• Multiple NSURLDownloads with Progress

  Hello, I'm trying to build a small app which allows downloading of multiple files at the same time while displaying them in a custom NSTableView. This works, i've done this by using an NSEnumerator, but I struggle at getting the progress right. It's calculated correctly, but it's not done individually for every download, instead they're added up. The way I've tried to set the subtitles containing the progress is by loading them into a separate array and then inserting/replacing objects containing the progress, but here I run into another problem - I don't know how to get the index of the object that's being downloaded, so I can't differentiate between the progresses.   I am developing a progress bar using Ajax. My client side code is working fine, but I have issue at server side.   hi, i have seen all the upload progress bar plugins , widgets, etc. they all suck. their either too bulky with too much useless code or they dont work. what i want to know is where can i read up on how to display an easy upload progress indicator. most browsers have a status progress bar on them below but it isnt very professional to use just that when dealing with clients. how does the browser do it? i want to know the internals of how the browser work with indication a status of something uploading and maybe i can make something using php & jquery. thanks

  I am a bit confused on how to draw a bar graph for the following example: x_lims = [1000,10000;10000,100000;100000,1000000;1000000,10000000;10000000,... 100000000;100000000,1000000000;1000000000,10000000000;... 10000000000,100000000000;100000000000,1e12]; ex1 = [277422033.049038;24118536.4203188;2096819.03295482;... 182293.402068030;15905;1330;105;16;1]; Here, x_lims is the x axis limits for each individual bar and ex1 is the count. How can I plot these on a bar graph so that the width of each individual bar along the x axis is defined by the distance between x_lims(:,1) and x_lims(:,2) and the y value is defined by ex1? • Monitoring file upload progress in Actionscript 3

  I'm trying to track the progress of a file upload in AS3, and I'm getting strange behavior. When I select a file and upload it, the progress is instantaneously 100% even if the file is 10 or more megabytes, but it's not finished. The onComplete event is fired about 30 second to a few minutes later (depending on file size) when the file has really finished uploading. I've tested this locally and on the server, the behaviour is the same. Has anyone else experienced this? Very frustrating ... Otherwise, the file is uploading fine. • MovieClip progress bar width is too small relative to parent container

  I am new to ActionScripot and Flash and I am stuck with the following problem: On the stage I have a movieclip (Container, originally 200px width) and inside it with a progressbar movieclip (originally 700px width), scaled with Free Transform Tool to fit the parent container. The width of the container changes run-time while resizing the scene. In ActionScript I have a function which should set the progress bar width according to a calculated percentage value: private function updateProgress(event:TimerEvent):void { var barWidth:int = _container.width; var progress:Number = _stream.time / _stream.duration * barWidth; _progressBar.width = progress; } My problem is that the progressBar even at full time (100%) is only at 1/4 of the parent container. I assume that it comes from the symbols original size. Can I correct this programatically, or I must redesign it with the "designer"? I hope I made clear my problem, as I said, I'm new in Flash.   hey guys, i've a problem with progress dialog on opening an activity (called activity 2 in example). The activity 2 has a lot of code to execute in this OnCreate event. final ProgressDialog myProgressDialog = ProgressDialog.show(MyApp.this,getString(R.string.lstAppWait), getString(R.string.lstAppLoading), true); new Thread() { public void run() { runOnUiThread(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { showApps(); } }); myProgressDialog.dismiss(); } }.start(); The showApps function launch activity 2. if i execute this code on my button click event on activity 1, i see the progress, but she doesn't move and afeter i have a black screen during 2 or 3 seconds the time for android to show the activity. If i execute this code in the OnCreate of Activity2 and if i replace the showApps by the code on OnCreate, Activity1 freeze 2 seconds, i don't see the progress dialog, and freeze again 2 seconds on activity 2 before seeing the result. An idea ?

  Hi, In my web app there is a page(ChildPage) which is actually contained in an iframe element of another page(ParentPage). There is never the need for the scroll bars of browser to appear and it is working this way till IE7. When the ImageButton is moved sufficiently up so that it is above the bottommost part of page by more than 300px(i.e, the height of Div1) and if I click the ImageButton, the browser's vertical scrollbars disappear. Browser's vertical scrollbar appears in case the distance between ImageButton and the bottom most part of page is less than height of Div1 and disappears when the distance is more than height of Div1. I need that the browser's vertical scrollbar never appears. Please Help.

  I have an ActiveRecord model class Foo that has_many Bar. I want to clone a Foo (to get duplicates of most of its attributes) and then modify its Bar instances. This is a problem because cloned ActiveRecord instances share the same associated array; changes to one affect the other. f1 = Foo.new b = Bar.new f1.bars << b f2 = f1.clone f2.bars.includes? b # true f1.bars.clear f2.bars.includes? b # now false The real problem is that I can't detach the bars arrays from either Foo: f1.bars << b f2.bars.includes? b # true f2.bars = [] f2.bars.includes? b # now false f1.bars.includes? b # now also false If I could do that, then I could replace the Bars as I wanted to. However, any change to one Foo seems to affect the other.

• Unix copy command that has a progress bar, but not as heavy as rsync

  I need to copy lots of files. Usually I use rsync because I pass it the -aP options and I can see (a) how many files are left to process and (b) how much of each individual file is copied. However rsync also does lots of things with checksums to verify that a file was copied. However I don't really need that now. But normal cp doesn't include the above mentioned count of files left, which is very helpful. Is there anything like cp that includes progress of how many files left, but isn't as heavy as rsync?

• Another installation is in progress

  Why I try to install any program I see "Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one." error. Googled the web and found that solution would be to delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\InProgress registry key and reboot. That didn't help me unfortunately. When I open "Services" mmc snapin it shows that "Windows Installer" service is "Started", but "Start/Stop/Pause/Restart" buttons are grayed (the interesting thing is that startup type = "Manual", so I don't really know how to explain that I already have 2 instances of msiexec.exe in memory and one instance is consuming 50Mb of memory. Looks like there's a serious issue with my installer service - is there any way to fix it (please do mind - I can't install anything!) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Hello, I was wondering recently if is it just me or anyone else noticed it: why Adobe Reader after opening every single document displays "Content preparation" window with progress bar and it lasts for ages.. ? On linux pdf readers work hell lot better (faster), on windows other readers also work faster. Some years back in the past Adobe Reader also used to be quick. What has happened? PDF files aren't bigger/more complex compared to 3-4 years ago. Computers are at least dual core and with much more ram and displaying pdf files is getting slower and slower..

• Can't see progress of rolling back SPID with KILL WITH STATUSONLY

  I have a SPID on SQL 2005 that shows in Activity Monitor as "ROLLBACK" mode (because a transaction log filled up, not because it was manually killed). I tried to see how much time it has left to roll back with a KILL 115 WITH STATUSONLY but it just said "Status report cannot be obtained. Rollback operation for Process ID 115 is not in progress." Can I safely issue a "KILL 115" so that I can see the rollback status? Does this actually do anything on a spid currently in rollback?
