• Shortcut icon for registered file types in visual studio setup project

  It is known that when you create a shortcut and place it in the desktop or program menu directory in a VS setup project, you should also set an icon for it. If not, the default icon will be displayed. However it is natural to think that icons to the files of the registered type (such as pdf, txt, doc, etc.), should be taken from the OS after installation. What I want: What I get: How to implement this? PS: Of course, I can get the pdf and txt icons from somewhere, add them to the VS project and set to the shortcuts, but I believe that there should be a better solution.

If I tried to install on windows server 2008 using MSI file it is throwing error as below- "You do not have sifficient privieges to compelte this instalaltion for all users of the machine. log on as administrator and the retry this instalaltion" settings as below, 1)I have loged in as admin user. 2)secpol.msc --Local Policies--Security Options--User Account Control: Run all administrator in Admin Approvl Mode ==Enabled Please suggest me on this. thanks in advance

• Why is 50.22.53.71 hitting my localhost node.js in an attempt to find a php setup

  I just created a new app using angular-fullstack yeoman generator, edited it a bit to my liking, and ran it with grunt on my localhost, and immediately upon starting up I get this flood of requests to paths that I haven't even defined. Is this a hacking attempt? And if so, how does the hacker (human or bot) immediately know where my server is and when it came online? Note that I haven't made anything online, it's just a localhost setup and I'm merely connected to the internet. (Although my router does allow 80 port incoming.) Whois shows that the IP address belongs to a SoftLayer Technologies. Never heard of it. This works fine for the installation procedure. Unfortunately, InnoSetup will not create such a log file when I uninstall the application. Is there a flag / possibility to force InnoSetup to also create an uninstall log file?

  The Selenium setup.py can be found at http://code.google.com/p/selenium/source/browse/trunk/setup.py. When running "python setup.py sdist" the "firefox/test/py" directory is ignored for some reason though it's mentioned in the "package_dir" and in "packages". Any ideas why it's ignored?

  Hi, I have a C#.NET desktop application using SQL Compact edition as data store. The application should be used by any user on the machine and all should be seeing the same data ( data should not different per user). I am wondering where should I deploy the SDF file? User's Personal data folder (My Documents) means each user will have a separate database. Deploying on the same folder as the application causes vista to copy the file to \USers\Appdata\local\VirtualStore\ and it seems to make different copies for each user. Where is it best to deploy the SDF file to ensure all users are looking at the same data?

I can visit my site with http://IP/ but not with http://domain.com. What changes do I need to make so that I can visit my site with http://domain.com.   I'm trying to write an installer for an app I created. I found a suggestion elsewhere that I was trying to follow and it mostly worked. My app is now in the "Open With" list. However, the app won't run at all. Could it be that it's because the app is not being started in its directory, so it can't find the dlls?   The following image shows the size of a standard custom page: I've intentionally removed the panel on top, where you usually see Caption, Description and Logo. So you can see that the actual size of the page is quite small - there are gaps on top, left and right sides. Is there any way to resize the page, so there are no gaps? I want the image to take the whole space. I create the page using CreateCustomPage function.

  Hi, I've been coding with Python and C++ and now need to work on building a gui for data visualization purposes. I work on Mac Snow Leopard (intel), python 3.1 using gcc 4.2.1 (from Xcode 3.1) I wanted to first install Qt and then PyQt. And my goals are to be able to: - quickly prototype GUI and the accompanied logic that drives the GUI using PyQt and python - if I decided I need the speed, or if it's fairly easy to translate my GUI into C++ using the Qt tools, I have the options to translate my app into C++ - Be able to deploy my application onto Windows (both the python and c++ version of my app) Give the goals above, what are the correct steps I should take and what issues i should be aware of when setting up Qt and PyQt. Which other deployment tools do I need? From my readings so far, here's what I have: download the Qt source for mac and configure it with -platform macx-g++42 -arch x86_64 -no-framework (i've read somewhere that building as framework causes some trouble in deployment and/or debugging, can't find the article anymore) download latest SIP source and build download latest PyQt and build from source (any special options I should pay attention to?) For deployment, I've read that I would need to use py2exe/cx_freeze for windows, p2app for mac: http://arstechnica.com/open-source/guides/2009/03/how-to-deploying-pyqt-applications-on-windows-and-mac-os-x.ars but seems like what the article describe is deploying an app you build on windows on the windows platform and vice versa. How do you deploy to windows (is it even possible?) if you are writing your Qt app on a mac ? Really appreciate the help

And the goal is to create a universal installer that will be checking user's registry for specific apps installed and according to these apps would create a list of available installation components in "Select Components" window. And that's the particular problem I'm stacked with. I've already created the installer, but a user have to check/uncheck components he doesn't need because he doesn't use specific app. That is definitely not a good way of doing thing I guess...   I have a Flask web application running behind gunicorn and Nginx. Nginx proxies any traffic to ivrhub.org to the correct flask app. I would very much like to use inbox.py to process some incoming email. Running inbox.py's example on my server and then sending an email to [email protected] does not work as I intended. The inbox.py server does not seem to receive anything but the email also does not bounce. I'm missing something conceptually -- is there a DNS setting I need to configure or something I need to adjust with Nginx?

My Intel i5 machines have all experienced daily (if not more frequent) freezes, but it's very difficult to report bugs now and policy instead is just for ubuntu to collect counts; no way for me to see that anything is (or is not) being worked on. I've just experienced a freeze and now on reboot I'm stuck in a cycle of "Ubuntu has an internal error" (presumably Ubuntu never experiences an external error...) do you want to report it? Yes. Oh another internal error... It looks like this report could contain useful information. Is there anyway to make sure it gets provided to the people who can fix it?

• What is the best private cloud storage setup

  I need to create a private cloud and I'm searching for the best setup. These are my 2 most important requirements 1. Disk and system redundant 2. Price / GB as low as possible The system is going to be used as backup setup which will receive data 24/7 over SFTP and rsync. High throughput is not that important. I'm planning to use glusterfs and consumer grade 4TB hard-drives. I have worked out 3 possible setups 3 servers with 11 4TB HDD Setup up a replica 3 glusterfs and setup each hard drive as a separate ext4 brick. Total capacity: 44TB HDD / TB ratio of 0.75 (33HDD / 44TB) 2 servers with 11 4TB HDD The 11 hard-drives are combined in a RAIDZ3 ZFS storage pool. With a replica 2 gluster setup. Total capacity: 32TB (+ zfs compression) HDD / TB ratio of 0.68 (22HDD / 32TB) 3 servers with 11 4TB consumer hard-drives Setup up a replica 3 glusterfs and setup each hard-drive as a separate zfs storage pool and export each pool as a brick. Total capacity: 32TB (+ zfs compression) HDD / TB ratio of 0.68 (22HDD / 32TB) (Cheapest) My remarks and concerns: If a hard drive fails which setup will recover the quickest? In my opinion setup 1 and 3 because there only the contents of 1 hard-drive needs to be copied over the network. Instead of setup 2 were the hard-drive needs te be reconstructed by reading the parity of all the other harddrives in the system. Will a zfs pool on 1 harddrive give me extra protection against for example bit rot? With setup 1 and 3 I can loose 2 systems and still be up and running with setup 2 I can only loose 1 system. When I use ZFS I can enable compression which will give me some extra storage.

• Passenger_wsgi.py given precedence over DirectoryIndex?

  I was having an issue with my site today, where apache wasn't serving index.php by default. I had moved passenger_wsgi.py to the directory above document root so that I could serve python files without having to use PassengerAppRoot in the .htaccess file. I wanted to do this because I set up a development sub-domain on the site, and I wanted to use a different passenger_wsgi for the two domains, but that meant having different .htaccess files for the different PassengerAppRoots. Is there a way to have passenger_wsgi.py where it was and still let apache serve the index.phps? edit: I'm sorry, I'm tired. I just realized that the way this probably works is that passenger_wsgi.py is handling the routing instead of apache.
