• CSS sticky footer makes scroll bar unscrollable in IE 8

  I'm using this sticky footer in my website: http://www.cssstickyfooter.com/using-sticky-footer-code.html It is fully working in Firefox, Chrome, IE7, but not IE8. In IE8 the scrollbar appears but doesn't work, and I don't have any other way to move down. • JTable Design Guide in Swing Application

  I have a really hard design problem in my swing application. Generally Speaking, I have a JTable and a JLabel to display. The label is right below the JTable. When the height of these two components doesn't exceed a threshold, then the jtable and label displays as normal. Then height of these two components will increase as the number of records filled in the table increases. When the height of these two components exceeds a threshold, I want there is a scrollbar in the JTable and the height of these two components will be the threshold. Is this design Possible? I have draft to illustate my UI design requirement. But I don't know how to post it in this forum. And any reply are appreciate. Best Regards, Zheng.

• C# Dynamic Query Without A Database Model

  I have been searching the web for a solution to dynamic queries. I have found many different solutions (e.g. Linq to Sql, Dynamic Linq Expressions, Dynamic Query), but all of these solutions involve some sort of previous knowledge of the database (like a model in code). Maybe what I am asking is way off the deep end, but is there any possible way to dynamically query a database without a model? For example, a database has a Customers table with the following columns: CustomerID Name FavoriteColor I want to create a query as SELECT Name FROM Customers WHERE @0 = @1, where the two placeholders are populated dynamically. The resulting data does not tie to a model class and I would prefer to use some sort of framework to build the queries, not simple string concatenation. The System.Linq.Dynamic namespace came really close to fulfilling this request, but it uses a database model. I realize this is crazy, but I was just curious.

I defined a table in my database wich resume the profil and the url permitted like that: id_profil :1 url : http://localhost/...xyz.jsp id page 1 Now I am trying to let the menu modified appropriately to the id_profil of the logged user. So there are pages allowed in one profile but must be hidden to others. I have no idea since now how to realize this and it is so important for me. thanks for your help.

  I've seen a few questions like this, but mine is a bit more specific so I hope this isn't considered a repost. I am working on a website that is built with struts 2 and hibernate. I need to dynamically populate a drop down menu using data from a sql query based on an option selected in another drop down menu. So basically when the first option is selected I need to rehit the server and get the results from a query like SELECT column FROM table WHERE option = dropDownOption On top of that, I would really like to use ajax to only refresh the affected elements, however I'm really unfamiliar with ajax. I have jquery on this project and I found they have some ajax built in, but is this a good method for using it? any advice on this topic would be appreciated.

Now I wan to create a model named "OrderDetails" which will have properties from both the model like product name and id from product and Order number from orders something like this.   Hi iOS gurus, I'm a little bit confused about UITableViewController... As far as I concern they are typically the delegate and datasource of the UITableView (although it can be made such that they are different). However in some cases, like when embedding a UITableViewController in a UITabBarViewController in Interface Builder, we initiate our table view controller in IB. Therefore in my understanding, the default initialiser is being called. But in this case, I have this piece of code: @interface Settings : UITableViewController { } And in the IB I see that the delegate and datasource of the UITableView is hooked up to this class. My question is, why is it that we don't need to explicitly say that it is following: @interface Settings : UITableViewController <UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource> { } And in the .m file: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [tableView setDelegate:self]; [tableView setDataSource:self]; } I have indeed stumbled upon some cases where I have to explicitly code the above a few times to make something work. Although it is still a mystery for me as of why it is needed...

Each class has remotely callable methods and a dispatch method with two possible input, a string identifying the method or an integer which would be the index of the method in a table. A mapping of the string to the corresponding integer would be implemented by a map. The caller would send the string on the first call and get back the integer with the response so that it simply has to send the integer on subsequent calls. It is just a small optimization. • What is the best way to store categorical references in SQL tables?

  I'm wanting to store a wide array of categorical data in MySQL database tables. Let's say that for instance I want to to information on "widgets" and want to categorize attributes in certain ways, i.e. shape category. For instance, the widgets could be classified as: round, square, triangular, spherical, etc. Should these categories be stored within a table to reference them best from an application? Another possibility, I would imagine, would be to add a column to widgets that contained a shape column that contained a tiny int. That way my application could search shapes by that and then use a coordinating enum type that would map the shape int meanings. Which would be best? Or is there another solution that I'm not thinking of yet?

I’ve used JavaScript ~2 years ago (just a little), so I don’t really know how to write the exact code. I’ve found something on the internet, but it doesn’t do what I want. I want to have the following: The user can check the RadioButtons. When the user clicks the Button, the JavaScript function should return all the checked radio buttons (I only need to know which RadioButton is checked). Since I know the name of the RadioButtons in my Windows 8 App, I can do the following: var object = WebView.InvokeScript("JavaScriptFunctionNAME", NameOfRadiobutton); So the WebView invokes the script and should get as a return the VALUE of the RadioButton, which is checked. “JavaScriptFunctionNAME” = name of the function in Javascript NameOfRadiobutton = the name of the RadioButton as a parameter (for example “frage1”). Currently I’m returning the value of the radiobutton, which is checked in the RadioGroup “frage1”. How can I check every RadioButton by it’s parameter? • How can I replace the contents of a scrollable div without jumping to the top?

  I have a div with the overflow: auto style. It is populated via AJAX with a result table. The rows in this div are editable, and with each edit I refresh the contents. The problem is, if the user edits something at the bottom of the div, the refresh brings them back to the top. I had some luck using anchors with Firefox, but not all versions of IE jumped to the anchors within the div. Is there any way to replace the contents of a div like this without having the scrollbar jump to the top? Any other suggestions? I like to refresh the entire set of results rather than just the updated row if possible, but if there are no workarounds I guess I will pursue that instead.

How do I get all of the Person records have a FullName? In other words, I want to ignore the records that do not have a FullName.   I have a Windows 8 store application and I'm using the latest version on SQLite for my database. So I want to return some records from the database and I want to order them by more that one column. However SQLite doesn't seem to have the ThenBy statement?
