  • Does O2Micro Oz776 Smartcard reader support SLE5528 cards?

    Well, the title seems indicating I'm a lazy guy but it's not the truth... I'm messing with this weird circumstance a whole day. My laptop is a Dell Latitude D630 which has a Oz776 (usb idVendor == 0x0b97, idProduct == 0x7772) smartcard reader, but I'm not sure if it is functioning well. It can successfully recognize my Gemplus GPK4000 smartcard and my SIM card, but not SLE5528. When inserted any PVC card with no chip or AT24C01 card, it would not choke but report immediate PowerUp failure. When I tried it on Windows(Windows 7, "runas other user", smartcard login), it chokes too while PVC cards and AT24C01 report immediate failure.

  • C++/CLI: Compiling static library with /CLR support

    We have old (working) code that consists of a static library compiled with /CLR, and a C++/CLI DLL that links to the static lib. We are about to add new features to this static lib. Now, I've have heard from numerous sources that CLR static libraries are not supported by Microsoft, and therefore I'm pushing to clean this up and switch to DLL before we start adding new features to this project. However, I haven't been able to find any official information from Microsoft regarding this (say, from MSDN - other than their forums). I will appreciate any resources about this whole "static lib with CLR" issue.

    Hello, I have created a real simple templated UserControl using the following tutorial: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/36574bf6(VS.80).aspx I can now add this control to my mvc 2.0 application using: <components:Box BoxType="Help" Title="Content Title" runat="server"> <Content> <%: Html.TextBox("test") %> This is my awesome content!<br /> <b>Test</b> </Content> </components:Box> However, when I go to the designer, I get an exception: Type 'System.Web.UI.UserControl' does not have a public property named 'Content'. How can I fix this? I don't even need to use the drag-and-drop designer, just rendering the control will do fine. Thanks!

  • A SelfHosted WCF Service over Basic HTTP Binding doesn't support more than 1000 concurrent requests

    I have self hosted a WCF Service over BasicHttpBinding consumed by an ASMX Client. I'm simulating a concurrent user load of 1200 users. The service method takes a string parameter and returns a string. The data exchanged is less than 10KB. The processing time for a request is fixed at 2 seconds by having a Thread.Sleep(2000) statement. Nothing additional. I have removed all the DB Hits / business logic. The same piece of code runs fine for 1000 concurrent users. I get the following error when I bump up the number to 1200 users. The Open, Close, Send and Receive Timeouts are set to 10 Minutes. The HTTPWebRequest KeepAlive set to false. I have not been able to nail down the issue for the past two days.     Just curious as to why Dictionary is not supported by XmlSerializer? You can get around it easily enough by using DataContractSerializer and writing the object to a XmlTextWriter, but what are the characteristics of a Dictionary that makes it difficult for a XmlSerializer to deal with considering it's really an array of KeyValuePairs. In fact, you can pass an IDictionary<TKey, TItem> to a method expecting an IEnumerable<KeyValuePairs<TKey, ITem>>.

    Hi I am using Crystal Reports 10 with IIS Server. I wish to display some of the reports in Portuguese language. How can I configure Crystal Reports to display data in Portuguese ? I guess I will need to download a language pack for this but will it allow word-by-word conversion from English to Portuguese ? Grammatically correct sentences are not currently my concern.   • Undo/Redo Support for Table Changes in WPF RichTextBox

    As part of an editor project, I need to add functionality to the WPF RichTextBox control to allow the user to perform operations on a table. One of those operations is to apply a new width value to one or more columns of the table. I have a function that is applying a new Width value to the TableColumn objects in question, and the table is resizing itself nicely. However, I've noticed that the column-width change operation does not seem to be added to the undo stack. In other words, if a user types something, then changes a column width, then selects undo, the RichTextBox control undoes the user's typing. Undo and redo don't seem to be picking up the property change on the TableColumn object. Is there some way to make this operation occur in a way that it actually is undoable/redoable?

  • Client-side framework for web-app with good audio support

    I'm trying to create a client-side web app that generates music procedurally using some user-input parameters, so I'm looking for a framework (e.g. Flash, Silverlight etc.) that has the capability to play audio at a specified pitch. Whether it is playing a WAV/MP3 file, using MIDI output, or just playing beeps doesn't really matter -- I just need something that will enable me to generate arbitrary music client-side. I've done a bit of searching and it appears that Flash might have the ability to change pitch with the help of a third-part plugin, but I couldn't find anything similar for Silverlight. I can go a try all them out manually if need be, but I thought I'd ask here first just in case anyone had tried something like this before. Thanks in advance

I would like to achieve the same result that I get from using GroundOverlay in KML files, such as <GroundOverlay> <name>myimage</name> <Icon> <href>myimage.png</href> <viewBoundScale>0.75</viewBoundScale> </Icon> <LatLonBox> <north>75.6088</north> <south>5.0121</south> <east>182.2805</east> <west>120.6795</west> </LatLonBox> </GroundOverlay> The above will ensure that the 4 corners of my image stay anchored to the 4 lat/long points listed, regardless of scrolling, zooming etc.. Is there a way to accomplish this using the google api/maps provided for android?

So I'm starting to think that mercurial-server doesn't handle subrepo. Any clue?

    I have read many articles about the battle between natural versus surrogate primary keys. I agree in the use of surrogate keys to identify records of tables whose contents are created by the user. But in the case of supporting tables what should I use? For example, in a hypothetical table "orderStates". If you use a natural key would have the following data: TABLE ORDERSTATES {ID: "NEW", NAME: "New"} {ID: "MANAGEMENT" NAME: "Management"} {ID: "SHIPPED" NAME: "Shipped"} If I use a surrogate key would have the following data: TABLE ORDERSTATES {ID: 1 CODE: "NEW", NAME: "New"} {ID: 2 CODE: "MANAGEMENT" NAME: "Management"} {ID: 3 CODE: "SHIPPED" NAME: "Shipped"} Now let's take an example: a user enters a new order. In the case in which use natural keys, in the code I can write this: newOrder.StateOrderId = "NEW"; With the surrogate keys instead every time I have an additional step. stateOrderId_NEW = .... I retrieve the id corresponding to the recod code "NEW" newOrder.StateOrderId = stateOrderId_NEW; The same will happen every time I have to move the order in a new status. So, in this case, what are the reason to chose one key type vs the other one?

    So I'm looking into urllib3 because it has connection pooling and is thread safe (so performance is better, especially for crawling), but the documentation is... minimal to say the least. urllib2 has build_opener so something like: #!/usr/bin/python import cookielib, urllib2 cj = cookielib.CookieJar() opener = urllib2.build_opener(urllib2.HTTPCookieProcessor(cj)) r = opener.open("http://example.com/") But urllib3 has no build_opener method, so the only way I have figured out so far is to manually put it in the header: #!/usr/bin/python import urllib3 http_pool = urllib3.connection_from_url("http://example.com") myheaders = {'Cookie':'some cookie data'} r = http_pool.get_url("http://example.org/", headers=myheaders) But I am hoping there is a better way and that one of you can tell me what it is.
