  What is the recommended way of having several cabal packages in one directory? Why: I have an old project with many separable modules. Since originally they formed just one program it was, and still is, handy to have them in same directory for easy compiling. Options Just suffer and split everything, including VCS holding the stuff, into different directories? Hack cabal until it is happy with multiple .cabal files in same directory? Make another subdirectory for each module and put .cabal files there along with symlinks to original pieces of code? Something smarter? What?

However, the problem is that the reasoner should infer that margherita-example should be also an vegetarian pizza. Could anyone please give an example that shows how to find an individual's possible inferred classes like in Protege ?(Protege correctly infers that Example-Margherita is a Vegetarian Pizza. However, I can't infer programmatically)

• Log to rolling CSV file with Enterprise Library

  Need logging to: Rolling file, to avoid 1 big log file. CSV format for easier look up. I can see EntLib (5.0) have Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Logging.TraceListeners.RollingFlatFileTraceListener to log to rolling log file. To make the log entries look like a CSV row, I can change the Logging.Formatters.TextFormatter.Template to put double quote around the values. Also change the Listener's Footer and Header to nothing, so they won't be output. Under normal circumstance, this would give me a well formed CSV file. However if a token value in the Template contain double quote, this would not be escaped, hence the log file become an invalid CSV file. Is there any way to resolve this? Is there any alternative solutions to this problem?

• HTTP status code for "success with errors"?

  I've poked around a bit, but I don't see an HTTP status code for when a request's succeeds, but there is an error after the "point of no return". e.g., Say you process a request, its committed to the database, but while returning the result you run of memory, or encounter a NPE, or what have you. It would have been a 200 response, but now, internally, you aren't able to return the proper, well-formed response. 202 Accepted doesn't seem to fit since we've already processed the request. What status code means "Success, but errors"? Does one even exist?

• Python.expat can't parse XML file with bad symbols. How to go around?

  I'm trying to parse an XML file with expat, and here's the line where I get bad token exception: <tag k="name" v="???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????" /> xml.parsers.expat.ExpatError: not well-formed (invalid token): line 610127, column 37 The symbols in hex look like: \xd1? Seems like someone wrote this string (Russian alfabet) hitting backspace a few times. I set parser.returns_unicode = True, but this didn't help. The 1st line is <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>. I work with a bz2 file. (bz2.BZ2File) How can I parse the file?

• Parsing prototype AJAX.response XML in IE

  Hi I have an xml webservice which I'm fetching using PrototypeJS. The xml has the correct content type and is well-formed, and looks like this: <GetTokenResponse xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"> <GetTokenResult>F655100D64F098F0AC33AFF414A4A0D5</GetTokenResult> </GetTokenResponse> The AJAX request is completing successfully, and I can access the GetTokenResult node in both IE and FF but can only get the text content of the node in FF. My code is below: node = transport.responseXML.documentElement.getElementsByTagName('GetTokenResult')[0]; rawToken = (document.all) ? node.innerText : node.textContent; I've tried innerText and innerHTML, as well as children[0] and a few other chance guesses but IE returns 'undefined' when I access rawToken. • PostgreSQL 8.3 data types: xml vs varchar

  There's xml data type in Postgres, I never used it before so I'd like to hear opinions. Downsides and upsides vs using regular varchar (or Text) column to store xml. The text I'm going to store is xml, well-formed, UTF-8. No need to search by it (I've read searching by xml is slow). This XML actually is data prepared for PDF generation with Apache FOP. XML can be generated dynamically from data found elsewhere (other Postgres tables), it's stored as is only so that I won't need to generate it twice. Kinda backup#2 for already generated PDF documents. Anything else to know? Good practices, performance, maintenance, etc?

  Given a phone keypad as shown below: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 How many different 10-digit numbers can be formed starting from 1? The constraint is that the movement from 1 digit to the next is similar to the movement of the Knight in a chess game. For eg. if we are at 1 then the next digit can be either 6 or 8 if we are at 6 then the next digit can be 1, 7 or 0. Repetition of digits are allowed - 1616161616 is a valid number. Is there a polynomial time algorithm which solves this problem? The problem requires us to just give the count of 10-digit numbers and not necessarily list the numbers.

• How do i create an array of unequal length arrays?

  Hello everyone, I need to create a sort of 2D array in which each one of the secondary arrays are of different length. I have a 1D array of known length (which defines the number of arrays to be formed) with each element having a number that denotes the length of the secondary array in that position. Each one of the arrays are fairly large so i don't want to create a one-size-fits-all "fake" 2D heap array to cover everything. How would i go about doing this? Any 2D array I have made before are always rectangular. I'm trying to do this so that i can create some code to dynamically generate threads to split up some workload. Thanks, -Faken

• jQuery UI AutoComplete remote json response question

  I was using geonames.org to autocomplete city and state but found it to be far too slow to be reliable. The issue is that I don't seem to understand how to properly map the response. • Download estimator control using JavaScript and Ajax

  I would like to implement the download estimator using the JavaScript and the Ajax. I have gone trough Google to find the existing implementations for the download estimator and i found most of the time asking user bandwidth and then calculating the number is strategy. It good approach and there is hardly anything on reliable to get the estimated time right. What i would like to try is use Ajax to request file size 100KB - 200 KB and do the maths get the number and update the display. Now this is surrounded with so many questions like network, number of packets formed, proxies etc ? These all factors are sufficient to turn down the approach. But THIS IS HOW I HAVE TO DO THIS ? Now i would like here inputs from you all to make it better (as good discussion)? what all can be added to this ? Can we get to know bandwidth user using without asking ?

• jPlayer problem in Firefox - also throws error from jQuery?! Not related to OGG support.

  I've been working on a small SVG website, http://docroot.ca/ - the SVG part has been working out pretty well. In the current site, jPlayer is called and given an mp3. jPlayer functions properly in Safari, Chrome, and Opera, but not Firefox which throws the following two errors: Error: not well-formed Source File: Line: 1, Column: 191 Source Code: <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><embed name="jqjp_flash_0" id="jqjp_flash_0" src="js/Jplayer.swf" width="0" height="0" bgcolor="#ffffff" quality="high" FlashVars="id=jPlayerBox&fid=jqjp_flash_0&vol=80" allowScriptAccess="always" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /></ and: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception...   I have created a web service with JAX-WS. When the input SOAP message is not well formed or can not be validated, a soap fault is returned automatically to the caller. I dont want the caller to receive this standard SOAP message but i want to create an own custom SOAP fault. So if the call looks like this (note Envelope1, its not valid): hello a default return message is something like this: S:Client Couldn't create SOAP message due to exception: unexpected XML tag. expected: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Envelope but found: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Envelope1 I want the return message to be something like this: S:Client My own custom SOAP message!   Hi. I am trying to use JSON.stringify() (from json2.js of json[dot]org ) to convert a JavaScript array to JSON string and to pass it to an asmx web method. I use jQuery AJAX. The call reaches the web method where I take a List <Object> as parameter but I get an empty list there in debug mode. My JSON string looks like well formed with all data , I even tried having single-quotes and double-quotes(escaped) around the 'names' of the JSON string. Please help.
