  • Passing XML data and user from coldfusion page to .NET page

    I'd appreciate some input on this situation, I can't figure out the best way to do this. I have some data that's being prepared for me in a ColdFusion app and in an IFrame within the CF app we want to display some graphs (not strictly an image, it's an entire page) being generated on the .NET side of things. I'd like to pass XML data from the CF side to .NET as well as the user. On the .NET side I'm putting the data in a session so the user can sift through it without the need to have it re-queried and re-passed from CF. What I've tried: Generating XML with CF, putting it in a hidden form field, auto-submitting (with JS) a the form to the .NET side. The issue I'm having with this approach is the encoding being done on the form post. The data has entries like <entry data="hello &amp; goodbye">. It's an issue because it's being URL encdeded, Posted, and when I get it on the .NET side I get <entry data="hello & goodbye"> which isn't properly formed XML. What I'd like to avoid: An intermediary DB approach (dropping the data in a DB on CF, picking it up with .NET) I'd like to only display what is passed to the page. I have security concerns with the data, it's very sensitive. Passing the data to a webservice, returning a GUID, forwarding the user with a URL Parameter to access the passed in data. I think that'd be risky if someone happened on a link to that data. I can't take that risk. I was thinking of passing the data with JSON, but I'm very unfamiliar with it. Thoughts?   • When iterating over values, why does typeof(value) return "string" when value is a number? Javascrip

    I'm using Google Chrome for this test: Contrary to intuition, the first loop alerts "string" 3 times, while the second loop alerts "number" 3 times. numarray = [1, 2, 3]; //for-each loop for(num in numarray) alert(typeof(num)); //standard loop for(i=0; i<numarray.length; i++) alert(typeof(numarray[i])); I was expecting both loops to alert "number" 3 times. How is the first loop implemented in Javascript? In other words, if the for-each is syntactic sugar, what is its equivalent using a standard loop? Also, is there some way to iterate over an object's namespace using a standard loop? I'm looking to touch every one of some object's methods and attributes using a loop of the second kind. I'm new to Javascript and any help is highly appreciated, thanks.

  • How can one configure Hudson to integrate with Sventon?

    Dear ladies and sirs. Hudson ver. 1.353 Sventon ver. 2.14 I just cannot figure out how to configure Hudson to work with Sventon. It seems that the path format that Hudson expects from Sventon is not the format used by Sventon. Any ideas? Thanks. UPDATE Given an SVN repository with the name of windows, the Sventon URL path to the repository is http://dev-builder:8080/svn/repos/windows/list/ However, Hudson expects something like http://dev-builder:8080/svn/repobrowser.svn?name=windows Can anyone explain how this should be configured?

    I am converting an application to use .dlls and I'm riddled with linker errors stating unersolved external symbol"__declspec(dllimport) public: void __thiscall Rail::SetNextrail(class Rail *)" There is more gibberish at the end of this error message. Why should this happen and how do you fix it? __declspec(dllimport) is being placed with a macro defined as: #ifdef LUDOAI_EXPORT #define DECLSPECAI __declspec(dllexport) #else #define DECLSPECAI __declspec(dllimport) #endif

  • http connection timeout issues

    I'm running into an issue when i try to use the HttpClient connecting to a url. The http connection is taking a longer time to timeout, even after i set a connection timeoout. int timeoutConnection = 5000; HttpConnectionParams.setConnectionTimeout(httpParameters, timeoutConnection); int timeoutSocket = 5000; HttpConnectionParams.setSoTimeout(httpParameters, timeoutSocket); It works perfect most of the time. However, every once in while, the http connection runs for ever and ignore the setconnectiontimeout, especailly when the phone is connected to wifi, and the phone was idling. So after the phone is idling, the first time i try to connect, the http connection ignores the setconnectiontimeout and runs forever, after i cancel it and try again, it works like charm everytime. But that one time that doesn't work it creates a threadtimeout error, i tried using a different thread, it works, but i know that the thread is running for long time. I understand that the wifi goes to sleep on idle, but i dont understand why its ignoring the setconnectiontimeout. Anyone can help, id really appreciated.

In Eclipse, if you place the cursor above the method and type: /**<Enter> you get a Javadoc template pre-populated with @param and @return tags. Is it possible to achieve something similar in Xcode?   • Read data from an Android USB attachment

    Is there anyway to read data from an attachment through the USB port on an Android device? In particular, an EKG. Most the work can be done by the hardware of the device to simplify the output to a single number, a voltage reading. If its not possible, what about modifying an accessory that can already communicate with an android device? Thinking of devices that attach to android phones, what about sending the data as an audio signal to be read as the microphone from a headset and then analyzing the audio signal to convert it to a number that can be used to display a value. Any ideas on how to make this work?

I tried also like described in this article to set the browser.link.open_newwindow and browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction preferences but that doesn't bringt anything. And I tried it with all Target attributes which came in my mind. So I'm grateful for any hints, tips what ever this is driving me crazy...

  • Create table class as a singleton

    I got a class that I use as a table. This class got an array of 16 row classes. These row classes all have 6 double variables. The values of these rows are set once and never change. Would it be a good practice to make this table a singleton? The advantage is that it cost less memory, but the table will be called from multiple threads so I have to synchronize my code which way cause a bit slower application. However lookups in this table are probably a very small portion of the total code that is executed. EDIT: This is my code, are there better ways to do this or is this a good practice?   • Detect a tag in hook-script SVN

    Is there a way that I can detect a tag/branch in SVN? Could I find out where the commits destination is? I want to check that all externals are set to a specific version of the folder they are pointing to, I don't want to prevent commits to a tag with this script. I am writing the script with the c-pyhton bindings.
