  • Delphi - Sharing violation opening text file

    - by Simes
    I'm trying to open a text file for reading in a Delphi 7 app, but am getting I/O error 32 (sharing violation) because another application already has the file open. I've tried setting FileMode to "fmOpenRead or fmShareDenyNone" but now realise this doesn't apply to text files anyway. Is there a way of reading text files that are open by another application? var f: TextFile; begin FileMode := fmOpenRead or fmShareDenyNone; // FileMode IS NOT APPLICABLE TO TEXT FILES!! AssignFile(f, FileName); Reset(f);

  • javascript to select text from web page

    - by phil swenson
    I'm trying to write a bookmarklet that grabs any selected text on a web page and sends it to my website. It should (hopefully) work in Chrome, FFX, Safari, and IE. I did a search and found a function, but it doesn't appear to work. Here is the code: <html> <body> <div onClick=getSelText()>Click</div> <div>please select me</div> </body> <script language=javascript> function getSelText(){ var txt = 'nothing'; if (window.getSelection){ txt = "1" + window.getSelection(); } else if (document.getSelection) { txt = "2" + document.getSelection(); } else if (document.selection) { txt = "3" + document.selection.createRange().text; } else return; alert("selected text = " + txt); } </script> </html> when I select the text in the div "please select me" and hit the click div, I just get "selected text = 1" thanks

  • Changing Pushpin Text Color

    - by Yawus
    I'm attempting to display data through the text of a Pushpin object. However, the text color defaults to white which is nigh-invisible when the backdrop is a road-style MapView. Looking through the API, paying especially close attention to PushpinOptions, I couldn't find anything that manipulated text color. Considering that this seems to a fairly basic feature, I'm a little confused as to why it doesn't exist or at least is really hard to find. Am I missing something or does Bing Maps for Android really not let you change the default text color for a Pushpin object?

  • Identifying individual values in a text box using Flash

    - by Jamash1989
    I want to identify specific strings in a text box from user input to add to a score variable, like so - if (userWords.text == firstWord) { score = score + 1; } The example given adds 1 to the score, but if a user adds a space then a second word the text box views it as a whole and not individual words, resulting in no values added to the score variable. The problem lies with the whole text box being viewed as one entire string. Instead, I want to split it up so word1 will add 1 to the score, word2 will add 1 to the score, etc. I am ultra confused with this problem, so thank you to anyone that may help.

  • fix needed for bug in TextField/Text

    - by Mark
    Sort of a complicated scenario - just curious if anyone else could come up with something: I have a Text control and when I scroll it and stop the scroll with the cursor over some text that has a url, the cursor doesn't revert to a hand, and also flash player starts acting as if a selection is being made from the last cursor position. So IOW a bonafide bug in flash as far as I can determine. The above probably wasn't completely clear so let me elaborate. If you grab a scrollbar thumb and start moving it up and down, you don't actually have to keep the mouse pointer on the thumb while doing so. When you stop the scroll, the mouse pointer could be outside the browser window, inside your flash application, but not currently on the scroll bar thumb, or wherever. The previously mentioned bug occurs when you stop the scroll with the mouse pointer positioned over text with an html anchor (a hyperlink). At that point the cursor enters into some state of limbo, and doesn't show the url hand pointer, and furthermore acts as if some text selection is taking place from the last cursor position prior to the scroll. So the question would be, what sort of event could I simulate in code to jolt flash out of this erroneous state it is in. And furthermore in what event could I perform this simulated event (given that for example there is no AS3 event to signal the end of a scroll.) To be clear, the Text control in question is on a canvas, and that canvas (call it A) is on another canvas which actually owns the scrollbar, and scrolling takes place by changing the scrollRect of canvas A.

  • Wrapping text around a figure in LaTeX

    - by manapo
    When I wrap my text around a figure I cannot get it to wrap around the correct text. Basically, I want to have the text in the section the figure is in wrap around it, but when I compile it my figure ends up being farther down the page next to text in another section. 1. How do I change this? 2. (kind of a minor point) How do I make the label for the caption, such as "Figure 1.", bold? \usepackage{graphicx} \usepackage{wrapfig} ... \begin{wrapfigure}{r}{40mm} \begin{center} \includegraphics[scale=0.5]{image} \end{center} \caption{This is the image.} \end{wrapfigure}

  • Gridview changing text in a button column

    - by Bob Avallone
    I am working in asp.net using the gridview control. I have a button column that I create dynamically as such: ButtonField bfSelect = new ButtonField(); bfSelect.HeaderText = "View"; bfSelect.ButtonType = ButtonType.Link; bfSelect.CommandName = "View"; bfSelect.Text = "View"; grdAttachments.Columns.Add(bfSelect); The text on the button is the same for every row. I was wondering if there was any way to have the text be different for different rows depending on a condition. When I try to look at the text property of a particular row it is blank, if I try to set it, it does not change. Thanks in advance. Bob

  • Reduce white space between lines of text

    - by user654466
    I am creating a webpage (first time) and i'm following as much of the CSS rules and tags as I can. However, I ran into a problem with white space. I've underlined the first line of text but now the second line seems to have drifted below. Is there a way to make it a bit more snug, i'd like the second line of text to be just below the above line. body,td,th { color: #000000; } body { margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-top: 6px; text-align: center; background-color: #FFFFFF; } #centered { width: 800px; /* set to desired width in px or percent */ text-align: left; /* optionally you could use "justified" */ border: 0px; /* Changing this value will add lines around the centered area */ padding: 0; margin: 0 auto; } .style3 { font-size: 32pt; color: #666666; margin-left: 0px; border-bottom: 3px double; } .style5 { margin-left: 390px; font-size: 32pt; color: #CCCCCC; } --> </style></head> <div id="centered"> <body> <p class="style3">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;FIRST LINE OF TEXT</p> <p class="style5">INDENTED SECOND LINE</p> </body> </div> </body> </html>

  • animated text-shadow

    - by user1026090
    I have some keywords in the header of my website. Every few second I want one of them to glow up with the CSS text-shadow property. However, JQuery animation doesn't seem to support the CSS text-shadow property very well. http://jsfiddle.net/VWBsU/: This is kind of the result that I want, but the glow has to fade in and out. http://jsfiddle.net/VWBsU/1/ With a more common CSS-property, like color, the animation works perfectly, the red color kind of fades in. http://jsfiddle.net/VWBsU/2/ But the CSS text-shadow property doesn't even appear when trying to animate it. Does anyone know how to fade in and fade out a text-shadow property?

  • converting compressed Rich text (C#)

    - by Code Smack
    Hello, I have a string with CompressedRichText in it. I want to uncompressed it to standard RTF and then to plain Text. I am using VS 2008 C# Windows Application. I found references to C++ code to do it, but nothing directly in C#. here is a sample of what I am thinking... not much code though... private string _CompressedRichText = "5A46751234E1234A3214C12D34213412346F4"; private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { //Convert to Uncompressed RTF richTextBox1.Text = //Some action //Convert to text textBox1.Text = //some action } This will at least give you an example of what I am thinking.

  • Trigger button click with JavaScript on Enter key in Text Box

    - by ziondreams
    I have one text input and one button (see below). How can I use JavaScript to trigger the button's click event when the Enter key is pressed inside the text box? There is already a different submit button on my current page, so I can't simply make the button a submit button. And, I only want the enter key to click this specific button if it is pressed from within this one text box, nothing else. <input type="text" id="txtSearch" /> <input type="button" id="btnSearch" value="Search" onclick="doSomething();" /> Update: I'd like to accept my own answer below, but since that is now allowed I will accept the next best solution.

  • CSS3 text-shadow effect with jQuery

    - by Marco
    Hello, I wanted to be able to create a effect identical to CSS3 text-shadow Property, making it available to browsers that doesn’t support this CSS3 Property (like IE 7 and 8). And so I found two plugins: Text Shadow and Drop Shadow Effect. I decided to use Text Shadow, because it was released in the end of 2008, and because it was more straightforward. This worked great for IE8. However in IE7 shadows have twice the distance to the text, and links are weird. IE8 image IE7 image I am searching for a fix, or an alternative to this problem.

  • Detect numbers and process them ?

    - by Madhup
    Hi, I am trying to detect the numbers written on a grid and then process them using the iPhone camera. What i have found till yet are some good examples like: http://blog.damiles.com/?p=93 http://cmgresearch.blogspot.com/2010/01/augmented-reality-on-iphone-how-to_01.html Although I am able to draw the numbers on the overlay view to a good extent but still not able to detect what these numbers are. What I don't wanna do is to go through the whole AI process: training the system, providing the system whole set of values and then process them, because this is so much troublesome for me as well for the performance of my application. So guys having any idea or work arround for this please help. Thanks, Madhup

  • C#: Label contains no text

    - by Vinzcent
    Hey I would like to get the text out of a label. But the label text is set with Javascript. On the page I can see that there is text in the label, but when I debug it shows this: "".
