• ExecutionEngineException thrown when loading native dll

  I have a 32-bit .net application that uses a native 32-bit DLL via DllImport(). The native DLL is our internal file analysis library, and I need to use it as porting it to C# would be a problem if people update it (other software uses it). The problem is that when I try to execute any method in the native DLL I get a System.ExecutionEngineException thrown. In fact, I've reduced the managed application to a simple tester that just calls a native method, but it still fails. I am on 64-bit Windows 7, but that should not matter as I'm compiling everything as 32-bit binaries. What is also interesting, when I look at the native DLL in the Dependency Walker, it shows that it can't find msvcr90.dll - but when I open any other of our native DLLs in the Dependency Walker, it can find their referenced msvcr90.dll just fine. Can there by some wrongness in the compilation of native DLL that messes up its DLL references?

  Let's says I have a classifieds site which has a URL structure similar to the one which I have listed below: Ex. http://takarat.com/openclassifieds/?category=iphone&location=tennessee This is what shows up when I click "tennessee" as the location and then click on "iphone" as the category. Now let's say this site has a search box and I wanted a URL which comes up after using this search box to show up as opposed to the previous URL. Let's say that whenever I search for the word "iphone" while WITHIN the iphone CATEGORY the following link shows up: Iphone SEARCH Ex. http://takarat.com/openclassifieds/?s=iphone&category=iphone&location=tennessee Ok, I want THAT iphone SEARCH to come up whenever anyone clicks Tennessee Iphone..How would I do this [by the way, I want this to be dynamic so that I can use the code for different combinations of locations and products etc..I want the code to use the CATEGORY name to conduct the search basically]? I believe that this will involve "Passing varibles" from the original link... I am new to programming so I may have my terminology wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. • Including variables inside curly braces in a Zend config ini file on Linux

  I am trying to include a variable in a .ini file setting by surrounding it with curly braces, and Zend is complaining that it cannot parse it properly on Linux. It works properly on Windows, though: welcome_message = Welcome, {0}. • Loading a UIDatePicker in Landscape on a UINavigationController

  I have a custom UINavigationController that supports auto-rotate. I also have a UIDatePicker on one of my views that I throw onto the stack of the Navigation controller. The auto-rotate works if I start the date picker view in portrait and then rotate it. If I try load the date picker view in landscape to begin with, the view is all messed up. It looks like it would if it didn't support rotation and the frame only has about half of the picker visible and off center. I've tried making my own date picker that supports auto-rotate in case that was the problem, I've tried creating two different views and swapping them out, and I've tried changing the view frame size on the ViewWillAppear method. None of them seem to be working for me as of yet. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the date picker to show up in landscape correctly on a navigation controller? I probably am overlooking something simple and the answer is right in front of me, but I'm not finding it.

• Android Loading listview items from service results in hang

  Hello, In my Android application, I have a ListActivity. This ListActivity uses a SimpleAdapter that I fill with items from my service. So, in my code, I do: MySuperCoolService.Binder serviceBinder = null; private ServiceConnection serviceConnection = new ServiceConnection() { public void onServiceConnected(ComponentName className, IBinder service) { Log.d(TAG, "Service connection: connected!"); serviceBinder = (MySuperCoolService.Binder)service; } public void onServiceDisconnected(ComponentName className) { Log.d(TAG, "Service connection: disconnected"); serviceBinder = null; } }; bindService(new Intent(this, MySuperCoolService.class), serviceConnection, BIND_AUTO_CREATE); while(serviceBinder==null) { Thread.Sleep(1000); } // now retrieve from service using binder and set list adapter This whole operation takes hardly any time (less than a second), so I want it to run in the UI thread. See my onCreate: public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); fillDataUsingCodeAbove(); } The reason I want this to run in the UI thread is that if you have a list item selected, or you have scrolled to a certain position in the ListView, and you rotate the device or take out the keyboard or something (to trigger a configuration change) when my activity is restarted, Android will try to restore the state right after onCreate. But, if I run it in a separate thread, it will not. Also there is a cool fadein animation too :) The problem I am having with running it in the UI thread is that when I try to bind to the service, that service bind request gets put onto the message queue. But then when I go into my loop, I stop the message queue from looping. So my program hangs, because it's waiting for the service to get bound, and the service won't get bound until the loop ends. I have thought of putting Looper.loop() inside my loop, but that just hangs it at Looper.loop() (I don't know why.) Sorry for such a long question, Isaac Waller

I can define InArgument inside all these custom activities and bind the workflow arguments to custom activity arguments but I am not comfortable with this solution. What is the best way to access workflow level argument and variable declarations from custom activities. Can I get them from ActivityContext? Thanks.

• iPhone SDK: loading UITableView from SQLite

  Hi, I think I got a good handle on UITableViews and on getting/inserting data from/to SQLite db. I am straggling with an architectural question. My application saves 3 values int the database, there can be many/many rows. However would I load them in the table? From all the tutorials I have seen, at one point entire database is loaded in the NSMutableArray or similar object via performing SELECT statement. Then when -(UITableViewCell *) tableView: (UITableView *) tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath: (NSIndexPath *) indexPath called, rows required are dolled out from the previous loaded NSMutableArray (or similar stracture). But what i have have thousands for rows? Why would I pre-load them? Should I just query database each time cellForRowAtIndexPath is called? If so, what would I use as an index? Each row in the table will have an AUTOINCREMENT index, but since some rows may be deleted index will not correspond to rows in the table (in the SQL I may have something like this with row with index 3 missing): 1 Data1 Data1 2 Data2 Data2 4. data3 data3 Thanks

• DDMS plugin not loading GPX files

  I am unable to load a GPX file in the DDMS eclipse plugin. When specifying a GPX file, no points are added to the emulator control list. I have tried adding KML files as well, generated in Google earth. Is there a way to get these files to work?   I am writing a payments system based around paypal, I am using the HTML 'API'. I am passing the following form fields to PayPal: 'rm' = 2 'return = http://www.example.com/payment-handler.php?token=sometoken Where 'token' is a token I generated. According to the paypal documentation, a return method (rm) of 2 indicates to Paypal that the transaction data be posted back to the callback url using the POST method. When processing items using 'buy_now' buttons, the transaction items are correctly POSTed to my callback url (payment-handler.php), but for 'subscribe' operations, although the callback url is called, no POST data is sent to the url, and also, the 'token' field is missing. Instead, there is a parameter called 'auth'. I cant see anything in the paypal docs about a 'auth' field - so I dont know whats generating it and if I can reliably using it. Can anyone shed some light on this?

SetupVisibility() wants to show textbox and label, but then I get the error: Microsoft JScript - runtime error: Cannot update control with ID: ctl00_CPH1_lblTest. The control does not exist. Where is the problem?

• Objective-C memory leak in loading remote content

  I try to load a plist file from my server. I can think of 2 ways to do that, but for both Instruments says there's huge memory leak : NSData* plistData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:url]; and NSDictionary* updateDigest = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithContentsOfURL: [NSURL URLWithString:updateURL] ]; The backtrace of the memory leak leads to __CFURLCache in CFNetwork and I am wondering if something can be done to fix the leak? Any other way to load a remote plist xml, without the memory leakage ? Thanks

Now I have to play those same mp3's in flex but I am not sure how... • Debug Symbols not loading

  I am trying to enable visual studio to step through the .net framework source code when I am debugging. I have tried with both Visual Web-Developer-Express-2010 and Visual-Studio-2011-Express-For-Web and I am getting the same problem with each. When I get to the break point at the .net method I wish to step into I do right-clickstep-into-specificclick-method-to-step-into. Then VS opens a new tab. saying it couldn't find or load the symbols. It gives a list of the assembly symbols it looked for. There is also a 'Load Symbols hyperlink which doesn't work. And another hyperlink that takes me to the debug settings dialog. I have read tutorials on how to set it up and have believe I have the correct settings. In the debugging general settings I have - enable address-level debugging - checked enable source server support - checked enable .net framework source stepping - checked enable just my code - not checked In the debugging symbol settings I have - symbol file (.pdb) locations - Microsoft Symbol Servers - checked Caching Directory - C:\Users\MyAccount\AppData\Local\Temp\SymbolCache Automatically load symbols for: all modules unless excluded - checked Why is it not working? • Dynamically loading database schema information in .NET

  I am building a .NET application that given a connection string, at run time, needs to be able to retrieve information from the corresponding database schema, such as available columns, datatypes, and whether they are nullable.
