  • Accessing A Shared Directory That Has An Account White List

    I'm on a LAN here at work and I have my desktop sharing some of my project folders. I can access the computer via \\ComputerIP\, but I can't actually open any of the folders. Upon attempting, I get the error: Windowns cannot access \ComputerIP\ProjectFolder You do not have permission to access \ComputerIP\ProjectFolder. Contact your network administrator to request access. For more information about permissions, see Windows Help and Support Now, this is understood considering I've made it so that you had to utilize the "Project" credentials to connect. I have a user account on my main computer hosting these shared folders that gives full access to the folders if you are this "Project" user. I can Remote Desktop the computer just fine from my laptop using either set of credentials. When I try to open these folders it doesn't give me the option to attempt to apply any credentials like it does when I remote desktop. How am I supposed to gain access to these folders?

    When my friend Skypes with me or gets on FB Video with me, her sound works fine... at first. After a bit, it starts sounding like loud static. It happens more frequently as we restart video chats, until it happens as soon as we open video chats. We usually restart her PC to fix the issue. Is there a process we could kill, maybe?     My Dell XPSM1210 has developed these weird lines right in the middle of the screen. When I connect an external monitor the lines disappear and the display is fine. I would like to know if this is a problem with the screen panel and if it needs replacement is there a place where I could buy one. This laptop is not under warranty so I'm willing to get the screen replaced. Thanks in advance!

  • Burned white shadow on 24inch monitor

    So I got this brand new monitor today an noticed the following problem: This happens while I'm moving my browser window for example. It's not font related, it also happens with icons as you can see on the picture. It's only persistend while I'm moving something, the faster I move it, the farther away is the shadow from the origin. I tested it on windows, linux and two different systems with DVI and VGA. Is this a known issue ?   • black and white pages not recognized by printer

    I have a document which has color on about 25% of its pages. When I print it in the copy shop, the printer's technically supposed to recognize the b/w pages. However, all pages are registered as colored, i.e. the pages are color-enabled pages which happen to not have any colors on them (but I'm paying for the color-enabled-ness). Regrettably, the staff have to charge me for color because the printer's leased and they have to pay for color pages, so showing them that there's no color doesn't help me. What are possible sources for b/w pages showing up like that?

  • Displaying unicode character U+2661 ("White Heart Suit") in Windows 7

    I can't get this character: ? to display properly in Windows Explorer, it instead shows up as a symbol of three lines, similar to this ?. The strangest thing is that if i use the heart symbol beside another unusual symbol, such as one of these: ??????, it will display correctly as a heart; yet if I delete the symbol which is next to the heart it will revert to the 3 lines symbol. All of these other symbols display correctly when used alone. Does anybody else have this problem? Is it possible that Windows has 2 different characters listed for U+2661? Thanks for any help

  • How to run White + SL4 UATs through TeamCity?

    After experiencing a series of unpleasant issues with TFS, including source code orruption and project management inflexibility, we (meaning the project team of which I'm a part) have decided to move from TFS 2010 to TeamCity + SVN + V1. I've managed to get our MSTest component and unit tests running as part of every build. However, our UATs are failing, and I was hoping for some advice from the TeamCity community as to best practices w.r.t. running web servers and interacting with the desktop. Each of our UAT fixtures starts a web server to host the site, like this: public static void StartWebServer() { var pathToSite = @"C:\projects\myproject\FrontEnd\MyProject.FrontEnd.Web"; var webServer = new Process { StartInfo = new ProcessStartInfo { Arguments = string.Format("/port:9150 /path:\"{0}\"", pathToSite), FileName = @"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\DevServer\10.0\WebDev.WebServer40.EXE" } }; webServer.Start(); } Needless to say, this doesn't work when running through TeamCity, as the pathToSite value is different each time. I'm hoping there is a way of determining the path into which the the code is checked out prior to building? That would allow me to point the web server at the right place. The other issue is that our UATs use White to drive the Silverlight UI through an instance of Internet Explorer: _browserWindow = InternetExplorer.Launch("http://localhost:9150/index.html#/Home", "Home - Windows Internet Explorer"); _document = _browserWindow.SilverlightDocument; I've ensured that the TeamCity service is granted the ability to interact with the desktop, and I've set the build agent machine up to log in automatically (an open session is a pre-requisite for White to work properly). Is that all I need to do or are there additional steps required?

    I have created a simple propertySheet(CPropertySheet) and a couple of CPropertyPage derived classes. While running the application, the ProperySheet, Page and tabs are appeared in white color. I was expecting them to be like normal widow dialog color. Any clue to make the property sheet, pages background to be like other normal MFC dialogs appears? I use Visual Studio 2008 MFC without .NET CLR.
