  • How can fill a variable of my own created data type within Oracle PL/SQL?

    In Oracle I've created a data type: TABLE of VARCHAR2(200) I want to have a variable of this type within a Stored Procedure (defined locally, not as an actual table in the DB) and fill it with data. Some online samples show how I'd use my type if it was filled and passed as a parameter to the stored procedure: SELECT column_value currVal FROM table(pMyPassedParameter) However what I want is to fill it during the PL/SQL code itself, with INSERT statements. Anyone knows the syntax of this?

  • Display Spry results in Jquery modal dialog

    I am using Spry to retrieve data from a SOAP webservice (received as XML). I want to display these results in modal Dialog using the jquery dialog plugin. I have an almost working solution, but the dialog shows the spry placeholders (i.e. the fieldnames surrounded by {}), not the actual retrieved data. Any ideas how I might achieve what I want?

    I have two tables in sqlite: CREATE TABLE fruit ('fid' integer, 'name' text); CREATE TABLE basket ('fid1' integer, 'fid2' integer, 'c1' integer, 'c2' integer); basket is supposed to have count c1 of fruit fid1 and c2 of fruit fid2 I created a view fruitbasket; create view fruitbasket as select * from basket inner join fruit a on a.fid=basket.fid1 inner join fruit b on b.fid=basket.fid2; it works (almost) as expected. When I type pragma table_info(fruitbasket); I get the following output 0|fid1|integer|0||0 1|fid2|integer|0||0 2|c1|integer|0||0 3|c2|integer|0||0 4|fid|integer|0||0 5|name|text|0||0 6|fid:1|integer|0||0 7|name:1|text|0||0 The problem is that I cannot seem to SELECT name:1. How can I do it other than going back and re-aliasing the columns?

  • How to enable/create elements on the fly

    Hi all I am using a combination of PHP, jQuery and Spry to serve a series of listboxes in which a user will select first the type of vehicle, then the make, then the model and finally the specific model. All my listboxes (SELECT) are working fine, and they update properly using the Spry elements. Each listbox is populated from a different Spry XML Dataset, and this is my problem. If I present all four listboxes to the user, the script has to go and fetch all four lots of XML to populate all four listboxes, taking several seconds. What I want to do is to create/enable the listboxes in order, so at the user selects from the first listbox, the second is created/enabled, when they select from the second, the third is created/enabled... and so on. Setting the disabled attribute is no good because the script has already fetched the XML before this is processed. Any ideas?? Si

  • Loading non-RJS javascript via ajax in Rails

    I've written a rails module that generates some javascript for a google map. As the user makes changes on the webpage, I use observe_field to call back to the server to regenerate the map's javascript (without updating the whole page). I'm having trouble finding a good way to insert the new javascript into the page. I've tried <div id='my_div_1'>div1</div> <%= update_page_tag do |page| page.replace_html 'my_div_1', "<script>alert('hi');</script>" end %> but it seems that replace_html only works for non-script html. It chokes when the content includes the closing < /script tag.   • Write permission for a specific folder in web.config

    My question is preaty simple. Is there any way to give current user (IIS User, in this case, ASP NET USER) permission to write to a specific folder location (folder inside our web application) using web.config? Because, it's getting boring to ask to the web hoster to gain access to a specific folder each time we want to do a file uploader on a website. I know it's maybe preaty simple to find an answer using google, but it keeps returning me how to write INTO web.config instead of permission to write into web.config FOR a specific folder. In addition, I'm french so my english is not at the top.

    What is the worst real-world macros/pre-processor abuse you've ever come across (please no contrived IOCCC answers *haha*)? Please add a short snippet or story if it is really entertaining. The goal is to teach something instead of always telling people "never use macros". p.s.: I've used macros before... but usually I get rid of them eventually when I have a "real" solution (even if the real solution is inlined so it becomes similar to a macro). Bonus: Give an example where the macro was really was better than a not-macro solution. Related question: When are C++ macros beneficial?

  • What states does my route travel through?

    I've got a page that has a map with a starting and ending location. I run a route between them to get the nifty line showing the route. I'm currently using Bing but have attempted with Google as well. I'd like to know which states this route passes through so I can then overlay those states with specific information. Any suggestions on how to obtain this would be most appreciated. I'm using the AJAX SDK's for both Bing and Google. Handling all the local stuff with js/jquery.

  • Do I have to use Stored Procedures to get query level security or can I still do this with Dynamic S

    I'm developing an application where I'm concerned about locking down access to the database. I know I can develop stored procedures (and with proper parameter checking) limit a database user to an exact set of queries to execute. It's imperative that no other queries other then the ones I created in the stored procedures be allowed to execute under that user. Ideally even if a hacker gained access to the database connection (which only accepts connections from certain computers) they would only be able to execute the predefined stored procedures. Must I choose stored procedures for this or can I use Dynamic Sql with these fine grain permissions?

  • Focus-dependent text change for TextBoxes in WPF

    Hey there. I'm writing an application in WPF using the MVVM-pattern and will really often use TextBoxes. I don't want to use labels for the user to know user what the text box is for, i.e. I don't want something like this: <TextBlock> Name: </TextBlock> <TextBox /> Instead, I would like the TextBox to contain its own label. Statically, you would express it like this: <TextBox>Name</TextBox> If the cursor is displayed in the textbox, i.e. the TextBox gains focus, I want the description text to disappear. If the TextBox is left empty and it loses the focus, the description text should be shown again. It's similar to the search textbox of StackOverflow or the one of Firefox. (please tell me if your not sure what I mean). One TextBox's label may change at runtime, dependending on e.g. a ComboBox's selected element or a value in my ViewModel. (It's like in Firefox's search TextBox, if you select google from the search engins' menu, the TextBox's label changes to "Google", if you select "Yahoo" its set to "Yahoo"). Thus I want to be able to bind the label's content. Consider that I may already have a Binding on the Text-Property of the TextBox. How can implement such a behaviour and make it reusable for any of my TextBox's? Code is welcome but not needed; a description of what to do is enough. Thank you in advance.

  • camera picturecallback intent not work

    After I take the photo, the program automatically goes back like onBackPressed(). When I remove the putExtra, the intent runs. When I put startActivity() after takePicture(), it transfers null data.... I just want to put the image data to another activity to have other use.   • Replace Components.classesByID with document.implementation.createDocument

    I am not the author of this code, but it is no longer maintained. So I am trying to fix it, but I have very little experience in javascript. Since Firefox 9, Components.classesByID["{3a9cd622-264d-11d4-ba06-0060b0fc76dd}"]. has been obsolete. Instead, it is suggested that document.implementation.createDocument be used. Can someone here show me how to implement these changes? I seem to be, just banging my head with everything I have tried.   • Date range/query problem..

    Am hoping someone can help me out a bit with date ranges... I have a table with 3 fields id, datestart, dateend I need to query this to find out if a pair of dates from a form are conflicting i.e table entry 1, 2010-12-01, 2010-12-09 from the form 2010-12-08, 20-12-15 select id from date_table where '2010-12-02' between datestart and dateend; That returns me the id that I want, but what I would like to do is to take the date range from the form and do a query similar to what I have got that will take both form dates 2010-12-08, 20-12-15 and query the db to ensure that there is no conflicting date ranges in the table. Am sat scratching my head with the problem... TIA

  • How do I implement a collection in Scala 2.8?

    In trying to write an API I'm struggling with Scala's collections in 2.8(.0-beta1). Basically what I need is to write something that: adds functionality to immutable sets of a certain type where all methods like filter and map return a collection of the same type without having to override everything (which is why I went for 2.8 in the first place) where all collections you gain through those methods are constructed with the same parameters the original collection had (similar to how SortedSet hands through an ordering via implicits) which is still a trait in itself, independent of any set implementations. Additionally I want to define a default implementation, for example based on a HashSet. The companion object of the trait might use this default implementation. I'm not sure yet if I need the full power of builder factories to map my collection type to other collection types. I read the paper on the redesign of the collections API but it seems like things have changed a bit since then and I'm missing some details in there. I've also digged through the collections source code but I'm not sure it's very consistent yet. Ideally what I'd like to see is either a hands-on tutorial that tells me step-by-step just the bits that I need or an extensive description of all the details so I can judge myself which bits I need. I liked the chapter on object equality in "Programming in Scala". :-) But I appreciate any pointers to documentation or examples that help me understand the new collections design better.

  • Javascript error : " 'Sys' is undefined "

    Hi there, I keep having an error when running my web application. The error does not cause a compilation error when on live server at least a javascript error and nothing else. But the real problem is when "debug" ... javascript error stops the compilation and I have to "Continue" three times before proceeding normally my debug. But this error occurs at every refresh the page. All this using Visual Studio. After several hours of search on google, I saw that it was a problem with the ScriptManager and Ajax. The real problem is that I do not use any Ajax on this page but the ScriptManager is on the masterpage. Worse still, on any other page on the website, that may use Ajax or not, no javascript error! Only THIS page cause this error! Any suggestion? Note that I usualy talk french so there's probably error and sorry for this! EDIT There's the 3 places were compilation stop. 1. Properties are meant to be used like fields, meaning that properties should not be computationally complex or produce side effects I was asking myself how you could express this difference in Java, where you only use getters for the retrieval of data.
