  • Complex select query question for hardcore SQL designers

    Very complex query been trying to construct it for few days with more real success. I'm using SQL-SERVER 2005 Standard What i need is : 5 CampaignVariants from Campaigns whereas 2 are with the largest PPU number set and 3 are random. Next condition is that CampaignDailyBudget and CampaignTotalBudget are below what is set in Campaign ( calculation is number of clicks in Visitors table connected to Campaigns via CampaignVariants on which users click) Next condition CampaignLanguage, CampaignCategory, CampaignRegion and CampaignCountry must be the ones i send to this select with (languageID,categoryID,regionID and countryID). Next condition is that IP address i send to this select statement won't be in IPs list for current Campaign ( i delete inactive for 24 hours IPs ). In other words it gets 5 CampaignVariants for user that enters the site, when i take from user PublisherRegionUID,IP,Language,Country and Region view diagram

  • MySQL query pulling from two tables, display in correct fields

    I'm trying to select all fields in two separate tables as long as they're sharing a common ID. //mysql query $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM project, links WHERE project.id = links.id and project.id = $clientID") //displaying the link if ($row['url'] != null){ echo "<div class='clientsection' id='links'>Links</div>"; echo "<a class='clientlink' id='link1' href='" . $row['url'] . "'>" . $row['name'] . "</a>"; } else { echo "<a class='clientlink' id='link1' href='" . $row['url'] . "' style='display:none;'>" . $row['name'] . "</a>"; }; As you can see, my tables are "projects", and "links" Each is sharing a common field "id" for reference. It looks as though where both links.id and project.id are equal, it outputs anything, but when there is no links.id associated with a given $clientID the container relative to the $clientID doesn't display at all. Essentially I'm using this to add links dynamically to a specific client in this CMS and if there are no links, I want the container to show up anyway. Hopefully I've expressed myself clearly, any pointers in the right direction are appreciated. Thanks!

    So I have two tables students (PK sID) and mentors (PK pID). This query SELECT s.pID FROM students s JOIN mentors m ON s.pID = m.pID WHERE m.tags LIKE '%a%' ORDER BY s.sID DESC; delivers this result pID ------------- 9 9 3 9 3 9 9 9 10 9 3 10 etc... I am trying to get a list of distinct mentor ID's with this ordering so I am looking for the SQL to produce pID ------------- 9 3 10 If I simply insert a DISTINCT in the SELECT clause I get an unexpected result of 10, 9, 3 (wrong order). Any help much appreciated.

    How can I select all elements within an HTML document with a specific class and specific element type? I'm trying to select all anchors with the class title loggedin from an HTML document (and then open them within the browser). These are within parragraphs with the class title. They are leafs in the following DOM tree: + body + div class='content' + div id='siteTable' class='sitetable linklisting' + div class='thing id-t3_xxxx xxx xxx link' + div class='entry unvoted' + p class='title' + a class='title loggedin ' Where x indicates variable content. (I'm looking to do this in raw JavaScript, ie, not in jQuery.)

    There are 3 tables. Products, Options and Prod_Opts_relations. The latter holds product_id and option_id so i should be able to figure out which options are selected for any given product. Now i want to retrieve all options from the options table where the value of an extra alias field should hold checked or unchecked depending on the existance of a mathing record in the relations table for a give product id.     I have a table of names and addresses, which includes a postcode column. I want to strip the spaces from the postcodes and select any that match a particular pattern. I'm trying this (simplified a bit) in T-SQL on SQL Server 2005: SELECT Replace(Postcode, ' ', '') AS P FROM Contacts WHERE P LIKE 'NW101%' But I get the following error; Msg 207, Level 16, State 1, Line 3 Invalid column name 'P'. If I remove the WHERE clause I get a list of postcodes without spaces, which is what I want to search. How should I approach this? What am I doing wrong?

    This is my scenario I have an view(page) with list of items, a user could select single or multiple items from this page and click on a "Add to Group" button. Then a modal dialog(JQuery dialog) will be shown, from that he could select group, then press the add button. Which causes the items selected in the parent page is added to that particular group. So, which is the best way to pass the selected items to the modal pop-up? Though the query string ? - what happens if the no:of items selected is large, will the url support that much characters Keep the list in the parent page in a javascript variable and return the selected group from the modal pop-up?     I'm looking at output of SP_WhoIsActive on SQL Server 2005, and it's telling me one session is blocking another - fine. However they both are running a SELECT. How does one SELECT block another? Shouldn't they both be acquiring shared locks (which are compatible with one another)? Some more details: Neither session has an open transaction count - so they are stand-alone. The queries join a view with a table. They are complex queries which join lots of tables and results in 10,000 or so reads. Any insight much appreciated.

    I have a loop which basically calls this every few seconds (after the timeout): while(true){ if(finished) return; switch(select(FD_SETSIZE, &readfds, 0, 0, &tv)){ case SOCKET_ERROR : report bad stuff etc; return; default : break; } // do stuff with the incoming connection } So basically for every few seconds (which is specified by tv), it reactivates the listening. This is run on thread B (not a main thread). There are times when I want to end this acceptor loop immediately from thread A (main thread), but seems like I have to wait until the time interval finishes.. Is there a way to disrupt the select function from another thread so thread B can quit instantly?

  • C socket programming: recv / select not seeing sent messages

    Hey guys, I had some questions, about socket programming for client-server using TCP/IP. I am using select() to recv(), which works fine when client send() messages to server, but not the other way around. The send() returns positive (and reasonable) numbers of bytes sent by server but I know that the nubmer of bytes "sent" really means "sent out of the socket", not "sent and was received by the client." The select() function seems to work fine. So given that, my guess is that it's the send() function that is giving me the problem. Probably the address of client in send() is not correct. But when I compared address.sin_addr.s_addrmember (it's an unsigned long int) of struct sockaddr_in from recv() and send() of server, they are identical. So I am kind of lost as to what could be wrong?

    I want to display a few images (probably 5 max) and have a user click to select one. First thing I tried was radio buttons and putting the images inside labels. <input type="radio" name="BackgroundId" id="BackgroundId" value="1" /> <label for="BackgroundId"><img src="../../Content/images/thumb_1.jpg" /></label> Firefox will select the radio button when the user clicks the image, but IE doesn't. Is there a jquery plugin that will make the images clickable? Fancy-form looks like something I could use, but it isn't jquery and I've already got jquery in my project. Or can someone point me to a better way of selecting a single image?
