  • Parsing Complex Text File with C#

    Hello, I need to parse a text file that has a lot of levels and characters. I've been trying different ways to parse it but I haven't been able to get anything to work. I've included a sample of the text file I'm dealing with. Any suggestions on how I can parse this file? I have denoted the parts of the file I need with TEXTINEED.   • How can I have MySQL write outfiles as a different user?

    I'm working with a MySQL query that writes into an outfile. I run this query once every day or two and so I want to be able to remove the outfile without having to resort to su or sudo. The only way I can think of making that happen is to have the outfile written as owned by someone other than the mysql user. Is this possible? Edit: I am not redirecting output to a file, I am using the INTO OUTFILE part of a select query to output to a file. A customer can have multiple addresses and I don't want to return all the addresses for each customer when I am only interested in whether they have an address or not. I use context.Customers.Include(c => c.Addresses) but that returns all addresses for each customer

  • Good portfolio projects

    Hi, I am a recent graduate and am looking to start a career in web development. Its kind of a catch 22 at the moment as I have a fair bit of programming experience from university but not really in web development and to get a job in web development a portfolio is typically required. So, I am looking to start a building a few application in order to have something to show potential employers. Im more into the backend stuff although am just as comfortable with front end development. Does anyone have any thoughts on some potential projects that would be both relatively quick (as i need to get a job soon!) to build but show off enough programming knowlege / skills to be impressive to employers. At the moment i am also learning to use the zend framework and I would hope to find work using such a framework (mvc). My initial thoughts would be things like a webmail app or maybe a custom CMS. Any ideas would be greatley appreciated.

  • How can I use the same buildscript for Flash Builder 4 and Ant/Mvn?

    I'm setting up a build system for a Flash Builder 4 (Flex 4) based project; and I'm struggling to get a setup that compiles in the IDE the same as it does from the command line on the build server. I come from a C# background; and my expectation is that I'll be able to create a "solution" with a collection of "projects" that I can compile from the IDE, or from the command line on the build server. The best I've managed sofar is 2 separate build "scripts", a custom ant script for the build server, and the default Flash Builder IDE config based on a workspace; but this is making my DRY daemons jump around in fury. Please can someone point me in the right direction :)

  • Is there a way to change the maximum width of a window without using the WM_GETMINMAXINFO message?

    I want to change the imposed Windows maximum width that a window can be resized to, for an external application's window (not my C#/WinForms program's window). The documentation of GetSystemMetrics for SM_CXMAXTRACK says: "The default maximum width of a window that has a caption and sizing borders, in pixels. This metric refers to the entire desktop. The user cannot drag the window frame to a size larger than these dimensions. A window can override this value by processing the WM_GETMINMAXINFO message." Is there a way to modify this SM_CXMAXTRACK value (either system wide or for one particular window), without processing the WM_GETMINMAXINFO message? Maybe an undocumented function, a registry setting, etc.? (Or: The documentation for MINMAXINFO.ptMaxTrackSize says: "This value is based on the size of the virtual screen and can be obtained programmatically from the system metrics SM_CXMAXTRACK and SM_CYMAXTRACK." Maybe there is a way to change the size of the virtual screen?) Thank you

    I'm working through O'Reilly's "Learning Python" and having a problem with classes. I think I understand the concept, but in practice have stumbled upon this problem. Fron page 88-89: >>> class Worker: def __innit__(self, name, pay): self.name=name self.pay=pay def lastName(self): return self.name.split()[-1] def giveRaise(self, percent): self.pay*=(1.0+percent) Then the book says "Calling the class like a function generates instances of a new type ...etc" and gives this example. bob = Worker('Bob Smith', 50000) This gives me this error: TypeError: this constructor takes no arguments. And then I start muttering profanities. So what am I doing wrong here? Thanks for the help.

  • How can I force a jQuery faded-in user control to remain after click events?

    I have a basic page to which I'm adding an uploader control based on Bulk Uploader at c-sharpcorner.com and the control is in a jQuery-faded div based on yesdegisn The Bulk Uploader has two server side event handlers for two buttons--Add and Remove. After clicking these buttons, the fade disappears and you're back to the basic page--if the user needs to add more files, this is not desirable. The ArrayList of files added to a ListBox is maintained, but I have to click the "fade-in" link (LinkButton id="lnkDocumentUpload") to display this window again. I also need the control to POST to UploadPost.aspx, and it doesn't work either. Clicking the upload button(<asp:Button ID="btnUpload" runat="server" />) has the same behavior described above--fade disappears, data is retained, and no POST. I've surrounded the control with <form id="frmUpload" action="~/UploadPost.aspx"> ... <asp:Button ID="btnUpload" runat="server" Text="Upload"/> </form> A LinkButton activates the fade in jQuery via $("#lnkDocumentUpload").click(function() { centerPopup(); loadPopup(); });

  • SharePoint Designer: how do I disable auto insertion of image size attributes?

    I'm hand-editing HTML files in a plain text editor (vim) via SharePoint Designer. Problem is, as soon as I save the files, SharePoint automatically adds width and height attributes to all the img-tags. Anyone know if it's possible to disable this "feature"? I don't want it to mess around with my code. Yeah, shouldn't be using SharePoint Designer then, I know - problem is that's not an option.

  • Is my objective possible using WCF (and is it the right way to do things?)

    I'm writing some software that modifies a Windows Server's configuration (things like MS-DNS, IIS, parts of the filesystem). My design has a server process that builds an in-memory object graph of the server configuration state and a client which requests this object graph. The server would then serialize the graph, send it to the client (presumably using WCF), the server then makes changes to this graph and sends it back to the server. The server receives the graph and proceeds to make modifications to the server. However I've learned that object-graph serialisation in WCF isn't as simple as I first thought. My objects have a hierarchy and many have parametrised-constructors and immutable properties/fields. There are also numerous collections, arrays, and dictionaries. My understanding of WCF serialisation is that it requires use of either the XmlSerializer or DataContractSerializer, but DCS places restrictions on the design of my object-graph (immutable data seems right-out, it also requires parameter-less constructors). I understand XmlSerializer lets me use my own classes provided they implement ISerializable and have the de-serializer constructor. That is fine by me. I spoke to a friend of mine about this, and he advocates going for a Data Transport Object-only route, where I'd have to maintain a separate DataContract object-graph for the transport of data and re-implement my server objects on the client. Another friend of mine said that because my service only has two operations ("GetServerConfiguration" and "PutServerConfiguration") it might be worthwhile just skipping WCF entirely and implementing my own server that uses Sockets. So my questions are: Has anyone faced a similar problem before and if so, are there better approaches? Is it wise to send an entire object graph to the client for processing? Should I instead break it down so that the client requests a part of the object graph as it needs it and sends only bits that have changed (thus reducing concurrency-related risks?)? If sending the object-graph down is the right way, is WCF the right tool? And if WCF is right, what's the best way to get WCF to serialise my object graph?

  • Why does my perl server stop working when i press 'enter'?

    I have created a server in perl that sends messages or commands to the client. I can send commands just fine, but when i am being prompted for the command on my server i have created, if i press 'enter', the server messes up. Why is this happening?   • Using struts.xml with convention plugin

    This seems like it should be easy to do, but I just can make it work. I'm hooked on the convention plugin in Struts 2.1. However, I need to define some package-level configuration such as a new interceptor stack and exception mappings. I'd like to use the struts.xml file for this, but I can't get the convention-based packages matched to the struts.xml packages.     I understand the host of issues in comparing floats, and lament their use in this case - but I'm not the table author and have only a small hurdle to climb... Someone has decided to use floats as you'd expect GUIDs to be used. I need to retrieve all the records with a specific float value. sp_help MyTable -- Column_name Type Computed Length Prec -- RandomGrouping float no 8 53 Here's my naive attempt: --yields no results SELECT RandomGrouping FROM MyTable WHERE RandomGrouping = 0.867153569942739 And here's an approximately working attempt: --yields 2 records SELECT RandomGrouping FROM MyTable WHERE RandomGrouping BETWEEN 0.867153569942739 - 0.00000001 AND 0.867153569942739 + 0.00000001 -- 0.867153569942739 -- 0.867153569942739 In my naive attempt, is that literal a floating point literal? Or is it really a decimal literal that gets converted later? If my literal is not a floating point literal, what is the syntax for making a floating point literal? EDIT: Another possibility has occurred to me... it may be that a more precise number than is displayed is stored in this column. It may be impossible to create a literal that represents this number. I will accept answers that demonstrate that this is the case. EDIT: response to DVK. TSQL is MSSQLServer's dialect of SQL. This script works, and so equality can be performed deterministically between float types: DECLARE @X float SELECT top 1 @X = RandomGrouping FROM MyTable WHERE RandomGrouping BETWEEN 0.839110948199148 - 0.000000000001 AND 0.839110948199148 + 0.000000000001 --yields two records SELECT * FROM MyTable WHERE RandomGrouping = @X I said "approximately" because that method tests for a range. With that method I could get values that are not equal to my intended value. The linked article doesn't apply because I'm not (intentionally) trying to straddle the world boundaries between decimal and float. I'm trying to work with only floats. This isn't about the non-convertibility of decimals to floats.

  • Core Data: Overkill for simple, static UITableView-based iPhone App?

    Hello! I have a rather simple iPhone app consisting of numerous views containing a single, grouped table view. These views are held together in navigation controllers which are grouped in a tab bar. Simple stuff. My table views do little more than list text (like "Dog", "Cat" and "Weasel") and this data is being served from a collection of plists. It's perhaps worth mentioning too that these tables are 'static' in the sense that their data is pre-determined and will only ever be amended—and if so, very rarely indeed—by the developer (in this case, moi). This rudimentary approach has reached its limits though, and I think I'm going to need something a bit more relational. I have worked a tad with Core Data in the past, but only with apps whose data is determined by user input. I have four closely related questions: Is Core Data overkill for an app consisting mainly of a selection of simple table views? Do you recommend using Core Data to manage data which is predetermine and extremely unlikely to ever change? Can one lock Core Data down so that its data can't change, thereby relinquishing my responsibility as the developer to handle the editing and saving of the managed object context? How do I go about giving Core Data my predetermined data, and in a format I know that it can work with? Thanks a bunch guys.

Using Solaris RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), one can give a non-root user permissions to execute those commands, but the commands still fail internally. Example: $pfexec /opt/11.1.0/crs/bin/crs_stop SomeArg CRS-0259: Owner of the resource does not belong to the group. Is there a complete RBAC solution for Oracle RAC or does the executor need to be root?   • Blogger Template not saving after Facebook like changes

    I've add the facebook Like button to http://www.goldfishview.com/ and that works great. Its powered by Blogger. Now I want to move it to the end of my posts instead of a the beginning. I move the facebook iframe and the preview looks great, but once I save the template it reverts back to were it was. I've tried in Chrome and Firefox. In Chrome after I click preview the save template button becomes useless and doesn't do anything when I click on it. In Firefox everything looks like it takes, but on page refresh the iFrame goes back to its original position. Am I crazy?

  • What adapter to use for ExpandableListView with non-TextView views?

    I have an ExpandableListView in which I'd like to have controls other than TextView. Apparently, SimpleExandableListViewAdapter assumes all the controls are TextViews. A cast exception is generated if they are not. What is the recommended solution? Options I can think of include: - Use some other included adapter. But I can't tell if they all have the same assumption. - Create my own adapter. Is there a doc which describes the contract, ie the sequence of method calls an adapter will encounter? I expected the existing adapters to require the views to conform to some interface to allow any conforming view to be used, rather than hardcode to textview and limit where they can be used.
