  • wildcards to use in codeigniter routing?

    - by ajsie
in codeigniter you can use wildcard to reroute. i never heard the word wildcards before. is this a set of rules you can use like regexp? cause in codeigniter documentation they just gave some examples eg. $route['product/(:num)'] = "catalog/product_lookup_by_id/$1"; is there a list/reference with all the available wildcard expressions you can use?

  • How to test if a gawk string contain a number?

    - by Tim Menzies
In gawk I know two ways to test if a string contains a number. Which is best? Method one: using regular expressions: function method1(x) { return x ~ /^[+-]?([0-9]+[.]?[0-9]*|[.][0-9]+)([eE][+-]?[0-9]+)?$/ } Method two: the coercion trick (simpler): function method2(x) { return (x != "") && (x+0 == x) } Is there any reason to favor the more complex method1 over the simpler method2?

  • Scheme define/lambda shorthand

    - by incrediman
In Scheme, how can I make use of the define/lambda shorthand for nested lambda expressions within my define? For example given the following procedure... (define add (lambda (num1 num2) (+ num1 num2))) One can shorten it to this: (define (add num1 num2) (+ num1 num2)) However, how can I shorten the following function similarly ? (define makeOperator (lambda (operator) (lambda (num1 num2) (operator num1 num2)))) ;example useage - equivalent to (* 3 4): ((makeOperator *) 3 4)

  • SED: Matching on 2 patterns on the same line

    - by Brian Knott
Hi I want to delete a line using sed if it matches 2 regular expressions in the same line. EG the line starts with /* and end with */ (comment). The following script will do most of that. sed -e '/^\/*/ d' -e '/*\/$/ d' filename This script will remove all lines that start with * and end with */. I want it to remove the line only if is meets both criteria not one.

  • Parse HTML with CSS or XPath selectors?

    - by ovolko
My goal is to parse HTML with lxml, which supports both XPath and CSS selectors. I can tie my model properties either to CSS or XPath, but I'm not sure which one would be the best, e.g. less fuss when HTML layout is changed, simpler expressions, greater extraction speed. What would you choose in such a situation?

  • PHP Application check name is unique if not append

    - by user270797
My application requires the user to enter their business name, which the application will automatically create into a unique identifier to be used in URLs, ie "Bob's Cafe" will become "bobs-cafe" But if there are duplicate names I would like the application to add a number so if there is already a "bobs-cafe" we will use "bobs-cafe-1" and likewise if there is already a "bobs-cafe-1" we will use "bobs-cafe-2" Ive used explode and also looked at a regular expressions but I dont know the best way to approach this. Im stuck in being able to grab the number and incrementing it and returning the string

  • Can you reverse order a string in one line with LINQ or a LAMBDA expression

    - by Student for Life
Not that I would want to use this practically (for many reasons) but out of strict curiousity I would like to know if there is a way to reverse order a string using LINQ and/or LAMBDA expressions in one line of code, without utilising any framework "Reverse" methods. e.g. string value = "reverse me"; string reversedValue = (....); and reversedValue will result in "em esrever" EDIT Clearly an impractical problem/solution I know this, so don't worry it's strictly a curiosity question around the LINQ/LAMBDA construct.

  • Parsing language for both binary and character files

    - by Thorsten S.
The problem: You have some data and your program needs specified input. For example strings which are numbers. You are searching for a way to transform the original data in a format you need. And the problem is: The source can be anything. It can be XML, property lists, binary which contains the needed data deeply embedded in binary junk. And your output format may vary also: It can be number strings, float, doubles.... You don't want to program. You want routines which gives you commands capable to transform the data in a form you wish. Surely it contains regular expressions, but it is very good designed and it offers capabilities which are sometimes much more easier and more powerful. Something like a super-grep which you can access (!) as program routines, not only as tool. It allows: joining/grouping/merging of results inserting/deleting/finding/replacing write macros which allows to execute a command chain repeatedly meta-grouping (lists-tables-hypertables) Example (No, I am not looking for a solution to this, it is just an example): You want to read xml strings embedded in a binary file with variable length records. Your tool reads the record length and deletes the junk surrounding your text. Now it splits open the xml and extracts the strings. Being Indian number glyphs and containing decimal commas instead of decimal points, your tool transforms it into ASCII and replaces commas with points. Now the results must be stored into matrices of variable length....etc. etc. I am searching for a good language / language-design and if possible, an implementation. Which design do you like or even, if it does not fulfill the conditions, wouldn't you want to miss ? EDIT: The question is if a solution for the problem exists and if yes, which implementations are available. You DO NOT implement your own sorting algorithm if Quicksort, Mergesort and Heapsort is available. You DO NOT invent your own text parsing method if you have regular expressions. You DO NOT invent your own 3D language for graphics if OpenGL/Direct3D is available. There are existing solutions or at least papers describing the problem and giving suggestions. And there are people who may have worked and experienced such problems and who can give ideas and suggestions. The idea that this problem is totally new and I should work out and implement it myself without background knowledge seems for me, I must admit, totally off the mark.

  • Choosing the MVC view engine

    - by leonard
I want to allow the end-users of my web application to modify views (via web based back office), stored in the database. The desired view engine is expected to be code-injection safe, meaning that the end-user will be limited to the absolute minimum number of expressions available, no server code inserts are allowed. Is any suitable view engine available to download?

  • Create and populate two-dimensional array in Scala

    - by ~asteinlein
What's the recommended way of creating a pre-populated two-dimensional array in Scala? I've got the following code: val map = for { x <- (1 to size).toList } yield for { y <- (1 to size).toList } yield (x, y) How do I make an array instead of list? Replacing .toList with .toArray doesn't compile. And is there a more concise or readable way of doing this than the nested for expressions?

  • C array assignment and indexing with similar variable.

    - by Todd R.
Hello! I apologize if this has been posted before. Compiling under two separate compilers, BCC 5.5 and LCC, yields 0 and 1. #include <stdio.h> int main(void) { int i = 0, array[2] = {0, 0}; array[i] = ++i; printf("%d\n", array[1]); } Am I to assume not all compilers evaluate expressions within an array from right to left?

  • Translate C# code into AST?

    - by Erik Forbes
Is it currently possible to translate C# code into an Abstract Syntax Tree? Edit: some clarification; I don't necessarily expect the compiler to generate the AST for me - a parser would be fine, although I'd like to use something "official." Lambda expressions are unfortunately not going to be sufficient given they don't allow me to use statement bodies, which is what I'm looking for.

  • Built-in precedence for Expression Trees?

    - by jdk
I'm unable to find the .NET FCL built-in concept of precedence to leverage while constructing Expression Trees. Ref System.Linq.Expressions Namespace. Is this something that must be handled manually in code, or is it somehow implicit and I'm not recognizing it, maybe through helper methods or classes? I want to apply it to math operations to ensure 3 + 5 * 10 results in 53 instead of 80.

  • spring security filter-chain regex pattern

    - by lewap
In my application which uses spring security I want to define two different areas both using their own spring security filter-chain. My question is: is it possible to define two regex expressions as follows: every path starting with /foobar/* every other path not starting with /foobar The important part here is that the second path should also match if somewhere within it, but not in the beginning, it cotains the /foobar/ string. Thanks

  • Watchpoints w/xDebug in Eclipse PDT?

    - by continuum
Has anyone gotten watchpoints to work when debugging PHP with xDebug and Eclipse? The way I understand it, I'm supposed to be able to select a watched variable in the expressions view or select a variable in the Variables view during debugging, and then select Run-Toggle Watchpoint. But Toggle Watchpoint is constantly greyed out. All my other debugging functions work fine: breakpoints, step in, out, over, etc. Just can't get a watchpoint working.

  • Stored Functions with Linq to Entities

    - by Lawnmower
Hi, How can I make a MS-SQL stored function availabe in LINQ expressions if using the Entity framework? The SQL function was created with CREATE FUNCTION MyFunction(@name) ...). I was hoping to access it similarly to this: var data = from c in entities.Users where MyFunction(c.name) = 3; Unfortunately I have only .NET 3.5 available.

  • Extract information from javascript counter via PHP

    - by Jennifer Weinberg
Hi, I'm looking for a way to extract some information from this site via PHP: http://www.mycitydeal.co.uk/deals/london There ist a counter where the time left is displayed, but the information is within the JavaScript. Since I'm really a JavaScript rookie, I didn't really know how to get the information. Normally I would extract the information with "preg_match" and some regular expressions. Can someone help me to extract the information (Hrs., Min., Sec.) ? Jennifer

  • Am I right in thinking there is no way to put an if statement and an else statement on line in Python?

    - by Louise
Am I right in thinking I can't put an if-statement and the corresponding else-statement on one line in Python? NB: variable = value1 if condition else value2 is NOT two statements. It's one statement which can take the value of one of two expressions. I want to do something like if condition a=value else b=value Am I right in thinking this requires a full if-else in Python? Like if condition: a=value else: b=value Thanks, Louise
