  • Determining full XHR request URL on a Google Chrome XHR Breakpoint

    I am initiating a jQuery ajax ($.ajax) post, within the Google Chrome browser. I have setup a XHR breakpoint in the "XHR Breakpoints" section of the "Scripts" tab within the Developer Tools. The criteria of the breakpoint is "get" ie. I want the debugger to break on all XHR requests which contain the word "get" in them (somePage.asmx/getListOfAnimals) is an example. The breakpoint is being correctly hit, however I am unable to determine what the exact URL that is being requested. I realize I can remove the breakpoint and see what URL is being requested from the "Network" tab, but I want to know this at the time the breakpoint is hit. I have tried stepping through the XHR request once it has been hit in Chrome, but I must be missing a Javascript object/property which contains the fully requested URL. Google Chrome has detected that the XHR requested URL contains "get" but how do I get to this URL from within the debug session before the request is made?

    In my application , a HTTP GET request URL to the application with script tag is getting redisplayed as it is although it fails the authorization. Example: http://www.example.com/welcome<script>alert("hi")</script> The issue is sanitizing external input entered directly into address bar by modifying existing GET URL. Spring redisplays the submitted URL as it is. Though the script does not get executed in the browser(FF), is there anyway to strip the URL of these values before displaying it back to the user Reference: Spring MVC application filtering HTML in URL - Is this a security issue?

    For my Grails application I want to set up Google Analytics to track only "partial" url's. I 'll explain: a typical Grails url consists of the following parts: domain + application-name + controller + action + id e.g. www.mydomain.com/myapp/controller/action/12345 As far as I understand for Google Analytics the page to be tracked is identified by the entire url. For my purpose I'm not interested in the id part of the url: I want to know which actions have been performed, but I need not know for which id the action was executed. And of course I would like a generic solution, because I have multiple controllers and multiple actions... Maybe some kind of filter stating "I want to track pages 3 levels deep (/myapp/controller/action)" would do? Or a filter stating "exclude everything from url after the last /"?   • Changing the URL of an ExpressionEngine forum

    I've set up a forum on ExpressionEngine and customised the URL as I want a specific path to the forum. To do this I went to Modules Discussion Forum Forum Board Preferences and in the Forum URL put in my desired URL. Let's call it http://www.mywebsite.com/students/forum/ My homepage displays the latest 5 posts from the forum. It all works except for the URLs which don't go to this URL and instead point to http://www.mywebsite.com/forums/viewthread/xxx Is there an extra step I am missing here? Why doesn't the forum URL just update automatically when I save it?

This is what I have so far: I have written a javascript function (get_my_url) that returns a url, depending on the element id that was passed to the function.   • VC++ 2010 wants to link boost libararies i didn't even specify

    Hi there, I'm trying to build my application with MSVC 2010 instead of GCC. With GCC everything works fine. My app uses boost_system and boost_thread libraries. I built boost with VC2010 in "system" layout, that means the libraries are named just libboost_system.lib (and not libboost_system_compiler_threading_version_wtf_snafu.lib) The libs reside in C:\Boost\lib, the Makefile specifies LFLAGS = /NOLOGO /INCREMENTAL:NO /SUBSYSTEM:CONSOLE LIBS = /LIBPATH:C:/Boost/lib libboost_system.lib libboost_thread.lib Ws2_32.lib when invoking nmake it compiles, but when trying to link it quits with LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libboost_date_time-vc100-mt-1_43.lib I mean seriously, WTF? I told it to link libboost_systen.lib and libboost_thread.lib how come it tries to link libboost_data_time and why does it assume I built the libs in "tagged" layout?? How can I stop MSVC trying to be smart and guess what I might have wanted to link? Thanks, Philipp

    I have a problem with a link containing Chinese characters that is send to a javascript file in Internet Explorer. Generally that link is created by PHP and looks like this in IE: www.example.com/%E6%B7%AC%E7%81%AB%E6%B2%B9_ASIN5034CN.pdf In firefox it looks like this: www.example.com/???_ASIN5034CN.pdf Both work in that direct way. I need to pass that link to a javascript that popups on the page and it will be displayed after the user entered her/his contact information. This also works on firefox and other browsers but in IE that link is transfered to this which does not work anymore: www.example.com/æ·¬ç«æ²¹_ASIN5034CN.pdf I tried to do some encoding on it with encodeURIComponent but still no success. So the link is passed correctly to the javascript but it is totally screwed up only by IE. Thx for any advice on that problem.

    Hello, I have a link inside a label. The problem is, when user clicks 'back' after having read the terms, the checkbox is unchecked, because when they clicked on the link they also unchecked the box at the same time, since the link is inside a label. <input type="checkbox" id="terms" name="terms" checked="checked" /> <label for="terms">I agree to be bound by the <a href="/terms">Terms</a></label> How can I prevent the checkbox from being checked when link is clicked? Tried doing event.preventDefault() on label click, but that doesn't prevent checkbox from being checked/unchecked. I could just take out the link from inside a label (which means more CSS styling). But now I'm curious whether the above is possible.

So before echoing $pageURL I add the following line: $pageUrl = preg_replace("&type=main", "", $pageURL); But it still returns the full url including type=main. How can I get rid of that from the url?

    I have a sharepoint 2010 web application with 2 different zones, default zone with windows login (for search crawl), internet with Claims (FBA) for users to login. I have custom webparts that uses using (SPSite mySite = new SPSite(SPContext.Current.Site.ID)) using (SPWeb web = mySite.RootWeb) { string url = web.Url I use this url to include to emails etc... Problem is: when user connects to FBA (extended zone), and goes to the webpart,string url in my code returns the url of the default zone(windows auth) where user should not be touching. I have different host headers for these zones, any help would be very appreciated. Update: fixed it with using (SPSite newsite =new SPSite(SPContext.Current.Site.ID,SPContext.Current.Site.Zone)) using (SPWeb web = newsite.RootWeb) { //do your implementation here }

    Hi guys, I'm using ASP.NET MVC 1.0 and I try to create a personal blog! I have a problem with an url that it has to show all post wrote in a specific year and specific month. My url is look like(http://localhost:2282/Blog/Archive/2010/5). So... it work correctly, infact it show all record that have year=2010 and month=5 but my problem is that when I use this url, images in total my site are no longer loading. I have this problem only with this url's type. I think that the problem maybe is my maproute? routes.MapRoute( "ArchiveRoute", "Blog/Archive/{anno}/{mese}", new { controller = "Blog", Action = "Archive",anno = @"\d{4}", mese = @"\d{2}" } ); Why images don't loading with this url?     I am trying to extract the GET parameters from a ZF REST URL. It's not the current request and I don't want to call the URL or execute the route, I just need the parameters. I'm looking for a utility function like parse_url(), but for the Zend REST format. Is there one, or do I have to reinvent the wheel? I've tried a few things like creating a new Zend_Controller_Request_Http but the parameters aren't being populated. It is a valid HTTP URL. Edit: Upon request, a sample Zend URL: http://localhost/index/index/param1/foo/param2/bar So I am just trying to get param1 and param2 out of this URL.

    I want to create a link like this: <a href="http://example.com">text</a> and replace the behavior so that the link downloads the content with Ajax instead when clicking. It is important for me not to replace the href attribute (so copying the link still works). One solution would be to do: $('link').onclick = function() { return false; }; but I would like to use the .observe method. But this doesn't work: $('link').observe('click', function() { return false; }); (which is quite logical). Any ideas on how I could achieve this? Thanks.

After this URL is constructed, I'd like to open a new browser window for the user with this newly constructed URL. How can I actually accomplish this? Is this something that can only be done with javascript? If so... How? I already have the code in place and i've tested it works that construct the URL after posting the form, now it's just a matter of opening a new window with the URL.

    I'm working on a Django site with a basic three column design. Left column navigation, center column content and right column URL specific content blocks. My question is about the best method of controlling the URL specific content blocks in the right column. I am thinking of something along the lines of the Flatpages app that will make the content available to the template context if the URL matches a pre-determined pattern (perhaps regex?). Does anyone know if such an app already exists? If not, I am looking for some advice about the best way to implement it. Particularly in relation to the matching of patterns to the current URL. Is there any good way to re-use parts of the Django URL dispatcher for this use?

This is the sample output of firebug: http://mysite.com/mysite.com/forms/get_data.php With this url it now gives me: "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - http://mysite.com/mysite.com/forms/get_data.php" Shouldn't it output like http://mysite.com/forms/get_data.php ?     Hi, I've got a multi-part form (in a PHP MVC setup) which I have working correctly without javascript enhancement. I'm starting to add the AJAX form handling code which will handle each stage of a form submission, validating/saving data etc, before using AJAX to load the next stage of the form. I'm wondering how best to pass the URL of the next stage to the current form being processed, so that my jQuery form handling code can process the current form, then load the next part via AJAX. The form "action" is different from what the url of the next stage of the form is - what do you think would be good practice here? I was thinking about either appending the url of the next stage to the form action url, via a query string - then just use javascript to extract this url when the form is successfully processed. The other option is via a hidden form element. Not sure what other client side options I have here Any thoughts?

    I have a table of information that includes a username, an ip address, and a timestamp. What I wanted to do was to have the ip address contained within a link object that when the link is clicked it utilizes bgp.he.net to get information about the host/IP address. I have tried creating threads to resolve the IP addresses but it is often a large amount of IP addresses and I read that InetAddress#getByName isn't non-blocking, so I figured having links that go to this site is the next best thing. Question is: Is it possible to have links for each of my IP addresses in the table without creating a new link object for each row? I don't know how bad that would be on memory usage which is why I'm inquiring about cloning an instance of an IP and having the link open bgp.he.net/link.getText()

I'm writing a chrome extension and this should get the current tab's url and set the html of #current-tab to the url (for testing purposes).
