I am a newbie to perl. My problem is...
I have a relative path
$base_path = input/myMock.TGZ
The filename can change. But the path is always stored in $base_path.
I need to check if the file exists in $base_path.
Any suggestions are helpful to me
I have my Hudson CI server setup. I have a CVS repo that I can only checkout stuff via ssh. But I see no way to convince Hudson to check out via ssh. I tried all sorts of options when supplying my connection string.
Has anyone done this? I gotta think it has been done.

Hello
How can I check if the user has allowed location for mu app?
Normally I would use authorizationStatus method of the CLLocationManager class, but it is only available in iOS 4.2 and newer. Is it possible to achieve this somehow while still using SDK 4.2, so that the app can still run on devices with older versions of iOS, or do I have to downgrade the SDK?
And along the same line, I need a similar alternative for the locationServicesEnabled method prior to iOS 4.0.
Thanx
In the script, sometimes a newline is added in the beginning of the text field (am using a textArea in adobe flex 3), and later on that newline might need to be removed (after other text has been added). I was wondering how to check if there is a newline at the beginning of the text field and then how to remove it. Thanks in advance.
I have a file upload control <input id="File1" type="file" /> in my page... How to check an input type="file" has a file or not using jquery on click of a button upload?
I am using python and would like a simple api or regex to check for a domain name's validity. By validity I am the syntactical validity and not whether the domain name actually exists on the Internet or not.
Is there a way to check if an SDF file is encrypted before calling SqlCeConnection.Open()? Or do you just try to open it without a password and catch a specific error -- maybe SSCE_M_INVALIDSRCPASSWORD?
I need to check if all the references in a project exist to avoid possible errors but I can't find anywhere how to do it in VB.NET. I can do it in VBA like this:
Dim vbProj As VBProject
Dim chkRef As Reference
Set vbProj = ThisWorkbook.VBProject
For Each chkRef In vbProj.References
If chkRef.IsBroken Then
Debug.Print chkRef.Name " reference doesn't exist!"
End If
Next
How do I accomplish this in VB.NET?
I have an application where I need to check for a file which may be created dynamically during my execution, I will give up after some MAX time where the file has yet to show up. I wanted to know if there was a more efficient method in Java of checking for the file other than polling for it and then sleeping every X seconds? If not what would be the most efficient manner of doing this?
I want to execute a powershell using the .net Powershell SDK. I have this working fine.
Before I execute it I want to check that the script has been signed by my code signing certificate - this is easy enough to do from within powershell itself using Get-AuthenticodeSignature but I would like to do this in code before choosing to execute this script.
I have several select boxes and textboxes with the same class and I have the following statement.
if ($('.selTxtClass:visible').val() == "") {
$('.selTxtClass:visible').focus();
}
}
If I do an alert with ($('.selTxtClass:visible').val()) it comes as undefined.
I want to check that the value of these elements are empty, but I cant see what is wrong with this if statement, could you give me a hand, please?
Thanks a lot.
In javascript, how would you check if an object is actually visible. I don't just mean checking the visibility and display attributes. I mean, checking that the element is not
visibility:hidden or display:none
underneath another element
scrolled off the edge of the screen.
EDIT: For technical reasons, I can't include any scripts. I can however use prototype as it is on the page already.
EDIT 2: This is no longer neccesary, but I'd still find an answer interesting)

Currently I monitoring a particular file with a simple shell one-liner:
filesize=$(ls -lah somefile | awk '{print $5}')
I'm aware that Perl has some nice modules to deal with Excel files so the idea is to, let's say, run that check daily, perhaps with cron, and write the result on a spreadsheet for further statistical use.
Working with an standard configuration of the server, without any lock, my files are read-only after every check out or update to the working copy. I have to set them to be not read-only to continue working, but besides this shouldn't be happening, it's uncomfortable.
Anybody knows how to avoid this behavior?
