  • Does a recursive Ant task exist to recover properties from external file?

    - by Julia2020
    Hi, I ve got a problem in getting properties with ant from a properties file. With a simple target like this in my build.xml, i'd like to get at least two properties path1 and path2. I'd like to have a generic target to get this two properties.... in order to avoid modifying the build.xml (just adding a new prop) Any suggestions? Thanks in advance ! build.xml : <target name="TEST" description="test ant"> <property file="dependencies.properties"/> <svn> <export srcUrl="${path.prop}" destPath="${workspace}/rep/" /> </svn> </target> dependencies.properties : path1.prop = /path/to/src1 path2.prop = /path/to/src2

  • Why empty String is treated as null in oracle?

    - by GK
We are using empty string in DB2 database for some business logic. but when the same record tried to insert into the Oracle it throws some not null property references to null value error. that is oracle treats empty string as null. So i am wondering why it is like that. and if there is a requirement of storing empty string how to do that on oracle?

  • Dynamic Typed Table/Model in J2EE?

    - by Viele
Hi, Usually with J2EE when we create Model, we define the fields and types of fields through XML or annotation before compilation time. Is there a way to change those in runtime? or better, is it possible to create a new Model based on the user's input during the runtime? such that the number of columns and types of fields are dynamic (determined at runtime)? Help is much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Tomcat Compression Does Not Add a Content-Encoding: gzip in the Header

    - by Julien Chastang
I am using Tomcat to compress my HTML content like this: <Connector port="8080" maxHttpHeaderSize="8192" maxProcessors="150" maxThreads="150" minSpareThreads="25" maxSpareThreads="75" enableLookups="false" redirectPort="8443" acceptCount="150" connectionTimeout="20000" disableUploadTimeout="true" compression="on" compressionMinSize="128" noCompressionUserAgents="gozilla, traviata" compressableMimeType="text/html" URIEncoding="UTF-8" /> In the HTTP header (as observed via YSlow), however, I am not seeing Content-Encoding: gzip resulting in a poor YSlow score. All I see is HeadersPost Response Headers Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1 Content-Type: text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Language: en-US Content-Length: 5251 Date: Sat, 14 Feb 2009 23:33:51 GMT I am running an apache mod_jk Tomcat configuration. How do I compress HTML content with Tomcat, and also have it add "Content-Encoding: gzip" in the header?

  • Netbeans Editor Library?

    - by Jeremybub
Netbeans seems to say in several places that it supports a library to just host the "Netbeans editor" widget in some other program. It has some weird documentation that seems to say a lot, but doesn't really say much about how to use it: http://bits.netbeans.org/dev/javadoc/org-netbeans-modules-editor-lib2/architecture-summary.html I can't seem to find any download for the "Netbeans editor library" (1 or 2), and the documentation they provide says to download the entire mercurial repository, which doesn't really help me, since it doesn't tell me what is part of this "library" and what is not. If someone could point me to a download for this library, or some minimal documentation about how to use it, that would be great. I've already seen the blog post here, but it doesn't really help with getting the library, and it seems to be talking about classes which I can't find in the Netbeans sources I downloaded (Maybe a different version?)

  • httponly cookie support in Apache HttpClient

    - by techzen
Can anyone confirm if the latest release of Apache httpClient 4.0.1 or 4.1 alpha2 supports httpOnly cookie. (Did not find anything in the release notes but the source code validation for cookies does not raise exception when value is not existing?) Since the previous versions raise an exception on trying to parse HttpOnly stating that no value was found.

  • In Netbeans+Ant, how do I avoid wsimport rebuilding web service clients every build?

    - by gustafc
I'm on a project where we use NetBeans (6.8). We use several different web services, which we have added as web service references, and Netbeans auto-generates the Ant wsimport scripts for us. Very handy, with one drawback: The web service clients are recompiled every time ant is invoked. This slows down the build process considerably and has caused the number of sword-related injuries, maimings and deaths to skyrocket. Normally, I'd fix this by changing the wsimport element from <wsimport sourcedestdir="${build.generated.dir}/jax-wsCache/PonyService" destdir="${build.generated.dir}/jax-wsCache/PonyService" wsdl="${wsdl-PonyService}" catalog="catalog.xml" verbose="true"/> to <wsimport sourcedestdir="${build.generated.dir}/jax-wsCache/PonyService" destdir="${build.generated.dir}/jax-wsCache/PonyService" wsdl="${wsdl-PonyService}" catalog="catalog.xml" verbose="true"> <produces dir="${build.generated.dir}/jax-wsCache/PonyService" /> </wsimport> But I can't, 'cause this part of the Ant script is auto-generated. If I right-click the PonyService web service reference and select Edit Web Service Attributes ⇒ wsimport options, I can add attributes to the wsimport element, but not child elements. So: How do I add the produces child element to wsimport other than hacking the auto-generated Ant script? Or more generally: How do I make the NetBeans-generated wsimport not recompile the web service clients every time I build?

  • Android: handle unexpected internet disconnect while downloading data

    - by M.A. Cape
    Hi, I have here a function that downloads data from a remote server to file. I am still not confident with my code. My question is, what if while reading the stream and saving the data to a file and suddenly I was disconnected in the internet, will these catch exceptions below can really catch that kind of incident? If not, can you suggest how to handle this kind of incident? Note: I call this function in a thread so that the UI won't be blocked. public static boolean getFromRemote(String link, String fileName, Context context){ boolean dataReceived = false; ConnectivityManager connec = (ConnectivityManager)context.getSystemService(Context.CONNECTIVITY_SERVICE); if (connec.getNetworkInfo(0).isConnected() || connec.getNetworkInfo(1).isConnected()){ try { HttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient(); HttpGet httpGet = new HttpGet(link); HttpParams params = httpClient.getParams(); HttpConnectionParams.setConnectionTimeout(params, 30000); HttpConnectionParams.setSoTimeout(params, 30000); HttpResponse response; response = httpClient.execute(httpGet); int statusCode = response.getStatusLine().getStatusCode(); if (statusCode == 200){ HttpEntity entity = response.getEntity(); InputStream in = null; OutputStream output = null; try{ in = entity.getContent(); String secondLevelCacheDir = context.getCacheDir() + fileName; File imageFile = new File(secondLevelCacheDir); output= new FileOutputStream(imageFile); IOUtilities.copy(in, output); output.flush(); } catch (IOException e) { Log.e("SAVING", "Could not load xml", e); } finally { IOUtilities.closeStream(in); IOUtilities.closeStream(output); dataReceived = true; } } }catch (SocketTimeoutException e){ //Handle not connecting to client !!!! Log.d("SocketTimeoutException Thrown", e.toString()); dataReceived = false; } catch (ClientProtocolException e) { //Handle not connecting to client !!!! Log.d("ClientProtocolException Thrown", e.toString()); dataReceived = false; }catch (MalformedURLException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); dataReceived = false; Log.d("MalformedURLException Thrown", e.toString()); } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); dataReceived = false; Log.d("IOException Thrown", e.toString()); } } return dataReceived; }

  • HQL(hibernate) timestamp range match

    - by Saky
I need to write a query to get an object between a range of time, currently the query looks like this: Timestamp from = ... Timestamp to = ... getHibernateTemplate().find("from " + Person.class.getName() + " ml where ml.lastModifiedOn>="+from.toString()+" and m1.lastModifiedOn<=" + to.toString()); However, this doesnot work for obvious reasons. How can I format the timestamp to be acceptable by the query. org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateQueryException: unexpected token: 16 near line 1, column 123 [from Person ml where ml.lastModifiedOn=2010-02-12 16:00:21.292 and m1.lastModifiedOn

  • TreeMap randomly stops properly returning values

    - by smessing
I have the following TreeMap: TreeMap<String, Integer> distances = new TreeMap<String, Integer>(); and it contains both strings, "Face" and "Foo", with appropriate values, such that: System.out.println(distances); Yields: {Face=12, Foo=2} However, distances.get(Face) returns null, even though distances.get(Foo) properly returns 2. Previously, distances.get(Face) worked, but for some reason, it stopped working. Note I print out the map right before calling get() for both keys, so I haven't accidentally changed Face's value to null. Has anyone else ever encountered this problem? Is there anything I can do? I'm having a terrible time simply trying to figure out how to debug this problem.

  • Programatically setting castor properites in version 1.3

    - by Dinuk
Hello, I am trying to programmatically set the org.exolab.castor.indent property when marshalling some objects - however, contrary to the documentation published, the class org.exolab.castor.util.LocalConfiguration does not seem to be shipped with the 1.3 release. Currently, I have specified the castor.properties file on the classpath, which is picking up the properties I want to set, but I would rather reduce this deployment overhead, as my indentation requirement is not likely to change. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Debugging JSR 168 Portlet with spring, eclipse & pluto.

    - by mikep
I am trying to set up a development environment to test Spring Portlet MVC for development of JSR 168 conforming portlets. I have the latest STS installed, which included Spring 2.5 and Eclipse (Catalina). This has been my environment to develop with Spring MVC, and that works fine using Apache as a local server for debugging. I found some instructions on the Pluto portal site on using Pluto as a remote debugging host for portlets. I have implemented those instructions. I am sending Eclipse into debug mode by right clicking on one of the JSPs and going into "debug as". My problem is that when I log into Pluto, it is not sending me into debug mode. I am seeing the default Pluto page as opposed to my portlet. My portlet has not been installed onto Pluto, and the instructions do not seem to require the portlet to be installed. To help, I have a screen shot at http://www.ceruleaninc.ca/pluto%5Fproblem.jpg, showing the following: Eclipse showing the remote debugging to localhost:8000 Tomcat showing the "Listening for transport dt_socket at address: 8000 The Catalina.bat jpda start command The Pluto Portal screen after log in Thanks much! I would welcome any advice on approaches to debugging portlets. I am not tied to pluto. There does seem to be a lack of detailed instructions on this topic.

  • Throwing exception vs returning null value with switch statement

    - by Greg
So I have function that formats a date to coerce to given enum DateType{CURRENT, START, END} what would be the best way to handling return value with cases that use switch statement public static String format(Date date, DateType datetype) { ..validation checks switch(datetype){ case CURRENT:{ return getFormattedDate(date, "yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss"); } ... default:throw new ("Something strange happend"); } } OR throw excpetion at the end public static String format(Date date, DateType datetype) { ..validation checks switch(datetype){ case CURRENT:{ return getFormattedDate(date, "yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss"); } ... } //It will never reach here, just to make compiler happy throw new IllegalArgumentException("Something strange happend"); } OR return null public static String format(Date date, DateType datetype) { ..validation checks switch(datetype){ case CURRENT:{ return getFormattedDate(date, "yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss"); } ... } return null; } What would be the best practice here ? Also all the enum values will be handled in the case statement
