  • How Can I prevent a specific application from being run on a specific machine using Group Policy?

    I know this is possible to do and I am working on it with limited success. I believe the Group Policy I want is "Do Not Run Specified Windows Applications" - I can enable this and add the .exe I want to the list of programs not to be run. I have tried this on my local machine by running gpedit.msc going to User Config Admin Templates System and then choosing that policy and editing and enabling it. Doing it this way verifies that it works as I could then not run the specified .exe (XenAppWeb.exe) So this is great. I have created a GPO to do the same thing in GP Management on my domain controller where we centralize this, enforced it, applied it to an OU, and put one of our machines into this OU to test it. I have let it sit there for 3 days, run gpupdate /force, and when I try to run XenAppWeb.exe on this machine, it still lets me run it fine. What can I look at to troubleshoot this? I should note that I am trying to enact this policy on Windows XP machines (Virtual Machines) Thanks, Mike

  • Installing Visual Studio 2003 on Windows 7 64-bit

    My team is currently supporting a 1.1 app and we are installing VS.NET 2003 on Windows 7. We haven't had any issues on the 32-bit machines, but FrontPage Server Extensions are failing to install on my 64-bit machine. Others on the Interwebs say that they have done this successfully, so I wanted to know if anyone here has and if they know of a solution. The specific issue is that FPSE (to clarify, I'm installing "FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions for IIS 7.0") fails to install correctly. In EventViewer I get the error: Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions: Error #3004f Message: Unable to read configuration information for Microsoft Internet Information Server: ImpersonateLoggedOnUser Error. I've looded for errors with ImpersonateLoggedOnUser on 64-bit and did find a case where it fails on 64-bit when UAC is turned off (which I did have it off). I turned UAC back on, ran command prompt as administrator, and ran msiexec on the FPSE package. Still no dice.   • How can I decrypt encrypted files using a PEM private key?

    I have files which have either been encrypted with a public key and the Blowfish algorithm, or a public key and the AES-256 algorithm. I'm looking to put together a Perl script that would be able to use the private keys (which I do have) to decrypt the files. The public and private key files are all in PEM format, and while I can find ways of reading the PEM files, and ways of decrypting data with a key, I haven't yet found a way of going from PEM - key. Any suggestions?

  • SVN (Subversion) Problem "File is scheduled for addition, but is missing" - Using Versions

    I'm using Versions for SVN. I attempt to commit and get this message: Commit failed (details follow): '/Users/mike/Sites/mysite.com/astss-cvsdude/Trunk/cart/flashfile.swf' is scheduled for addition, but is missing I suppose this is because I had added files to the repo, and then deleted them via the filesystem. I'd like to have it simply make note of my change, and apply the change to the repo. How can I get around this?

I need something that can handle multiple versions of our website, and allow multiple collaborators to all push to the repo together. Our current project is built in PHP, and we have a MySQL database. I am short on funding and need the best option for our money.   • Joomla - template dissapearing

    Hello, I have a Joomla Website located at http://www.MikeSilvis.com, and upon going to the site initially everything looks fine. However if you go into the site and click any link say web-design You can see that the default template is no longer being displayed.   • How get file names using OpenFileDialog in .NET (1000+ file multiselect)

    Maybe some of you have come across this before.... I am opening files for parsing. I'm using OpenFileDialog, of course, but i'm limited to a buffer of 2048 on the .FileNames string. Thus, I can only select a few hundred files. This is OK for most cases. However, fore example, I have in one case 1400 files to open. Do you know a way to do this with the open file dialog. I just want the string array of .FileNames, I pass that to parser class. I was also thinking of offering a FolderBrowserDialog option and then I'd use some other method to just loop through all the files in a directory, like the DirectoryInfo class. I'd do this as a last resort if I can't have an all in one solution.

    Hi, I have an array: $arr = array('foo', 'bar', 'bash', 'monkey', 'badger'); I want to have the elements in that array appear as the variables in my list(): list($foo, $bar, $bash, $monkey, $badger) = $data; Without actually specifying the variables, I tried; list(implode(",$", $arr)) = $data; and list(extract($arr)) = $data; But they don't work, I get: Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write context Does anyone have any idea whether this is possible?     Hi, I'm developing a Work item Custom Control and I need to use the standard VS's Merge Wizard for items in source control from my code to allow to user choose the target branch, resolve conflicts etc. I'm pretty sure it's possible in some way (even through the reflection), but I just can't find the proper class in any of VS client assemblies (Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Controls.dll, Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.dll).     Hi I was wondering if it was possible in the configuration of Lighttpd to read request headers, I've searched and searched.. apparently it's not possible. For example, conditional configuration based upon IP address: $HTTP["remoteip"] == "0.0.0.0" { // Do something } Is there something similar to check headers, for example: $HTTP["X-Some-Header"] == "Value" { // Do something } I'm thinking there isn't but thought I would post here as a last resort. Google didn't help much, and Lighttpd documentation would suggest this is not possible. Thanks Mike
