  • Apache Not Accepting a Path in My Home Folder

    I have trying to set up an Apache site to use a folder in my home folder without any success. I exactly followed the steps in this page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ApacheMySQLPHP yet I did not succeed; I keep getting error 403, which says that the server doesn't have permission to access the requested page. I searched forums and many suggested changing the permission of the folder. I went straight away and set the permission to 777, but that didn't solve the problem. I made another search and somebody gave me a clue, which is that it could be because my home folder is encrypted. I believe this could be the problem, but: What is the relation between encryption and Apache? I suppose Apache server is requesting the file from the system, rather than trying to access the file bytes! Is there anyway to solve this problem? I don't want to move the folder to /var/www because I am using this Apache for testing, so I want whatever change I make to be immediately reflected, rather than having to copy files which is error prone.

  • Access SDExplorer (System Folder) from my C# app

    Hello everyone I am trying out Windows Live SkyDrive, and I installed SDExplorer (http://www.cloudstorageexplorer.com/) It works by adding my SkyDrive folder to Windows Explorer, but it does not get a drive name or anything, so how can I access that drive/folder from my C# application? When I go into the folder and look at the address bar it says "Computer\SDExplorer". Directory.GetDirectories(@"\Computer\SDExplorer") does not work, because it translates to "C:\Computer\SDExplorer". I would like to be able to create a small application that can create folders and upload files to my SkyDrive account. Anybody know how these special folder/drives work? - I noticed MozyHome appears in the same way in my Windows Explorer.

    I have been having some issues with explorer.exe hanging when I create a new folder. If I use Analyse Wait Chain in the Resource Monitor it says "One or more threads of explorer.exe are waiting to finish network I/O". So I decided to try and user TraceView.exe to try and listen in on the explorer.exe traces. The problem is TraceView requires some difficult-to-come-by stuff... either pdbs, or CTL files, and .TMF files. I tried using the explorer.pdb that comes with the Windows SDK but that did not work. I do not see explorer.exe in the "named providers". And I have no idea where to locate the ctl or .TMF files for explorer.exe. So the question is: Is there a way to view the ETW trace messages from explorer? Or shall I just not bother and go back to the age old technique of disabling every explorer extenion one-by-one in the hope its one of them. (Prefer the former as I like to get to the bottom of things!!)

    I have a remote share in windows 7 and accessing the same share from windows 2008.     I have a folder which contains a certain number of files which have hard links (in the same folder or somewhere else), and I want to de-hardlink these files, so they become independant, and changes to their contents won't affect any other file (their link count becomes 1). Below, I give a solution which basically copies each hard link to another location, then move it back in place. However this method seems rather crude and error-prone, so I'd like to know if there is some command which will de-hardlink a file for me. Crude answer : Find files which have hard links (Edit: To also find sockets, etc. that have hardlinks, use find -not -type d -links +1) : find -type f -links +1 A crude method to de-hardlink a file (copy it to another location, and move it back) : Edit: As Celada said, it's best to do a cp -p below, to avoid loosing timestamps and permissions. Edit: Create a temporary directory and copy to a file under it, instead of overwriting a temp file, it minimizes the risk to overwrite some data, though the mv command is still risky (thanks @Tobu). # This is unhardlink.sh set -e for i in "$@"; do temp="$(mktemp -d ./hardlnk-XXXXXXXX)" [ -e "$temp" ] && cp -ip "$i" "$temp/tempcopy" && mv "$temp/tempcopy" "$i" && rmdir "$temp" done So, to un-hardlink all hard links (Edit: changed -type f to -not -type d, see above) : find -not -type d -links +1 -print0 | xargs -0 unhardlink.sh

    I'm trying to make a Live Folder with URIs. The intent I set to the Live Folder items is an Intent{Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse(url)}. I have verified url is indeed http://www.google.com (for testing purposes). But when I click the item in the live folder I get an error message: "Application is not installed on your phone." I do not understand why ffmpeg is not concatenating. Any help is dramatically appreciated,

    Background: I've a folder that gets pumped with files continuously. My SSIS package needs to process the files and delete them. The SSIS package is scheduled to run once every minute. I'm picking up the files in ascending order of file creation time. I'm building an array of files and then processing-deleting them one at a time. Problem: If an instance of my package takes longer than one minute to run, the next instance of the SSIS package will pick up some of the files the previous instance has in its buffer. By the time the second instance of teh package gets around to processing a file, it may already have been deleted by the first instance, creating an exception condition. I was wondering whether there was a way to avoid the exception condition. Thanks.

    I have checked out articles and tutorials. I don't know what to do about the security of my picture upload-folder. It is pictures for classifieds which should be uploaded to the folder. This is what I want: Anybody may upload images to the folder. The images will be moved to another folder, by another php-code later on (automatic). Only I may manually remove them, as well as another php file on the server which automatically empties the folder after x-days. What should I do here? The images are uploaded via a php-upload script. This script checks to see if the extension of the file is actually a valid image-file. When I try this: chmod 755 images the images wont be uploaded. But like this it works: chmod 777 images But 777 is a security risk right? Please give me detailed information... The Q is, what to do to solve this problem, not info about what permissions there are etc etc... Thanks If you need more info let me know...

What I do have are empty files, which are eventually zipped. so does the notifempty directive is in fact responsible for these DayX-DayY files, days on which really nothing happened? what would be an efficient way to drop both, empty log files and their .gz files, so that I eventually only keep logs/compressed files that truly contain data?
