    I 've developed an eclipse plugin and in that I have a java file trying to read directories and then populate result accordingly. When I try to run the file from eclipse itself through RunJava application , it gives me proper result but as soon as I try to run the same through Eclipse Application, it is throwing NullPointerException because unable to find the directory. I tried the following ways- Suppose , I have a package as - Package - com.test.abhishek.file.java.TestWork.java Directories - com.test.abhishek.file.java.Dir1 com.test.abhishek.file.java.Dir2 Now in TestWork.java- InputStream is = LGHelpContentView.class.getResourceAsStream("/"+dirName);** The above line is getting failed. How should I keep my directory and where so that it will run as an eclipse plug-in as well.

    On my brand new Windows 7 machine, I downloaded Eclipse (Galileo) and several Eclipse plugins (Android's ADT plugin, Subclipse, etc.) After rebooting, neither of these plugins are showing up in the IDE (nothing in the preferences, menus, etc.) but if I click "Installation Details" in the 'About Eclipse' popup, I see all of the plugins listed as Installed Software. (ex. Android DDMS 0.9.5, Subclipse 1.6.5, etc.) How do I get my plugins to work?

    Hi there, I need to develop an application for Blackberry Java SDK 4.2.1 and above. I'm currently under Eclipse Classic 3.5, and I have installed the BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse v1.1, with all the Blackberry Java SDK available, versions 4.5 to 5.0. Unfortunately, there isn't any SDK available under 4.5. Is anyone know how to solve this problem? I mean, developing for Blackberry Java SDK 4.2.1 with Eclipse IDE. Thank you.

So far I've gleaned from Google searches that I need to install Eclipse Web Tools Platform (WTP) to go ahead with it. But when I go to Help-Install New Software I can't find any software update site that is hosting WTP. My default "Available Software Sites" are Helios, Mylyn for Eclipse Helios, and the Eclipse Project Updates. Do I need to add a new software update site to install WTP? If so, what is the URL? If not, where can I find WTP? Thanks in advance.

    Situation: I have an Eclipse RCP Application, which I am trying to build with tycho plugin for Eclipse. When I am executing my Eclipse Application inside of the IDe - the Application is executed normally. When using tycho to build the Application - the following error is thrown: The type org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Button cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files What I did : In other cases where a "missing requirenments" exception was thrown, which I found - a missing transitive plugin-dependency was the reason. In my case an SWT widget "Button" is missing, so I am trying to import swt. SWT is platform dependant so I am importing swt inside of the product, as described here. Anyway, during compilation the error occurs again. Question: Do someone have any Idea, how to solve this Problem?

    I see a lot of stuff online related to fixing buttons that can't be pressed, and fixing network issues with proxies. This seems like a different problem to me, related to jem.util.0.0.0 in the case of maven2 or needed libs for other plugins. The setup: Eclipse 3.5.1 (Galileo) installed with apt-get. Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) (This is running as a VM, not that is should matter.) General problem description: Maven2 eclipse plugin installation fails. Specifically, I can not install maven2 plugin from the eclipse installation flow using this target site: http://m2eclipse.sonatype.org/sites/m2e/ The maven site is found, installation begins, and then returns this error: Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. Software being installed: Maven Integration for Eclipse (Required) 0.10.0.20100209-0800\ (org.maven.ide.eclipse.feature.feature.group 0.10.0.20100209-0800) Missing requirement: Maven Integration for Eclipse (Required) 0.10.0.20100209-0800 (org\ .maven.ide.eclipse.feature.feature.group 0.10.0.20100209-0800) requires 'org.eclipse.jem.\ util 0.0.0' but it could not be found Official Ubuntu documentation claims eclipse 3.5.1 support, and recommends using the Synaptic Package Manager, and nothing else about any issues. I pseudo-code it'd be something like: get the console output from the other system obtain a reference to a JavaStackTraceConsolePage instance send the text to the console page display the console i.e. switch from my plugin's view to the Console view Step 1 is easy as it is specific to my plugin. As for the rest I'm pretty much clueless - Google and stackoverflow.com don't come up with useful references or how-tos. Since the class JavaStackTraceConsolePage is part of an internal Eclipse API (org.eclipse.jdt.internal.debug.ui.console) I'm not even sure whether it's doable at all.

    Hello, I've got Eclipse 3.6.1 on my MacBook Air (2010), and I'm getting slowish startup times. Well, slow, compared to my Desktop, which is somewhat less powerful and a few years old). The startup generally takes 15 seconds, and of this, 4 is spent just on the Eclipse splash screen, before Eclipse loads anything. No projects are open at startup. I'm running Eclipse 3.6.1 Cocoa x64 build (vanilla) with the Zend Studio plugin. The machine has 4GB RAM, an SSD with over 64% free space, 1.6GHz (4MB L2 Cache). OS is Mac OS X 10.6.6, latest Java available, 1.6. For comparison, my Desktop, an old P4 3GHZ (512K L2 Cache) with a 7200RPM drive, under 40% free space, Eclipse (same config) loads in under 7 seconds, consistently. Note, this one is a Windows machine, with latest Java installed.

    Hi all, I have a PHP script to run. If I run it from the command line, it works fine (include path is set correctly). If I want to run it inside Eclipse (Run as script), then the PHP include path of my php.ini is replaced by Eclipse, with all the libraries I've added to the project. I've configured my PHP executable in Eclipse. I've set the correct PHP executable file, and I selected my php.ini file too (the right one, I've checked). But it is ignored... Help please !

  • Eclipse CDT on Snow Leopard cannot find binaries

    After upgraded to Snow Leopard, I can no longer run Eclipse CDT project on my computer. While the build process completes without any error, Eclipse does not recognize the binary file it created. When try to point to the binary file in Run Configuration.. dialog, it cannot find any binary in the project. Though executing the file from Terminal works fine. According to a post at on Eclipse forum, this might be a problem that Mach-O parser does not recognize 64-bit binaries. Does anyone know what are the solutions or workarounds to the problem so that I can run/debug my C++ projects on Snow Leopard. UPDATED The solution suggested by Shane, though allowing the binary created to be recognized, does introduce another problem. Since system libraries in Snow Leopard are all 64 bits, it is no longer possible to link the code created with -arch i386 with these libraries, and hence not a feasible solution yet.

    I'm trying create a RCP Application with Eclipse, but I can't get past the 'Content' screen of the New Plug-in Project Wizard. When I select 'yes' for "Rich Client Application, Would you like to create a rich client application" it disables the Next and the Finish Button. I first thought it is due to my target platform which is Eclipse 3.2, but changing that doesn't make a difference. On the top of the screen only one task is displayed (now warnings about missing or incompatible information): Enter the data required to generate the plug-in My Eclipse Version is 3.5 Any ideas?     I am currently using Eclipse Version: 3.5.1. It works perfectly in normal conditions, even with the SVN plugin, the faulty component that I am about to talk about now. The thing is that whenever I am conducting a merge, eclipse shuts down. It just crashes without even leaving an error message or anything else. It happens too often so that I can hardly normally. I am now using RapidSVN for merges. However, I would still like to know if there is any way to improve my eclipse condition.

    I want to specify a custom icon for a makrer. Sadly, the icon that I chose is not displayed. I have never developed an Eclipse plug-in and I'm not sure where to begin. Do I need to install some application for this development? How does it work? Where do I begin? I did a Google search but all the tutorials and results I found were old and referred to antiquated versions of Eclipse, so I'm not sure if they're still accurate.

    We use Eclipse as the IDE for developing all sorts of Java/J2EE applications in our 150 people odd IT department. One of the common problems we have been seeing is that developers download and install different versions of Eclipse and plugins based on their personal likes and dislikes. We have been trying to bring some consistency to this and have standardized on the version and the plugins that developers should be using. So the problem now is how do we distribute this installation to the team. We have zipped the directories and shared it through a shared drive. But I am looking for a better solution using some kind of provisioning tool for Eclipse using which people can install the IDE or get updates. Has anyone faced this problem? What are your solutions to this? How do you ensure a standard Eclipse environment across developers? I found Yoxos as a potential solution to this. Does anyone have any experience with it? Can p2 be used to do this?
