  I am still very new to the MVC framework, but I managed to create a controller that reads from a database and writes JSON to an url; host.com/Controllername?minValue=something&maxValue=something However when I move the site to a subfolder; host.com/mvc/ it doesn't seem to be able to call the controller from there when I do it like this; host.com/mvc/Procedure?minValue=something&maxValue=something Did I forget to do something somewhere to make this url call valid from that subfolder? Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

So that when I'm logged in, I can see everything. But when an anonymous user visit the site, he will only see the public stuff. It's way to manage a kind of front window/back-store architecture. I can use the same Drupal installation to all my needs and choose to filter the stuff I may want to make publicly available. * Important : 1) Private items must not be accessible even if anonymous users guess its URL; 2) Private item must not show up if anonymous user perform a search; 3) Private content must not be indexed by search engines; 4) Private items should show up if I perform a search while being logged in.   I'm working on a new website that uses the Facebook API for users to login and several implementations of the graph Api. My workflow usually is: Development on localhost Development using MAMP/XAMPP or similar software Push to server - testing domain A team of people can test the changes for a few days to see if everything works as planned. Push to server - live domain Changes are live for public Facebook uses the site URL in the appsettings and for security reasons, they will only redirect to that url... Problem is.. I have localhost and 2 different domains. How can I make this work? Ofcourse I could edit the hostsfile, but that only fixes it for localhost.. Still no solution for the testdomain. Please tell me this is somehow possible! I'm getting more and more depressed with the Facebook API.

  I am working on a site which is full of inline css. Is there a tool to automatically refactor the pages so that inline css is moved to an external css file? Preferably doing this in a smart way where it doesn't create duplicate css declarations so if I have two inline css like style="left-padding; 12px", it creates one css class instead of two? Adobe Dreamweaver can do this manually one inline css at a time. I prefer a tool to do all the work in one shot.

  We have been using Perl's Net:Twitter CPAN module (version 3.12) and basic authentication (not OAuth) for almost a year now to syndicate updates from our site to our Twitter account. We just migrated to a new server last week and since the move our updates to Twitter have stopped and the following error is being reported whenever we try to post an update: HTTP::Message content not bytes at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/HTTP/Request/Common.pm line 90 Here is the code we're using the update our Twitter account: use Net::Twitter; my $twitter = Net::Twitter->new( traits => [qw/API::REST/], username => $username, password => $password, source => 'twitterfeed' ); my $result = $twitter->update($status); I have no idea what the issue is and was hoping that someone else has run into this issue and can provide a quick solution. The problem is that I would like to be able to call the crawler from command line (since it can take hours for it to finnish) and I would like to the use models in CakePHP when saving the data. • How can CSS stop Google Maps loading?

  I have a page with a Google Maps div: <div id="map_canvas" style="width: 100%; height: 332px;" ></div> If I comment out my CSS, the map loads fine: if I include the CSS, the map controls load, but the map tiles don't load: there's just a grey background. This is the case even if I put the map div just after the <body> tag, not within any styled element at all. No CSS, it loads fine. With CSS, no map. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I don't quite understand what the problem can be if no CSS styles are being applied to any element that contains the map. If more diagnostics are needed, please let me know, and I'll deploy the broken map onto a staging site, so people can look at the source.

  I am wondering if it is possible, and if so how, one could create a perl script that constantly monitors a file/db, and then call a subroutine to perform text processing if the file is changed. I'm pretty sure this would be possible using sockets, but this needs to be used for a webchat application on a site running on a shared host, and I'm not so sure sockets would be allowed on it.   I have a asp.net app that I want to disable the buttons as soon as they are clicked in order to prevent multiple submissions. I'd like to use jquery for this as the site already liberally uses it anyway. What I've tried is: $(document).ready(function () { $("#aspnetForm").submit(function () { $('input[type=submit]', $(this)).attr("disabled", "disabled"); }) }); The above will disable the button, and the page submits, but the asp.net button on click handler is never called.   Got an established libsyn rss feed, got a new drupal website for the podcast. Libsyn provides a player but not correct aesthetic. I can upload and play mp3 files with audio module and mp3player module, and like the mp3 player's output, a simple flash player, but I don't want to be manually moving the podcast audio files (mp3) over every week. Looked at importing automatically with Feeds, but it's not working and besides that's creating extra files unnecessarily on the drupal site. Just want to use the mp3player modulee's flash player in a drupal page, which feeds the latest mp3 file from a libsyn rss feed. Don't really need to store or play multiple episodes, just the latest episode. How would you do it?

I will be running the script on a cronjob and then displaying the tweets on my site from the database to prevent hitting the limit on the twitter API. So I don't want to have duplicate tweets in my database, I understand I can use 'INSERT...ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE' to achieve this, but I don't quite understand how to use it. My database structure is as follows. • Is it possible to maintain the url while redirecting to a classic asp page from a controller?

  While migrating a site from a classic asp to MVC, I'm having the problem that not all controllers are implemented yet. For those which are not implemented, I'd like to serve the classic asp page (say /product.asp?id=123) while maintaining the nice url /product/123. To accomplish this I implemented a dummy ProductController which returns a RedirectResult to the classic asp url. But that changes the url in the browsers navigation bar. Requirement has it, that the urls should always be a clean (mvc) one, eventhough the page has not yet been fully migrated. If this can't be done using a dummy controller, what would be an alternative option to solve this problem? Thanks in advance!

• Running sites on "localhost" is extremeley slow.

  Hello all, Having real trouble using my local host to test sites. It runs extremely slow! Sometimes up to a minute to load a page. I'm using firefox and the sites i'm testing run fine on other developers in my office local machines/ on the production server. I've gone through the normal things :- Disabled IPv6 Not running in debug mood Put the site in the highest app pool (High Isolated) on IIS 6. Taking of firewalls etc. The problem only seems to occur when hitting pages which contain some form of .net code in the code-behind. Appreciate that this a little bit of a vague topic / stab in the dark but would appreciate any sort of advice - it's horrible waiting a minute each refresh to try out a change! Cheers, Sean.

  In my site I have class A which selects the required page module (blog,content,gallery etc). I also have class B which provides sqlclient database objects and sql statements. If I use class B in a web form via "Imports Class B". I am able to access the contents. I now would like to use class B within class A but am struggling to find the correct syntax for importing it. • How do I convert text to hyperlinks in C#?

  I am very very very new to C# and ASP.NET development. What I'd like to do is a find-and-replace for certain words appearing in the body text of a web page. Every time a certain word appears in the body text, I'd like to convert that word into a hyperlink that links to another page on our site. I have no idea where to even start with this. I've found code for doing find-and-replace in C#, but I haven't found any help for just reading through a document, finding certain strings, and changing them into different strings.
