    Hello, I hope you could help me here. I have a RewriteRule which gives you a crossdomain.xml file depending on the domain name. I have it in a way that ignores the ".dev." string in the middle, example: Request: http://site1.dev.mydomain.com/crossdomain.xml Returns file: /etc/httpd/conf/crossdomain/site.mydomain.com.xml RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} "^(.*)\.dev\.(.*)" RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} "/crossdomain.xml" enter code hereRewriteRule ^(.+) %{HTTP_HOST}$1 [C] RewriteRule ^(.*)\.dev\.([^/]*)/crossdomain.xml /etc/httpd/conf/crossdomain/$1.$2.xml [L] Question: How do I check if the file exists? I tried adding this on top but it doesn't work: RewriteCond /etc/httpd/conf/crossdomain/$1.$2.xml -f I guess because it is a chained rule, no idea. Please help.

    This is what my .htaccess looks like. The .htaccess is sitting in /www/scripts directory which is the parent of codeigniter's "system" directory and which also contains index.php. I have enabled mod_rewrite in my Apache 2.2.x. This is on Ubuntu 9.10 server. I followed this link, but it does not work. Is there anything i need to do in apache2, any specific configuration so that this works??     Hello. I have a edit page that looks at record_id's in the url.. I don't want the user to see any record id, that way they can't replace it with another and edit another record.... Anyways, my url is like: http://www.mywebsite.com/folder/folder_detail_edit.php?recordID=3980 I would like it to just display: http://www.mywebsite.com/folder/folder_detail_edit.php Is this possible regardless of the recordID???

    HI guys. Im using mod_rewrite to do some redirects on a web site. I want to be able to do the following mySite.com/ - Goto Home mySite.com/foo - Goto redirect.php and redirect acordingly. My redirect rule was RewriteRule (^\w*$) redirect.php?url=$1 [NC] But im oviously missing something because when I go tomySite.com/ I get sent to redirect.php I need a regex that allow lower and upper case letters, as well as underscores but it has to ignore "empty" strings so when I go to mySite.com/ the index file is displayed. Any help? Thanks!

Both are working fine, but when I go to the domain.com/folder/ path, I would like it to forward me to domain.com/folder/index.htm for consistency. This is the htaccess rule I was trying, but it wasn't working for me and I am not sure what I did wrong. RewriteRule ^folder/$ folder/index.htm RewriteRule ^folder$ folder/index.htm I tried these rules at the start and end of the rule list to see if anything was overriding and nothing appears to be.

    I have a script myscript.inc.php which handles all urls that look like /script-blah I accomplish this by using following .htaccess RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^script-(.*)$ myscript.inc.php?s=$1 [QSA,L] However users could also access it this way by typing /myscript.inc.php?s=blah I would like to prevent that. I tried <Files ~ "\.inc\.php$"> Order deny,allow Deny from all </Files> and RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \.inc\.php RewriteRule .* - [F,L,NS] They both prevent users from viewing /myscript.inc.php?s=blah but they also cause /script-blah to return 403... Is there a way to do this correctly?

    I am planning to convert my website to a new CMS, but I would like to use mod_rewrite to seamlessly redirect old links to their new locations. The catch is that my new blog will not have the same article numbers as the old, because I'll import some older blog entries in their first. Thus, my mod_rewrite would need to take a URL like old.php?article=125, do the addition to figure out the new article number (say +200, for this example), and redirect to new.php?i=325. Can mod_rewrite do the addition on its own, or am I going to need some kind of 'helper' script to do that?

    Quick backstory: I'm making a "framed" version of my site that has a different master page than normal (one suitable for iframing). It's accessed by mysite.com/Framed/whatever, instead of mysite.com/whatever. This is rewritten in IIS to mysite.com/whatever?framed=true. That works fine. The issue I'm having is that all the links are relative using a ~ like ~/Server.aspx which works fine in the normal site. I need to override that so instead of producing ../Server.aspx (as it "should") it produces ../Framed/Server.aspx or Server.aspx. Currently this means that the page goes back to it's normal view (mystite.com/whatever2) as soon as you click on a link, I want it to continue to stay in mysite.com/Framed/...

  • Apache rewriteBase in .htaccess for development subdomains

    I think I'm missing something and don't think I really understand how rewriteBase works. The problem I have is that I have a production site where the site is in the root directory yet I have my development site in a localhost subdirectory. Eg http://www.sitename.com/ vs http://localhost/sitename/ If I have for example an images folder I want to reference the images from the site root by using the initial slash in the href. Eg Using a relative href (without the initial slash) is not an option. This will work on the production site but the development site is looking for http://localhost/images/imagename.jpg instead of http://localhost/sitename/images/imagename.jpg So I thought all I needed to do was setup the following in my .htaccess file to force the site root to my subdomain within the development environment: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /sitename But this still uses localhost as the site root instead of localhost/sitename. Can anyone please give me some pointers?

    I was working on debugging an issue today related to mixing mod_proxy and mod_rewrite together and I ended up having to use balancer://mycluster in the RewriteRule in order to stop receiving a 404 error from Apache. I have two questions: 1) Is there any other way to get the rewritten URL to go through the balancer without adding balancer://mycluster into the RewriteRule? 2) Is there a way to define all the parameters I defined in ProxyPass (stickysession=JSESSIONID|jsessionid scolonpathdelim=On lbmethod=bytraffic nofailover=Off) in either the <Proxy> or RewriteRule? I'm concerned the requests that match the new RewriteRule won't load balance in the same fashion as those that go through ProxyPass (like /app1/something.do)? Below are the relevant sections of the httpd.conf. Now when i browse the directory by browser then the codeigniter’s not found page displays. I can’t browser the file /assets/image.jpg but it displays when i call it from an tag What can i do now?     Hi I have the following in a .htaccess file redirect 301 /page.php http://domain.com/page Which works fine and as expected. I want to be able to redirect the following http://domain2.com/page.php to http://domain2.com/page or http://domain3.com/page.php to http://domain3.com/page or http://domain4.com/page.php to http://domain4.com/page So basically whatever the domain name is, I want to redirect to it. But the catch is I want to use a 301 redirect. Is this even possible ? Or should I be using RewriteCond and RewriteRule ?

I checked my httpd.conf (I'm running Centos 5.3) and the mod_rewrite library is being loaded. As a side note, my server is not a www server, its simply a virtual machine so its hostname is centosvm. Addition: I have found that the mod_rewrite module is loaded, but none of my .htaccess redirects seem to be working.

Now I want to redirect my subdirectory to that rails app. http[s]://domain.com/redmine to 127.0.0.1:12001 The current rules apply REQUEST_URI to the above rails path, but I need to strip "/redmine" from the front of REQUEST_URI...     Is it possible somehow using mod_rewrite change the url from http://www.mywebsite.com/company/123/reviews to http://www.mywebsite.com/company-123/reivews? It's not a redirect. The problem is that the real path is the first one and I need my browser to display the second path. So when the user goes to company-123/reviews the content of the page is displayed from company/123/reviews. Thank you.
