  • C# Console Program Won't Execute from Command Prompt

    I have made a very simple program in C#. When I double click the compiled exe, it executes and works. When I run the exe from the command prompt, it does absolutely nothing. I have tried executing it from an Administrator command prompt also. I am on Windows 7. This is very frustrating.   • "type" Command Not Working As Expected on Git Bash

    The type command, in Linux, returns the location, on the filesystem, of the given file, if it is in the current folder or the $PATH. This functionality is also available through Windows with the Git Bash command line program. The command also returns a file's location given the file without its extension (.exe, .vbs, etc.) However, I have run into what seems like a strange corner case where the file exists on the $PATH but doesn't get returned using the command. I am thinking of buying a new computer soon, so I looked up the method of transferring the license key from one computer to another, in preparation for actually doing this. The method I found mentioned the files slmgr.vbs and slui.exe, both of which reside in the C:/Windows\System32 folder, which is in my $PATH, as usual for a Windows computer. However, these two files aren't showing up when I use the type command. Also, neither gets executed when I call the files as commands without their extensions in Git Bash, and only slmgr.vbs gets executed when I call them with the extensions. Finally, slmgr.vbs is shown when listing the folder's contents in Git Bash, as well, but slui.exe isn't. I thought this might have to do with permissions, and, indeed, both files have very restrictive permissions, as you can see in the pictures below, but they both have the same permissions, which wouldn't explain why one gets executed and the other doesn't when called directly, nor why one file is listed on command line but the other isn't.     Currently I am working on a legacy web page that uses a ton of javascript, jquery, microsoft client javascript, and other libraries. The bottom line - I cannot rewrite the entire page from scratch as the business cannot justify it. So... it is what it is. Anyway, I need to pollute (I really tried not too) the global namespace with a variable. There are the three options I was thinking - Just store/retrieve it using a normal javascript declaration - var x = 0; Utilize jQuery to store/retrieve the value in a DOM tag - $("body").data("x", 0); Utilize a hidden form field, and set/retrieve the value with jQuery - $("whatever").data("x", 0); What does everyone think? Is there a better way? I looked at the existing pile of code and I do not believe the variable can be scoped in a function.

  • Open Source Embedded Database Options for .Net Applications

    I have a .Net 4.0 WPF application that requires an embedded database. MS Access doesn't work on 64 bit Windows I'm told. And I having issues with SSCE: Unable to load DLL 'sqlceme35.dll': This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800736B1) sqlceme35.dll is installed into my application's program files directory, so I can't seem to figure out why Windows XP Pro doesn't see it. I was wondering about other embedded databases options I might use that work on both 32 and 64 bit windows. Any suggestions?

  • OpenGLES mix and match blending options complicated question

    So I have a background line drawing, black and white. I want to be able to draw over this, keeping the black lines in there, and drawing only where it is white. I can do this by using glBlendFunc(GL_DST_COLOR, GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA); And the black stays black and white gets whatever color I want. However in the white areas, I want to be able to draw some color, pick to another color and then blend. However this doesn't work because the blend function is messed up. So what I was thinking is having a linedrawing framebuffer, and a user-drawing framebuffer. The user draws into the userdrawing framebuffer, with a different blending, and then I switch blending options and draw into the linedrawing framebuffer. But i don't know enough OpenGL to say whether or not this will work or is a stupid idea. Thanks a lot

    I am looking to create a web-project that is able to install with a program. The user should be able to download an archive file or tar file, run it (executable), and the setup script would ask for paths and configurable values and then unpack its 'payload' and sorting out the contents for deployment. This would be a Linux version of the MSI installer. Is there such a thing for Linux operating systems? This does not involve kernel level manipulations. All it needs to do is copy directories and files on the filesystem, which should cover about 80% if not more of all the *nix distributions.

    I have an ImageKit program that needs to be able to save images, so I'm using the IKSaveOptions accessory view, to allow the user to choose a file type, etc. However, I want to remove some of the options, and add a checkbox to the panel for TIFFs. Alternatively, I want to add a type of file. However I can't figure out how to do this. I assume I'm going to have to subclass off of IKSaveOptions and over-ride something, but I can't find any sample code or documentation that tells me how to do this. ETA: In particular, I need to be able to allow the user to distinguish between multi-page tiff, and a bunch of single-page tiffs with a page-number appended.

  • What are some RCP Deployment Options?

    We have an RCP application and we are looking for a better way to do installation/updates. Currently to install, they just unzip a zip file. The zip file also contains scripts in it that are not java code. We were running into some bugs when updating if they don't first delete the old folder that was previous unzipped. The issue with deleting the folder is that the user loses the plugin preferences that were set. The installation would also need to register a COM server. The update would have to update the plugins and also replace the current script folder. What are some of the best options that could be used for installing and updating rcp apps? Thanks!

  • jQuery jPicker path issues when used in WordPress Theme Options

    Anyone with experience using jPicker colorpicker in a WordPress Custom Theme options panel. I believe that the default path for the jPicker resources is /jPicker/ relative to the location the js file appears, however, I'm not seeing the picker.gif icon, so I tried changing the path in the js file like so... images:{clientPath:"../wp-content/themes/myTheme/images/" Everything else appears to be working at first load. My bound input field's background color is the same as the currently selected color. However, the picker.gif icon is missing. Where it should appear, I've just got a 2px wide by 20px tall color element (looks like a div perhaps).

    Okay, let's start with an example. Keep in mind, this is only an example. <select id = "selection1">     <option value = "1" id = "1">Number 1</option>     <option value = "2" id = "2">Number 2</option>     <option value = "3" id = "3">Number 3</option> </select> Now from here, we have a dropdown with 3 options. What I want to do now is to hide an option. Adding style = "display:none" will not help. The option would not appear in the dropdownlist, but using the arrow keys, you can still select it. Essentially, it does exactly what the code says. It isn't displayed, and it stops there. A JQuery function of $("#1").hide() will not work. Plus, I don't only want to hide the option, I want to completely remove it. Any possibility on doing so? Do I have to use parent/sibling/child elements? If so, I'm still not sure how. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.           Another question - It's related Ok, so I found out that there is a .remove() available in JQuery. Works well. But what if I want to bring it back? if(condition)     {     $(this).remove();     } I can loops this. Shouldn't be complicated.     I have SQL Server 2008 SP2. I noticed that DBs by default have Properties | Options | Miscellaneous | ANSI Padding Enabled = FALSE. However, this BOL article warns against setting it to off (no reason given). Further, this article states this feature is going to be deprecated. I have two questions: What is the "problem" with having it off for current work (future deprecation aside)? Why is it defaulted to FALSE when BOL says the default is ON, and should this setting therefore be changed?

    I have innoDB table using numerous foreign keys, but we just want to look up some basic info out of it. I've done some research but still lost. 1) How can I tell if my host has Sphinx installed already? I don't see it as an option for table storage method (i.e. innodb, myisam). 2) Zend_Search_Lucene, responsive enough for AJAX functionality of millions of records? 3) Mirror my innoDB with a myisam? Make every innodb transaction end with a write to the myisam, then use 1:1 lookups? How would I do this automagically? This should make MyISAM ACID-compliant and free(er) from corruption no? 4) PostgreSQL fulltext queries don't even look like SQL to me wtf, I don't have time to learn a new SQL syntax I need noob options 5) ???????????????????? This is high volume site on a decently-equipped VPS Thanks very much for any ideas.
