  • Loading user control dynamically looses data

    I have a created a user control. This user control I dynamically load on a page inside Telerik Panelbar control. I have done all necessary coding to save the viewstate and load this dynamically created usercontrol every time page loads. On this User control I have a asp panel. By default this panel is invisible. When user clicks a button on this user control panel is made visible. On page load of this user control I populate all the controls on this panel. Everything works fine if I don’t load this use control dynamically but when I load this user control dynamically and if I make panel visible by default then only all fields on the panel are populated. But if I make by default invisible and on button click make panel visible none of the text boxes or comboboxes are populated. I populate comboboxes on page load of the userControl but inbetween postbacks all the comboboxes on the user control loose data. It certainly loads the right amount of items as it says in the lower bar on safari but I see three small calendars and that is it. Can anyone see where I have made a mistake?

  • Loading child entities with JPA on Google App Engine

    I am not able to get child entities to load once they are persisted on Google App Engine. I am certain that they are saving because I can see them in the datastore. For example if I have the following two entities. public class Parent implements Serializable{ @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY) @Extension(vendorName="datanucleus", key="gae.encoded-pk", value="true") private String key; @OneToMany(cascade=CascadeType.ALL) private List<Child> children = new ArrayList<Child>(); //getters and setters } public class Child implements Serializable{ @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY) @Extension(vendorName="datanucleus", key="gae.encoded-pk", value="true") private String key; private String name; @ManyToOne private Parent parent; //getters and setters } I can save the parent and a child just fine using the following: Parent parent = new Parent(); Child child = new Child(); child.setName("Child Object"); parent.getChildren().add(child); em.persist(parent); However when I try to load the parent and then try to access the children (I know GAE lazy loads) I do not get the child records. //parent already successfully loaded parent.getChildren.size(); // this returns 0 I've looked at tutorial after tutorial and nothing has worked so far. I'm using version 1.3.3.1 of the SDK. I've seen the problem mentioned on various blogs and even the App Engine forums but the answer is always JDO related. Am I doing something wrong or has anyone else had this problem and solved it for JPA?

  • Stop NSXMLParser Instance from Causing _NSAutoreleaseNoPool

    Hi Everyone: In my iPhone application, I have an instance of NSXMLParser that is set to a custom delegate to read the XML. This is then moved into its own thread so it can update the data in the background. However, ever since I have done this, it has been giving me a lot of _NSAutoreleaseNoPool warnings in the console. I have tried to add a NSAutoreleasePool to each of my delegate classes, however, this hasn't seemed to solve the problem. I have included my method of creating the NSXMLParser in case that is at fault. NSURL *url = [[NSURL alloc] initWithString:@"http://www.mywebsite.com/xmlsource.xml"]; NSXMLParser *xmlParser = [[NSXMLParser alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:url]; CustomXMLParser *parser = [[CustomXMLParser alloc] init]; parser.managedObjectContext = self.managedObjectContext; parser = [parser initXMLParser]; [xmlParser setDelegate:parser]; [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(parse) toTarget:xmlParser withObject:nil]; If anyone has any ideas to get rid of this problem, I would really appreciate it.     Hi, I'm doing a Facebook App where I'd like to pull out all the possible images from a user's album.     I want to understand how hibernate execute hql query internally or in other models how hql query engine works. Please suggest some good links for same? One of reason for reading is following problem. Class Branch { //lazy loaded @joincolumn(name="company_id") Company company; } Since company is heavy object so it is lazy loaded. now i have hql query "from Branch as branch where branch.Company.id=:companyId" my concern is that if for firing above query, hql engine has to retrieve company object then its a performance hit and i would prefer to add one more property in Branch class i.e. companyId. So in this case hql query would be "from Branch as branch where branch.companyId=:companyId" If hql engine first generate sql from hql followed by firing of sql query itself, then there should be no performance issue. Please let me know if problem is not understandable.

  • Tracking down slow managed DLL loading

    I am faced with the following issue and at this point I feel like I'm severely lacking some sort of tool, I just don't know what that tool is, or what exactly it should be doing. Here is the setup: I have a 3rd party DLL that has to be registered in GAC. This all works fine and good on pretty much every machine our software was deployed on before. But now we got 2 machines, seemingly identical to the ones we know work (they are cloned from the same image and stuffed with the same hardware, so pretty much the only difference is software settings, over which I went over and over, and they seem fine). Now the problem, the DLL in GAC takes a very long time to load. At least I believe this is the issue, what I can say definitively is that instantiating a single class from that DLL is the slow part. Once it is loaded, thing fly as they always have. But while on known-good machines the DLL loads so fast that a timestamp in the log doesn't even change, on these 2 machines it take over 1min to load. Knowns: I have no access to the source, so I can't debug through the DLL. Our app is the only one that uses it (so shouldn't be simultaneous access issues). There is only one version of this DLL in existance, so it shouldn't be a matter of version conflict. The GAC reference is being used (if I uninstall the DLL from GAC, an exception will be thrown about the missing GAC reference). Could someone with a greater skill in debug-fu suggest what I can do to track down the root cause of this issue?

  • Loading UINavigationController subclass from a Nib

    My situation is as follows: My class SettingsViewController is a subclass of UINavigationController. That class contains the logic of its rootViewController. For example, it acts as the delegate and data source for two table views in that root view controller. I have no problem setting this up programmatically. In the initializer of SettingsViewController, I can create an additional UIViewController to serve as the root view controller, position the table views in its view, and set their delegates and data sources to self. But I want to load that root view via a Nib. The problem is, I do not know how to connect that Nib with my SettingsViewController, how to set the delegates and data sources. The SettingsViewController is not accessible from within the Nib. 'File Owner' represents the root view controller, not the SettingsViewController. How do I access my UINavigationController subclass from within my root view controllers Nib? Thanks in advance.

  • Dynamically loading modules in Python (+ threading question)

    I am writing a Python package which reads the list of modules (along with ancillary data) from a configuration file. I then want to iterate through each of the dynamically loaded modules and invoke a do_work() function in it which will spawn a new thread, so that the code runs in a separate thread. At the moment, I am importing the list of all known modules at the beginning of my main script - this is a nasty hack I feel, and is not very flexible, as well as being a maintenance pain. This is the function that spawns the threads. I will like to modify it to dynamically load the module when it is encountered. The key in the dictionary is the name of the module containing the code: def do_work(work_info): for (worker, dataset) in work_info.items(): #import the module defined by variable worker here... t = threading.Thread(target=worker.do_work, args=[dataset]) # I'll NOT dameonize since spawned children need to clean up on shutdown # Since the threads will be holding resources #t.daemon = True t.start() Question 1 When I call the function in my script (as written above), I get the following error: AttributeError: 'str' object has no attribute 'do_work' Which makes sense, since the dictionary key is a string (name of the module to be imported). When I add the statement: import worker before spawning the thread, I get the error: ImportError: No module named worker This is strange, since the variable name rather than the value it holds are being used - when I print the variable, I get the value (as I expect) whats going on? Question 2 As I mentioned in the comments section, I realize that the do_work() function written in the spawned children needs to cleanup after itself. My understanding is to write a clean_up function that is called when do_work() has completed successfully, or an unhandled exception is caught - is there anything more I need to do to ensure resources don't leak or leave the OS in an unstable state? Question 3 If I comment out the t.daemon flag statement, will the code stil run ASYNCHRONOUSLY?. The work carried out by the spawned children are pretty intensive, and I don't want to have to be waiting for one child to finish before spawning another child. BTW, I am aware that threading in Python is in reality, a kind of time sharing/slicing - thats ok Lastly is there a better (more Pythonic) way of doing what I'm trying to do?

    Hi! I have a problem about release build I'm using Visual Studio 2005. The project is worked on MFC When I build the project what I working in debug mode, It builds done successfully. but in release mode, Output window shows next 1Compiling resources... 1Linking... 1Generating code and then.. it doesn't pass. It seems like be stoped. After 20 min ,I just canceld build. It has been built well before. I just added some files(.h .cpp) and resorces(.bmp), not special code and it happened. Do you have any idea about that? please help me

    I am trying to simply load a dll written in C# at run time and create an instance of a class in that dll. Assembly a = Assembly.LoadFrom(@"C:\Development\DaDll.dll"); Type type = a.GetType("FileReleaseHandler", true); TestInterface.INeeedHelp handler = Activator.CreateInstance(type) as TestInterface.INeeedHelp; No errors are thrown, and if I step through the code I can walk though the FileReleaseHandler Class as it executes the constructor but the value of handler is always null. What am I missing here? or even is there a better way I should be going about this?
