I've done some googling and found templates for software design at high and low level. The problem is that all of the templates seem to be geared towards a complete system design as opposed to individual components and are consequently overkill.     The constant 0 is used as the null pointer in C and C++. But as in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2389251/pointer-to-a-specific-fixed-address there seems to be some possible use of assigning fixed addresses. Is there ever any conceivable need, in any system, for whatever low level task, for accessing the address 0? If there is, how is that solved with 0 being the null pointer and all? If not, what makes it certain that there is not such a need?

This probably grew from learning to type at an early age, before home-row was presented to me. Is this acceptable? Do people religiously endorse home-row even with low-mistake poking without looking at the keyboard?

    Hello, recently I've been trying to debug some low level work and I could not find the crt0.S for the compiler(avr-gcc) but I did find a crt1.S (and the same with the corresponding .o files) What is the difference between these two files? Is crt1 something completely different or what? They both seem to have to do with something for bootstrapping(setting up stack frame and such), but why the distinction?

    I have put together a Skin for OpenHome but have since ran across AHome code for their IPhone theme and was wondering that if I included for AHome their Dock_Bg or widget_drawer among other things which is not on OpenHome that the Launcher for the respective screen replacement would just call the items it uses.I want to keep the mb as low as I can but reach more handsets.I can just make seperate ones but see many that include even Freshface as well as OpenHome and AHome.

  • Completely Removing Views from memory

    I have a view which is set up to train 'voiceprints' of words (this voiceprint code is not mine), and another view which has a slideshow which is controlled by the voiceprint. Unfortunately, these views conflict because they are still in memory. As far as I know, viewDidUnload and dealloc are only called in low-memory situations, and dealloc should not be called directly, so how do I completely remove a view. These views are within uinavigationcontrollers by the way.

    hi, I have a sequence of couples of elements. (.div1, .div2) I'm using position:relative attribute on .div2 to move it a bit on top and right with respect to div1. However .div1 elements have different content and heights, so the relative positioning of .div2 is not consistent (they sometimes are too high, sometimes too low). .div2 { position:relative; left:200px; top:-300; } thanks
