• Addresses stored in SQL server have many small variations(errors)

  I have a table in my database which stores packing slips and their information. I'm trying to query that table and get each unique address. I've come close, but I still have many near misses and I'm looking for a way to exclude these near duplicates from my select. • Hibernate query for multiple items in a collection

  I have a data model that looks something like this: public class Item { private List<ItemAttribute> attributes; // other stuff } public class ItemAttribute { private String name; private String value; } (this obviously simplifies away a lot of the extraneous stuff) What I want to do is create a query to ask for all Items with one OR MORE particular attributes, ideally joined with arbitrary ANDs and ORs. Right now I'm keeping it simple and just trying to implement the AND case. In pseudo-SQL (or pseudo-HQL if you would), it would be something like: select all items where attributes contains(ItemAttribute(name="foo1", value="bar1")) AND attributes contains(ItemAttribute(name="foo2", value="bar2")) The examples in the Hibernate docs didn't seem to address this particular use case, but it seems like a fairly common one. The disjunction case would also be useful, especially so I could specify a list of possible values, i.e. where attributes contains(ItemAttribute(name="foo", value="bar1")) OR attributes contains(ItemAttribute(name="foo", value="bar2")) -- etc. Here's an example that works OK for a single attribute: return getSession().createCriteria(Item.class) .createAlias("itemAttributes", "ia") .add(Restrictions.conjunction() .add(Restrictions.eq("ia.name", "foo")) .add(Restrictions.eq("ia.attributeValue", "bar"))) .list(); Learning how to do this would go a long ways towards expanding my understanding of Hibernate's potential. :)

  Hi all, I'm trying to paramaterize some queries in SSIS. After some reading, it sounds like my best option is to create one variable that contains my base sql, another that contains my criteria and a final variable that is evaluated as an expression that includes both of these. I want to end up with an SQL query that is effectively UPDATE mytable set something='bar' where something_else='foo' So my first two variables have the scope of my package and are as follows: Name: BaseSQL Data Type: String Value: UPDATE mytable set something = 'bar' where something_else = Name: MyVariable Data Type: String Value: foo My third variable has a scope of the data flow task where I want to use this SQL and is as follows: Name: SQLQuery Data Type: String Value: @[User::BaseSQL] + "'" + @[User::MyVariable] + "'" EvaluateAsExpression: True In the OLE DB Source, I then choose my connection and 'SQL command from variable' and select User::SQLQuery from the dropdown box. The Variable Value window then displays the following: @[User::BaseSQL] + "'" + @[User::MyVariable] + "'" This is as desired, and would provide the output I want from my DB. The variable name dropdown also contains User::BaseSQL and User::MyVariable so I believe that my namespaces are correct. However, when I then click preview, I get the following error when configuring an OLE DB Source (using SQL command from variable): TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio Error at Set runtime in DB [Set runtime in myDb DB [1]]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E14. An OLE DB record is available.   I'm attempting to remove Component elements from the XML below that have File children with the extension "config."   I am using EF 4.0 and I need to implement query with one inner join and with N outer joins I started to implement this using different approaches but get into trouble at some point.   I have the following problem. I want to make multiple Highcharts webcharts appear automatically based on the data from the database. And i have the following query: SELECT a.year AS year1, a.month AS month1, a.id AS id, a.name AS nameuser, a.wins AS wins, a.losses AS losses FROM Sales a WHERE a.month = 1 AND a.year = YEAR(NOW()) With this, it is very easy to hardcode a chart with Highcharts. But what I want is that there has to be a webchart per user. So instead of a single webchart with all the users in it, I want multiple charts next to each other based on the data from the database. So instead of this: http://jsfiddle.net/CWSb6/ I want this (But then next to each other): http://jsfiddle.net/DReMD/ It has to be generated automatically with php and mysql. So if there is a new user starting this month, and the new user is saved in the database, the page automatically displays the new user with the related web chart.   Hi there, I posted a question yesterday, which I intend to get back to today however I wrote some JavaScript as a first line of prevention against XSS. However when testing this on my live server I catch some invalid input as the javascript catches the php section. My form uses post and php isn't in my form items (i haven't typed it in). Could this be picking up the form action or something? When Momsbackground is selected in the program, I set the ChosenBackground string according to what item the user has clicked (either "Mom" or "Dad"). I have 8 CPU server, MySQL and I start 7 delayed_job processes RAILS_ENV=production script/delayed_job -n 7 start Q1: I'm wondering is it possible that 2 or more delayed_job processes start processing the same process (the same record-row in the database delayed_jobs). I checked the code of the delayed_job plugin but can not find the lock directive in a way it should be. I think each process should lock the database table before executing an UPDATE on lock_by column. They lock the record simply by updating the locked_by field (UPDATE delayed_jobs SET locked_by...). Is that really enough? No locking needed? Why? I know that UPDATE has higher priority than SELECT but I think this does not have the effect in this case. My understanding of the multy-threaded situation is: Process1: Get waiting job X. [OK] Process2: Get waiting jobs X. [OK] Process1: Update locked_by field. [OK] Process2: Update locked_by field. [OK] Process1: Get waiting job X. [Already processed] Process2: Get waiting jobs X. [Already processed] I think in some cases more jobs can get the same information and can start processing the same process. Q2: Is 7 delayed_jobs a good number for 8CPU server? Why yes/not. Thx 10x!

Even Object[] foo = out.get(0); would throw an ClassCastException :(

• Complex SQL query, one to many relationship

  Hey SO, I have a query such that I need to get A specific dog All comments relating to that dog The user who posted each comment All links to images of the dog the user who posted each link I've tried a several things, and can't figure out quite how to work it. Here's what I have (condensed so you don't have to wade through it all): SELECT s.dog_id, s.name, c.comment, c.date_added AS comment_date_added, u.username AS comment_username, u.user_id AS comment_user_id, l.link AS link, l.date_added AS link_date_added, u2.username AS link_username, u2.user_id AS link_user_id FROM dogs AS d LEFT JOIN comments AS c ON c.dog_id = d.dog_id LEFT JOIN users AS u ON c.user_id = u.user_id LEFT JOIN links AS l ON l.dog_id = d.dog_id LEFT JOIN users AS u2 ON l.user_id = u2.user_id WHERE d.dog_id = '1' It's sorta close to working, but it'll only return me the first comment, and the first link all as one big array with all the info i requested. The are multiple comments and links per dog, so I need it to give me all the comments and all the links. Ideally it'd return an object with dog_id, name, comments(an array of the comments), links(an array of the links) and then comments would have a bunch of comments, date_added, username, and user_id and links would have a bunch of links with link, date_added, username and user_id. It's got to work even if there are no links or comments. I learned the basics of mySQL somewhat recently, but this is pretty far over my head. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks!

What is happening currently is that it's taking numbers where there is a goal and no history entered, or history and no goal, this screws up the calculations as both goal and history for the same item are required on each.   I need to get the number of rows of a query (so I can paginate results). • Nested ListBox in DataGrid? Inherit style?

  I have a DataGrid with multiple columns. The data grid has a style that changes the forecolor of text on a row where the mouse is over or the row has been selected. So the text color will change from black to white, for example. In one of the columns in the data grid, I have a ListBox. Is it possible for the items in the list box to have the foreground change to that of the data grid row, when you do mouse over or select the data grid row? I don't want to have a style for the list box that is specific to mouse over for the list items, I just want the foreground of the list items to change automatically to the forground of the data grid row when the mouse is over the row or selected the row. So even if the user moves their mouse over a different column (that doesn't contain the listbox) - I would want the foreground for the listbox to change. How can I go about doing this?   Hello, I am trying to loop through an array and perform an httpwebrequest in each iteration. The code seems to work, however it pauses for a while (eg alot longer than the set timeout. Tried setting that to 100 to check and it still pauses) after every 10 or so iterations, then carries on working.   Is there any POSIX signals that I could utilize in my Perl program to create event-driven programming? Currently, I have multi-process program that is able to cross communicate but my parent thread is only able to listen to listen at one child at a time. foreach (@proc) { sysread(${$_}{'read'}, my $line, 100); #problem here chomp($line); print "Parent hears: $line\n"; } The problem is that the parent sits in a continual wait state until it receives it a signal from the first child before it can continue on. I am relying on 'pipe' for my intercommunication. Update: As Jonathan Leffler mentioned, kill can be used to send a signal: kill USR1 = $$; # send myself a SIGUSR1 My solution will be to send a USR1 signal to my child process. This event tells the parent to listen to the particular child. child: kill USR1 => $parentPID if($customEvent); syswrite($parentPipe, $msg, $buffer); #select $parentPipe; print $parentPipe $msg; parent: $SIG{USR1} = { #get child pid? sysread($array[$pid]{'childPipe'}, $msg, $buffer); }; But how do I get my the source/child pid that signaled the parent? Have the child Identify itself in its message. What happens if two children signal USR1 at the same time?
