook.blogspot.com/2010/01/page-languagec-autoeventwireuptrue.html to be able to perform an action on gridview row double click. I can redirect to another page fine (as shown in the example) but I cannot cause the $(this).find("a").click(); to fire. Below is my GridView markup. <asp:GridView ID="gvCustomers" runat="server" DataSourceID="odsCustomers" CssClass="datagrid" GridLines="None" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataKeyNames="Customer_ID" PageSize="3" AllowPaging="True" AllowSorting="True" OnRowCommand="gvCustomers_RowCommand" OnRowDataBound="gvCustomers_RowDataBound"> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="Customer_ID" HeaderText="ID" ReadOnly="true" Visible="false" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="Customer_FirstName" HeaderText="First Name" ReadOnly="true" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="Customer_LastName" HeaderText="Last Name" ReadOnly="true" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="Customer_Email" HeaderText="Email" ReadOnly="true" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="Customer_Mobile" HeaderText="Mobile" ReadOnly="true" /> <asp:TemplateField> <ItemTemplate> <asp:LinkButton ID="lnkButton" runat="server" CommandName="showVehicles" CommandArgument='<%# Eval("Customer_ID") %>' ></asp:LinkButton> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> <EmptyDataTemplate> Sorry No Record Found. </EmptyDataTemplate> </asp:GridView> I just cant make it work as the author has suggested: /* or you could have a hidden LinkButton in the row (Text="" or not set) that you could trigger. Make sure you set the CommandName="Something" and CommandArgument="RecordId" */ on the OnCommand of linkButton, I have my server side method which I would like to fire. Any ideas will be most apprecited. Thanks, Ali

  • Problem with textbox inside updatepanel - not causing OnTextChanged event

    - by DaDa
    I have the following situation: I have a textbox inside an ajax updatepanel. Wherever the user types in the textbox I must display a message (different message that depends on the user typed data). <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server" UpdateMode="Always"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:TextBox ID="txtMyTexbox" runat="server" Width="500px" OnTextChanged="txtMyTexbox_TextChanged" AutoPostBack="true"></asp:TextBox> <br /> <asp:Label ID="lblMessage" runat="server" CssClass="errorMessage" Visible="false">Hello World</asp:Label> </ContentTemplate> <Triggers> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="txtMyTexbox" /> </Triggers> </asp:UpdatePanel> In server side I have written the following at page load ScriptManager.GetCurrent(this).RegisterAsyncPostBackControl(txtMyTexbox); and the method like this protected void txtMyTexbox_TextChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (.....) { lblMessage.Visible = false; } else { lblMessage.Visible = true; } } My problem now is that: when the user types in the textbox it doesn't cause OnTextChanged event. Am I missing something?

  • ASP.Net Panel JQuery SlideToggle Postback

    - by Germ
    I have an asp.net panel with a style which hides it and I'm using JQuery to slideToggle the panel using a hyperlink. This works fine. However, if I add a button on the page that causes a postback the panel will default back to hidden. I understand why this is happening but what is the best way to keep the panels visibility state when a postback occurs? <head runat="server"> <title></title> <script type='text/javascript' src="jquery-1.4.1.min.js"> </script> <style type="text/css"> .panel { display: none; } </style> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $("#Link1").click(function(evt) { evt.preventDefault(); $('#panelText').slideToggle('slow'); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:HyperLink ID="Link1" runat="server" NavigateUrl="#">SlideToggle </asp:HyperLink><br /> <asp:Panel ID="panelText" runat="server" CssClass="panel"> Some text</asp:Panel> <asp:Button ID="button1" runat="server" Text="Postback" /> </form> </body> </html>

  • ASP.Net: Adding client side onClick to a HyperlinkField in GridView

    - by Nir
    I have an existing GridView which contains the field "partner name". It is sortable by partner name. Now I need to change the Partner Name field and in some condition make it clickable and alert() something. The existing code is: <asp:GridView ID="gridViewAdjustments" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="false" AllowSorting="True" OnSorting="gridView_Sorting" OnRowDataBound="OnRowDataBoundAdjustments" EnableViewState="true"> <asp:BoundField DataField="PartnerName" HeaderText="Name" SortExpression="PartnerName"/> I've added the column: <asp:hyperlinkfield datatextfield="PartnerName" SortExpression="PartnerName" headertext="Name" ItemStyle-CssClass="text2"/> which enables me to control the CSS and sort. However, I can't find how to add a client side javascript function to it. I found that adding : <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Edit"> <ItemTemplate> <a id="lnk" runat="server">Edit</a> enable me to access "lnk" by id and add to its attributes. However, I lose the Sort ability. What's the correct solution in this case? Thanks.

  • Display weekday in textbox or label using date from textbox

There is a calendarExtender to select the date, but I would also like to be able to have the users enter the date manually. I tried to use JQuery to capture changes, but the label is not showing anything, and it triggers the RequiredFieldValidator on every initial page load. $(document).ready(function() { $('#<%= tbxFrom.ClientID %>').change(updateDate($('#<%= tbxFrom.ClientID %>').val())) } ); function updateDate(date) { $('#<%= lblWeekDayFrom.ClientID %>').val(date); }

  • Jeditable Datepicker onblur problem

    - by Shobha Deepthi
    Hi, I am using inline editing using Jeditable and datepicker. I have a column in my table which displays Date as a hyperlink. When I click on this it shows me the datepicker. And when a particular date is selected its updated in the backend and the cell now is updated with the changed value. However, am having problem with onblur event while changing month or years. This event gets triggered when I click on "Prev" or "Next" buttons on the datepicker control. This causes an exception when the date is selected. This works fine as long as the date selected is in the current month. I tried all possible solutions listed here: stackoverflow.com/questions/2007205/jeditable-datepicker-causing-blur-when-changing-month If settimeout the control does not change back to a normal hyperlink on closing the datepicker or on a true onblur event. Here's my code, $.editable.addInputType('datepicker', { element : function(settings, original) { var input = $(''); if (settings.width != 'none') { input.width(settings.width); } if (settings.height != 'none') { input.height(settings.height); } input.attr('autocomplete','off'); $(this).append(input); return(input); }, plugin : function(settings, original) { var form = this; settings.onblur = function(e) { t = setTimeout(function() { original.reset.apply(form, [settings, self]); }, 100); }; $(this).find('input').datepicker({ changeMonth: true, changeYear: true, dateFormat: 'dd-M-y', closeAtTop: true, onSelect: function(dateText) { $(this).hide(); $(form).trigger('submit'); } }); }, submit : function(settings, original) { } }); $(function() { $('.edit_eta').editable('update_must_fix_eta.php', { id: 'bugid', name: 'eta', type: 'datepicker', event: 'click', select : true, width: '50px', onblur:'cancel', cssclass : 'editable', indicator : 'Updating ETA, please wait.', style : 'inherit', submitdata:{version:'4.2(4)',tag:'REL_4_2_4',qstr:1} }); }); I tried hacking jeditable.js as mentioned on this link: http://groups.google.com/group/jquery-dev/browse_thread/thread/265340ea692a2f47 Even this does not help. Any help is appreciated.

On the masterpage (path: masterpages/MasterPage.master) <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="ToolkitScriptManager1" runat="server" EnablePageMethods="true"> </asp:ToolkitScriptManager> On the user control (path: controls/sitenavigation/usercontrol.ascx) <asp:TextBox id="txtSearchInput" Runat="server" CssClass="searchinput" Columns="95" MaxLength="95"></asp:TextBox> <asp:AutoCompleteExtender ID="txtSearchInput_AutoCompleteExtender" runat="server" DelimiterCharacters="" Enabled="True" ServiceMethod="GetSuggestions" ServicePath="~/App_Code/WebService.asmx" TargetControlID="txtSearchInput" UseContextKey="False" MinimumPrefixLength="2"> </asp:AutoCompleteExtender> On the Webservice (path: App_Code/WebService.cs) [System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptService] public class WebService : System.Web.Services.WebService { .... [WebMethod] public string[] GetSuggestions(string prefixText, int count, string contextKey) { //my code to return string[] } It seems that my problem is with my ServicePath in the extender but I just can't seem to figure out what it should be, any help would be great. Thanks.

  • vbCrLf in Multiline TextBox shows up only when .Trim() is called

    - by Brandon Montgomery
    I have an ASP TextBox with TextMode set to MultiLine. I'm having problems with preserving the vbCrLf characters when a user tries to put line breaks into the text. When a button on the page is pressed, I'm taking the text from the control, trimming it using String.Trim, and assigning that value to a String property on an object (which, in turn assigns it to a private internal String variable on the object). The object then takes the value from the private internal variable and throws it into the database using a stored procedure call (the SP parameter it is put into is an nvarchar(4000)). ASPX Page: <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel2" runat="server" RenderMode="Inline" UpdateMode="Conditional" ChildrenAsTriggers="true"> <ContentTemplate> <!-- some other controls and things --> <asp:TextBox TextMode="MultiLine" runat="server" ID="txtComments" Width="100%" Height="60px" CssClass="TDTextArea" Style="border: 0px;" MaxLength="2000" /> <!-- some other controls and things --> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> code behind: ProjectRequest.StatusComments = txtComments.Text.Trim object property: Protected mStatusComments As String = String.Empty Property StatusComments() As String Get Return mStatusComments.Trim End Get Set(ByVal Value As String) mStatusComments = Value End Set End Property stored proc call: Common.RunSP(mDBConnStr, "ProjectStatusUpdate", _ Common.MP("@UID", SqlDbType.NVarChar, 40, mUID), _ Common.MP("@ProjID", SqlDbType.VarChar, 40, mID), _ Common.MP("@StatusID", SqlDbType.Int, 8, mStatusID), _ Common.MP("@Comments", SqlDbType.NVarChar, 4000, mStatusComments), _ Common.MP("@PCTComp", SqlDbType.Int, 4, 0), _ Common.MP("@Type", Common.TDSqlDbType.TinyInt, 1, EntryType)) Here's the strangest part. When I debug the code, if I type "test test" (without the quotes) into the comments text box, then click the save button and use the immediate window to view the variable values as I step through, here is what I get: ?txtComments.Text "test test" ?txtComments.Text.Trim "test test" ?txtComments.Text(4) " "c ?txtComments.Text.Trim()(4) " "c Anyone have a clue as to what's going on here?

  • can't get jquery livequery to with an update panel

    - by Jeremy
    I have some basic html inside an asp.net update panel. Using livequery, I set up autocomplete, blur and keydown events so that they all continue to be wired up after the update panel does a partial page load. When the page initially loads, all the events work fine but after the update panel does a partial page reload, none of the events wired up with livequery continue to work. Are there known issues with livequery and update panels? Html: <asp:UpdatePanel ID="upData" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:DataList ID="dlData" runat="server" DataSource='<%# this.Data %>' DataKeyField="ID"> <ItemTemplate> <table> <tr> <th class="required">Location</th> <td><asp:TextBox ID="txtFromLocation" MaxLength="10" CssClass="searchlocation fromlocation required" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("FromLocation")%>'/><asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="rvalFromLocation" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtFromLocation" ValidationGroup="leg">*</asp:RequiredFieldValidator></td> </tr> </table> </ItemTemplate> </asp:DataList> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> And then I have my javascript. Normally it has a bunch of other code, but I can reduce it down to this and still have the problem: $(document).ready(function() { $(".searchlocation").livequery(function() { $(this).keydown(function(event) {alert('test');}); }); });

  • URLRewriter.net fails relative paths when using more than one substring in URL

    - by Andreas Strandfelt
    Hi. I have installed the URLRewriter on my server, and it works fine, but I have a rather big problem. Relative links in hyperlinks, CSS-links, images etc. doesn't work when I have URLs with more than one substring. E.g. (sorry, no http:// in front, as I do not have enough reputation): dkbyg.strandweb.dk/Leje-og-udlejning-arbejdskraft leads to the path dkbyg.strandweb.dk/Workers.aspx and works just fine. But dkbyg.strandweb.dk/Leje-og-udlejning-arbejdskraft/Midtjylland leads to dkbyg.strandweb.dk/Workers.aspx?Region=Midtjylland using this line in the Web.config: <rewrite url="~/Leje-og-udlejning-arbejdskraft/(.+)" to="~/Workers.aspx?Region=$1"/> It rewrites just fine, but my relative links doesn't work anymore. CSS, Images, links and so on thinks my root is now http://dkbyg.strandweb.dk/Leje-og-udlejning-arbejdskraft, which of course doesn't exist. Can't this be fixed? All my links are correctly set using the ~/, like this: <asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink3" CssClass="black_text" NavigateUrl="~/Forgot-Password" runat="server">I have forgotten my password</asp:HyperLink>

  • Setting up a button to trigger both modalPopupExtender and his Click Method

    - by Vitor Reis
    Hey guys, I have this modalPopupExtender, I want it to show a CheckBoxList with some data. I have set up a button to call both the method to fill the CheckBoxes and trigger the modalPopup (TargetControlID). they're all inside an UpdatePanel. with the right triggers. The problem is that when I click the button it shows the modalPopup but doesn't load the method to fill my CheckBoxes... Also, a linkButton inside the poup (linkButtonCheckAll) just closes the popup when clicked. When I remove the modalPopup the code works just fine and the list is loaded dinamically with the UpdatePanel. <asp:UpdatePanel ID="uppLote" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender ID="modalLote" runat="server" BehaviorID="popup" TargetControlID="buttonViewLote" PopupControlID="panelLote" /> <asp:Panel ID="panelLote" runat="server" CssClass="modalpopup"> <asp:LinkButton ID="linkButtonCheckAll" runat="server" Text="Check All Items" onclick="linkButtonCheckAll_Click"></asp:LinkButton> <asp:CheckBoxList ID="checkListLote" runat="server"> </asp:CheckBoxList> </asp:Panel> </ContentTemplate> <Triggers> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="linkButtonViewLote" EventName="Click" /> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="linkButtonCheckAll" EventName="Click" /> </Triggers> </asp:UpdatePanel> If I completely remove the modalPopupExtender, the code works fine, showing me the list I want with the method "linkButonViewLote_Click" (so, the problem is occurring due to the button triggering the modalPopupExtender is the same that I'm using to get my data, right? Any solutions?

  • ASP.NET required field validator firing on focus in Firefox

    - by ren33
    I have 2 asp.net textboxes in an update panel. Both textbox controls have some javascript attached to autotab to the next field and to allow only numeric input. When I enter some data into the first field and press enter, focus shifts to the next field and the requiredfieldvalidator of the second field displays its "* required" error message, even though I've just entered the field. This is only happening in Firefox. How can I prevent the validator from firing when I first enter the textbox? edit Here's the code: <asp:TextBox ID="add_ISBN" runat="server" Columns="14" MaxLength="17" CssClass="focus" /> <asp:TextBox ID="add_Qty" runat="server" Columns="4" MaxLength="4" /> <asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="rfvQty" ControlToValidate="add_Qty" ErrorMessage="* required" ForeColor="Red" Display="Dynamic" EnableClientScript="true" ValidationGroup="Add" runat="server" /> In the codebehind: add_ISBN.Attributes.Add("onkeydown", "return isbnCheck(event, '" & add_Qty.ClientID & "')") And the javascript: function isbnCheck(e, id) { e = e || window.event; var key = e.which || e.keyCode if (validIsbnChars.indexOf(parseInt(key, 10)) >= 0) { return true; } else { if (key == 13) { var nextfield = document.getElementById(id); if (nextfield) nextfield.focus(); return false; } if (e.preventDefault) e.preventDefault(); e.returnValue = false; return false; } } The javascript allows only a valid subset of characters, and if the user presses enter, sets focus to the next field.
