  • Accessing super class function using subclass object

    - by bdhar
I have an object for a subclass who is of it's superclass type. There is a overridden function in subclass which gets executed when called using the object. How to call the parent's function using the same object? Is there any way to achieve this? package supercall; public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { SomeClass obj = new SubClass(); obj.go(); } } class SomeClass { SomeClass() { } public void go() { System.out.println("Someclass go"); } } class SubClass extends SomeClass { SubClass() { } @Override public void go() { System.out.println("Subclass go"); } } Consider the code above. Here it prints Subclass go . Instead I have to print Superclass go .

  • Strategy Design Pattern -- *dynamic* !!!

    - by alexeypro
My application will have different strategies for my objects. What's the best way of implementing that? I would really love the case when we can make strategy classes implementation dynamically loaded from, say, some relational database. Not sure how do that better, though. What's the best approach? Idea is that say we want to apply to object MyObj strategy Strategy123 then we just load from database by ID 123 the object, deserialize it, get the Strategy class, and use it with MyObj. The maintenance while sounds easier from the first look can be a pain in the long run if Strategy interfaces changes, etc. What can I do also? I want to find solution when I should be keeping Strategy classes in codebase -- just for the sake that I don't need code change and re-deployment of the application if my Strategy changes, or I add new strategy. Please advise!

  • Spring Web Service Client Tutorial or Example Required

    - by Nirmal
Hello All... I need to jump into the Spring Web Service Project, in that I required to implement the Spring Web Service's Client Only.. So, I have already gone through with Spring's Client Reference Document. So, I got the idea of required classes for the implementation of Client. But my problem is like I have done some googling, but didn't get any proper example of both Client and Server from that I can implement one sample for my client. So, if anybody gives me some link or tutorial for proper example from that I can learn my client side implementation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

    - by Abdel Olakara
Hi all, I am trying to get started with SpringRoo and GWT after seeing the keynote.. unfortunately I am stuck at this issue. I successfully created the project using Roo and added the persistence, the entities and when I perform the command "perform package" I get this error: 23/5/10 12:10:13 AM AST: [ERROR] ApplicationEntityTypesProcessor cannot be resolved 23/5/10 12:10:13 AM AST: [ERROR] ApplicationEntityTypesProcessor cannot be resolved to a type 23/5/10 12:10:13 AM AST: [WARN] advice defined in org.springframework.mock.staticmock.AnnotationDrivenStaticEntityMockingControl has not been applied [Xlint:adviceDidNotMatch] 23/5/10 12:10:13 AM AST: [WARN] advice defined in org.springframework.mock.staticmock.AbstractMethodMockingControl has not been applied [Xlint:adviceDidNotMatch] 23/5/10 12:10:13 AM AST: Build errors for helloroo; org.apache.maven.lifecycle.LifecycleExecutionException: Failed to execute goal org.codehaus.mojo:aspectj-maven-plugin:1.0:compile (default) on project helloroo: Compiler errors : error at import tp.gwt.request.ApplicationEntityTypesProcessor; I see this in the Maven console and cannot complete the build..I know there is some jar missing but how and why? because I downloaded all the latest version including GWT milestone release. Any idea why this error is occurring? How do I resolve this issue? Thanks in Advance, Abdel Olakara

  • all individual panels are not shown inside root panel

    - by Suresh Kumar
Respected sir/madam, I want to add multiple jpanels to jpanel. So i added a root panel to jscrollpane.and then added all individual jpanels to this root panel.I made jscrollpane's scrolling policy as needed.i.e HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_AS_NEEDED,VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_AS_NEEDED. But the problem is all individual panels are not shown inside root panel. Code: JScrollPane scPanel=new JScrollPane(); JPanel rootPanel=new JPanel(); rootPanel.setLayout(new FlowLayout()); JPanel indPanel = new JPanel(); rootPanel.add(indPanel); JPanel indPanel2 = new JPanel(); rootPanel.add(indPanel2); //.....like this added indPanals to rootPanel. scPanel.setViewPortView(rootPanel); //scPanel.setHorizontalScrollPolicy(HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_AS_NEEDED); And one more thing is, as i scroll the scrollbar the panels are going out of jscrollpane area. I am not able to see all individual panels, Please suggest me.

  • EJB3 with Spring

    - by fish
I have understood that if I use EJB in Spring context, I get all the same benefits as if I was using it in "pure" EJB3 environment, is this true? I have googled but can't find a definitive, clear answer. For example, let's say I have a session bean that updates some tables in the database and it throws a System Exception. In "pure" EJB3 environment the transaction is rolled back. What if I for example @Autowire this bean using Spring, does Spring take care of the transaction handling same way as does the EJB3 container? Or what? Does it maybe require some specific configuration or is it fully "automatic"?

  • Hibernate one-to-one mapping

    - by Andrey Yaskulsky
I have one-to-one hibernate mapping between class Student and class Points: @Entity @Table(name = "Users") public class Student implements IUser { @Id @Column(name = "id") private int id; @Column(name = "name") private String name; @Column(name = "password") private String password; @OneToOne(fetch = FetchType.EAGER, mappedBy = "student") private Points points; @Column(name = "type") private int type = getType(); //gets and sets... @Entity @Table(name = "Points") public class Points { @GenericGenerator(name = "generator", strategy = "foreign", parameters = @Parameter(name = "property", value = "student")) @Id @GeneratedValue(generator = "generator") @Column(name = "id", unique = true, nullable = false) private int Id; @OneToOne @PrimaryKeyJoinColumn private Student student; //gets and sets And then i do: Student student = new Student(); student.setId(1); student.setName("Andrew"); student.setPassword("Password"); Points points = new Points(); points.setPoints(0.99); student.setPoints(points); points.setStudent(student); Session session = HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory().getCurrentSession(); session.beginTransaction(); session.save(student); session.getTransaction().commit(); And hibernate saves student in the table but not saves corresponding points. Is it OK? Should i save points separately?

  • Android Location Error

    - by Christopher
    I've singled out my problem to a few lines of code lm = (LocationManager)getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE); Location location = lm.getLastKnownLocation(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER); lm.requestLocationUpdates(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER, 1000L, 5.0f, this); lat = location.getLatitude(); lng = location.getLongitude(); //lat = new Double(40.431682); //lng = new Double(-74.2021819); pLocation = new GeoPoint((int)(lat * 1000000), (int)(lng * 1000000)); My onLocationChanged if you were wondering public void onLocationChanged(Location location) { if (location != null) { lat = location.getLatitude(); lng = location.getLongitude(); pLocation = new GeoPoint((int)(lat * 1000000), (int)(lng * 1000000)); } } My application crashes if I try to get the LastKnownLocation But it works fine if I feed it a Location manually I have no idea currently whats wrong

  • Setting a custom XOM EntityResolver

    - by Stefan Kendall
I need to not validate against a doctype, so I'd like to set a custom EntityResolver that accepts everything. I'm getting data back from tagsoup, so I know my data is well-formed and correct. Furthermore, I need to rapidly hit a number of documents, so when I do this with the default EntityResolver, I get 503 from w3.org. How, then, can I use a XOM builder with a custom entity resolver?

  • IVR-style dialog system

    - by unbeli
I need to build a dialog system similar to IVR used in call centers. My system is not phone-based, but the dialog is similar. Something like System: "Main menu: Enter [1] for menu1, [2] for menu2" User: [1] System: "menu1: enter [1] for apples, [2] for oranges, [3] for main menu" User: [7] System: "What??" System: "menu1: enter [1] for apples, [2] for oranges, [3] for main menu" User: [2] ... and so on I want to have a nice declarative description of all the possible options and a nice way to run through that tree, guided by user input. Already considered: ANTLR-generated lexer/parser (seems to be an overkill), SCXML-based state machine (seems like only transitions can be declared, the rest needs to be coded)

  • common problem with Hibernate/NHibernate and child IDs

    - by tyndall
I'm asking both Hibernate and NHibernate groups because I'm thinking this may be a common issue seen on both. What does it usually mean when you call a saveOrUpdate on a child object and... 1) If it is an insert everything works fine. 2) If it is an update its wiping out the parent ID in the database.

  • How to Use Grizzly Embedded Server for Mule as Well as Jersey

    - by Tim
I'm currently using JerseyTest w/ Grizzly embedded server to test some code. I do some very simple configuration to point it to the proper resources: Map<String, String> initParams = new HashMap<String, String>(); initParams.put("com.sun.jersey.config.property.packages", "com.sample.service"); ApplicationDescriptor appDescriptor = new ApplicationDescriptor(); appDescriptor.setServletInitParams(initParams); super.setupTestEnvironment(appDescriptor); This works fine and the Jersey components are available and working as expected. I'm now trying to add some Mule functionality to some of these Jersey calls, but Mule is not being properly initialized/configured by Grizzly. Has anyone gotten this kind of setup running? What additional configuration do I need to do with JerseyTest/GrizzlyWebServer to get it to initialize Mule properly?

  • Generic JMS Client

    - by Damo
Does anyone know if it is feasible to write a Generic JMS client - ie. one that works with JMS from different providers (eg. Sonic, IBM SIB, Jboss etc)? Every time I've written JMS client code it is always very implementation specific with dependent JARs and Context classes. Thanks.

  • JEditorPanes, Preferred Size, and printing HTML

    - by Ryan Elkins
I'm trying to print some HTML directly, without displaying anything to the user. It works currently (somewhat) using a custom JEditorPane that implements Printable. The problem I'm having is that it always wants to use a preferred size of 582px x 560px. If I manually change the size using something like setSize(x,y) it will change the size of the pane, put the content renders at preferred size, not actual size (so it's still 582x560). I can scale it up to fit the page, but it's basically just an enlarged version where the images are all pixelated and the layout is wrong (based on the smaller window size). Inside the print method of my Printable JEditorPane I used this to try and get the size: javax.swing.JWindow wnd = new javax.swing.JWindow(); wnd.setContentPane(this); wnd.setSize(1024,1584); wnd.pack(); Dimension d = wnd.getPreferredSize(); With or without that setSize and/or pack methods on the JWindow the preferred size always comes back as 582x560. I do have control over the html that I'm trying to print but I'd rather not have to rewrite all of that to scale it down so it will print correctly at full size (when scaled up).

I have a stringtoList ArrayList that needs to return tokens from a StreamTokenizer but the s.sval is not compiling at run-time, can anyone help me with this problem: private List<Token> stringToList(final String string) { // TODO your job // follow Main.main but put the tokens into a suitable list ArrayList<Token> al = new ArrayList<Token>(); String word = ""; String in = string; StreamTokenizer s = new StreamTokenizer(new StringReader(in)); int token; while ((token = s.nextToken()) != StreamTokenizer.TT_EOF) { if (token == StreamTokenizer.TT_WORD) { DefaultToken t = (s.sval, s.lineno()); //problem here, not reading the sval from the StreamTokenizer!!! al.add(t); } return al; } } Any help would be most appreciated

  • algorithm for image comparison

    - by Rajnikant
Please consider following use case, I have one bigger image, lets called is master image. Now from some where else, I am getting one small image. I want to check whether this small image is subset of master image or not. important points are, smaller image might have different file format, smaller image might captured from comparatively different view. smaller image may have different light intensity. At this stage of algorithm/computation advancement, which level of accuracy I could expect? Any algorithm/open source implementation that would have such implementation? Thanks, Rajnikant
