  • Replace <Unknown Source> in Java Rhino (JSR223) with actual file name

    Hello everyone, In my code, all of the scripts are contained in .js files. Whenever one of the scripts contains an error, I get this: javax.script.ScriptException: sun.org.mozilla.javascript.internal.EcmaError: ReferenceError: "nonexistant" is not defined. (<Unknown source>#5) in <Unknown source> at line number 5 What bugs me is the <Unknown Source>. Multiple files are in one ScriptContext, and it can be hard to track down an error. It also looks horrible. Is there a way to replace <Unknown Source> with the actual file name? None of the methods I see support passing a File object, so I'm really confused here.

    I am performing actions on the page during WatiN tests. What is the neatest method for asserting certain elements are where they should be by evaluating the HTML source? I am scraping the source but looking for a clean way to navigate the tags pulled back. UPDATE: Right now I am thinking about grabbing certain elements within HTML source using regular expressions and then analysing that to see if other elements exist within. Other thoughts appreciated.

  • Is it unusual for a small company (15 developers) not to use managed source/version control?

    It's not really a technical question, but there are several other questions here about source control and best practice. The company I work for (which will remain anonymous) uses a network share to host its source code and released code. It's the responsibility of the developer or manager to manually move source code to the correct folder depending on whether it's been released and what version it is and stuff. We have various spreadsheets dotted around where we record file names and versions and what's changed, and some teams also put details of different versions at the top of each file. Each team (2-3 teams) seems to do this differently within the company. As you can imagine, it's an organised mess - organised, because the "right people" know where their stuff is, but a mess because it's all different and it relies on people remembering what to do at any one time. One good thing is that everything is backed up on a nightly basis and kept indefinitely, so if mistakes are made, snapshots can be recovered. I've been trying to push for some kind of managed source control for a while, but I can't seem to get enough support for it within the company. My main arguments are: We're currently vulnerable; at any point someone could forget to do one of the many release actions we have to do, which could mean whole versions are not stored correctly. It could take hours or even days to piece a version back together if necessary We're developing new features along with bug fixes, and often have to delay the release of one or the other because some work has not been completed yet. We also have to force customers to take versions that include new features even if they just want a bug fix, because there's only really one version we're all working on We're experiencing problems with Visual Studio because multiple developers are using the same projects at the same time (not the same files, but it's still causing problems) There are only 15 developers, but we all do stuff differently; wouldn't it be better to have a standard company-wide approach we all have to follow? My questions are: Is it normal for a group of this size not to have source control? I have so far been given only vague reasons for not having source control - what reasons would you suggest could be valid for not implementing source control, given the information above? Are there any more reasons for source control that I could add to my arsenal? I'm asking mainly to get a feel for why I have had so much resistance, so please answer honestly. I'll give the answer to the person I believe has taken the most balanced approach and has answered all three questions. Thanks in advance

    I'm trying to create a custom SNMP datasource for Cacti but despite everything I can check being correct, it is not creating the rrd file, or updating it even when I create it. Other, standard SNMP sources are working correctly so it's not SNMP or permissions that are the problem. I've also set up data templates and graph templates to display the data. The create graphs for a device screen shows the correct data, and when selecting one row can clicking create a new data source and graph are created. Unfortunately the data source is never updated. Increasing the poller log level shows that it appears to not even be querying the data source, despite it being used? What should my next steps to debug this issue be?

  • Nginx virtual server only partially working with Java application

    Final Cut Server is a Java application (made by Apple) which launches from a web page. I have Nginx in front of this web server (amongst others) and, whilst the web server can be browsed externally, the Java app fails to launch correctly and throws the errors below.   • Encoding in Scene Builder

    I generate an FXML file with Scene Builder. I need it to contain some cirillic text. When i edit this file with Scene Builder i can see normal cirillic letters (screen 1) After compileing and running my program with this FXML file, i'll see not cirillic letters, but some artefacts (screen 2) But, as you can see on the screen 3, its xml file encoding is UTF-8. Also, you can see there that it is saved in ANSI. I've tried to open it with other editors (default eclipse and sublime text 2) and they shoen wrong encoding either. (screen 4 and screen 5) At first i've tried to convert it from ansi to utf-8 (with notepad++). After that eclipse and sublime text 2 started display cirillic letters as they must be. But.     I'm setting up an SSO for Active Directory users through a website that runs on an Apache (Apache2 on SLES 11.1), and when testing with Firefox it all works fine. But when I try to open the website in Internet Explorer 8 (Windows 7), all I get is "Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.     I have tried to install php5 from source , and it worked... Then for some reason need to install the official packets, so i tried a make uninstall and for my surprise there is such make uninstall... so i tried delete all the installed files by hand.     With the latest javascript vulnerabilities in Adobe reader and bloat it has aquired over the years, I've been thinking of moving the network I'm in charge of to a different product for PDF reading on Windows. The ideal PDF reader should be something that is: Small in size (Adobe reader is more than 200MB these days after installation). As secure by default as possible (For example, javascript disabled by default). Nice looking and easy to use interface. Not bloated with features (I just want to read PDFs, that's it). Does not install any toolbars/unwanted add ons/spyware. Does not display any ads while viewing PDFs. Preferably Open Source. (this pretty much ensures no ads). Full Unicode support. Idealy , something like evince from gnome, will be the best option, but unfortunately that's not available on Windows. Foxit is an option, as it is small, and has a nice interface. But it still has javascript enabled by default which might lead to vulnerabilities - and it installs a toolbar , and displays ads while reading PDFs which is distracting. There is a site dedicated to Open Source PDF readers, pdfreaders.org, however, the Windows pdf readers each have their problems, mostly the interface is not as convenient (as evince, adobe or foxit). Here's a list of all PDF software from WikiPedia. There's a "Viewers" section for each OS. What Windows PDF reader would you recommend ?

  • vCenter 5.1 SSO Configuration option not available in Web Client?

    Problem I just finished separately installing vCenter Server 5.1. I installed the components separately but on the same machine using a local SQL 2008 R2 DB (not SQL express). Everything appears to be working correctly with the exception of SSO. It doesn't find the AD server. This is to be expected (see below) but I don't know how to fix it. Potential Leads / Steps taken During the install of SSO, I was logged on as a local administrator (waiting on central IT dept to create a service account). As a result, I received a message saying that SSO wouldn't be able to automatically locate the AD. (fair eonugh) After I read up on it a little bit, I believed I could go into the SSO Configuration option in the Web client, like so: However, what I actually see is: I also notice that the "SSO Users and Groups" entry is not there. Betting that has something to do with it as well. Question How can I get the "Configure" Option to show up for SSO? Overall goal: How can I manually enter the AD server in this scenario while logged in as a local administrator?   • how to authenticate once for multiple servers, using only apache configs?

    My problem is, I have a number of prepackaged web apps (a print system, a wiki, a bug tracker, an email archive, etc.) running on different Mac OS X Leopard (soon to be SL) servers that each need to authenticate users from the internet at large. Right now every server presents an Apache basic authentication prompt, which takes a shared login, but it's apparently enough of an inconvenience to log in repeatedly that people are sending email without checking the wiki or bug tracker or archive. In the case of the bug tracker, a user [might need to log in twice---once for apache if he hasn't used any other protected service on that server, once for the bug tracker itself so it can distinguish different people. Since the only common component to all these apps is Apache 2 itself, does it have any way of authenticating a user once, in some way that will be respected by other servers and various web apps? Looked at http://serverfault.com/questions/32421/how-is-session-stickiness-achieved-across-multiple-web-servers but it sounds like the answer is assuming that I get to write my own web app. Looked at Ian Bicking's blog but it's four years old and recommends something available only for apache 1.3, not apache 2. Sorry not to hyperlink the second site---apparently I need 10 reputation points. Edit: Shibboleth does what I need, but I should have specified that I'm looking for a really dumb, really simple solution for in-house services that need to handle all of a dozen users, probably not more than three at a time.
