    I am writing a download manager for iPhone using objective C. I am using ASIHTTP framework and its working great. But my problem is I am not able to download from file sharing sites like filesonic, rapidshare, hotfile etc. I want to know how can I get download (actual download) url from these sites, or at least how these sites are hiding this info (and where), so I can get that somehow... Is there any open source library or framework to help me with this? How firefox or other desktop browser get this link? Any help will be much appreciated! Update 1 : I don't want to bypass their advertising and revenue streams. Almost all file sharing companies also provide free downloads with low bandwidth, I only want to use that service. there are many download managers available now for iPhone like - "Downloads Lite". I just want to build a similar functionality.

  • I can't send gps values via the eclipse emulator control panel

    I try to send gps longitude and latitude to the android emulator with eclipse, but the values seem to never be set. Instead the onStatusChanged method of my listener is called. Edit I send those values through the emulator controls in the ddms view in eclipse. If I send data via telnet I get the correct data shown and the onLocationChanged method of my listener is changed.

  • iOS 5 - Coredata Sqlite DB losing data after killing app

    I'm using coredata with a sqlite DB to persist data in my app. However, each time I kill my app I lose any data that was saved in the DB. I'm pretty sure its because the .sqlite file for my DB is just being replaced by a fresh one each time my app starts, but I can't seem to find any code that will just use the existing one thats there. It would be great if anyone could point me towards some code that could handle this for me. The straightforward method would be: a) Point data source to my ViewController b) Define an array c) Allocate the array in my ViewController and init (arrayWithObjects) it with the strings from localized resources (NSLocalizedString) d) Use this array in UITableViewDataSource delegated methods Mainly my concern is item b). The construction looks quite heavy and I wonder whether I can somehow specify and load whole list of localized string at once.

    I am developing and tableView in which in each row I have to display the click counter and row number.Each cell must have an initial click counter value of 0 when application is initialized. Then increment the click counter value within a cell whenever a user clicks on the cell. I have take 26 fixed rows. I have taken tableData.plist file as in the attached image. I am initializing the self.dataArray with the plist .     I want to get a pointer reference to UIKeyboard *keyboard to the keyboard on screen so that I can add a transparent subview to it, covering it completely, to achieve the effect of disabling the UIKeyboard without hiding it. In doing this, can I assume that there's only one UIKeyboard on the screen at a time? I.e., is it a singleton? Where's the method [UIKeyboard sharedInstance]. Brownie points if you implement that method via a category. Or, even more brownie points if you convince me why it's a bad idea to assume only one keyboard and give me a better solution.

  • iOS - Passing variable to view controller

    I have a view with a view controller and when I show this view on screen, I want to be able to pass variables to it from the calling class, so that I can set the values of labels etc. First, I just tried creating a property for one of the labels, and calling that from the calling class. For example: SetTeamsViewController *vc = [[SetTeamsViewController alloc] init]; vc.myLabel.text = self.teamCount; [self presentModalViewController:vc animated:YES]; [vc release]; However, this didn't work. So I tried creating a convenience initializer. SetTeamsViewController *vc = [[SetTeamsViewController alloc] initWithTeamCount:self.teamCount]; And then in the SetTeamsViewController I had - (id)initWithTeamCount:(int)teamCount { self = [super initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil]; if (self) { // Custom initialization self.teamCountLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d",teamCount]; } return self; } However, this didn't work either. It's just loading whatever value I've given the label in the nib file. I've littered the code with NSLog()s and it is passing the correct variable values around, it's just not setting the label. Any help would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: I've just tried setting an instance variable in my designated initializer, and then setting the label in viewDidLoad and that works! Is this the best way to do this? Also, when dismissing this modal view controller, I update the text of a button in the view of the calling ViewController too. However, if I press this button again (to show the modal view again) whilst the other view is animating on screen, the button temporarily has it's original value again (from the nib). Does anyone know why this is?

    I have a ListView that is populated using an XML file. However, I want each item, when clicked, to start a new Activity related to that item. I understand how to use OnItemClick to start a Toast that shows the selected item's text. However, since the ListView is populated from an XML there is not a specific Id for each item in the list. So, how would I associate an Activity with each item in the ListView when the items do not have Ids?

    I have a MainViewController which has a button which pushes a new view (InfoViewController), via flip horizontailly. like so: controller.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleFlipHorizontal; [self presentModalViewController:controller animated:YES]; The MainView Controller supports Portrait and PortraitUpsideDown. Like so: - (BOOL)shouldAutorotate { return YES; } - (NSUInteger)supportedInterfaceOrientations { return (UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortrait | UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortraitUpsideDown); } In my InfoViewController it also states the above code. In my AppDelegate it has this in the LaunchOptions: [self.window setRootViewController:self.mainViewController]; In my app.plist file it supports all orientations. This is because other views need to support landscape as well. So On my MainViewController and InfoViewController I need only Portrait and PortraitUpsideDown. But on another view I need all orintations. My MainViewController works fine, but my InfoViewController is working for all orientations. I am having extreme diffulty trying to get this to work in iOS6. I have researched other posts and tried the assistance other people have provided, but had no luck whatsoever. Please can someone help me acheive this thank you. And I'm a Objective-C newbie :p

Not sure why. `objectLoader:didFailWithError:]:` unrecognized selector `sent to class 0x123608` How did i find out what is 0x123608?     I would like to build a simple reader app for the iPad 2 that would allow users to navigate/read via voice controls. The app would allow the user to enter a mode where the microphone was live and listened for predefined keywords like 'down', 'up', 'next', 'back', 'home', etc. I don't want to reinvent the wheel on this so I'm just wondering first, if someone has done this already and if not, are there any good tutorials or SDKs available to help with recording someone's voice, and then comparing future output to see if it matches, or just dealing with the microphone in general?

    I have Activity with ListView inside it and in the onCreate method of the Activity I have code for populating the Data of the ListView this Data is a server based and so populating includes calling Network URLs. I have the ArrayAdapter of the ListView in the Same Activity Class. Now the Issue I'am facing is that, in Rest all scenarios my Activity is behaving in a proper way but when the Orientation [ Portrait to Landscaped or other way round] is taking place the Data is Getting lost and Newer Data calls are Required to Populate the Same Old Data now this is something that is not intended out the code how should I deal with it.

I then want to push a Modal View Controller over the top so that a modal view covers up the WebView temporarily...     I am getting an image from gallery in onActivityResult() through intent.getdata(). Now i get the data and set it to a bitmap, its size is 716x716 and its setting to full screen. (ImageView's width and height is set to wrap content). Now i created another bitmap after scaling the original through Bitmap.CreateScaledBitmap(orgBitmap,30,30,false); After this, i make sure these things(width,height n size) and they happen as they should be but the problem is that the image is still taking the full screen... rather it should only take 30dp x 30dp. Anyone have an idea what might be the problem??? Thanx
