• How to recognize the touch of a non regular sprite image ?

  I have a sprite and if it is touched the touch should be recognized. I used the coordinates to do so. I took the coordinates (min x, min y, max x , max y)of the sprite image. But The sprite image is not a rectangular shape. So, even if I touch the coordinates outside the sprite and inside the rectangular bounds the sprite is recognized. But for my application I need only the sprite to be recognized. So, I have to take only the coordinates of the sprite, but it is not regular shape. I am using CCSprite in my program. So, what can I do to for only the sprite to be selected ? Which classes should use for this? Thank You.

• ListBox selector odd behavior when there are dupes

When I start the application I get 3 txt.Info objects displayed and if I click any of them, 2 or even all of them get selected aswell. From my understanding the problem relies in the fact that the listbox selector cannot differentiate between the items and therefor doesn't know which one I selected. Here's a picture of what it looks like.. I only clicked on the second txt.Info item. I found a solution where someone said that I have to specify the DisplayMemberPath, but I can't really do that in the other project because I have a datatemplate for the object. Any ideas on how I could fix this would be great.. Thx in advance.

  Hi All, This might be a duplicate entry. Excuse me if it is. I was asked in an interview as to how does Windows OS differentiate between regular exe and .Net exe. My reply was, when .Net exe is build, the compiler emits some information into the header. The information is PE32 or PE32+. windows verifies the header to determine if it needs to load the MSCOREE.dll which loads the CLR and executes the exe. I am not sure if my answer is correct ?   I have a program where the user will enter a string such as PropertyA = "abc_*" and I need to have the asterisk match any character. In my code, I'm grabbing the property value and replacing PropertyA with the actual value. For instance, it could be abc_123. I also pull out the equality symbol into a variable. • Regular Expression; Find whether a line contains any word with more than X characters.

  Hi, I am trying to use a Validator on a ASP.NET site and need to find whether the Street Address textbox contains a valid entry. Entries with words that are longer than X characters (in this case 25, with no punctuation or spaces) will cause the HTML on a printed A4 page to not wrap properly and therefore not to confrom to certain sizes correctly pushing the margins off. For a street address I want to match that something like "201 Long Road" is valid but "235 ReallyLongAndNarrowWindingRoadBesideTheRiver Street" is invalid. Using a Microsoft .Net Regular Expression Validator I need to know what the RegEx pattern might be. I think if it does find a match the Validator will fire correctly however if there is no match the Validator won't fire and the Update button (in this case) won't fire. Since Street addresses can contain Capital Letters and numbers etc. it will need to accomodate for that and also Spaces, Commas, Semi-Colons and Colons and Hyphens are valid characters too. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am really stuck with this problem. Thanks, David

  I'm trying to formulate a regular expression which will recognise the search term truncated by any number of characters from the right. For example, if the search term is "pickle", the regex should recognise "pi", "pick" but not "pickaxe". Initially I came up with the following: p(i(c(k(l(e)?)?)?)?)? That works perfectly, but seems a crude way of doing it. Is there a better way of doing this? I had a look around for something similar to what I want, but I'm not entirely sure what to search for.

  I wrote a regular expression to get the size from a CSS property: /(([+-]?\d*\.?\d+(\s)*(px|em|ex|pt|in|pc|mm|cm)?)|thin|medium|thick)(\s|;|$)/i but for some reason its not working as intended. For example, when I run the following: preg_match_all('/(([+-]?\d*\.?\d+(\s)*(px|em|ex|pt|in|pc|mm|cm)?)|thin|medium|thick)(\s|;|$)/i', "border-bottom:1px solid #99999;", $matches); It outputs: 1px 99999; But I only want the 1px value returned. I understand why its returning the above but can't seem to figure out how to only return the size and not the color value. I tried using the following negative lookbehind but it's not working either: /(((?<!#\d{3}|#\d{6})[+-]?\d*\.?\d+(\s)*(px|em|ex|pt|in|pc|mm|cm)?)|thin|medium|thick)(\s|;|$)/i I want to use preg_match_all for those CSS properties that can have multiple size values (i.e. margin).   Im trying to make a script that will go into a directory and run my own application with each file matching a regular expression, specifically "Test[0-9]*.txt". My input filenames look like this "TestXX.txt". Now, I could just use cut and chop off the Test and .txt, but how would I do this if XX wasn't predefined to be 2 numbers? What would I do if i had "Test1.txt" ... "Test10.txt"? In other words, How would I get the [0-9]* part? Just so you know, I want to be able to make a OutputXX.txt :)

The substrings that start with '+[0-9]' followed by '[A-z]{n}.' need to be replaced with simply '+' where the variable n is the digit from earlier in the substring. Can that n be back referenced? On a side note, is there a site that has an exhaustive list of all characters that would need to be escaped in the regex (those that have special meaning - eg. $, ^, etc.)? As always, TIA. • Ubuntu missing from the Grub menu

  Recently I've had some audio issues with Ubuntu (using precise), and in the process of trying to resolve that I ran a dist-upgrade. Everything went just fine, and the sound seemed good, until I rebooted my machine for the first time since the dist-upgrade. All I see now in the Grub menu at startup is memtest86+, another memtest variant, and Windows 7. It's not showing any of the linux kernels that Ubuntu is running on. We do not have physical or virtual access to the server console - no KVM, no iLO or anything like this. So, the only way to debug is to analyze crash dumps/log files. I am not a SmartOS/Solaris expert so I am not sure how to proceed. Is there any equivalent of Linux netconsole for SmartOS? Can I just redirect the console output to the network port somehow? Maybe I am missing something obvious and crash information is located somewhere else.

  At this moment, ever since I installed Ubuntu on this machine, the battery status says: not present. Looking at this answer, however, I find that /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/info (sometimes its /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info, use tab complete to help) has the following info: present: yes design capacity: 4400 mAh last full capacity: 4400 mAh battery technology: rechargeable design voltage: 11100 mV design capacity warning: 300 mAh design capacity low: 132 mAh cycle count: 0 capacity granularity 1: 32 mAh capacity granularity 2: 32 mAh model number: BAT1 serial number: 11 battery type: 11 OEM info: 11 In accordance to this answer, I've checked the /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state file: present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: charged present rate: unknown remaining capacity: unknown present voltage: 10000 mV The acpi -b command returns: Battery 0: Unknown, 0%, rate information unavailable Any suggestions on getting the battery info updated?

• C socket programming: select() is returning 0 despite messages sent from server

  Hey all, I'm using select() to recv() messages from server, using TCP/IP. When I send() messages from the server, it returns a reasonable number of bytes, saying it's sent successful. And it does get to the client successfully when I use while loop to just recv(). Everything is fine and dandy. while(1) recv() // obviously pseudocode However, when I try to use select(), select() returns 0 from timeout (which is set to 1 second) and for the life of me I cannot figure out why it doesn't see the messages sent from the server. I should also mention that when the server disconnects, select() doesn't see that either, where as if I were to use recv(), it would return 0 to indicate that the connection using the socket has been closed. • Sonar maven integration
