  • Connection to webservice times out first time

    My application needs to connect to a web service. The WSDL file given by the client was converted to java using the wsdl2java utility in axis 2-1.5.2. The problem occurs during the first connection to the webservice.   • UIPageControl bug: showing one bullet first and then showing everything

    I have some strange behavior using a UIPageControl: First it appears showing only one bullet, then when I move the scroll view all the bullets appear correctly. Is there something I'm missing before I add it as a subview?   • Dialog created after first becomes unresponsive unless created first?

    After creating the initial dialog box that works perfectly fine, I create another dialog box when the Join Game button is pressed. The dialog box is created and show successfully, however I am unable to type in the edit box or even press or exit the dialog. Does anyone understand how to fix this or why it happens? I made sure the dialog box itself was not the problem by creating and displaying it from the main loop in the application. It worked fine when I created it that way. So why does it error when being created from another dialog? My code is below.   • Map a column to be IDENTITY in db with EF4 Code-Only

    Although I have marked my ID column with .Identity(), the generated database schema doesn't have IDENTITY set to true, which gives me problems when I'm adding records. If I manually edit the database schema (in SQL Management Studio) to have the Id column marked IDENTITY, everything works as I want it - I just can't make EF do that by itself.   • Getting a WebView to act exactly like Safari

    (edited to give a better description of the answer I gave) I have created a very simple browser in InterfaceBuilder consisting of a nav bar and a webview. Everything works fine except when I try to tab between input fields is the webview, the focus goes to the nav bar. I'm assuming I need to do something with the responder chain, but I haven't been able to figure out what. Any advice? Thanks, Kelly

I think the problem might be in the stack manipulations or in the recursive dfs call. I've tried a lot of things, but still can't seem to figure out why it does not backtrack. Can somebody help me ?

  • Phonegap / jquery mobile slide transition not workign properly on first call

    I have an awkward visual glitch. I want nice transition when changing pages on the app. Unfortunately first time i change to another page, Instead of sliding current pagg out and new page in , current page is immediately replaces by the new page, then slides out... and when it's out of view it's the new page is shown... the second time around it works like a charm though !!!   • Given the presentation model pattern, is the view, presentation model, or model responsible for adding child views to an existing view at runtime?

    I am building a Flex 4 based application using the presentation model design pattern. This application will have several different components to it as shown in the image below. The MainView and DashboardView will always be visible and they each have corresponding presentation models and models as necessary. These views are easily created by declaring their MXML in the application root. <s:HGroup width="100%" height="100%"> <MainView width="75% height="100%"/> <DashboardView width="25%" height="100%"/> </s:HGroup> There will also be many WidgetViewN views that can be added to the DashboardView by the user at runtime through a simple drop down list. This will need to be accomplished via ActionScript. The drop down list should always show what WidgetViewN has already been added to the DashboardView. Therefore some state about which WidgetViewN's have been created needs to be stored. Since the list of available WidgetViewN and which ones are added to the DashboardView also need to be accessible from other components in the system I think this needs to be stored in a Model object. My understanding of the presentation model design pattern is that the view is very lean. It contains as close to zero logic as is practical. The view communicates/binds to the presentation model which contains all the necessary view logic. The presentation model is effectively an abstract representation of the view which supports low coupling and eases testability. The presentation model may have one or more models injected in in order to display the necessary information. The models themselves contain no view logic whatsoever. So I have a several questions around this design. Who should be responsible for creating the WidgetViewN components and adding these to the DashboardView? Is this the responsibility of the DashboardView, DashboardPresentationModel, DashboardModel or something else entirely? It seems like the DashboardPresentationModel would be responsible for creating/adding/removing any child views from it's display but how do you do this without passing in the DashboardView to the DashboardPresentationModel? The list of available and visible WidgetViewN components needs to be accessible to a few other components as well. Is it okay for a reference to a WidgetViewN to be stored/referenced in a model? Are there any good examples of the presentation model pattern online in Flex that also include creating child views at runtime?

    hi all.. Consider two php scripts(o.php & t.php) o.php contains both html and php. html here gets user input for eg:user name and password this information is passed to php using php-self. I want the user input of o.php passed to t.php without any modification in o.php. I ve used include and require in the t.php but the problem is it displays the output of o.php but i need only the user input values from o.php without displaying the output of o.php. Using functions or session in o.php we can pass user input but am in the situation tat i should not add or modify o.php. thanks in advance!!

    I'm trying to do a rich text editor for a web application, and I need to be able to mark some elements in the text as uneditable by the user. The reason for this is they're placeholders for dynamic content (like created date) that I want to have a live preview for. However, since there is no text before the element marked as 'notype', it gets inserted inside the same element. This is double bad when the user presses "enter", as a new tag is genrated, and the "notype" tag is duplicated, obviously not required. I want the behaviour as follows: * If the user types while the cursor is in the 'notype' tag, the cursor is moved to front and the text goes there * If the cursor is at the last position inside the 'notype' tag, then the text appears after the tag * If the user types anywhere else, it's inserted as always. The link at the bottom tries to manually put the cursor at the front and insert the html. Obviously fails. I know this one can work by doing something like $(g.iDoc.body).prepend("before!"), but this obviously won't work in a real scenario (using keyup).

  • UIScrollView subviews not showing at first

    I created a custom UIScrollView subclass that works a like a UITableView, keeping a collection of subviews and re-using them whenever the user scrolls. It's implemented like this: -(void)layoutSubviews { for(UIView *subview in [self subviews]) [subview removeFromSuperview]; // then re-add subviews after changing the frame and some attributes } This works fine with simple UIViews, but when I try to do it with a UIView that has a UILabel subview, the "base" view appears fine, but the UILabel doesn't show up at all. I can get the UILabel to show up by scrolling the entire UIView off screen and then bringing it back on. What could be causing this? So far, I've tried calling [myUIView setNeedsLayout], [myUIView setNeedsDisplay], and [myUIView layoutIfNeeded] from various places. None of them worked, and the last one crashed my app. I've also done the same thing to myUIScrollViewSubclass, with similar results.

    Hello, I've been tasked with designing a very simple SSO (single sign-on) process. My employer has specified that it should be implimented in SAML. I'd like to create messages that are absolutely as simple as possible while confirming to the SAML spec. I'd be really grateful if some of you would look at my request and response messages and tell me if they make sense for my purpose, if they include anything that doesn't need to be there, and if they are missing anything that does need to be there. Addionally, I'd like to know where in the response I should put additional information about the subject; in particular, the subject's email address. The interaction needs to work as follows: 1) User requests service from service provider at this point, the service provider knows nothing about the user. 2) Service provider requests authentication for user from identity provider 3) User is authenticated/registered by identity provider 4) Identity provider responds to Service provider with authentication success message, PLUS user's email address.     I'm trying to start using Unit Testing and I want to test the following Controller: public class AjaxController : Controller { ... public JsonResult RateVideo( int userRating, long videoId ) { string userName = User.Identity.Name; ... } } I have a created a TestClass with the following method: [ TestMethod public void TestRateVideo() { //Arrange AjaxController c = new AjaxController(); //Act JsonResult jr = c.RateVideo(1, 1); //Assert //Not implemented yet } I select debug and run the test. When the code reaches the 1st statement: string username = User.Identity.Name; Debugging stops and I am presented with a message that says that the test failed. Any guidance you can offer would be appreciated.
