    In one of the virtual environment while I was trying to add SQL Server Database (.mdf) file to asp.net project I encountered following error: Connections to SQL Server files (.mdf) require SQL Server Express 2005 to function properly. Please verify the installation of the component or download from the URL:  For a long time I am using SQL Server 2012 but this error was a bit interesting to me. I realize that there should not be any need of the SQL Server 2005 installation. I quickly figured out that I can remove this error if I do as mentioned below: Open Microsoft Visual Studio Select Tools >> Options >> Database Tools >> Data Connections Enter the name of an installed instance in “SQL Server Instance Name” field. Click OK If you do not know the instance name, you can follow either of the options. 1) Use the command line sqlcmd utility 2) Using SQL Server Management Studio Is there any other way to resolve this error?   • When does a Tumbling Window Start in StreamInsight

Windows are then created from that point onwards of the size you specified in your code.  If a window contains no events they are not produced by the engine to the output.  This is why window start times can be before the first event is created.

    Just a day ago, I was doing small attempting to connect to my local SQL Server using IP 127.0.0.1. The IP is of my local machine and SQL Server is installed on the local box as well. However, whenever I try to connect to the server it gave me following strange error. Cannot connect to 127.0.0.1. Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18452) The reason was indeed strange as I was trying to connect from local box to local box and it said my login was from an untrusted domain. As my system is not part of any domain, this was really confusing to me. Another thing was that I have been always able to connect always using 127.0.0.1 to SQL Server and this was a bit strange to me. I started to think what did I change since it  last time I connected to SQL Server. Suddenly I remembered that I had modified my computer’s host file for some other purpose. Solution: I opened my host file and immediately added entry like 127.0.0.1 localhost. Once I added it I was able to reconnect to SQL Server as usual. The location of the host file is C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. You will find file with the name hosts in it, make sure to open it with notepad. If you are part of a domain and your organization is using active directory, make sure that your account is added properly to active directory as well have proper security permissions to execute the task.     I'm trying to setup a batch file to execute a set of stored procs and dump the output to a timestamped text file. I'm having problems finding the correct format for the timestamp. Here is what I'm using osql.exe -S <server> -E -Q "EXEC <stored procedure> " -o "c:\filename_%date:~-0,10%_%time:~-0,10%.txt" The error I get is: Cannot open output file - x:\filename_Thu 06/25/_16:26:43.1.txt No such file or directory I can't find the documentation and I've played around with it but can't find the correct format.

  • Bind9 not doing anything with forwarded query responses?

    I have a Bind DNS server that is the local production DNS server and a Windows 2008 R2 domain controller which provides DNS for a lab environment with the domain xyz.lab. I've configured the Bind DNS to forward DNS requests for the domain xyz.lab to the Windows DNS server with this config: zone "xyz.lab" { type forward; forward only; forwarders { x.x.x.x; }; }; zone "x.x.x.in-addr.arpa" { type forward; forward only; forwarders { x.x.x.x; }; }; And Bind options are (the all_internal acl includes the subnets of both the production and lab networks as well as the loopback of the bind server): allow-query { all_internal; }; allow-recursion { all_internal; }; allow-transfer { none; }; notify no; minimal-responses yes; version "unknown"; Unfortunately, when I do an nslookup or dig on the bind server for a host on the lab domain, the request times out. The logs on the Windows 2008 DNS server show it receiving the query and responding to it and a network packet trace shows the query responses arriving at the Bind DNS server. The servers reside on the same switch with a router providing connectivity between the layer 3 subnets (production and lab are on different subnets) and there is a round trip time of between 3ms and 5ms on pings between the two servers, so I don't think there is an issue with latency causing a timeout of the query. In summary a query-response arrives back at the Bind server and the nslookup/dig times-out. Why does the Bind DNS not seem to be doing anything with the query responses when it receives them?

    Hi every1, I'm using NOT IN inside my SQL query. For example: select columnA from table1 where columnA not in ( select columnB from table2) How is it possible that this part of the query select columnB from table2 takes 30sec to complete, but the whole query above takes 0.1sec to complete?? Shouldn't the complete query take 30sec + ? BTW, both queries return valid results. Thanks! Answers to Comments Is it because the second query hasn't actually completed but has only returned back the first 'x' rows (out of a very large table?) No, the query is completed after 30 seconds, not to many rows returned (eg. 50).   • The woes of (sometimes) storing "date only" in datetimes

    We have two fields from and to (of type datetime), where the user can store the begin time and the end time of a business trip, e.g.: From: 2010-04-14 09:00 To: 2010-04-16 16:30 So, the duration of the trip is 2 days and 7.5 hours. Often, the exact times are not known in advance, so the user enters the dates without a time: From: 2010-04-14 To: 2010-04-16 Internally, this is stored as 2010-04-14 00:00 and 2010-04-16 00:00, since that's what most modern class libraries (e.g. .net) and databases (e.g. SQL Server) do when you store a "date only" in a datetime structure. Usually, this makes perfect sense. However, when entering 2010-04-16 as the to date, the user clearly did not mean 2010-04-16 00:00. Instead, the user meant 2010-04-16 24:00, i.e., calculating the duration of the trip should output 3 days, not 2 days. I can think of a few (more or less ugly) workarounds for this problem (add "23:59" in the UI layer of the to field if the user did not enter a time component; add a special "dates are full days" Boolean field; store "2010-04-17 00:00" in the DB but display "2010-04-16 24:00" to the user if the time component is "00:00"; ...), all having advantages and disadvantages. Since I assume that this is a fairly common problem, I was wondering: Is there a "standard" best-practice way of solving it? If there isn't, have you experienced a similar requirement, how did you solve it and what were the pros/cons of that solution?

    How do I pretty print time duration in perl? The only thing I could come up with so far is my $interval = 1351521657387 - 1351515910623; # milliseconds my $duration = DateTime::Duration->new( seconds => POSIX::floor($interval/1000) , nanoseconds => 1000000 * ($interval % 1000), ); my $df = DateTime::Format::Duration->new( pattern => '%Y years, %m months, %e days, ' . '%H hours, %M minutes, %S seconds, %N nanoseconds', normalize => 1, ); print $df->format_duration($duration); which results in 0 years, 00 months, 0 days, 01 hours, 35 minutes, 46 seconds, 764000000 nanoseconds This is no good for me for the following reasons: I don't want to see "0 years" (space waste) &c and I don't want to remove "%Y years" from the pattern (what if I do need years next time?) I know in advance that my precision is only milliseconds, I don't want to see the 6 zeros in the nanoseconds part. I care about prettiness/compactness/human readability much more than about precision/machine readability. I.e., I want to see something like "1.2 years" or "3.22 months" or "7.88 days" or "5.7 hours" or "75.5 minutes" (or "1.26 hours, whatever looks better to you) or "24.7 seconds" or "133.7 milliseconds" &c (similar to how R prints difftime)

  • How do you obtain a formatted date and time for the current locale in C?

    What C function should I call to obtain a formatted date and time for the locale where the program is being executed? I'm asking this question because I have run into a problem using the ClamAV daemon API. The VERSION command returns the date and time of the latest virus definitions, but the code uses a call to ctime to format it. As far as I can tell ctime does not format the datetime according to the current locale and uses the English abbreviations for days of the week and the month in the returned string. This causes problems as my Java program which uses the ClamAV API does respect the current locale and thus expects the day of the week and month name to have the local abbreviations. The datetime format would need to be in the same format as that produced by ctime: Www Mmm dd hh:mm:ss yyyy Where Www is the weekday, Mmm the month in letters, dd the day of the month, hh:mm:ss the time, and yyyy the year. I could rewrite the Java program to always assume English dates but I'd be happier to submit a patch to ClamAV as it seems like a bug on their side to me.

    I've built a reservation form for a taxi company which works fine, but I'm having an issue with users making reservations that are due too soon in the future. Since the entire form is kind of long, I first want to make sure the user is not trying to make a reservation for less than an hour ahead of time, without them having to fill out the whole form.   • Accessing appropriate array of double arrays in order of last created.

    I have an array of double arrays, they are within a specified time window (8am-5pm), and are in order of last created over a period of several days. They are all timestamped and as such I have access to all C# DateTime methods. I then have a different iterative function that goes in the same order of the array of double arrays, however it isn't within a specified time window, it's 24/7. I want to access from this iterative function, the appropriate double array from the one within the window. Let's say that it's 4:30PM on DayOfYear 52, I'd like to access the last double array less than or equal to 4:30PM on DayOfYear 52. I'd expect the same double array if the time were 12:30AM on DayOfYear 53. So I'm a having a bit of trouble grokking how to do this. Is anyone willing to offer a starting point or how they'd approach it? Note that the format starts with DAY followed by MONTH. When I switch to edit mode, change the date in the TextBox to '31-01-2013' and press the GridView's update-link i get an error: Cannot convert value of parameter 'dtDateStart' from 'System.String' to 'System.DateTime' The error is generated by the GridView not my own code. It happens before the UpdateMethod of my DataSource is called. When i type '01-31-2012' the data is processed correctly and the value is updated into the database. Somehow when the date is displayed it uses format dd-MM-yyyy (just as I need it to) But when it reads the new value form the TextBox it uses MM-dd-yyyy Can somebody please help me?

  • In CakePHP, how do I create a form to list models withing a date range?

    I have a very simple model that includes the auto-filled field much like 'created'. (DateTime format). I'd like to use the Form helpers if possible, to validate the date fields and whatnot. I'd like a simple form with a "Begin Date" (YMD, 12 hours), and an "End Date" (same format). There is already a controller action set up as follows: function view_between($start_date = null, $end_date = null) { // ... stuff that works correctly when the URL is manually entered. } Have I defined the controller wrong, or how can I pass these values into that function? The reason I'm stuck is because I tried adding a $form->input('my_datetime_field' ...) twice, but obviously the name/id were the same on the respective elements. I have also tried using $form->dateTime(...) with similar results. I'm not sure how to uniquely identify a Begin and End date selection, when it should interact with a single field. Am I going about this wrong? A kind shove in the right direction should suffice.

  • How do I subtract two dates in Django/Python?

    Hi! I'm working on a little fitness tracker in order to teach myself Django. I want to graph my weight over time, so I've decided to use the Python Google Charts Wrapper. Google charts require that you convert your date into a x coordinate. To do this I want to take the number of days in my dataset by subtracting the first weigh-in from the last weigh-in and then using that to figure out the x coords (for example, I could 100 by the result and increment the x coord by the resulting number for each y coord.) Anyway, I need to figure out how to subtract Django datetime objects from one another and so far, I am striking out on both google and here at the stack. I know PHP, but have never gotten a handle on OO programming, so please excuse my ignorance.   • Objective-C and sqlite's DATETIME type.

    I have a sqlite3 table that I'm trying to map to an object in objective-C. One attribute of the table is 'completed_at' which is stored as a DATETIME. I want to create a property on my objective-C class (which inherits from NSObject) that will map well to the 'completed_at' attribute. Objective-C has an NSDate type but I'm not sure if that will map directly?
