  • Returning form errors for AJAX request in Django

    Hi Guys, I've been finding my way around Django and jQuery. I've built a basic form in Django. On clicking submit, I'm using jQuey to make an AJAX request to the sever to post my data. This bit seems to work fine and I've managed to save the data. Django returns a ValidatioError when a form is invalid. Could anyone tell me how to return this set of error messages as a response to my AJAX request so i can easily iterate through it using JS and do whatever? I found this snippet. Looking at the JS bit (processJson) you'll see that he seems to get the error messages by extracting them from the response HTML. It seems kinda kludgy to me. Is this a best way to go about it? My apologies for any vagueness. Thanks in advance.

    When I run php-closure i get a PHP error Undefined index: HTTP_IF_NONE_MATCH in <b>/php-closure.php</b> on line <b>183</b> Line 184 of php-closure is trim($_SERVER['HTTP_IF_NONE_MATCH']) == $etag) { This error only happens when closure has already written the compressed javascript file to the directory once, if the directory is emptied the error does not appear.     I am trying to build Marble on Windows (XP) and have been extremely unsuccessful. Following the instructions written here. I am wanting to build it as QT only. Configuration of the build tree fails. I am using the cmake-gui since I have never tried to compile using cmake it's possible it could be something in there. I found a similar issue; however, they compiled QT using Visual Studio and I am using QT Creator which compiles with MinGW so I need to compile in a different manner.     Hi Everybody, I have a deeper question regarding debug functionality of Linq to Sql SubmitChanges() Function. I want to save a record in a table of a locally cached db (localdbcache: server SqlExpress 2008 client SqlCE). Before calling SubmitChanges I can find the new item via DataContext.GetChangeSet(). After calling Submit Changes, the items to insert have been removed from the ChangeSet. (That's what this function is supposed to do.) There are no Changes Conflicts and no error in the db's log output. No Exception at all.   • Running SQL script through psql gives syntax errors that don't occur in PgAdmin

    Hi I have the following script to create a table: -- Create State table. DROP TABLE IF EXISTS "State" CASCADE; CREATE TABLE "State" ( StateID SERIAL PRIMARY KEY NOT NULL, StateName VARCHAR(50) ); It runs fine in the query tool of PgAdmin.     I have code that boils down to the following: template struct Foo {}; template & I struct FooBar {}; //////// template struct Baz {}; template & I struct Baz< FooBar { static void func(FooBar& value); }; //////// struct MyStruct { static const Foo s_floatFoo; }; // Elsewhere: const Foo MyStruct::s_floatFoo; void callBaz() { typedef FooBar FloatFooBar; FloatFooBar myFloatFooBar; Baz::func(myFloatFooBar); } This compiles successfully under GCC, however, under VS2005, I get: error C2039: 'func' : is not a member of 'Baz' with [ T=FloatFooBar ] error C3861: 'func': identifier not found However, if I change const Foo<T>& I to const Foo<T>* I (passing I by pointer rather than by reference), and defining FloatFooBar as: typedef FooBar FloatFooBar; Both GCC and VS2005 are happy. What's going on? Is this some kind of subtle template substitution failure that VS2005 is handling differently to GCC, or a compiler bug? (The strangest thing: I thought I had the above code working in VS2005 earlier this morning. But that was before my morning coffee. I'm now not entirely certain I wasn't under some sort of caffeine-craving-induced delirium...)

    I'm working on a simply password strength checker and i can not success applying regular expressions. In different resources different kinds of regular expressions are defined. i also find javascript regular expressions but had some problems to adapt. First, these are the regular expressions i need for JAVA: at least one lower case letter at least one upper case letter at least one number at least three numbers at least one special character at least two special characters both letters and numbers both upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters My goal is not being a regular expression expert i just want to use the parts i need.If you direct me good tutorials which discusses above for java, will be appreciated. Second, in this link some of them are mentioned but i'm getting problems to apply them. here does not catch the lower case letter (my pass: A5677a) if (passwd.matches("(?=.*[a-z])")) // [verified] at least one lower case letter {Score = Score+5;} Also here i'm getting error : illegal escape character. if (passwd.matches("(?=.*\d)")) // [verified] at least one number Finally, are these expressions all different in different kind of programming or script languages?

  • php: how to return an HTTP 500 code on any error, no matter what

    Hi guys. I'm writing an authentication script in PHP, to be called as an API, that needs to return 200 only in the case that it approves the request, and 403 (Forbidden) or 500 otherwise. The problem I'm running into is that php returns 200 in the case of error conditions, outputting the error as html instead. How can I make absolutely sure that php will return an HTTP 500 code unless I explicitly return the HTTP 200 or HTTP 403 myself? In other words, I want to turn any and all warning or error conditions into 500s, no exceptions, so that the default case is rejecting the authentication request, and the exception is approving it with a 200 code. I've fiddled with set_error_handler() and error_reporting(), but so far no luck. For example, if the code outputs something before I send the HTTP response code, PHP naturally reports that you can't modify header information after outputting anything. However, this is reported by PHP as a 200 response code with html explaining the problem. I need even this kind of thing to be turned into a 500 code. Is this possible in PHP? Or do I need to do this at a higher level like using mod_rewrite somehow? If that's the case, any idea how I'd set that up? Thanks for any help. Jake

    Hi, I have a client application that makes SOAP requests. I have set the timeout to 20 minutes. However, sometimes I see the timeout error occurring after 10 seconds. I have the following in code: RIO.HTTPWebNode.ReceiveTimeout := 1200000 Do I need to set the ConnectTimeout and SendTimeOut? Currently they are set to the default values of 0. What difference would setting these make? I am using Delphi 2007. Looking further at the error message I see I get "The operation timed out....". So should I be setting my ReceiveTimeOut to zero since I really do not want any timeout at all?

  • How to Debug XAML Parsing Errors in Silverlight?

    I run into the following issue semi-regularly: I make changes to XAML or some resources used by it and when I go to load up the Silverlight project in debug mode it only gets as far as the spinning Silverlight-loading animation. I've tried attaching the VS08 debugger to the process but it doesn't do anything at this point (works fine once I'm in the Silverlight but not before.) From previous experience I've noticed this happens when there're problems with the XAML or the resources in it but my only solution so far has been to dissect the code line-by-line until I spot the problem. Is there an easy way to debug/diagnose these situations? UPDATE I found this question with some help, but it still doesn't provide a good way to debug these types of issues.

    Hi All, I'm using a DTF immediate custom action. The Custom Action takes minimum of 5 minutes to perform its operation. Until that in the progress dialog, only the progress text is visible. The progress bar doesn't move at all. I set the ProgressText in the WiX file. How can i make the progress bar to move, so that it will be much user friendly. Now its just idle. It makes the feeling that the installer is struck in that action. Could someone please help me, how to give value to the progress control from C# DTF Custom Action. Thanks, Varun

  • finding a string of random characters (with possible errors) within a large string of random charact

    I am trying to search a large string w/o spaces for a smaller string of characters. using regex I can easily find perfect matches but I can't figure out how to find partial matches. by partial matches i mean one or two extra characters in the string or one or two characters that have been changed, or one of each. the first and last characters will always match though. this would be similar to a spell checker but there are no spaces and the strings dont contain actual words, just random hex digits. i figured a way to find the string if there are no extra characters using indexOf(string.charAt(0)) and indexOf(charAt(string.length()-1) and looping through the characters between the two indexes. but this can be problematic when dealing with randomized characters because of the possibility of finding the first and last characters at the correct spacing but none of the middle characters matching. i've been scratching my head for hours on this issue. any ideas?

(thousands of cache items, and there will so many subscriptions in SQL as well as issues with registration in ASP.Net) I want to use this in ASP.Net VirtualPathProvider's our custom implementation, so I can pass this CustomCacheDependecy to notify the asp.net that file content in the DB has changed.
