  • Get MAC address from Jetty HTTPServletRequest

    Hi all, Does anybody know if there is a way to get the sender's MAC address from an HTTPServletRequest in Jetty? (Note: by sender, I mean immediate sender aka the last hop before my server). If there isn't a direct way, does anybody know a way to translate an IP address to a MAC address in Java? Other note: I completely realize that MAC addresses do not leave the local subnet, and that's the intended functionality. I know this seems like an odd question, but trust me, I know what I'm doing :-) If you're curious, I'd be happy to explain why I want this. Thanks, Chris

    Hi, I want to find IP address in an application. I am able to find it. But, problem is, it works fins in iphone os 2.0 or so.   • Excel 2003 - ADDRESS() function issues

    I finally thought I had found a way to acutally use excel productively but the code that I followed does not appear to work. I'm thinking that the code is very limited and can't do what I want but I thought I'd ask to confirm - maybe it is my function that is the problem. I want to calculate the sum of a row of values for the previous month based on how many days we are into this month (i.e. It is the 20th of April so I want to sum the first 20 days of March to compare against.) =SUM(G4:ADDRESS(ROW(),7+$BR$3,4)) I basically want to SUM(G4:AA4) and have used the address function to return the cell reference AA4 by taking G4 and adding 20 to the column count. ADDRESS(ROW(),7+$BR$3,4) This successfully returns AA7 as expected HOWEVER, when I try to use the returning value in the SUM() function it throws an error... Am I not able to use this reference in my calculation?

  • Compare range of ip addresses with start and end ip address in MySQL

    I have a MySQL table where I store IP ranges. It is setup in the way that I have the start address stored as a long, and the end address (and an id and some other data). Now I have users adding ranges by inputting a start and end ip address, and I would like to check if the new range is not already (partially) in the database. I know I can do a between query, but that doesn't seem to work with 2 different columns, and I also cannot figure out how to pass a range to compare it. Doing it in a loop in PHP is a possibility, but would with a range of e.g. 132.0.0.0-199.0.0.0 be quite a big amount of queries..

    I've seen that it's possible to get the latitude and longitude (geocoding, like in Google Maps API) from a street address, but is it possible to do the reverse and get the street address when you know what the lat/long already is? The application would be an iPhone app (and why the app already knows lat/long), so anything from a web service to an iPhone API would work.

    Hi all, One of my functions in a class is called GetIpAddress() which returns the following string: System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables["REMOTE_ADDR"] This all works well in regular page loads and gets my ip address, but when i for example let a user place a comment, then the ip address is lost after postback and i get an empty string returned.     Hi, I wonder if someone can help me out on this: I'm writing some code to copy a set of contacts received through a web application into the Address Book. I want to put all these new contacts under a certain group. My code successfully creates the group and adds the contacts into the address book. However, the 'ABGroupAddMember' operation fails. It fails without an error and the result it returns is true, meaning that according to the debugger the contact should have been added to the group. However, this does not work. The portion of my loop code that adds the contact to the address book and then assigns it to the group is this: ABAddressBookAddRecord(addressBook,person, &anError); ABAddressBookSave(addressBook,&anError); ABGroupAddMember(fusionLiveGroupRef,person, &anError); ABAddressBookSave(addressBook,&anError); All references are valid. No errors are returned. All operations return true. What is going wrong?

  • Address Match Key Algorithm

    I have a list of addresses in two separate tables that are slightly off that I need to be able to match. For example, the same address can be entered in multiple ways: 110 Test St 110 Test St. 110 Test Street Although simple, you can imagine the situation in more complex scenerios. I am trying to develop a simple algorithm that will be able to match the above addresses as a key. For example. the key might be "11TEST" - first two of 110, first two of Test and first two of street variant. A full match key would also include first 5 of the zipcode as well so in the above example, the full key might look like "11TEST44680". I am looking for ideas for an effective algorithm or resources I can look at for considerations when developing this. Any ideas can be pseudo code or in your language of choice. We are only concerned with US addresses. In fact, we are only looking at addresses from 250 zip codes from Ohio and Michigan. We also do not have access to any postal software although would be open to ideas for cost effective solutions (it would essentially be a one time use). Please be mindful that this is an initial dump of data from a government source so suggestions of how users can clean it are helpful as I build out the application but I would love to have the best initial I possibly can by being able to match addresses as best as possible.

    Hi, i don't understand how this happen. This is portion of my code.. int isGoal(Node *node, int startNode){ int i; . . } When i debug this using gdb i found out that 'i' was allocated at the memory address that have been previously allocated. (gdb)print &node->path->next $26 = (struct intNode **) 0xffbff2f0 (gdb) print &i $22 = (int *) 0xffbff2f0 node-path-next has been already defined outside this function. But as u can see they share the same address which at some point make the pointer point to another place when the i counter is changed. I compiled it using gcc on solaris platform Any helps would be really appreciated..
