It's pretty hard to get in it's documentation, and I couldn't find explanation how to send email to a single subscriber instantly without having some triggering actions.     So I'm trying to write a simple TCP socket server that broadcasts information to all connected clients. So when a user connects, they get added to the list of clients, and when the stream emits the close event, they get removed from the client list. This works well, except that sometimes I'm sending a message just as a user disconnects. I've tried wrapping stream.write() in a try/catch block, but no luck. It seems like the error is uncatchable.

  • Does add() on LinkedBlockingQueue notify waiting threads?

    I have a consumer thread taking elements from a LinkedBlockingQueue, and I make it sleep manually when it's empty. I use peek() to see if the queue empty because I have to do stuff because sending the thread to sleep, and I do that with queue.wait(). So, when I'm in another thread and add()an element to the queue, does that automatically notify the thread that was wait()ing on the queue?

    I'm writing an application in C# that uses proxies. The proxies are sending the HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR during HTTP requests, and this is unwanted behavior. I am extending the Interop.SHDocVw axWebBrowser (aka Internet Explorer) control right now, but can take another approach if needed for this problem. Is there some way to suppress this header... can this be done in code, on the proxy server, or not at all?

  • Cannot set textbox value in Callback handler in asp.net

    I am using ASP.NET Callbacks (that implements the ICallbackEventHandler) and in the handler, I try to set a value of the text box: txtName.text = "Test"; but this value is not set. Is this a limitation with callback? It appears I cannot do much in a callback handler other than sending back a string to the client side (ofcourse I can access the Session etc)

  • youtube - video upload failure - unable to convert file - encoding the video wrong?

    I am using .NET to create a video uploading application. Although it's communicating with YouTube and uploading the file, the processing of that file fails. YouTube gives me the error message, "Upload failed (unable to convert video file)." This supposedly means that "your video is in a format that our converters don't recognize..." I have made attempts with two different videos, both of which upload and process fine when I do it manually. So I suspect that my code is a.) not encoding the video properly and/or b.) not sending my API request properly. Below is how I am constructing my API PUT request and encoding the video: Any suggestions on what the error could be would be appreciated. Thanks P.S.     Hi, I'm sending messages between 1 dll and another, effectively posting messages onto the dll input queue and receiving a messages back from the dll output queue. These two dlls are very tightly integrated. DLL 1 is a producer,and DLL2 is the consumer. I want to encrypt the messages before they are sent. What would be the best approach?   • Java Socket Connection is flooding network OR resulting in high ping

    i have a little problem with my java socket code. I'm writing an android client application which is sending data to a java multithreaded socket server on my pc through direct(!) wireless connection. It works fine but i want to improve it for mobile applications as it is very power consuming by now. When i remove two special lines in my code, the cpu usage of my mobile device (htc one x) is totally okay but then my connection seems to have high ping rates or something like that... Here is a server code snippet where i receive the clients data: while(true) { try { .... Heres the client part, where i send my data in a while loop: private void networking() { try { if(client != null) { .... out.writeObject(sendQueue.poll()); .... } } catch .... when i write it this why, i send data everytime the while loop gets executed.. when sendQueue is empty, a null "Object" will be send. this results in "high" network traffic and in "high" cpu usage. BUT: all send comments are received nearly immediately. when i change the code to following: while(true) ... if(sendQueue.peek() != null) { out.writeObject(sendQueue.poll()); } ... the cpu usage is totally okay but i'm getting some laggs.. the commands do not arrive fast enough.. as i said, it works fine (besides cpu usage) if i'm sending data(with that null objects) every while execution. but i'm sure that this is very rough coding style because i'm kind of flooding the network. any hints? what am i doing wrong??     I have setup a catchall router on exim (used as last router): catchall: driver = redirect domains = +local_domains data = ${lookup{*@$domain}lsearch{/etc/aliases}} retry_use_local_part This works perfectly when sending emails locally. However, if I login to my GMail account and send an email to [email protected], then I get an "Unrouteable Address". Thank you for any hints to solve this issue.
