  Hi, I am trying to use GetDiskFreeSpaceEx in wince5.0 emulator. This is the following code I have written. Am I missing something or in emulator is that OK?

  Im sure if the title is exactly what I am trying to describe so sorry if it isnt. Ok here is what i am trying to do: What i want to do is create a function that you can enter unlimited ammount of coordinates ( the blue dots) and then it will create a shape like so and then return all coordinates the shape covers. Because this is for working with pixels, there will be no decimal coordinates. Something that can be used like so: print_r(get_coords(12,6, 23,13, 30,9, 37,24, 24,34, 25,24, 7,30, 6,15)); // ^ Will output an array of all x and y coordinates that the shape covers How would i go about doing something like this?

• How can I remove my last commit in my local git repository

  Hi, This is the output of my 'git log'. But when I do a 'git pull' , the top commit causes conflict. So I did a 'git rebase -abort' commit 7826b25db424b95bae9105027edb7dcbf94d6e65 commit 5d1970105e8fd2c7b30c232661b93f1bcd00bc96 But my question is Can I 'save' my commit to a patch and then do a git pull? Just like I want to emulate * I did not do a git commit, but I did a 'git stash' instead * Do a git pull so that I should not get any merge error So I need to somehow 'turn back the clock'. Is that possible in git?

  Is there a specification on how the FILE macro will be expanded if it is in a .h? So if I #define MYFILE __FILE__ in foo.h and foo.c #includes "foo.h" void main(){ printf("%s",MYFILE); .... does this output foo.h or foo.c? (Yes I realize this is a stupid example) Sorry for what should be a simple question. The documentation on the web seems conflicting. For what it is worth VS2008 comes back as foo.c which is what I would expect....I think. I am just trying to confirm if this is defined behavior.

• Running an app that requires an administrator account from a service

  Is it possible to run handle.exe (from sysinternals) from a service (in windows7) without having to turn off UAC? The service is a custom c-app that needs to find out which process is locking a file it tries to access and handle.exe seems to be a good way to solve it but i can't get it to work with UAC turned on. This app runs all the time so i can't have a UAC prompt while its running but its fine if it shows up at startup. Handle.exe works fine from an admin commandprompt but fails when trying to run from a normal prompt. I call handle.exe from CreateProcess() and get the output from pipes. I guess there should be a way to solve this but i can't figure it out. Setting up the service to log in from an admin account does not seem to work.

• Call an external web service from a servlet

  Hi, I'm developing a servlet that gets a name of a web service and could be forward the request to an external web service, for example: "http://www.webservice.com/..." I have build a response wrapper that intercept response output but I can't forward request to an external web service, it works only if I redirect the request to a servlet that is on same server. Example: request.getRequestDispatcher("aMyServlet").forward(request, response) IT WORKS request.getRequestDispatcher("http://www.webservice.com/...").forward(request, response) IT DON'T WORKS because Tomcat search "http://www.webservice.com/..." on the server as a local resource. How can I do external request? Thanks

• Convert hex to decimal keeping fractional part in Lua

  Lua's tonumber function is nice but can only convert unsigned integers unless they are base 10. I have a situation where I have numbers like 01.4C that I would like to convert to decimal.   Hey All, I was wondering how i could output the results from my jQuery to a hidden form field so i can then shove it into the database. • Django: do I need to do HttpResponseRedirect to render a simple string after a POST?

  I've got a mobile app that makes POST requests to a Django site. I want to return a simple string (not a template-based page) after the app makes the POST request, saying 'Success' or 'Failure' as appropriate. However I know that after a POST request in Django you're supposed to do a HttpResponseRedirect. But, do I really need to redirect to another page and write a new function to handle it, all to output a string? And if so, how do I pass the success/failure status of the app in the HttpResponseRedirect, since it's only supposed to take one argument? Thanks!

  I've got an unusual build error when using Buildroot to create an image for my Phidget SBC. It's unusual because it occurs ONLY on my development laptop and NOT on my general use laptop even though I am using EXACTLY the same Builroot environment as published by Phidgets themselves. • Transform shape built of contour splines to simple polygons

  I've dumped glyphs from truetype file so I can play with them. They have shape contours that consist from quadratic bezier curves and lines. I want to output triangles for such shapes so I can visualize them for the user. Traditionally I might use libfreetype or scan-rasterise this kind of contours. But I want to produce extruded 3D meshes from the fonts and make other distortions with them. So, how to polygonise shapes consisting from quadratic bezier curves and lines? There's many contours that form the shape together. Some contours are additive and others are subtractive. The contours are never open. They form a loop. (Actually, I get only contour vertices from ttf glyphs, those vertices define whether they are part of the curve or not. Even though it is easy to decompose these into bezier curves and lines, knowing the data is represented this way may be helpful for polygonizing the contours to triangles)

  This concept has been brought to my attention before, but many people might know it from this popular comic here, where he uses stones instead of points on a paper. This concept is so abstract to me. A full-functioning computer that can manage algorithms, input, output, etc. without electricity? Surely, it's difficult to visualize because my definition of a computer is not exactly what the word sounds like COMPUTE-ER. Can someone help me bring the concept to light - the understanding, how to make one, etc? It seems like it'd be an interesting read, although I think I wouldn't be able to make it do anything.   In web dev I come across these problems a lot. For example, we have a giant list of URLs that are in this format: /businesses /businesses/food /businesses/food/wendys /businesses/food/wendys/chili /businesses/food/wendys/fries /businesses/food/wendys/chicken-nuggets /businesses/pharmacy/cvs /businesses/pharmacy/cvs/toothpaste /businesses/pharmacy/cvs/toothpaste/brand ... and then we need to output each one, where the parent category is in h1 tags, the child is in h2 tags, and the children of that are in h3 tags. I can handle this but I feel my code is messy. I'm sure there is a design pattern I can use? Langs are ruby/php usually. how would you handle this?

  My code in asp classic, doing a mssql database query: rs.pagesize = 1000 ' this should enable paging rs.maxrecords = 0 ' 0 = unlimited maxrecords response.write "hello world 1<br>" rs.open strSql, conn response.write "hello world 2<br>" My output when there are fewer than 1000 rows returned is good. More than 1000 rows and I don't get the "hello world 2". I thought that setting pagesize sets up paging and thus allows all rows to be returned regardless of how many rows there are. Without setting pagesize, paging is not enable and the limit is 1000 rows. However my page is acting as if pagesize is not working at all. Please advise.

  I needed to know what was in my Ruby load path, so I did this: $ ruby -e "puts $LOAD_PATH" It didn't print anything out, which I didn't expect. Why does the second one give me the expected output and the first one doesn't? Shouldn't they be the same? I just tried it in irb, and I got the results I expected. • Use C function in C++ program; "multiply-defined" error

  I am trying to use this code for the Porter stemming algorithm in a C++ program I've already written. I followed the instructions near the end of the file for using the code as a separate module. I created a file, stem.c, that ends after the definition and has extern int stem(char * p, int i, int j) ... It worked fine in Xcode but it does not work for me on Unix with gcc 4.1.1--strange because usually I have no problem moving between the two. I get the error ld: fatal: symbol `stem(char*, int, int)' is multiply-defined: (file /var/tmp//ccrWWlnb.o type=FUNC; file /var/tmp//cc6rUXka.o type=FUNC); ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to cluster I've looked online and it seems like there are many things I could have wrong, but I'm not sure what combination of a header file, extern "C", etc. would work.

  I am looking for an algorithm as follows: Given a set of possibly overlapping rectangles (All of which are "not rotated", can be uniformly represented as (left,top,right,bottom) tuplets, etc...), it returns a minimal set of (non-rotated) non-overlapping rectangles, that occupy the same area. It seems simple enough at first glance, but prooves to be tricky (at least to be done efficiently). Are there some known methods for this/ideas/pointers? Methods for not necessarily minimal, but heuristicly small, sets, are interesting as well, so are methods that produce any valid output set at all.

• Write set of integers to std::ofstream and be able to read them back

  Hello, I need to write a bunch of unsigned integers to std::ofstream in binary mode: std::ofstream f; f.open("some path", std::ios::out | std::ios::binary); // some loop { unsigned int k = get_k(); // may product numbers from 0 to 65535 f << k; } f.close(); They are written to the output file "as is" w/o any delimiter. So when I'm trying to read them back (expecting to get what I wrote) using std::ifstream I get very strange values. What I'm doing wrong? Or I should to put ' ' (space) to the stream after any added number to separate them? Thanks.
