  • Aspect Oriented Programming vs List<IAction> To execute methods based on conditions

    - by David Robbins
I'm new to AOP so bear with me. Consider the following scenario: A state machine is used in a workflow engine, and after the state of the application is changed, a series of commands are executed. Depending on the state, different types of commands should be executed. As I see it, one implementation is to create List<IAction> and have each individual action determine whether it should execute. Would a Aspect Oriented process work as well? That is, could you create an aspect that notifies a class when a property changes, and execute the appropriate processes from that class? Would this help centralize the state specific rules?

    - by user1524393
    i have a activity that have 2 sherlockfragment in this The first two pages display fragments with custom list views which are built from xml from server using AsyncTask. However, when the app runs, only one list view is displayed, the other page is just blank public class VpiAbsTestActivity extends SherlockFragmentActivity { private static final String[] CONTENT = new String[] { "1","2"}; TestFragmentAdapter mAdapter; ViewPager mPager; PageIndicator mIndicator; protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { setRequestedOrientation(ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_PORTRAIT); super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.simple_tabs); mAdapter = new TestFragmentAdapter(getSupportFragmentManager()); mPager = (ViewPager)findViewById(R.id.pager); mPager.setAdapter(mAdapter); mIndicator = (TabPageIndicator)findViewById(R.id.indicator); mIndicator.setViewPager(mPager); mIndicator.notifyDataSetChanged(); } class TestFragmentAdapter extends FragmentPagerAdapter { private int mCount = CONTENT.length; public TestFragmentAdapter(FragmentManager fm) { super(fm); } @Override public Fragment getItem(int position) { switch(position) { case 0: return new customlist(); case 1: return new customlistnotuser(); default: return null; } } @Override public int getCount() { return mCount; } public CharSequence getPageTitle(int position) { return VpiAbsTestActivity.CONTENT[position % VpiAbsTestActivity.CONTENT.length].toUpperCase(); } @Override public void destroyItem(View collection, int position, Object view) { ((ViewPager) collection).removeView((View) view); } } } what can i update viewpager when change pages ? the customlistnotuser page likes customlist page but not show public class customlistnotuser extends SherlockFragment { // All static variables static final String URL = "url"; // XML node keys static final String KEY_TEST = "test"; // parent node static final String KEY_ID = "id"; static final String KEY_TITLE = "title"; static final String KEY_Description = "description"; static final String KEY_DURATION = "duration"; static final String KEY_THUMB_URL = "thumb_url"; static final String KEY_PRICE = "price"; static final String KEY_URL = "url"; private ProgressDialog pDialog; ListView list; LazyAdapterbeth adapter; XMLParser parser = new XMLParser(); public void onActivityCreated(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onActivityCreated(savedInstanceState); } public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); new getFeed().execute(); } public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { View thisfragment = inflater.inflate(R.layout.dovomi, container, false); return thisfragment; } private class getFeed extends AsyncTask<Void, Void, Document> { } protected Document doInBackground(Void... params) { XMLParser parser = new XMLParser(); String xml = parser.getXmlFromUrl(URL); // getting XML from URL Document doc = parser.getDomElement(xml); // getting DOM element return doc; } protected void onPostExecute(Document doc) { ArrayList<HashMap<String, String>> songsList = new ArrayList<HashMap<String, String>>(); NodeList nl = doc.getElementsByTagName(KEY_TEST); // looping through all song nodes <song> for (int i = 0; i < nl.getLength(); i++) { // creating new HashMap HashMap<String, String> map = new HashMap<String, String>(); Element e = (Element) nl.item(i); // adding each child node to HashMap key => value map.put(KEY_ID, parser.getValue(e, KEY_ID)); map.put(KEY_TITLE, parser.getValue(e, KEY_TITLE)); map.put(KEY_Description, parser.getValue(e, KEY_Description)); map.put(KEY_DURATION, parser.getValue(e, KEY_DURATION)); map.put(KEY_THUMB_URL, parser.getValue(e, KEY_THUMB_URL)); map.put(KEY_PRICE, parser.getValue(e, KEY_PRICE)); map.put(KEY_URL, parser.getValue(e, KEY_URL)); // adding HashList to ArrayList songsList.add(map); pDialog.dismiss(); } list=(ListView)getActivity().findViewById(R.id.list); // Getting adapter by passing xml data ArrayList adapter=new LazyAdapterbeth(getActivity(), songsList); list.setAdapter(adapter); // Click event for single list row list.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() {

  • Reducing template bloat with inheritance

    - by benoitj
Does anyone have experience reducing template code bloat using inheritance? i hesitate rewriting our containers this way: class vectorBase { public: int size(); void clear(); int m_size; void *m_rawData; //.... }; template< typename T > class vector : public vectorBase { void push_back( const T& ); //... }; I should keep maximum performance while reducing compile time I'm also wondering why stl implementations do not uses this approach Thanks for your feedbacks

  • Semicolon in object variable name

    - by milkfilk
There's a common LDAP attribute called userCertificate;binary. It actually has a semi-colon in the attribute name. In ruby, I turn an LDAP entry into a OpenStruct object called 'struct'. struct.class = OpenStruct But of course ruby thinks it's an end-of-line character. ? struct.userCertificate;binary NameError: undefined local variable or method `binary' for main:Object from (irb):52 from :0 IRB knows that the local variable is there, because it gives me struct.userCertificate;binary from the tab auto-completion. I can also see the class variable when calling struct.methods on it. struct.methods = ... "send", "methods", "userCertificate;binary=", "hash", ... It's definitely there, I can see the contents if I print the whole variable to_s(). But how can I access the local variable when it has a semicolon in it? I have workarounds for this but I thought it was an interesting problem to post.

  • Saving a 'Date' using DataMapper on AppEngine+JRuby

    - by Ryan Montgomery
I have a a model as follows: class Total include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :amount, Float, :default => 0.00 property :day, Date belongs_to :calendar end I am trying to select a specific Total from the data-store. class Calendar include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :name, String has n, :totals def get_total_for(date) return Total.first(:day => date, :calendar => self) end end When I call get_total_for(DateTime.now) I receive the following error on the call to the data-store. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: day: org.jruby.RubyObject is not a supported property type. Is Date not allowed for usage in AppEngine? Is this a DataMapper issue? I have tried changing the name of the :day property to something else (hoping it was just a name conflict) but it doesn't seem to matter. Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • MVC EditorFor bind to type in array

    - by BradBrening
I have a ViewModel that, among other properties, contains an array of 'EmailAddress' objects. EmailAddress itself has properties such as "Address", and "IsPrimary". My view model breakdown is: public class UserDetailsViewModel { public BUser User { get; set; } public string[] Roles { get; set; } public EmailAddress[] EmailAddresses { get; set; } } I am showing a "User Details" page that is pretty standard. For example, I'm displaying data using @Html.DisplayFor(model => model.User.UserName) and @Html.DisplayFor(model => model.User.Comment) I also have a section on the page that lists all of the EmailAddress objects associated with the user: @if(Model.EmailAddresses.Length > 0) { foreach (var address in Model.EmailAddresses) { <div> @Html.DisplayFor(model => address.Address) </div> } } else { <div class="center">User does not have any email addresses.</div> } My problem is that I would like to show an "Add Email Address" form above the list of email addresses. I thought I would take the "normal" approach thusly: @using(Html.BeginForm(new { id=Model.User.UserName, action="AddUserEmailAddress" })) { <text>Address:</text> @Html.EditorFor(model => ** HERE I AM STUCK **) <input type="submit" value="Add Email" class="button" /> } As you may be able to tell, I am stuck here. I've tried model => Model.EmailAddresses[0] and model => Model.EmailAddresses.FirstOrDefault(). Both of these have failed horribly. I am sure that I am going about this all wrong. I've even thought of adding a "dummy" property to my ViewModel of type EmailAddress just so that I can bind to that in my EditorFor - but that seems to be a really bad hack. There has to be something simple that I'm overlooking! I would appreciate any help anyone can offer with this matter. Thank you in advance!

  • php smarty not passing to browser unless logged in.

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
I'm not the best at understanding these things with php and smarty, but this is really annoying. On: http://www.euroworker.no/order, there is meant to be a display of the amount of tax included in the price like: Tax (25%): 772,- Totalt: 3861,- But unless the user has logged in or created a new account, the tax doesn't display. Here is the Smarty code: <tr id="taxtr"> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> {foreach $cart.taxes.$currency as $tax} <td>&nbsp;</td> <td colspan="4" class="subTotalCaption2">{$tax.name_lang}:&nbsp;</td> <td class="amount taxAmount2">{$tax.formattedAmount}&nbsp;</td> {$cart.formattedTotal.$currency {$GLOBALS.cartUpdate|@array_shift} {/foreach} </tr> I don't know about all the inner workings of this system (Livecart), but is there anything I can do or look through to make it force the calculation/display. Thanks..

  • WPF Binding not updating when binded object is updated

    - by Chris Klepeis
I'm trying to bind to a custom control like so: <my:GanttChartTaskListView Name="ganttChartTaskListView1" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={x:Static local:TaskCollection.taskList}}" /> In my WPF Window constructor I add add an item to my taskList, when it loads I can see that item in my custom control, however, when I subsequently add items it does not update. I tried setting Mode=TwoWay, however, then it says the "Path" is required and I'm not familiar with binding like that (this is new to me). Here is my TaskCollection class: namespace ProjectManager { public static class TaskCollection { private static List<TaskItem> _taskList = new List<TaskItem>(); public static List<TaskItem> taskList { get {return _taskList; } set { _taskList = value; } } } } Any ideas? Is there a better / easier way to do this?

  • How do I pass an array to a method?

    - by ambidextorous

But how exactly do I pass an array to a class constructor? public class TestArray { String name; String[] array; public TestArray(String name, String[] anArray){ this.name = name; int len = anArray.length; this.array = new String[len]; for (int i = 0; i < len; i++) { this.array[i] = new String(anArray[i]); } } public static void main(String[] args){ String[] anArray = new String[2]; anArray[0] = new String("Test"); anArray[1] = new String("Test2"); TestArray work = new TestArray("Jordan", anArray); // How to pass the array? } }

  • Trouble assigning a tr1::shared_ptr

    - by Max
I've got a class that has a tr1::shared_ptr as a member, like so: class Foo { std::tr1::shared_ptr<TCODBsp> bsp; void Bar(); } In member function Bar, I try to assign it like this: bsp = newTCODBsp(x,y,w,h); g++ then gives me this error no match for ‘operator=’ in ‘((yarl::mapGen::MapGenerator*)this)->yarl::mapGen::MapGenerator::bsp = (operator new(40u), (<statement>, ((TCODBsp*)<anonymous>)))’ /usr/include/c++/4.4/tr1/shared_ptr.h:834: note: candidates are: std::tr1::shared_ptr<TCODBsp>& std::tr1::shared_ptr<TCODBsp>::operator=(const std::tr1::shared_ptr<TCODBsp>&) in my code, Foo is actually yarl::mapGen::MapGenerator. What am I doing wrong?

  • Forcing a templated object to construct from a pointer

    - by SalamiArmi
I have a fictional class: template<typename T> class demonstration { public: demonstration(){} ... T *m_data; } At some point in the program's execution, I want to set m_data to a big block of allocated memory and construct an object T there. At the moment, I've been using this code: void construct() { *m_data = T(); } Which I've now realised is probably not the best idea... wont work under certain cirumstances, if T has a private assignment operator for example. Is there a normal/better way to do what I'm attempting here?

  • Ravendb 960 does not honor JsonIgnore with property of Dictionary<string, object>

    - by David Robbins
Does JsonIgnore not work when a property has data? I have the followin class: public class SomeObject { public string Name { get; set; } public DateTime Created { get; set; } public List<string> ErrorList { get; set; } [JsonIgnore] public Dictionary<string, object> Parameters { get; set; } public SomeObject() { this.ErrorList = new List<string>(); this.Parameters = new Dictionary<string, object>(); } } My expectation was that JsonIgnore would exclude properties from De- / Serialization. My RavenDB document has data. Am I missing something?

  • Unit testing with serialization mock objects in C++

    - by lhumongous
Greetings, I'm fairly new to TDD and ran across a unit test that I'm not entirely sure how to address. Basically, I'm testing a couple of legacy class methods which read/write a binary stream to a file. The class functions take a serializable object as a parameter, which handles the actual reading/writing to the file. For testing this, I was thinking that I would need a serialization mock object that I would pass to this function. My initial thought was to have the mock object hold onto a (char*) which would dynamically allocate memory and memcpy the data. However, it seems like the mock object might be doing too much work, and might be beyond the scope of this particular test. Is my initial approach correct, or can anyone think of another way of correctly testing this? Thanks!

  • Is a function kind of like a static method?

    - by lkm
I'm a java programmer and am trying to understand the difference between a method (java methods) and a function (such as in c++). I used to think that they are the same, just different naming conventions for different programming languages. But now that I know they are not, I am having trouble understanding the difference. I know that a method relates to an instance of a class and has access to class data (member variables), while a function does not (?). So is a function kind of like a static method? See here for explanations I read which led me to think this.

  • How to invoke static method in C#4.0 with dynamic type?

    - by Morgan Cheng
In C#4.0, we have dynamic type, but how to invoke static method of dynamic type object? Below code will generate exception at run time. class Foo { public static int Sum(int x, int y) { return x + y; } } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { dynamic d = new Foo(); Console.WriteLine(d.Sum(1, 3)); } } IMHO, dynamic is invented to bridge C# and other programming language. There is some other language (e.g. Java) allows to invoke static method through object instead of type. BTW, The introduction of C#4.0 is not so impressive compared to C#3.0.

  • Lazy loading? Better avoiding it?

    - by Charlie Pigarelli
I just read about this design pattern: Lazy Load. And, since in the application i'm working on i have all the classes in one folder, i was wondering if this pattern could just make me avoiding the include() function for every class. I mean: It's nice to know that if i forgot to include a class, PHP, before falling into an error, trough an __autoload() function try to get it. But is it fine enough to just don't care about including classes and let PHP do it by your own every time? Or we should write __autoload() just in case it is needed?

  • How do I avoid boxing/unboxing when extending System.Object?

    - by Robert H.
I'm working on an extension method that's only applicable to reference types. I think, however, it's currently boxing and unboxing the the value. How can I avoid this? namespace System { public static class SystemExtensions { public static TResult GetOrDefaultIfNull<T, TResult>(this T obj, Func<T, TResult> getValue, TResult defaultValue) { if (obj == null) return defaultValue; return getValue(obj); } } } Example usage: public class Foo { public int Bar { get; set; } } In some method: Foo aFooObject = new Foo { Bar = 1 }; Foo nullReference = null; Console.WriteLine(aFooObject.GetOrDefaultIfNull((o) => o.Bar, 0)); // results: 1 Console.WriteLine(nullReference.GetOrDefaultIfNull((o) => o.Bar, 0)); // results: 0

  • Flash AS3: automate property assignment to new instance from arguments in constructor

    - by matt lohkamp
I like finding out about tricky new ways to do things. Let's say you've got a class with a property that gets set to the value of an argument in the constructor, like so: package{ public class SomeClass{ private var someProperty:*; public function SomeClass(_someProperty:*):void{ someProperty = _someProperty; } } } That's not exactly a hassle. But imagine you've got... I don't know, five properties. Ten properties, maybe. Rather then writing out each individual assignment, line by line, isn't there a way to loop through the constructor's arguments and set the value of each corresponding property on the new instance accordingly? I don't think that the ...rest or arguments objects will work, since they only keep an enumerated list of the arguments, not the argument names - I'm thinking something like this would be better: for(var propertyName:String in argsAsAssocArray){this[propertyName] = argsAsAssocArray[propertyName];} ... does something like this exist?

  • C# Fake Enum TypeInitializationException

    - by userk
I'm trying to create a class that works as a flexible enum. I came with this idea, with 2 additional static methods that allow me to add new members to that list and get only members from that list. public class LikeEnum { private static List<LikeEnum> list = new List<LikeEnum>() { new LikeEnum("One"), new LikeEnum("Two") }; private string value; private LikeEnum(string value) { this.value = value; } } Unfortunately the List list is only initialized as null so this doesn't work... Any ideas or suggestions?

  • CRUD Question with Codeigniter

    - by Brad
I have a database with blog entries in it. The desired output I am trying to acheive is 3 entrys displayed using the css3 multi paragraph and then another 3(or more) formatted with the codeigniter Character_limiter. So I need 3 displays formatted one way and 3+ formatted another way on the same page. So far this is what I have, but i do not know how to format the sql to achieve what I want. I can call all posts in descending order like I want, but dont know how to separate the code to achieve my output Controller: $this->db->order_by('id', 'DESC'); $this->db->limit('2'); $query = $this->db->get('posts'); if($query->result()) $data = array(); { $data['blog'] = $query->result(); } $data['title'] = 'LemonRose'; $data['content'] = 'home/home_content'; $this->load->view('template1', $data); View: <?php if (isset($blog)): foreach ($blog as $row): ?> <span class="title"><?php echo $row->title; ?> </span> <?php echo $row->date; ?> <div class="split"><?php echo $row->post =$this->typography->auto_typography($row->post); ?></div> <?php echo 'Post #',$row->id; ?> <p> Trackback URL: <? echo base_url()."trackbacks/track/$row->id";?></p> <hr /> <?php endforeach; endif; ?> The split class is multiple columns. I tried 2 different querys but dont know how to separate all the post displays. Also one query always overides the second and produces all split or all character limited paragraphs. Im lost here lol. Thanks

  • C++ - colon after contstructer, what does it mean?

    - by waitinforatrain
Hi, I'd happily google this but don't know what to call it to google it. I have a piece of code here: class demo { private: unsigned char len, *dat; public: demo(unsigned char le = 5, unsigned char default) : len(le) { dat = new char[len]; for (int i = 0; i <= le; i++) dat[i] = default; } void ~demo(void) { delete [] *dat; } }; class newdemo : public demo { private: int *dat1; public: newdemo(void) : demo(0, 0) { *dat1 = 0; return 0; } }; (It's from a past exam paper and the question is to correct errors in the code so ignore errors!) My question is, what are the ": len(le) " and " : demo(0, 0)" called? Something to do with inheritence?
