    I am currently investigating replacing the tabs provided by a Struts 1 tag library with the tabs provided by jQuery UI. I have successfully managed to get the tabs integrated with the existing application but I am struggling on how to set the selected tab using a parameter on the incoming URL i.e. myurl.com/action.do?selectedTab=SecondTab As a new comer to javascript and jQuery, I was wondering could give me some pointers on where to start?   • is there anyway to clear the content before loading ajax tab in jquery ui

    jquery ui tabs supports loading content through ajax here but if i have already loaded previous content and i click on it again, it stays on the old content until the new content is fully loaded is there anyway to clear the content right when you click the tab so its clear that a new set of content is loading. I see there is a load event but this fires after the new content is loaded. i need a beforeload event or something like that any suggestions?

    I was always using the direct Add to Page Tab URL like this: http://www.facebook.com/dialog/pagetab?app_id=238557109577754&redirect_uri=http://www.facebook.com And today that URL gives me "Sorry, something went wrong.". Did something changed on Facebook side? Or is it a temporary bug? Note that I have tried other redirect_uri params, such as the URL of the location where the app is hosted. It does always result in the same error.

    Hello, all. I have tricky problem which I can't completely understand... It's jquery tabs with cookie support. I've following code: $(document).ready(function() { var $tabs = $("#tabs").tabs(); $tabs.tabs('select', $.cookie("tabNumber")); $('#tabs ul li a').click(function() { $.cookie("tabNumber", $tabs.tabs('option', 'selected')); }); $('#btnSelect').click(function() { //alert($.cookie("tabNumber")); //$tabs.tabs('select', 2); $tabs.tabs('select', $.cookie("tabNumber")); }); }); So, I've 3 tabs (with positions 0,1,2) inside div named "tabs". When user selects one tab, then tab position stores in cookie. After that if user refresh page, active tab position must be restored. But each time I refresh page I get active tab in previous position (if I select 2nd tab, then after refresh I got active tab in position 1, etc.). I add some test in code (button btnSelect with onclick handler which duplicates load position functionality). So, if I uncomment and use $tabs.tabs('select', 2); Then after I click btnSelect I've got right position. Ok, that's right. Then I comment that line and uncomment next one: alert($.cookie("tabNumber")); So, I select tab, click button, get dialog message "2", and after that tab in position 1 became active. Why?? In both cases I call 'select' method with parameter 2... I know I can use aliases for tabs, but I want to understate why my code doesn't work properly.

  • What is the "un-tab" sequence in (g)Vim?

    This is an annoyance I've had for a long time. (Nitpicky section: I prefer 4 space characters to tab characters. It's a lot easier to type "tab" instead of explaining that. When I say "tab", I mean "the action that happens when you press the tab key" which is probably more simply stated as "increase indentation".) I'm using smartindent while editing a document where indentation has some significance. In "dumb" windows text editors I can press Shift+Tab to remove a tab or, more appropriately, decrease the indentation level of the current line. I can't figure out how to do this from edit mode in Vim; Shift+Tab seems to count just the same as Tab. I know in Command mode << will decrease indentation. I want the equivalent in edit mode. These are the solutions I've found so far and why I don't like them, one in particular may be the key to the answer. Use Notepad++ or some other dumb editor. I've done this for a couple of years but I really miss Vim. Exit edit mode, use <<, enter edit mode. This just puts the cursor at column 0; if I wanted this I wouldn't have tried smartindent. Stop using smartindent. I don't decrease indent as often as I need to keep the same indent level; this would be a loss of productivity. The left arrow key seems to decrease the indent by one level. I'd rather something I can do without leaving the home row. This is the most promising choice. Maybe there's an option I can set? Maybe I can rebind left arrow to something? (If it requires rebinding please explain in detail; I've never delved into reconfiguring (g)Vim.

    Okay, I've been programming in Java for about ten years, but am entirely new to LWJGL. I have a specific problem whilst attempting to create a text console. I have built a class meant to abstract input polling to it, which (in theory) captures key presses from the Keyboard object and appends them to a StringBuilder/StringBuffer, then retrieves the completed string after receiving the ENTER key. The problem is, after I trigger the String return (currently with ESCAPE), and attempt to print it to System.out, I consistently get a blank line. I can get an appropriate string length, and I can even sample a single character out of it and get complete accuracy, but it never prints the actual string. I could swear that LWJGL slipped some kind of thread-safety trick in while I wasn't looking.   • WPF TabControl - how to preserve control state within tab items (MVVM pattern)

    I am a newcomer to WPF, attempting to build a project that follows the recommendations of Josh Smith's excellent article describing The Model-View-ViewModel Design Pattern. Using Josh's sample code as a base, I have created a simple application that contains a number of "workspaces", each represented by a tab in a TabControl. In my application, a workspace is a document editor that allows a hierarchical document to be manipulated via a TreeView control. Although I have succeeded in opening multiple workspaces and viewing their document content in the bound TreeView control, I find that the TreeView "forgets" its state when switching between tabs. For example, if the TreeView in Tab1 is partially expanded, it will be shown as fully collapsed after switching to Tab2 and returning to Tab1. This behaviour appears to apply to all aspects of control state for all controls. After some experimentation, I have realized that I can preserve state within a TabItem by explicitly binding each control state property to a dedicated property on the underlying ViewModel. However, this seems like a lot of additional work, when I simply want all my controls to remember their state when switching between workspaces. I assume I am missing something simple, but I am not sure where to look for the answer. Any guidance would be much appreciated. However, since the data that underlies the TreeView is complex, I will post a simplified example that exhibits the same symtoms. For the simplicity of this example, I have removed the TreeView (mentioned above) from the DocumentView and replaced it with a TabControl containing 3 fixed tabs: <TabControl> <TabItem Header="A" /> <TabItem Header="B" /> <TabItem Header="C" /> </TabControl> In this scenario, there is no binding between the DocumentView and the DocumentViewModel. When the code is run, the inner TabControl is unable to remember its selection when the outer TabControl is switched.
