  • What happened to the .NET version definition with v4.0?

    I'm building a C# class library, and using the beta 2 of Visual Web Developer/Visual C# 2010. I'm trying to save information about what version of .NET the library was built under. In the past, I was able to use this: // What version of .net was it built under? #if NET_1_0 public const string NETFrameworkVersion = ".NET 1.0"; #elif NET_1_1 public const string NETFrameworkVersion = ".NET 1.1"; #elif NET_2_0 public const string NETFrameworkVersion = ".NET 2.0"; #elif NET_3_5 public const string NETFrameworkVersion = ".NET 3.5"; #else public const string NETFrameworkVersion = ".NET version unknown"; #endif So I figured I could just add: #elif NET_4_0 public const string NETFrameworkVersion = ".NET 4.0"; Now, in Project-Properties, my target Framework is ".NET Framework 4". If I check: Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().ImageRuntimeVersion I can see my runtime version is v4.0.21006 (so I know I have .NET 4.0 installed on my CPU). I naturally expect to see that my NETFrameworkVersion variable holds ".NET 4.0". It does not. It holds ".NET version unknown". So my question is, why is NET_4_0 not defined? Did the naming convention change? Is there some simple other way to determine .NET framework build version in versions 3.5?

  • What VS Projecttype for Model and Database?

    Hello folks, i've just started a new asp.net project which could increase fastly(a small erp-system for our company). So i thought it would be a good idea to split at least the model from the view/controller(the asp.net project). Because it could be that i need to access some classes and the database from a windows app in future, i dicided to put the Model into its own Project. What Visual Studio 2005 Professional Projecttype is most suitable for this requirement and why?   • Selecting a radio button when a dropdown value changes

    My setup is something like this: radiobutton1 - selection1 radiobutton2 - selection2 textinput1 I want radiobutton1 to be selected whenever selection1 is changed, and I want radiobutton2 to be selected whenever either selection2 or textinput1 is changed. There has to be a simple javascript solution here... I just can't find it.   • jQuery hyperlinks - href value?

    Hi, On my website I use jQuery to hook the events of elements, namely hyperlinks. As these hyperlinks only perform actions on the current page, and do not lead anywhere, I have been putting a href attribute of "#" in: <a href="#">My Link</a> However in some browsers this causes the page to scroll right to top which is obviously undesirable behaviour. I've tried using a blank href value, or not including one, but then the mouse does not change to the hand cursor upon hovering. What should I put in there?

  • Consecutive Tables in Latex

    Hi, I wonder how to place several tables consecutively in Latex? The page with the text right before the first table has a little space but not enough for the first table, so the first table is to be placed on the top of the next page, although I use "\begin{table}[!h]" for it. The second table does not fit into the place in the rest of the page of the first table, so I think I might use longtable for it to span the rest of the page and the top of the next page. Similarly, I use longtable for the third table. The latex code is as follows: ... % some text \begin{table}[!h] \caption{Table 1. \label{tab:1}} \begin{center} \begin{tabular}{c c} ... \end{tabular} \end{center} \end{table} \begin{center} \begin{longtable}{ c c } \caption{Table 2. \label{tab:2}}\\ ... \end{longtable} \end{center} \begin{center} \begin{longtable}{ c c } \caption{Table 3. \label{tab:3}}\\ ... \end{longtable} \end{center} ... % some text In the compiled pdf file it turns out that the order of the tables is messed up. The first table is placed behind the second and third one, and the second one spans the page with text before the tables and the next page with the third one following it. I would like to know how I can make the three tables appear consecutively in order, and there are no space left blank between them and between the text and the tables? Or if what I hope is not possible, what is the best strategy then? Thanks and regards! EDIT: Removing [!h] does not make improvement, the first table is still behind the second and the third.

  • MySQL: Storage of multiple text fields for a record

    An inexperienced question: I need to store about 10 unknown-length text fields per record into a MySQL table. I expect no more than 50K rows in total for this table but speed is important. The database actions will be solely SELECTs for all practical purposes. I'm using InnoDB. In other words: id | text1 | text2 | text3 | .... | text10 As I understand that MySQL will store the text elsewhere and use its own indicators on the table itself, I'm wondering whether there's any fundamental performance implications that I should be worrying about given the way the data is stored? (i.e. several "sub-fetches" from the table). Thank you.

  • Importing a large delimited file to a MySQL table

    I have this large (and oddly formatted txt file) from the USDA's website. It is the NUT_DATA.txt file. But the problem is that it is almost 27mb! I was successful in importing the a few other smaller files, but my method was using file_get_contents which it makes sense why an error would be thrown if I try to snag 27+ mb of RAM. So how can I import this massive file to my MySQL DB without running into a timeout and RAM issue? I've tried just getting one line at a time from the file, but this ran into timeout issue. Using PHP 5.2.0. Here is the old script (the fields in the DB are just numbers because I could not figure out what number represented what nutrient, I found this data very poorly document.   • Palm webOS CSS Targeting Hack?

    Although it is not good practice, I am looking for a CSS hack to target Palm webOS. The problem is that Safari 3+ is awesome, and I can do some things like gradient background animations on text, but only in Safari. Right now I use @media screen and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio:0) {} and it works like a charm, no Opera, Firefox, or whatever, because if I set the background to the image as I do in Safari they will all be ruined. But Palm's browser is based on webkit, and it uses the rules inside, and Palm's browser doesn't support text backgrounds so all I get is the image moving, no text. I would prefer a CSS hack, but if need be a Javascript one will do.

  • Get entire text of document as a string using javascript

    I am developing a firefox extension and ideally would be able to get the whole darn DOM as a string.. forget any data structure. I just want what I see in "view source" in a buffer. I have been checking out javascript references and HTMLDocument etc. with no avail. Ideally I would be able to write to this buffer as well (seems possible i.e. document.writeLn()) I wish there was a document.read()? Am I just a js noob?

This looks like the problem described here, but I thought I would get an expert opinion before filing a bug against the project.

  • MS Access (2010) Enable Design View

    I downloaded the Access template below for doing a home inventory: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/results.aspx?qu=home%20inventory&ex=1&queryid=0d245f2a%2Dacdc%2D4161%2D92c8%2D8ba16a52ab32&AxInstalled=1&c=0#ai:TC101918100| The design view is not visible, which is a bit of a nuisance. Things I've tried: 1) In options/options/current database/ the check boxes (enable layout view & enable design changes for tables in Datasheet view) are both greyed out. 2) I've unblocked the file using Right-Click-Properties. 3) I've tried copying/exporting the objects to another database. But can only copy/export the tables. 4) I've tried holding shift when opening the DB. 5) Enabling all trust permissions etc. None of these work Does anybody have any suggestions. (I'm using Office 2010) Thanks

  • Start multiple processes of a dll in delphi

    I have a "ActiveX library" project created with Delphi 2007. The library interface return XML data based on input values. This is then used by a PHP script that displays the data on a web page. This works great! The problem is that i can only run one instance of the dll process on the server. However, for security reasons, each of my customer should be able to access their own process of the dll (because the dll is always connected to only one database). Also, because of the way the delphi code is built, it doesn't support multiple threads. (It's a 100 000+ lines project using lots of singleton classes) Is there a way of starting several instances of the same dll? Is there a better way of transferring XML data from delphi to PHP? Sorry for the longish question, any help is appreciated (ps. I know the delphi code should be refactored, but this would mean 6 months of "circular reference" -hell :)

    When using Sortable.create I can't seem to get the element that is being dragged. Does Sciptaculous not fully implement all Draggable and Droppable features when you use sortable? How do I only grab the one that is being dragged?

    I tried the solution from this thread, but I must be missing something because it doesn't work: <div style="float:left;margin-right:200px"> <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.</p> </div> <div style="float:right;width:200px"> <p>navigation</p> </div> It works when the text in the content div (the left one) is short, but when it's long then the div takes up the whole width of the browser and the margin is there, but the right div is pushed below the first one nevertheless. What am I missing? Edit: The goal is to have a fix sized navigation column on the right of the browser window and the left div should get all the space left by the right navigation column (liquid layout).
