  • jquery animate boxshadow

    - by mstef
    http://jsfiddle.net/mstefanko/w5aAn/877/ Below, i'm achieving the effect I wanted, but with a pending issue. Since i'm using a separate span and positioning it absolute over-top of a box with relative position. I can not access the inputs until after the animation is finished. I'm guessing the only way to alleviate this would be do something similar with just animating the border of the outer box? But nothing I was doing to animate box-shadow:inset was working. HTML <div id="wow"> <span id="pulse"></span> <input id="form-input"/> <input id="form-input"/> </div>? CSS #wow { width: 500px; height: 200px; display: inline-block; position: relative; border: 1px solid black; } #pulse { width: 100%; height: 100%; box-shadow:inset 0 0 20px #6c95c3; -moz-box-shadow:inset 0 0 10px #6c95c3; position: absolute; z-index: 20000; } JS $('#pulse').stop().animate({"opacity": 0}, "fast"); $('#pulse').effect("pulsate", { times:4 }, 500, function() { $(this).remove(); });

  • Restore passwd for root on a server

    - by s.mihai
    Hello,       I have a DVR server with linux embeded. It has some telnet functions but i don't have the password for it (the chinese manufacturer refuses to give me the password). I did get a upgrade folder from them and found a passwd file inside.       So i assume that when i upgrade the firmware the password in that file will be used.       Now i am trying to modify the file so taht i can insert a password i already know.       The problem is that i don't know how to create the password hash from what i figured the password hash is $1$1/lfbDKX$Hmd.FqzB8IZEohPesYi961       The file is named rom.ko and i found a command telnetd /mnt/yaffs/web/boa -c /mnt/yaffs/web & /bin/cp -f /mnt/yaffs/rom.ko /etc/shadow in a script file so i assume this is the right way.       Can you help me reconstruct a password that i know already? Tell me how or make one for me :) ?... passwd file: root:$1$1/lfbDKX$Hmd.FqzB8IZEohPesYi961:0:0:99999:7:-1:-1:33637592 bin::10897:0:99999:7::: daemon::10897:0:99999:7::: adm::10897:0:99999:7::: lp::10897:0:99999:7::: sync::10897:0:99999:7::: shutdown::10897:0:99999:7::: halt::10897:0:99999:7::: mail::10897:0:99999:7::: news::10897:0:99999:7::: uucp::10897:0:99999:7::: operator::10897:0:99999:7::: games::10897:0:99999:7::: gopher::10897:0:99999:7::: ftp::10897:0:99999:7::: nobody::10897:0:99999:7::: next::11702:0:99999:7:::

  • how to make shadows for transparent objects using ray tracing in C++/openGL

    - by happy face
    I'm trying to make a code that cast shadow from trasnparent objects(such as glass) for rendering in 3D I do not have a shadow map and photon mapping yet, and I wanted to know if there is a way to make shadows for transparent materials using ray tracing only. Caustics sounds very hard without photon mapping... I have implemented a simple code in C++ that only makes the shadows black (no matter if the objects are transparent or opaque) Pseudo code would be great, thnx. for(size_t i = 0;i < num; ++i) { if(state_list[i].hit && state_list[i].distance < dist_from_light[i]) { return[i] = BLACK; }

  • In a virtual machine monitor such as VMware's ESXi Server, how are shadow page tables implemented?

    - by ali01
    My understanding is that VMMs such as VMware's ESXi Server maintain shadow page tables to map virtual page addresses of guest operating systems directly to machine (hardware) addresses. I've been told that shadow page tables are then used directly by the processor's paging hardware to allow memory access in the VM to execute without translation overhead. I would like to understand a bit more about how the shadow page table mechanism works in a VMM. Is my high level understanding above correct? What kind of data structures are used in the implementation of shadow page tables? What is the flow of control from the guest operating system all the way to the hardware? How are memory access translations made for a guest operating system before its shadow page table is populated? How is page sharing supported? Short of straight up reading the source code of an open source VMM, what resources can I look into to learn more about hardware virtualization?

  • HTG Explains: What are Shadow Copies and How Can I Use Them to Copy or Backup Locked Files?

    - by Jason Faulkner
    When trying to create simple file copy backups in Windows, a common problem is locked files which can trip up the operation. Whether the file is currently opened by the user or locked by the OS itself, certain files have to be completely unused in order to be copied. Thankfully, there is a simple solution: Shadow Copies. Using our simple tool, you can easily access shadow copies which allows access to point-in-time copies of the currently locked files as created by Windows Restore. • Hell: NTFS "Restore previous versions"...

    - by ttsiodras
    The hell I have experienced these last 24h: Windows 7 installation hosed after bluetooth driver install. Attempting to recover using restore points via "Repair" on the bootable Win7 installation CD. Attempting to go back one day in the restore points. No joy. Attempting to go back two days in the restore points. No joy. Attempting to go back one week in the restore points. Stil no joy. Windows won't boot. Apparently something is REALLY hosed. And then it hits me - PANIC - the restore points somehow reverted DATA files to their older versions! Word, Powerpoint, SPSS, etc document versions are all one week old now. Using the "freshest" restore point. Failed to restore yesterday's restore point!!! I am stuck at old versions of the data!!! Booting KNOPPIX, mounting NTFS partition as read-only under KNOPPIX. Checking. Nope, the data files are still the one week old versions. Booting Win7 CD, Recovery console - Cmd prompt - navigating - yep, data files are still one week old. Removing the drive, mounting it under other Win7 installation. Still old data. Running NTFS undelete on the drive (read-only scan), searching for file created yesterday. Not found. Despair. At this point, idea: I will install a brand new Windows installation, keeping the old one in Windows.old (default behaviour of Windows installs). I boot the new install, I go to my C:\Data\ folder, I choose "Restore previous versions", click on yesterday's date, and click open... YES! It works! I can see the latest versions of my files (e.g. from yesterday). Thank God. And then, I try to view the files under the "yesterday snapshot-version" of c:\Users\MyAccount\Desktop ... And I get "Permission Denied" as soon as I try to open "Users\MyAccount". I make sure I am an administrator. No joy. Apparently, the new Windows installation does not have access to read the "NTFS snapshots" or "Volume Shadow Snapshots" of my old Windows account! Cross-installation permissions? I need to somehow tell the new Windows install that I am the same "old" user... So that I will be able to access the "Users\MyAccount" folder of the snapshot of my old user account. Help?

  • How to determine UINavigationBar custom view text/shadow color for different styles in UISplitViewCo

    - by Cal
    I have a splitview with a pop over master view using UINavigationController. The problem is I have some custom text views in the header of the nav controller and when it switches to the pop-over view the style of the nav bar changes. This makes the colors of the text clash since they are no longer using the correct settings for the new navbar style. How do you determine the proper default text colors for a given navigation bar (style)? The issue is because I'm using a split view in the iPad but you should be able to determine the proper colors for an iPhone nav bar too.

  • Why can I resolve this hostname but not a cname to this hostname?

    - by Joe Hopfgartner
    if a run dig against a hostname, i get the according cname, however i get an NXDOMAIN error (non existent domain). if i run dig against the cname i got, I can resolve it to an IP address successfully. It is reproduceable. On the system I am currently on it is always the case, on other systems it sometimes works and sometimes not, and on other systems it seems to work all the time. If i run using a nameserver i specify (for example googles public nameserver) i can successfully resolve the hostname. i would just blame the local system, but it seems i am not having the only one problems the 2nd domain (unrestrict.me) is hosted on amazon route 53 nameservers. the 1st one on another dns server which has proofen to be fully functional and reliable over the years. i once switchted with the other domain to amazon dns as well, everything seemed to work, also various dns health check tests reported fine, however i recieved a lot of support tickets that dns resolution would not work. is amazon just "bad" or am i doing something wrong? i did not tamper with the domain in any way on the local system (in case of caching or making a custom dns view or whatever...) joe@joe:~$ dig scorpion.premiumize.me ; <<>> DiG 9.8.1-P1 <<>> scorpion.premiumize.me ;; global options: +cmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NXDOMAIN, id: 10222 ;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 1, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 0 ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;scorpion.premiumize.me. • How to disable the text shadow in plasma widgets KDE 4.6?

    - by piedro
    I just switched completely to Kubuntu for the sake of the more suitable applications for my purposes and their overall integration in the system. But I'm not very happy with all those desktop effects and tranparent looks everywhere. Some things a matter of taste I guess. Some things just unbearable for me having weak eyes. One of them is that about every light theme seems to be using a text shadow effect on the plasma widgets. A white "spilled milk" effect underneath dark text on light grey or glassy background. Drives my eyes nuts! I can remove this effect on the desktop folder by unselecting "shadow" as text effect. I can't find any way to switch it of in the panel and the plasma widgets. My second, related question is, is there a plasma theme matching the oxygen look of the default desktop in light colors that uses the same colors as the ones chosen in the KDE color settings, - simple, opaque, no effects, gnome-like? Plz help someone! thx, piedro

  • drawTextInRect on UITextField not called

    - by subw
    I'm trying to implement the answer to this SO question. The problem is: -[drawTextInRect] is apparently not called, and setting the shadow in -[drawRect] doesn't make the UITextField's text shadowed. Another weird thing is that even if my subclass implementations of -[drawTextInRect] and -[drawRect] are completely empty (not even a call to super), the textfield's text is drawn.

  • How to hide jQuery Sub-Menus(ddsmoothmenu)?

    - by Tim
    I'm new to jQuery and i must admit that i've understood nothing yet, the syntax appears to me as an unknown language although i thought that i had my experiences with javascript. Nevertheless i managed it to implement this menu in my asp.net masterpage's header. Even got it to work that the content-page is loaded with ajax with help from here. But finally i'm failing with the menu to disappear when the new page was loaded asynchronously. I dont know how to hide this accursed jQuery Menu. Following the part of the js-file where the events are registered for hiding/disappearing. I dont know how to get the part that is responsible for it and even i dont know how to implement that part in my Anchor-onclick function where i dont have a reference to the jQuery Object. buildmenu:function($, setting){ var smoothmenu=ddsmoothmenu var $mainmenu=$("#"+setting.mainmenuid+">ul") //reference main menu UL $mainmenu.parent().get(0).className=setting.classname || "ddsmoothmenu" var $headers=$mainmenu.find("ul").parent() $headers.hover( function(e){ $(this).children('a:eq(0)').addClass('selected') }, function(e){ $(this).children('a:eq(0)').removeClass('selected') } ) $headers.each(function(i){ //loop through each LI header var $curobj=$(this).css({zIndex: 100-i}) //reference current LI header var $subul=$(this).find('ul:eq(0)').css({display:'block'}) $subul.data('timers', {}) this._dimensions={w:this.offsetWidth, h:this.offsetHeight, subulw:$subul.outerWidth(), subulh:$subul.outerHeight()} this.istopheader=$curobj.parents("ul").length==1? true : false //is top level header? $subul.css({top:this.istopheader && setting.orientation!='v'? this._dimensions.h+"px" : 0}) $curobj.children("a:eq(0)").css(this.istopheader? {paddingRight: smoothmenu.arrowimages.down[2]} : {}).append( //add arrow images '<img src="'+ (this.istopheader && setting.orientation!='v'? smoothmenu.arrowimages.down[1] : smoothmenu.arrowimages.right[1]) +'" class="' + (this.istopheader && setting.orientation!='v'? smoothmenu.arrowimages.down[0] : smoothmenu.arrowimages.right[0]) + '" style="border:0;" />' ) if (smoothmenu.shadow.enable){ this._shadowoffset={x:(this.istopheader?$subul.offset().left+smoothmenu.shadow.offsetx : this._dimensions.w), y:(this.istopheader? $subul.offset().top+smoothmenu.shadow.offsety : $curobj.position().top)} //store this shadow's offsets if (this.istopheader) $parentshadow=$(document.body) else{ var $parentLi=$curobj.parents("li:eq(0)") $parentshadow=$parentLi.get(0).$shadow } this.$shadow=$('<div class="ddshadow'+(this.istopheader? Thanks, Tim EDIT: thanks to Starx' private-lesson in jQuery for beginners i solved it: I forgot the # in $("#smoothmenu1"). After that it was not difficult to find and call the hover-function from the menu's headers to let them fade out smoothly: $("#smoothmenu1").find("ul").hover(); Regards, Tim

  • NTFS Error - file system structure is corrupt and unusable

    - by SomeGuy
    My Windows 7 (64) keeps completely locking up, and I have to hold the power button to shit it down. Event logs are showing EventID 55. I realize that this can be a warning sign of an impending disk failure, but my data on this machine is safely backed up and I don't feel like taking the time to replace the drive right now. When I have seen this problem before, I have been able to delete the offending folder with a Linux Live CD. (When CHKDSK /F didn't work). In this case, the folder is from VSS. I assume this is from Crashplan, my online backup provider. What are the ramifications of deleting this folder from Linux? Is it safe to do? "The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume \Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy26."

  • Where can I find ready to use windows scripts that used robocopy?

    - by Geo
    We are installing the Windows Resource Kit, and that installs RoboCopy. We want to have access to a few windows scripts that uses RoboCopy so we can start from those to build something else. Any ideas on where I can find a few samples? NOTE 1: A bit of information. Every time we try to copy D drive to E drive (new drive) we get an error that says: ERROR 32 (0x000000020) Copying File d:\pagefile.sys The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. Waiting 30 seconds. Just to help figure it out.

  • Previous Versions delayed with SBS 2008 / Windows 7

    - by indeed005
    The SBS 2008 at this site has Previous Versions enabled on a mapped drive. The snapshots happen 3 times a day. I doubt they take very long; the diff size is only a few GB. The problem is that the users on Windows 7 cannot see their previous versions until a few hours later. Is there some indexing that has to happen before the Previous Versions are visible to the client machines? Edit: In the application log, 3 minutes after every scheduled backup, there is an event for VSS (EventID 8224) saying "The VSS service is shutting down due to idle timeout" Apparently this means it has finished successfully, even though modified files still do not show another version.

  • A jQuery Plug-in to monitor Html Element CSS Changes

    - by Rick Strahl
    Here's a scenario I've run into on a few occasions: I need to be able to monitor certain CSS properties on an HTML element and know when that CSS element changes. The need for this arose out of wanting to build generic components that could 'attach' themselves to other objects and monitor changes on the ‘parent’ object so the dependent object can adjust itself accordingly. What I wanted to create is a jQuery plug-in that allows me to specify a list of CSS properties to monitor and have a function fire in response to any change to any of those CSS properties. The result are the .watch() and .unwatch() jQuery plug-ins. Here’s a simple example page of this plug-in that demonstrates tracking changes to an element being moved with draggable and closable behavior: http://www.west-wind.com/WestWindWebToolkit/samples/Ajax/jQueryPluginSamples/WatcherPlugin.htm Try it with different browsers – IE and FireFox use the DOM event handlers and Chrome, Safari and Opera use setInterval handlers to manage this behavior. It should work in all of them but all but IE and FireFox will show a bit of lag between the changes in the main element and the shadow. The relevant HTML for this example is this fragment of a main <div> (#notebox) and an element that is to mimic a shadow (#shadow). <div class="containercontent"> <div id="notebox" style="width: 200px; height: 150px;position: absolute; z-index: 20; padding: 20px; background-color: lightsteelblue;"> Go ahead drag me around and close me! </div> <div id="shadow" style="background-color: Gray; z-index: 19;position:absolute;display: none;"> </div> </div> The watcher plug in is then applied to the main <div> and shadow in sync with the following plug-in code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { var counter = 0; $("#notebox").watch("top,left,height,width,display,opacity", function (data, i) { var el = $(this); var sh = $("#shadow"); var propChanged = data.props[i]; var valChanged = data.vals[i]; counter++; showStatus("Prop: " + propChanged + " value: " + valChanged + " " + counter); var pos = el.position(); var w = el.outerWidth(); var h = el.outerHeight(); sh.css({ width: w, height: h, left: pos.left + 5, top: pos.top + 5, display: el.css("display"), opacity: el.css("opacity") }); }) .draggable() .closable() .css("left", 10); }); </script> When you run this page as you drag the #notebox element the #shadow element will maintain and stay pinned underneath the #notebox element effectively keeping the shadow attached to the main element. Likewise, if you hide or fadeOut() the #notebox element the shadow will also go away – show the #notebox element and the shadow also re-appears because we are assigning the display property from the parent on the shadow. Note we’re attaching the .watch() plug-in to the #notebox element and have it fire whenever top,left,height,width,opacity or display CSS properties are changed. The passed data element contains a props[] and vals[] array that holds the properties monitored and their current values. An index passed as the second parm tells you which property has changed and what its current value is (propChanged/valChanged in the code above). The rest of the watcher handler code then deals with figuring out the main element’s position and recalculating and setting the shadow’s position using the jQuery .css() function. Note that this is just an example to demonstrate the watch() behavior here – this is not the best way to create a shadow. If you’re interested in a more efficient and cleaner way to handle shadows with a plug-in check out the .shadow() plug-in in ww.jquery.js (code search for fn.shadow) which uses native CSS features when available but falls back to a tracked shadow element on browsers that don’t support it, which is how this watch() plug-in came about in the first place :-) How does it work? The plug-in works by letting the user specify a list of properties to monitor as a comma delimited string and a handler function: el.watch("top,left,height,width,display,opacity", function (data, i) {}, 100, id) You can also specify an interval (if no DOM event monitoring isn’t available in the browser) and an ID that identifies the event handler uniquely. The watch plug-in works by hooking up to DOMAttrModified in FireFox, to onPropertyChanged in Internet Explorer, or by using a timer with setInterval to handle the detection of changes for other browsers. Unfortunately WebKit doesn’t support DOMAttrModified consistently at the moment so Safari and Chrome currently have to use the slower setInterval mechanism. In response to a changed property (or a setInterval timer hit) a JavaScript handler is fired which then runs through all the properties monitored and determines if and which one has changed. The DOM events fire on all property/style changes so the intermediate plug-in handler filters only those hits we’re interested in. If one of our monitored properties has changed the specified event handler function is called along with a data object and an index that identifies the property that’s changed in the data.props/data.vals arrays. The jQuery plugin to implement this functionality looks like this: (function($){ $.fn.watch = function (props, func, interval, id) { /// <summary> /// Allows you to monitor changes in a specific /// CSS property of an element by polling the value. /// when the value changes a function is called. /// The function called is called in the context /// of the selected element (ie. this) /// </summary> /// <param name="prop" type="String">CSS Properties to watch sep. by commas</param> /// <param name="func" type="Function"> /// Function called when the value has changed. /// </param> /// <param name="interval" type="Number"> /// Optional interval for browsers that don't support DOMAttrModified or propertychange events. /// Determines the interval used for setInterval calls. /// </param> /// <param name="id" type="String">A unique ID that identifies this watch instance on this element</param> /// <returns type="jQuery" /> if (!interval) interval = 100; if (!id) id = "_watcher"; return this.each(function () { var _t = this; var el$ = $(this); var fnc = function () { __watcher.call(_t, id) }; var data = { id: id, props: props.split(","), vals: [props.split(",").length], func: func, fnc: fnc, origProps: props, interval: interval, intervalId: null }; // store initial props and values $.each(data.props, function (i) { data.vals[i] = el$.css(data.props[i]); }); el$.data(id, data); hookChange(el$, id, data); }); function hookChange(el$, id, data) { el$.each(function () { var el = $(this); if (typeof (el.get(0).onpropertychange) == "object") el.bind("propertychange." + id, data.fnc); else if ($.browser.mozilla) el.bind("DOMAttrModified." + id, data.fnc); else data.intervalId = setInterval(data.fnc, interval); }); } function __watcher(id) { var el$ = $(this); var w = el$.data(id); if (!w) return; var _t = this; if (!w.func) return; // must unbind or else unwanted recursion may occur el$.unwatch(id); var changed = false; var i = 0; for (i; i < w.props.length; i++) { var newVal = el$.css(w.props[i]); if (w.vals[i] != newVal) { w.vals[i] = newVal; changed = true; break; } } if (changed) w.func.call(_t, w, i); // rebind event hookChange(el$, id, w); } } $.fn.unwatch = function (id) { this.each(function () { var el = $(this); var data = el.data(id); try { if (typeof (this.onpropertychange) == "object") el.unbind("propertychange." + id, data.fnc); else if ($.browser.mozilla) el.unbind("DOMAttrModified." + id, data.fnc); else clearInterval(data.intervalId); } // ignore if element was already unbound catch (e) { } }); return this; } })(jQuery); Note that there’s a corresponding .unwatch() plug-in that can be used to stop monitoring properties. The ID parameter is optional both on watch() and unwatch() – a standard name is used if you don’t specify one, but it’s a good idea to use unique names for each element watched to avoid overlap in event ids especially if you’re monitoring many elements. The syntax is: $.fn.watch = function(props, func, interval, id) props A comma delimited list of CSS style properties that are to be watched for changes. If any of the specified properties changes the function specified in the second parameter is fired. func The function fired in response to a changed styles. Receives this as the element changed and an object parameter that represents the watched properties and their respective values. The first parameter is passed in this structure: { id: watcherId, props: [], vals: [], func: thisFunc, fnc: internalHandler, origProps: strPropertyListOnWatcher }; A second parameter is the index of the changed property so data.props[i] or data.vals[i] gets the property and changed value. interval The interval for setInterval() for those browsers that don't support property watching in the DOM. In milliseconds. id An optional id that identifies this watcher. Required only if multiple watchers might be hooked up to the same element. The default is _watcher if not specified. It’s been a Journey I started building this plug-in about two years ago and had to make many modifications to it in response to changes in jQuery and also in browser behaviors. I think the latest round of changes made should make this plug-in fairly future proof going forward (although I hope there will be better cross-browser change event notifications in the future). One of the big problems I ran into had to do with recursive change notifications – it looks like starting with jQuery 1.44 and later, jQuery internally modifies element properties on some calls to some .css()  property retrievals and things like outerHeight/Width(). In IE this would cause nasty lock up issues at times. In response to this I changed the code to unbind the events when the handler function is called and then rebind when it exits. This also makes user code less prone to stack overflow recursion as you can actually change properties on the base element. It also means though that if you change one of the monitors properties in the handler the watch() handler won’t fire in response – you need to resort to a setTimeout() call instead to force the code to run outside of the handler: $("#notebox") el.watch("top,left,height,width,display,opacity", function (data, i) { var el = $(this); … // this makes el changes work setTimeout(function () { el.css("top", 10) },10); }) Since I’ve built this component I’ve had a lot of good uses for it. The .shadow() fallback functionality is one of them. Resources The watch() plug-in is part of ww.jquery.js and the West Wind West Wind Web Toolkit. You’re free to use this code here or the code from the toolkit. • can't get rid of top and bottom drop shadows

    - by Jawad
    Why with the following code, I still can't get rid of drop shadows at the top and bottom. Although the drop shadows are "small", yet still they are there. div#inner_container { width: 960px; margin: 0px auto; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); box-shadow: 0 9px 0px 0px transparent, 0 -9px 0px 0px transparent, 12px 0 15px -4px rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.5), -12px 0 15px -4px rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.5); position: relative; z-index: 5000; }

  • css menu <ul><li> dinamically centered or width of buttons that covers the whole page

    - by Tony Stark
    I am building a home page for my minecraft server. Probably in the following 4-6 months I will opend my second and this is why I am in trouble. My first site is 1000 pixel wide, and the second will be 1200. First big difference. My menus are dinamically generated by my php code. It checks on my databases if there is another button or it is over. These buttons can be added or removed directly online. Another big issue is the browser compatibility. In a survey I did on our previous server I had a lot of users using: chrome, internet explorer, safari and firefox. That means that I must find a solution that is compatible with most browsers. What do I have to do? I came up with this CSS, which is touch compatible, it allows menus to be swapped to the left and it is enough to set 1 parameter to fix it for every page width. Sadly it is left aligned. body, nav, ul, li, a {margin: 0; padding: 0;} body {font-family: Verdana,"Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; } a {text-decoration: none;} .container { max-width: 900px; margin: 0px auto 0px auto; } .toggleMenu { display: none; background: #666; padding: 10px 15px; color: #999999; } .nav { border: 1px solid #424242; background-color: #121212; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr='#686868', endColorstr='#121212'); background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(#686868, #121212); background-image: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, from(#686868), to(#121212)); background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(#686868, #121212); background-image: -o-linear-gradient(#686868, #121212); background-image: -ms-linear-gradient(#686868, #121212); background-image: linear-gradient(#686868, #121212); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 1px #777, 0 1px 0 #666 inset; -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 1px #777, 0 1px 0 #666 inset; box-shadow: 0 1px 1px #777, 0 1px 0 #666 inset; list-style: none; *zoom: 1; position: relative; } .nav:before,.nav:after { content: " "; display: table; } .nav:after { clear: both; } .nav ul { list-style: none; width: 11em; z-index: 1; background-color: #121212; -moz-box-shadow: 0 -1px rgba(255,255,255,.3); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); } .nav a { padding: 10px 15px; color:#999999; text-transform: uppercase; font: bold 11px Arial, Helvetica; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: 0 1px 0 #000; *zoom: 1; } .nav a:hover{ color:#000000; background-color: #B2B2B2; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr='#D3D3D3', endColorstr='#B2B2B2'); background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(#D3D3D3, #B2B2B2); background-image: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, from(#D3D3D3), to(#B2B2B2)); background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(#D3D3D3, #B2B2B2); background-image: -o-linear-gradient(#D3D3D3, #B2B2B2); background-image: -ms-linear-gradient(#D3D3D3, #B2B2B2); background-image: linear-gradient(#D3D3D3, #B2B2B2); } /*Delimitazione di ogni tab | HOME | */ .nav li { position: relative; border-right: 1px solid #424242; -moz-box-shadow: 1px 0 0 #686868; -webkit-box-shadow: 1px 0 0 #686868; box-shadow: 1px 0 0 #686868; } .nav > li { float: left; border-top: 1px solid #424242; z-index: 200; } .nav > li > .parent { background-image: url("../downArrow.png"); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center right; } .nav > li li > .parent { background-image: url("../rightArrow.png"); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center right; } .nav > li > a { display: block; } .nav li ul { position: absolute; left: -9999px; z-index: 100; } /* freccetta che indica un sottomenu nell'ultimo tab */ .nav > li:last-child li > .parent{ background-image: url("../leftArrow.png"); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: left; } /*flip subsubmenu*/ .nav li.last.hover > ul { left:auto; right: 0; } .nav > li.hover > ul { left: 0; } .nav li li.hover > ul { left: 100%; top: 0; } /* Spostare il 2^ sottomenu a sinistra */ .nav li.last li.hover ul { left:auto; right: 100%; top:0; } .nav li li a { display: block; background-color: #686868; -moz-box-shadow: 0 -1px rgba(255,255,255,.3); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); z-index:100; border-top: 1px solid #686868; } .nav li li li a { background-color: #686868; -moz-box-shadow: 0 -1px rgba(255,255,255,.3); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); z-index:200; border-top: 1px solid #686868; } .nav li li li li a { display: block; background-color: #686868; -moz-box-shadow: 0 -1px rgba(255,255,255,.3); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); z-index:300; border-top: 1px solid #686868; } .nav li li li li a { background-color: #686868; -moz-box-shadow: 0 -1px rgba(255,255,255,.3); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); box-shadow: 0 -1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,.3); z-index:400; border-top: 1px solid #686868; } @media screen and (max-width: 768px) { .active { display: block; } .nav > li { float: none; } .nav > li > .parent { background-position: 95% 50%; } .nav li li .parent { background-image: url("../downArrow.png"); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 95% 50%; } .nav ul { display: block; width: 100%; } .nav > li.hover > ul , .nav li li.hover ul { position: static; } } My girlfriend (who adapted this code) is really busy for school and cannot help me. Leaving the borders on the whole square (page width), is it possible to make buttons cover the page width dinamically? Or is it possible to center the buttons? Thank you very much!

  • Raytraced Shadows Problem

    - by Mat
    Hey There! I've got a problem with shadowrays in my raytracer. Please have a look at the following two pictures 3D sMax: My Raytracer: The scene is lit by a very bright light, shining from the back. It's so bright that there is no gradient in the shading, just either white or dark (due to the overexposure). both images were rendered using 3DStudioMax and both use the exact same geometry, just in one case the normals are interpolated across the triangles. Now consider the red dot on the surface. In the case of the unsmoothed version, it lies in a dark area. this means that the light source is not visible from this triangle, since it's facing away from it. In the smoothed version however, it lies in the lit area, because the interpolated normal would suggest, that the light would be visible at that point (although the actual geometry of the triangle is facing away from the lightsource). My problem now is when raytraced shadows come in. if a shadowray is shot into the scene, from the red dot, to test whether the light-source is visible or not (to determine shadowing), the shadowray will return an intersection, independent of whether normals are interpolated or not (because intersections only depend on the geometry). Therefore the pixel would be shaded dark. 3dsamx is handling the case correctly - the rendered image was generated with Raytraced shadows turned on. However, my own Raytracer runs exactly into this problem when i turn on raytraced shadows (in my raytracer, the point is dark in both cases, because raytraced shadows determine the point lying in the shadow), and i don't know how to solve it. I hope someone knows this problem and how to deal with it.. thanks!

    I tried to make box-shadow affect work cross browsers, in order to make ie work I used "filter" property but the effect cascades to the child element (in my case a span) I tried to stop it by using filter : none but it didn't work searched the web but I couldn't find a solution. please help me solve this problem. HTML code : <div id="shadow"> <span>text text</span> </div> CSS code : #shadow{ -moz-box-shadow: 3px 3px 4px #000; -webkit-box-shadow: 3px 3px 4px #000; box-shadow: 3px 3px 4px #000; /* For IE 8 */ -ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Shadow(Strength=4, Direction=135, Color='#000000')"; /* For IE 5.5 - 7 */ filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Shadow(Strength=4, Direction=135, Color='#000000'); }

  • How to make an inner shadow effect on big font ?

    - by Relax
    I want to make the effect as demonstrate on this site http://dropshadow.webvex.limebits.com/ with arguments - left:0 top:0 blur:1 opacity:1 examples:engraved font:sans serif I tried #333333 -1px -1px but seems not enough to make an inner shadow on such big font, it may be much more complex than i thought? And worse is i'm using Cufon to replace the font but Cufon doesn't support blur of text-shadow I guess maybe i should use JS to make this effect, but i doubt JS will work together with Cufon, or JS font replacement together with JS shadow maker? Any ideas?
