  • How to compare two arrays of integers order-insensitively

    I want Java code that can compare in this way (for example): <1 2 3 4> = <3 1 2 4> <1 2 3 4> != <3 4 1 1> I can't use hashmap table or anything; just pure code without library. I know there are two ways. sort them and compare the array index by index use two for loops and compare the outer index with the inner index. I have been trying with this but still not working: for(int i = 0; i < n; i++) { for(int j = 0; j < n; j++) { if(a[i] != a[j] && j == n) return false; } } return true; anything wrong with the code ? thanks

  • In Python, are there builtin functions for elementwise map of boolean operators over tuples of lists

    For example, if you have n lists of bools of the same length, then elementwise boolean AND should return another list of that length that has True in those positions where all the input lists have True, and False everywhere else. It's pretty easy to write, i just would prefer to use a builtin if one exists (for the sake of standardization/readability).   • JavaScript's Associative Array / Object can't be read in functions

    At the very beginning of the javascript file, I have: var lbp = {}; lbp.defaults = { minLength: 40 }; I can successfully alert it afterwards, with: alert(lbp.defaults.minLength); But as soon as I put it inside a function, when I alert, I get "Undefined". What gives, and how do I avoid this? Is it absolutely necessary to pass this variable into each function, for example, by doing: function(lbp) { alert(lbp.defaults.minLength); } I would have thought that defining it first, it would attain global scope and not be required to be passed in? Thanks in advance for enlightening me :)

  • Improve a regex statement in order to be as efficient as it can be

    I have a PHP program that, at some point, needs to analyze a big amount of HTML+javascript text to parse info. All I want to parse needs to be in two parts. Seperate all "HTML goups" to parse Parse each HTML group to get the needed information. In the 1st parse it needs to find: <div id="myHome" And start capturing after that tag. Then stop capturing before <span id="nReaders" And capture the number that comes after this tag and stop. In the 2nd parse use the capture nº 1 (0 has the whole thing and 2 has the number) from the parse made before and then find . I already have code to do that and it works. The parser I've checked (thx profitphp) does work to find the script tag. What now? There are more than 1 tag with the same class. I want them all. But I want only with also one of a list of classes..... Where can I find instructions and demos and limitations of DOM parsers (like the one in http://simplehtmldom.sourceforge.net/)? I need something that will work on, at least, a big amount of free servers.

    I thought I would try and be clever and create a Wait function of my own (I realise there are other ways to do this). So I wrote: var interval_id; var countdowntimer = 0; function Wait(wait_interval) { countdowntimer = wait_interval; interval_id = setInterval(function() { --countdowntimer <=0 ? clearInterval(interval_id) : null; }, 1000); do {} while (countdowntimer >= 0); } // Wait a bit: 5 secs Wait(5); This all works, except for the infinite looping. Upon inspection, if I take the While loop out, the anonymous function is entered 5 times, as expected. So clearly the global variable countdowntimer is decremented. However, if I check the value of countdowntimer, in the While loop, it never goes down. This is despite the fact that the anonymous function is being called whilst in the While loop! Clearly, somehow, there are two values of countdowntimer floating around, but why?

    NSLog function accepts printf format specifiers. My question is about %x specifier. Does this print hex codes as sequence on memory? Or does it have it's own printing sequence style? unsigned int a = 0x000000FF; NSLog(@"%x", a); Results of above code on little or big endian processors are equal or different? And how about NSString's -initWithFormat method? Does it follows this rule equally?

  • How to access widgets created within functions in later function calls in Qt

    So currently I have code, in C++, that creates a few QLabels, a QLineEdit, and a QCheckBox when a selection is made from a QComboBox. However, I would like to be able to access the widgets I have created in a later function to destroy them if a new selection is made from the combo box. I am able to access the objects created from using the Designer by doing ui-Object but i am not able to do that with objects created by using my own code. Can I do that some how, because I know how to work with that. In short, I would like to be able to dynamically create/destroy QWidgets based on selections made by the user. Is there a reference I should know of to do this, or any documentation? Or am I just completely going about this the wrong way?   • Rails routing of a controller's functions query

    So I've got a Users controller, and it has (amongst others) a function called details. The idea is that a user can go to localhost:3000/user/:user_id/details and be able to view the details of :user_id. For example, I have a user called "tester". When I go to the uri: http://localhost:3000/users/tester/details I'd want the details function to be called up, to render the details view, and to display the information for the user tester. But instead I get an error saying that No action responded to tester. Actions: change_password, create, current_user, details, forgot_password, index, login_required, new, redirect_to_stored, show, and update_attributes And I understand that to basically mean that if I wanted to access details, I should really be using http://localhost:3000/users/details Except that that isn't really working either... .< That is instead bringing me to http://localhost:3000/users/details/registries (which is the default path that I'd stipulated for anybody trying to view users/:user_id, so again, that's working the way I wanted it to) Point is: Can anybody help and tell me how I can go about getting users/:user_id/details to work the way I want it to and display the details of :user_id?   • magento override sort order of product list by subcategories

    I'm setting up a new store using 1.4.1 I'm trying sort the products in the list by the subcategories they belong to. At the top of list.phtml is $_productCollection=$this->getLoadedProductCollection(); I tried adding sort filters to that by adding the line $_productCollection->setOrder('category_ids', 'asc')->setOrder('name', 'asc'); I also tried addAttributeToSort instead of setOrder. This doesn't seem to have any effect. I'm guessing that $_productCollection is not a model I can sort in this manner. I have been digging around trying to find the correct place to apply the sort method without any success. Can someone tell me the proper place to do this?

    In mongojs, when you do: var birds = db.birds.find(searchTerm, callback); ...how do you pass arguments to the callback? I've tried bind, as in: birds = db.birds.find(searchTerm, app.get('getBirds').bind(res)); ...but to no avail. Just fyi I'm trying to pass the response object of the GET route so that the callback can render using res.send(results). The other option is to set app.set('res': res); and call app.get('res') from the callback - I'm not sure this is a good idea. It works, but it doesn't obey the events loop model too well - I think the request back to the app may be costly? Any help would be gratefully accepted. :)

So something like this: function callback($pause, $arg) { sleep($pause); echo $arg, "\n"; } header('Content-Type: text/plain'); fast_call_user_func_array('callback', array(3, 'three')); fast_call_user_func_array('callback', array(2, 'two')); fast_call_user_func_array('callback', array(1, 'one')); would output one (after 1 second) two (after 2 seconds) three (after 3 seconds) rather than three (after 3 seconds) two (after 3 + 2 = 5 seconds) one (after 3 + 2 + 1 = 6 seconds) Main script is intended to be run as a permanent process (TCP server). callback() function would receive data from client, execute external PHP script and then do something based on other arguments that are passed to callback(). The problem is that main script must not wait for external PHP script to finish. Result of external script is important, so exec('php -f file.php &') is not an option.

My idea is to use a multimethod, but I'm not sure exactly how to detect a function. I want to do this: (defmulti indexes-of ???) (defmethod indexes-of ??? [v s] ;; v is a function (map first (filter v (zipmap (range) s)))) (defmethod indexes-of ??? [v s] ;; v is not a function (indexes-of #(= v %) s)) Is a multimethod the way to go here?   • Scala return type for tuple-functions

    Hello Guys, I want to make a scala function which returns a scala tuple. I can do a function like this: def foo = (1,"hello","world") and this will work fine, but now I want to tell the compiler what I expect to be returned from the function instead of using the built in type inference (after all, I have no idea what a (1,"hello","world") is) I thought I remembered the classname being something like Tuple3[Int,String,String] but that doesnt work for me. Suggestions? :D (ps: I love stack overflow!)
